Hylan Dental Care of Cleveland

Negative experience: I actually like the practice but being a person on a dual complete plan (Medicare/medicaid) I should not be receiving a BILL because the office did NOT Inform me that a particular dentist was OUT OF NETWORK!! Now I’m having to stress out about how this bill will get handled!!

Negative experience: Do not come here they will schedule you an hour and a half before they can see you. They don’t understand that 6 people can’t be in one chair I was scheduled for a removal at 3:30 and did not end up getting that done because they closed by the time they could get me in the back.

Fantastic experience: Entire staff is friendly and welcoming. They run on time and efficiently.

Fantastic experience: I came to Hylan after having many bad experiences with other dentists. I didn’t trust what the Hylan staff were telling because of my past bad experiences. They put me at ease and did a great job!! I’m a customer for life.

Negative experience: Absolutely horrible experience. I scheduled an exam and cleaning, had to basically convince Dr. Bevel that there was a cavity in my tooth until he finally found it (somehow I saw it on my very back molar with bare eyes yet he didn't see it with glasses and lights shining??). There's a lot I could say about how unprofessional many aspects of the first visit were, but the second visit where I got the cavity filled honestly has ruined my quality of life since having the work done. I could tell he was a new dentist by how many times he had to inject me with anesthetic - mind you, I understand it can be hard to numb the back lower molars - but this was next level.. like 7 injections overall which was pretty traumatic. And he didn't even fill the tooth correctly, having to have the work REDONE 3 months later by another dentist and paying out of pocket for it. The worst part is that due to the trauma to my jaw, I've been dealing with months of shooting jaw pain, radiating out into my face and teeth. I've seen TMJ specialists (didn't have TMJ issues prior), gotten acupuncture, massages, chiropractic, craniosacral therapy, ozone injections.. all to try and resolve the issues created by this miserable experience and have yet to really find relief. It's been over 6 months and I'm still unable to eat on that side of my jaw. Please stay away from this dental mill!!!

Fantastic experience: Since my last dentist refused to call/email me back, I ended up in the ER with severe tooth pain, I called Hylan Dental the day after and scheduled an appointment through their AI system, which unfortunately didn't book my appointment, BUT they still honored it anyways which I'm super grateful for. Not only did they get me a prescription to help eliminate the pain and any kind of infection that could be there but they were actually very compassionate in how they went about it. They didn't judge me because of what I had going on and how bad my teeth are, they actually informed me of all my options and what my insurance did and did not cover. I feel like they actually care here and I look forward to making this my permanent dentist office. All the staff are super friendly and polite, and it's a nice atmosphere as well. All in all, couldn't ask for anything better and thank you for going above and beyond for me on my first visit. It definitely helped sooth some my dental anxiety as well.

Fantastic experience: Went in for an emergency visit because a piece of filling came out (from another dentist). From start to finish, 10 out of 10. I waited about an hour for my appointment to start but I wasn't mad. They were getting people done and out of there like a well oiled machine. Dr. Levy educated me around new insurance coverages that I qualified for and I was so grateful because what I need is pricey! I got my filling fixed and they even gave me more x rays and submitted them to my insurance for approval so I can get my teeth finished. I was overjoyed. 10 out of 10 every time I come here.

Positive experience: Very clean and professional. Didn’t have to wait that long to be seen with a scheduled appnt. Doctor and entire staff especially the office manager are professional and seem caring and compassionate. And they listen to your concern. Office looks like a converted colonial home. But it’s very nice. I will recommend this dental office.

