Negative experience: I have implants done by ClearChoice. This weekend I felt my bottom plate become slightly loose while eating. With no ClearChoice in Charleston, I looked up several dental offices that handle implants, and I chose Solomon specifically due to their 4.9 rating. I verified when I called, when I came in, and when I was first taken back that they could work on my implants, and was assured they could. The first thing that happened was I had one of those expensive X-rays and an “exam”. Following that, I explained to the doctor what was going on. The first warning sign was the doctor asking me specific questions about who manufactured my implants, but she did say she “thought” she could work on them. Concerning. She got started, and I made a comment during this part of the procedure that normally my experience with removing the plates was different. This job seemed to encompass a great deal of digging and prying in an attempt to remove the material and screws from the posts. I was assured things were going as planned. After removing the bottom plate, it was determined that the bonding around the posts failed, causing the plate to become loose. This is where it starts getting really alarming, because now my doctor has asked the assistant to grab the other doctor, and the two proceeded to have a consult on the best way to repair the bonding over the top of me. It really wasn’t a confidence builder, but again, I was assured this was completely repairable. I was even told the good news is that my implant looked great, and fixing this bonding would have me on my way with the issues corrected. One of the many things they do poorly is communicating what they’re going to do before that do it, and this was a disaster, because it takes my ability to consent to what they’ve elected to do away from me. Having corrected the bonding, doing whatever it is they do, the doctor proceeded to put the plate back. From the outset this didn’t feel “right”. I raised concerns multiple times to no avail. Finally, I more forcefully stopped the doctor for her to sound frustrated with me, telling me she was still working on it. However, that did get her to realize what she should have already known. She was attempting to screw in a plate that was misaligned to a drastic degree. Everything should have stopped then when it was realized my plate was now 2-3 times higher than it was when I came in. It was at this point that the other doctor was called back in, and the two consulted again and realized that it wasn’t just the bonding. One of my screws had broken inside the post. I maintain that it’s just as likely that all of the picking and prying could have broken this screw, and remain skeptical that this wasn’t noticed when taking out the screws. You have three screws of one size and another that’s smaller, right? Wouldn’t you notice? I asked this and was told that they were really small and it was innocently overlooked. Doctor number two placed one in her gloved hand and showed me. Now, I’m no doctor/dentist, but if I’m investigating to repair someone’s implant, I’m going to pay attention to the screws since this is one of the common things that could happen, but I digress. Keep in mind that I’m in a chair staring at the ceiling. I can’t see what anything looks like, and I’m trusting their judgment. They decided to proceed and attempt to correct my bite. They should know you can’t file zirconia down to that degree without ruining it, but grind away they did. At one point I stopped her and said more harm than good was being done, but she assured me she could fix it. All she managed to do was grind almost all of the tread on my teeth on left side of my mouth, ruining a $57,000 prosthetic. Look at the pics. You’re not grinding that out. So now I can’t eat anything, can’t clinch my teeth at all, don’t know how I’ll sleep later, and I am wildly uncomfortable. It was an inexcusable 3+ hour experience filled with anxiety. She fixed nothing and made it much worse. I’m supposed to be called in the morning. We’ll see.

Fantastic experience: I am a cancer survivor, but radiation ruined my teeth. Fortunately, Solomon family dentistry had affordable care and worked with my existing Medicaid. I recently had my remaining 16 teeth pulled and dentures placed. The staff were all friendly and caring... even when I was less than easy to work with. I would recommend them to anyone looking for good, affordable care, and am thankful I chose them for my dental work. The Before and after photos are crazy. Negative experience: It took THREE FREAKING HOURS to get a crown! And in the middle of cementing it in, she stopped to help another patient. she STOPPED! That is totally unacceptable. She said she had to take care of scheduled patients. I was a freaking SCHEDULED patient! Your staff was totally unprofessional! I'm telling everybody not to go there and I have been going there for years. I'm not sure I will ever go back.

Fantastic experience: Staff was friendly and extremely helpful in answering all of my questions. Very efficient operation as I was seen right at my scheduled appointment time and was finished in 45 minutes. Accepted my Medicare insurance which resulted in minimum out-of-pocket cost. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Positive experience: No instructions before appt which building to go to so had to repark and go to another building. Never received the option to fill out paperwork online so had to fill out in person. Didn't find the staff very friendly until I saw the hygienist. Was there over an hour for a cleaning which I thought was a little long considering the hygienist took less than 15 mins and the dentist less than 5.

Positive experience: The first appointment I made as a new client they never told me I needed a letter from my OBGYN saying it was okay to receive treatment while pregnant, so I showed up and then had to reschedule, which was disappointing. During my rescheduled appointment I showed up 10 minutes early and they made me wait 50 minutes in the waiting room which made me feel like they didn’t value my time, and I had to rearrange my work schedule to accommodate their tardiness.

Fantastic experience: I was worked into the schedule quickly and I was called early for my appointment. They were very easy to talk to about my issues, so this was a very good experience.

Positive experience: One of the front desk girls was blatantly unethical in how she talked about a patient's phone call after she hung up with them. She was also quite loud with her remarks and badmouthed another work associate as well. I thought you'd like to know because I feel this really needs to be brought to her attention. My husband and I both had a good experience with the hygienist and doctor though.

