Amarillo Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics (APDO)

Negative experience: Waited 45 minutes for appointment, watched multiple people go in and out. Never once told it would be a few more minutes or even updated. Front desk is always rude and I’m just over it. We only came here for the dental assistant kirstee, she is absolutely amazing and sad that she won’t be taking care of my boy anymore. So if you do come here ask for her. But be prepared to deal with the front desk.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Devon Copper was phenomenal with both my girls. We have had nothing but awful experiences at every other dentist. But after today’s visit, my girls are not scared anymore and asked to go back. Big should out the assistants as well, very professional and polite.

Fantastic experience: Vanessa, the xray woman, was amazing with my oldest daughter who has a horrible gag reflex problem. She is by far the nicest and gentlest person we’ve encountered.

Positive experience: Can never actually get ahold of someone to help. Only the front office it seems. And They keep trying to transfer me to make a payment but for days it hasn’t been working . Not to be rude or anything but it’s getting annoying that no one picks up t He phone so I can’t make my payments .

Positive experience: My daughter visited APDO on March 2024 and her doctor name is Dr. Cooper. He is a nice person and they perform very good treatment. They are very much professional. However, according to Delta Dentals insurance, they are not in network provider. When I asked them over phone, then mentioned they are in network provider. After my first visit I have canceled the second appointment. I don't know why they hide the information to me. SO BE CAREFUL IF YOU HAVE DENTAL INSURANCE.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Cooper performed actual perfection on my daughter’s teeth. As terrifying as it is for your child to have to dental work, I could not be more pleased with the result. You can’t tell the difference whatsoever between the crowns on her front teeth & all of her other natural teeth. I am so appreciative of the attention to detail & the care when it came to my baby. Not to mention the entire staff both here & at our main office in Lubbock is so kind & patient even when I asked a million questions. Thanks for taking good care of my baby!

Negative experience: I'd give zero stars if I could!!! Horrible!!! They took over $7,000 to fix my nieces cavities and now after everything they "fixed", she has abscesses and has to have teeth pulled as a result!!! Awful dentists, awful office staff....terrible all around! If she were my child, I'd have a lawsuit against this office so fast!!! I highly suggest Parkview Pediatric Dentistry in Lubbock!!!

Negative experience: I had a very disappointing experience at this dental office, especially when it came to the care of my child. We've been waiting all year for unfinished work on my daughter's teeth, and the office was clearly overbooked during our visit. The dentist seemed stressed and lacked patience with my 5-year-old, who was understandably scared and moving a bit in the chair. During the appointment, he ground down her molars for crowns without considering her heart condition (she has long QT syndrome). When things didn’t go smoothly, he suggested sedation without fully addressing our concerns. We were left feeling rushed and unheard. To make matters worse, after waiting all this time for surgery, they canceled her appointment due to a mistake on their end. My child has been in discomfort because of the grinding, and now we have to scramble to find another provider who can help us quickly. When I spoke to the call center representative about our situation, there was no empathy or understanding—just a focus on correcting what they deemed was a misunderstanding. The receptionists were also less than courteous during our visits. Overall, I cannot recommend this dental facility. It’s been a frustrating and upsetting experience, and I would advise looking for another provider who will prioritize patient care.

Fantastic experience: I just want to say that Brenda did an awesome job with my daughter. She was scared and Brenda made her feel comfortable. Dr Hicks is awesome as well, she explained everything that was going on.

Fantastic experience: Brenda and Dr. Duvries were amazing. As first time patients at this dentist office we experienced nothing but calm loving patience with our littles. Dealing with a 4yr old and 2yr old, our kiddos never cried.

Fantastic experience: This place has got it goin on! They have a great system set up employees are great but I want to call out Dr Mandee for her phenomenal skill, outstanding care and love for her patients. She treated us like royalty. The assistants were no where near as lovely and straight up wonderful as she! She deserves an award! 100% God bless her?

Negative experience: Not very happy with this Facility and the way they do business. I brought my child to be seen for an exam and X-rays. They informed me that my daughter had to no insurance coverage when in fact she does have the coverage. They informed me that my daughter had 12 Cavities!! After stating that my daughter had the 12 cavities they were pushing hard on starting treatment the same day!!! I just knew I couldn't afford what they were wanting me to pay. I took my treatment plan and took my business to another Dentistry who informed me that my daughter only had 3 cavaties and verified her insurance coverage!! Be cautious of this place. It was red flags for me all the way!!!

Fantastic experience: Service was quick and easy! Brenda is great with the kids and makes them feel comfortable. Dr. Cooper was also great with the kids and very personable!

Fantastic experience: Brenda is amazing! My daughter is disabled and scared. Brenda calms her and makes her laugh. Brenda is able to get her to take xrays and do minor treatment. She has been wonderful!