Negative experience: Went to Hylan Dental in high hopes that they would be a good dental facility, but sadly they are not.  The office manager who turns out is the owner’s daughter, which is kept a big secret is just completely rude to customers. She will turn a customer away in a heartbeat. She will tell you you’re too picky. She will say our girls are afraid of you and you make them uncomfortable and we don’t have time for you. We have too many emergencies and then she never ever ever calls anybody back. She’s too busy running around town with her three children…. she’s the rudest Office worker I have ever seen. Her father….,,The owner needs to have a word with her and probably tell her she’s not a good fit for an office position. What kind of a business turns customer away that says they don’t have time for you. I’ve been trying to make an appointment for five months and I’ve only been there twice ….the doctor I went to agreed to do my cleaning personally because when a hygienist does it in my experience, it is no way as good as cleaning teeth as a dentist is, it’s just a matter of fact your mouth will never feel as fresh as when a dentist does it. My aunt said the same ….. it’s ridiculous. I think it’s a shame that dental offices have moved to this practice of having a hygienist, clean teeth. I had a dentist for many many many many years that did everything himself. He was excellent in his practice. Now it’s all farmed off to these girls and some of them don’t know what they’re doing even if they are an EFDA they are even told to do fillings. I don’t pay a dentist for a hygienist to do fillings or an EFDA it’s ridiculous And every time I would walk in there, they would say you know this isn’t normal that you want a dentist to clean your teeth. I said well that’s very rude and it is normal to me ….anyhow don’t frequent there if you can help it because they are just terrible. I suppose the owner makes way too much money that he doesn’t care how his clients are treated. I don’t know if he’s aware that his daughter acts like this and treats people in this awful manner. She’s the rudest gal I have ever encountered spoke with the dentist and he said if it is this bad now, it will just get worse. He said you get what I’m saying. I’ve been here a few years. He was basically saying he doesn’t like it there but he’s dealing with it. I got the inference! They have three offices I believe Lakewood and Mayfield. This is the one in Fairview Park avoid at all cost and every single person says they’ll call you back and you never hear from them ever. Here’s the real zinger ….the daughter her name is Lauren actually told me she’s gonna have her attorneys call me. I said excuse me …. I will have my attorney call you. I said who do you think you are talking that way to a patient and threatening to have them called by an attorney. It’s obvious she grew up with a big silver shiny spoon in her mouth and thinks that she can do anything she wants and drive customers away and they will be OK . I don’t think so. You don’t treat customers that way ……her father would be ashamed. I doubt he knows what she’s doing and the receptionist laughs about how busy Miss Lauren is and how she runs from one office to another… and what exactly would be funny about that? I don’t care how busy she is ….she has no business operating a business that way! And then Ebony says oh I’ll call you on Monday when the doctor’s back and we’ll set up an appointment for you. Do you think I got a callback? Absolutely not ….it’s a shameful excuse for a business. They said oh yeah Lauren doesn’t call anybody back.

Fantastic experience: The most professional and comforting experience I've ever had at the dentist...explained all options ..helped me to understand the pros and cons...and also explained why the best option is the best option. This... hopefully, will be the last Dentist I ever see. They are going to be helping me with a care plan that will prevent all the problems (the other options will inevitably allow) in the future. I recommend anyone who is looking for a dentist to try Hylan Dental Care

Negative experience: Scheduled New patient appt 2x, one in 11/2024 and 04/2025 and both times they cancelled my appointment. Not a good first impression as a new patient.

Fantastic experience: I was honestly super super pleased with how fast and efficient and friendly they were. One of the receptionists actually came to the door to meet me because I couldn't figure out which door to go in. I. Was in thw waiting room for maybe 10 minutes. They brought me back, x-rayed me, shuffled me into the hygienists office, they hygienist was quick and thorough and super friendly, she dis my cleaning and then immediately brought the dr in to do my exam and chart what need fillings. They scheduled me for two weeks out and apologized for it being two weeks out... GIRL ... that's a dream in comparison to my experience other places. They were absolutely AWESOME. I was informed, respected, and treated kindly the WHOLE time.

Negative experience: Staff isn’t professional!! Wait times are RIDICULOUS. Then they quote you one price & it’s something else. This is NOT the place to go. I do not mind paying for a service but this was NOT a place I would recommend.

Negative experience: The absolute worst place I've ever been. After 6 months and 9 appointments I sit here with 2 teeth where the fillings have fallen out 4 times. They ruined new years for me and now Easter. All you are is a dollar sign to them

The team took amazing care of me , and I received immediate relief after the procedure. No pain afterwards either ! Thank you guys so much for your continuous care.

Negative experience: If I could give 0 stars, I would. This place is so unprofessional, always talking amongst themselves about other patients, ALWAYS overbooking. I have been back there 6 diffetent times already to fix 1 tooth. They always do half the procedure and then make me come back to complete it. I would not recommend them.

The dentist had the hands and tools of an angel. Pain none. Over very quickly. And the office staff was very helpful… even the “blonde lady”. Thank you. -Ray.

Negative experience: Charged me services before submitting them to insurance. When insurance asked them to resubmit the claim it’s taken them over 2 months to send it. Still waiting on the billing issues to be corrected. Received an additional bill recently and when I asked my insurance if they received the claim for it they said they do not have it. They charge their customers full price rather than charging insurance first.