Negative experience: X-rays that were taken where not given an explanation for the need. The diagnosis did not adequately explain the pain that I was having. After the diagnosis, no plan of action was recommended. I had to practically pry info out of the dentist. When asked about a particular procedure as opposed to another. I was quickly told that it was very expensive. Never mind the fact that I had insurance. To me that said you probably can’t afford it. I have had other dentists give me the full cost for a plan of action; which they could not give me. All in all, I think I will go elsewhere for the work that I need done.

Fantastic experience: Since the middle of 2024, I’ve had nothing but positive experiences at Solomon Family Dentistry’s Sangaree location in Summerville, SC! There are usually many patients in the waiting area, but they’re always being seen at the appointed time in this well-kept facility. Dr. Alexander Spevak, and each Dental Assistant that has attended to me on my visits, have been competent, knowledgeable, professional, yet helpful, humble, and kind without limits. The several front and back desk staff persons are pleasant, focused, accommodating and sensitive to the needs, time, requests, and emotional condition of incoming and outgoing patients. (I pay attention.) In addition to the high quality of results and products provided, this environment, service, and attention is what people really want, but are not guaranteed to receive in these changing times of robot-like communication, frequent distractions, phoniness, and insensitivity to others. From time to time, dental visits can be very challenging for many, including myself, but the visits I’ve experienced at Solomon Family Dentistry have only supported and encouraged me to continue receiving lifelong formal dental care without hesitation! P.S. Excepr for the request, I have not been coerced in any way to post this review :-)

Fantastic experience: Staffs súper friendly since check in until checkout and no words for the doctor extremely friendly. Answer all my questions and the waiting time was phenomenal I came couple minutes early and they called me on time and 30 minutes later I was done. I was recommended by my sister in law and I will recommend them .

Fantastic experience: I wish Solomon would have notified me to take an antibiotic prior to my visit when they called to confirm my appointment. I realize the automatic notification would not have that information. It would have saved me considerable anxiety. Great experience otherwise but do NOT care for the music that plays . It’s the second time I mentioned the music choice. Easy listening would be better than country. Especially on a longer procedure.

Fantastic experience: I’m a new customer at Solomon’s after coming in on a Sunday in pain. Yes on Sunday! They took such good care of me I decided to change dentists. They have a large business but they treat their customers in a very professional and personal way. Went for my cleaning today and everyone was so kind and patient explaining all my options for my future dental care. Positive experience: When I got to my appointment I was told it wasn’t on the schedule, then I had to call and it was finally verified I did. I was sent a text and email at least a day in advance that I did have the appointment on the day and time it was Then, the dentist I had previously seen and who the appointment was scheduled with, was not there so I saw a different dentist. I did like the dentist that took care of me and the dental hygienist who cleaned my teeth was excellent.

Positive experience: Dr Slay was very professional and kind and gentle. I didn’t feel a thing. Her assistant also was great.

Negative experience: We decided as a family to stop going here. A dentist was drilling before filling a cavity, her hand slipped and hit my gum. No problem, healed in 2-3 days. The problem was that she lied about it. If that happened to my young son he wouldn't have been able to express what happened. Now I don't trust them as providers. One out of four of my dental hygienists polished my teeth before cleaning them. I was not a fan of that. My husband said he didn't get a polish last time he went. Their confirmation of appointment policy is outlandish. I missed their 9am call while I was at work. I wasn't able to call back before they closed. The next morning at 7am I received a text. Since I didn't respond by noon that same day they cancelled my appointment. They gave me 28hrs to confirm, most of that time they would've been out of the office and not taking calls. There was also no warning that my appointment would be cancelled if I didn't respond in time. If they're going to put a cancellation policy in place they need to give at least a week's grace period and WARN people of the deadline. I've lived throughout the country and this is by far my worst dental experience.

Fantastic experience: Everyone shows great concern and compassion right from the receptionist to the techs to the dentist. I see Jason and I love the fact that he remembers his patients. Alexis did an amazing job during my cleaning always asking if I was ok through out the entire procedure. Thank you guys so much. Oh…love the music too.

Fantastic experience: Went in for a cracked tooth that was causing me horrible pain. Even as a walk-in, I hardly had to wait. The staff are the sweetest, from check in to treatment through checkout. Negative experience: No wait time , but had to fill out same paperwork even though no changes. Receptionist Not very friendly when I came in. Said I needed to see a periodontist even though 6 months ago I had no problems. I take very good care of my teeth. I had to sign off on 2 papers because I refused X-rays and refused periodontist. I should not have signed. I will get another opinion. Very disappointed.

Positive experience: The construction has destroyed any and all handicapped access to the makeshift entrance. The door mechanism. The blocked access for door drop-off. Impossible.to approach door and then get back out.. First two rows of four parking places to the right of useless planter area and the construction fence need to be blocked off for drive access and all the ares by the door and the two remaining slots there by the trees need to be handicapped. Give an into and out of driveway in the extremely long construction process. Pay a company to modify this with proper paint and white stripes and place signs on fence there saying no parking. Sitting here waiting for a handicap patient in a non handicap parking space with car after truck after SUBIRBAN....YES SUBURBAN....enter this tiny ill conceived concept and try to turn around to get back out the only way is the way in and it is a twelve point turn for some of them. Restricting ALL parking close to the door to HANDICAP would add space to the side of each handicap space and with a sign saying handicap or drop-off only would give everyone drop off access and a way to get out without reversing and potentially hitting the parked cars crammed in the tiny space.

They saw me same day, were transparent about costs and payment plans, and always communicated with me what was next. Negative experience: Treatment plan included antibiotics that were supposed to be sent in that day. I called twice and followed up in person a 3rd time over the course of a week, but it was never sent in.