LOVE bringing my children here. Such amazing staff. Alexandria from the call center has been the absolute best to talk to. She always goes above and beyond to make sure my questions and concerns are met. She makes everything SO easy and is one of the main reasons I love going here. It’s always a great time, comfortable environment. So grateful for the doctors and staff for being so great with my babies.

Fantastic experience: I was so scared of my daughter’s procedure bc she has allergies and a genetic disorder and they took their time to go over her case and help me feel assured. Everything went well and I am so grateful to them.

Negative experience: Horrible!!! I will never take my kids back after today! Drove all the way from Hereford for a 4pm appt just for them to say I didn’t have one till Wednesday! Mind you I was in contact with the office since Monday and the lady specifically told me ok we will see you tomorrow! Called to try and get them into the Wolflin location and they transferred me back to the one where I left pissed because they wouldn’t see my kids. I leave to come back to hereford and Kendra called me saying she was so sorry the call center did tell me today and wanted me to go back. No, thanks if no one is in communication between the call center and making appts I’m not wasting my time. My kids have been going there since they were like 6 months old and having private insurance I had hell today. I hope our new dentist doesn’t repeat with what happened today!

Fantastic experience: Your office was recommended by my sister in law who brings her son here It wasn’t hard to make an appointment even though rescheduled a few times because of work, but I asked for Betty and she always found a spot for us. Kirstee was very courteous, very professional, made us feel real comfortable. Dr Cooper explained everything thoroughly. I greatly appreciate everyone.

Fantastic experience: The staff are friendly. They explain everything and make sure I understand and answers any questions might have. They also make sure my son is comfortable and try to make his experience as calm as possible. I’ve taken my son here 3 times and each experience has been great.

Negative experience: Staff isn’t very friendly, not very informative or helpful. Seems like you’re rushed in and out. Hygienist didn’t wear gloves when touching instruments before using them on my child. Very unsanitary! Definitely could use some customer service/chair-side etiquette training. Can’t say I’d ever recommend to anyone

Positive experience: Great experience with the dental technician, she was funny and friendly. My only complaint is after we were called back we were moved to two different waiting areas and then we were forgotten about for over 30 minutes and then moved to our last waiting area to finally be seen. The other technicians found my son’s paperwork and had no idea who brought him back or what was going on because the lady who brought us back just left. Other then that it was a great visit.

Fantastic experience: They took my daughter's braces off and fit for a retainer all in one day. She went home with a beautiful smile!!!! She's definitely a happy customer!

Fantastic experience: I am OVER THE MOON with my experience at APDO. I was having issues with my previous dentist for my son. our dental hygienist Kirstie was so sweet, fun, and provided us with lots of information on how to take care of my son’s teeth. She went above and beyond for us and made us feel so comfortable. Walking him to a new dentist. I also absolutely loved his dentist Cooper. He also made the environment so fun for my son and enjoyable. I really felt like he cared about taking care of my son and helping us to move forward on how to take care of my sons cavities. I had no issues, asking him questions because I felt like he really cared to answer them. I overall just absolutely loved this place and can’t wait for our next visit.

Negative experience: I had an appointment scheduled at 8:30 I did not get contacted about my child's insurance being inactive until 10 min from the appointment as I was already showing up. As well I was questioned on if I was even my child's biological mother... Insurance finally gets figured it out we get taken to the back and the lady who was beginning to do treatment on my son she is speaking about how she had been up since 3am using the bathroom due to her eating out at cicis. I am not one to complain or speak on certain things due to me not liking confrontation . I have been bringing my son here since he was a baby and I have never had a experience this way & It was definitely a disappointment.

Fantastic experience: APDO truly cares about their patients. We moved to the area just recently and I’m glad we were referred to this place after my son fractured his tooth. They were able to communicate with me over the weekend and get him in first thing Monday morning! The dentist was knowledgeable, patient, informative and skilled! Couldn’t have asked for a better place to have his teeth fixed and cared for.

Fantastic experience: It’s a great place fir kids.. The staff is awesome.. Easy to get your appointments.. I call Betty Garza and she sets me up with my appointments for my son.. Kristen is great she talks to my son and gets to the point of what needs to be done..Cici was the one who also helped me to stay calm while he she was putting on the gas smiling..and talked to him the whole time they were doing he feeling..They are great will differently keep going there..

Fantastic experience: Take your family here!!!! I am in pediatric health, so I tend to have high expectations when it comes to healthcare workers -especially with my own baby. This team is WINNING! They were so good! Everyone we interacted with was delightful, professional, and kid-focused. Dr. DeVries and Carolina worked magic, we didn't end up needing numbing injections (which was the part we couldn't tolerate at our first dentist), and heard later, "I was trying to take a nap in the dentist chair!" They were very clear in advance and at the appointment about costs, pricing, and payment options. As the plan was updated throughout the visit, they briefed me on cost changes as well - if applicable. We will definitely return!