Fantastic experience: This was my first experience here and I am posting this on my spouse's page and I had a lot of concerns with my teeth it was a process that day, but worth it, I have more return visits ahead, the staff I don't the words for they went above and beyond to make me comfortable and at ease, just fabulous out of this world, pricing could have been more adjustable, but I need the work done so do as I must. Fantastic experience: Great place. Been here a bunch. If the wait times are too long for you, go in the morning when they open. Much less of a line in the mornings. X-Rays are easier than ever here, say bye to most bitewings. I’ve never gotten a cleaning here yet but I’ve had several extractions, a root canal, and crown done the past few years. No issues. It’s a busy place but they have good leadership to keep it rolling. The techs are nice too, people just like us. Thanks ✌️

What a beautiful place inside and out. It’s a house with a twist. Very modern furniture. I love all of the office decors, all of it. Very clean. Greeted with a smile, friendly, positive and professionals staff members. They take the time to listen, patient, knowledgeable and passionate about their skills they have acquired working with different people’s personalities and moods. Love it. Fantastic experience: After having a previous dreadful experience in a dentist chair, and subsequently putting off any dental care for roughly thirty years, I decided to give Hylan Dental Care an audition. My initial visit consisted of x-rays, and evaluation by a dental hygienist, and and exam by a dentist; after which they shared their observations and recommended a course of care. Pretty much what I expected. From start to finish, everyone with whom I interacted was courteous and thorough. I felt especially good about the amount of time the staff spent explaining the procedures performed that day, as well as those in the foreseeable future; making sure I understood and, was comfortable, with the rationale for everything. I'm actually looking forward to my next appointment.

Fantastic experience: Hi I had an appointment for a clean and polish and Annette was very precise, kind, and helpful. She noticed I had a canker sore and rescheduled it because she didn’t want them to get infected she also recommended a mouth wash that would help with them.

Fantastic experience: I didn't want to have an extraction because I wanted to save my tooth but the pain just got to be unbearable. I called in at 9:45 AM. They scheduled me for 11 and Dr. Levy did an amazing job. I didn't even realize she had the tooth out. Now hours later and I have no pain at all. I am just astonished. You figure there would be atleast a little soreness but Absolutely nothing. It's really incredible. All their staff was very friendly and really made it a great experience.

From the time you open the door, you feel like you’re visiting a friend. The staff greets you with a smile. They are very polite and easy to talk too. My dentist, Daniel Escovar is exactly who I needed. He always greet me with a smile and ask me how I have been, before we even start. That helps me relax. He always explains to me what he will be doing that visit and listens to all my concerns (believe me I have a lot of questions). His patience is very appreciative. The dental work that I’ve had done, has never been painful. And at the end of each visit, he says goodbye with a hug. I finish my visit in the office of Susan, she handles the billing. Susan also is very pleasant and easy to talk too. Thank you Hylan Dental Care staff for your service and patience!!!