Fantastic experience: The staff and doctor were awesome. Clinic is inviting. We went for an ortho. Appointment and my daughter walked out with braces. And were accommodating with dejo appts. I wish I (emphasis on I) would have asked more questions about what all they were going to have to put in with her specific situation. Dr. Highly recommend Invisalign though, we were the ones that went the opposite direction.

Fantastic experience: The doctors and techs at APDO are amazing! My daughter (4) had a lot of anxiety about getting a crown but everyone there gave her time to calm herself and decide to have the procedure without pressuring her or giving up on her.

Positive experience: Always pretty accommodating. We definitely like the orthodontist side the best! They are always so nice, fast and helpful. Everyone upstairs is amazing! Down stairs gets 4 stars because sometimes it is a long wait and depending on your hygienist, some are really nice but others are rude.

Fantastic experience: My 8 year old daughter was nervous at her dentist so he referred us to APDO. As soon as we got there she said she was way more comfortable there. The nurse and the dentist were able to keep her calm and kept her informed of every move they were making. Dr. David Harney and the nurses are awesome.

Positive experience: Always a great experience for my daughter. Just wish they would give you more information regarding insurance issues before hand so you aren’t having to make last minute calls to get it taken care of beforehand.

Fantastic experience: My daughter is differently abled and can become very anxious during dental visits and needs to be put to sleep just to have her dental work and teeth cleaning done. The APDO staff, from the receptionist to the nurses and Drs from her initial visit until surgery is done, each person she comes in contact with makes her feel special which puts this mom's mind at ease because I only want what's best for her and at APDO they treat her with professionalism, courtesy, and kindness. We are treated like part of their family. Very relaxed atmosphere, TV's and toys for families in waiting room, not a long wait time from waling in door to being seen. We Love APDO!!!

Fantastic experience: I simply can’t say how impressed and thankful I am for Betty Garza and Sarina Ortega and how they provided an excellent experience for me. They were so helpful and even took extra time to help me with some Medicaid issues. They went above and beyond and asked questions to get me to where I needed. By far the best dental experience I’ve ever had! Thank you ladies!!! ♥️

Fantastic experience: They treated my son with a tremendous amount of respect and care during a tooth extraction. They're super organized and everyone there is very nice. He loved the play area in the front as well. I asked him what he liked and he made sure that I mention the play area.

Fantastic experience: Dr. DeVries is a great dentist! He was great with our 4yo son. He made him laugh and made him feel very comfortable in the office. I can’t remember the dental assistant’s name but she was very kind and explained to our son in a fun way what was going on. We will definitely be going back in the future if necessary.

Fantastic experience: This was our first time taking our son and instantly from the very phone call they was SO sweet and helped me through the whole process! As soon as we got there they were very kind, helpful, and so very fast! They talked us through every part of the visit and I was able to be with our son through everything! The way they treated him is why I will definitely recommend to anyone! They are so sweet and funny! They made sure he was comfortable and good the whole time! We can’t wait to go back for our 6 month check up!

Fantastic experience: We had to travel due to not having any any pediatric dentists in our area who offer sedation. Our 6 year old needed to have work done and Dr. Cooper was amazing with him. I loved that they made him feel so comfortable and were patient with him when he needed breaks. We ended up doing his procedures using laughing gas instead of full sedation and all of the staff were wonderful. They walked us through everything and I don’t think we would have even tried to use laughing gas if the staff had not been so great! I would definitely recommend to others and I would say very much worth the drive!

Fantastic experience: The ladies there always make my kids dental experiences amazing. The dentist have the best bedside manner, which makes 10X easier for my kids to feel comfortable and safe to have their teeth checked.

Fantastic experience: Dr Mandee was so friendly and incredibly informative while seeing my 2 youngest. The new location is very nice and we were taken back and seen very quickly, which is always a bonus when you are dealing with little ones that lose patience quickly.

She answered all of our questions and Dr. Harney explained our treatment plan. We will definitely continue to go here and highly recommend this pediatric dentistry if you have kiddos.

Fantastic experience: I would highly recommend APDO to any parents who have kids that struggle with anxiety or first time dentist trips. Every person we spoke to was kind, patient, and understanding. This was the first time in almost 15 years that a dental visit did not end in tears. We will be doing braces as well and look forward to our future visits!

Fantastic experience: 10 out 10!! I would highly recommend to anyone. Very clean, fun kid friendly environment. Dr. Cooper is who we have been seeing our last few visits and I have to say how pleased we have been, he’s very educated, best bed side manor, always listening to any concerns we may have.