Negative experience: I was just at this place to have my teeth looked at. I understand new patient takes a bit, so I was patient and watched my paper be put on the wall with others who had come in. For one, things seemed alright, until it almost 30 minutes past when they put my paper on the wall and two people were called that came in after me. It happens. Be patient I thought. I have had terrible experiences with dentists because I have either had crap insurance, or like now, I have Caresourse. So, when I am finally called back, the "male nurse?" I am assuming walked super fast and talked super fast I could barely keep up, but mostly was just talking low and at me when doing my X-rays. Then rushed to find me a room. One wasn't open. So, I was put back in the waiting room. Few minutes later, a room was available. I am put in there. My stuff hung up. He says "at me" after clicking my x-rays open that the doctor will be in shortly. Then I sat in a cold room by myself for a good bit until "Dr. Lee....." I have no idea because she spoke so fast and I tried to explain to her I was having issues with my hearing aids. (The domes literally got stuck in my ear, was trying to explain it to her with my right one and the right dome came off getting stuck in my ear as well, making it difficult for me to hear entirely. I was actually struggling to begin with when I say in the chair. Most likely because the right dome wasn't attached correctly either and was going to disconnect either way.) That being said, and her literally seeing what had happened and being told inwas going to have trouble hearing. She LITERALLY was in that room with me, poked 2 teeth, told me I have one cavity and need to have my partial dentures replaced. That they would have that order put in. I tried to ask her about dental implants, she snapped quick that my insurance doesnt cover them, but my insurance updated their benefits plan in 2023 to ACTUALLY cover them. Even if they done, she could still put in for them so that i could have a formal refusal from them that I can appeal. Just like with my medical problems. Asked about bridges. Same deal! Insisted on a cap rather than the filling I wanted. DIDNT EVEN KNOW THEIR WAS A SMALL HOLE IN THE SIDE OF PART OF MY TOOTH UNTIL I SAID SOMETHING! That whole experience took LESS THAN FIVE MINUTES before she walked out the door. She said NOTHING TO ME ABOUT: the health of my teeth, the state they are in, the state of my gums. Asked me why I was missing 6 teeth. One of them being my canine. Talked to me about if i ever have jaw pain because I know I grind my teeth and clench my jaw. Talk to me about my teeth being loose in the back and what my options were there. How to better treat the plaque build up that mo matter how hard I try I can't get to go away. Never once heard my concerns about the lines on my teeth. Or the fact they have shifted. Or that the over crowding on the bottom makes me feel insecure and that I was hoping to get the broken one on the bottom finally fixed. She never even sat down. She stood over me walking fast and half-assing it to get out of that room as soon as she could. I then sat in that room alone for about 10-15 minutes? Before getting up, putting on my big black coat, and walking all the way from the one said of the building, up the stairs and leaving before realizing I forgot my cup, walked all the way back in, got my cup, and walked all the way out and NO ONE SAID A THING TO ME THAT ENTIRE TIME! That was at 10:45am. It wasn't until 1:55pm that they finally called me to tell me that I needed to come back in to have my teeth filled. She was wondering if anyone had told me that. NO! NO THEY DIDNT! THEY WERE TOO BUSY TREATING ME LIKE THEY HAD BETTER THINGS TO DO THEN BE IN THAT ROOM WITH ME CARING THAT I NEEDED THEIR HELP JUST AS MUCH AS THE PEOPLE WITH THE BETTER INSURANCE THAN ME! TOO BUSY TREATING ME AS IF I WAS INCONVIENCING THEIR TIME TAKING CARE OF PEOPLE THAT ACTUAL MATTERED! They made me feel like I didn't matter because I'm disabled and on caresource and wanted to feel good when I smiled.

Fantastic experience: Very Great service and takes care of their clients and clients needs and concerns! I had my crowns done by Dr. Escobar and he did excellent!

Negative experience: I had a 2:30 pm appointment, and it’s 4:17 , there was a lot of chatting and laughing in the back, which was unacceptable. Im not even getting worked on today so I basically waisted 2 hours of my time and all they do is talk more than they work, I will not be coming back here. When i finally got brought to the back it was 3:35 and i waited another 15-20 before i got X rays done. Then anfter that i waited in the chair until 4:11pm when a dentist finally came back just to tell me im not being worked on and they billed my insurance $150 for nothing!!!. Also they have dentist here that hasn’t even been in America long. Which was a major red flag. I’m very upset about this situation

Fantastic experience: I've been coming here for years and these folks have been nothing but great to me shout out to miss Susan Xavier the front desk staff everyone is just amazing yeah they get a little hectic with being busy but it's no different than someone have to do it right and because of them being so good is on to why they have so many people they take all types of insurance even if you want to get something done that your insurance may not pay for they work with you like I got three Bridges for $1,500 $500 a piece so that's love Shalonda H

Negative experience: Pressing me too get in implant I never asked for. The tooth that’s bothering me is the tooth they not even worried about. I went in today just to get directed around the building like a child for nothing.

Fantastic experience: Have been going to this dentist for years. Friendly service and very understanding. I have only had issues with timing and some communication. Otherwise has been a great experience.

Negative experience: The people at the front desk and the dentists are pretty nice or at least cordial but they take what too long, one to two hours behind. They asked me to pay online for a bill because they said my insurance didn't cover as much as they thought it would and then try to charge me again. I didn't receive a statement for my first 3 visits. After the 4th visit. I noticed that my payment wasn't included. I try to get in contact with the billing lady for 3 weeks. I went in person twice and left my name and number and called multiple times leaving a voicemail. They never got back to me. Today, I went during my lunch time and she was in the office. As soon as she saw me, she didn't even wait for me to enter the room, she tells me very condescendingly "The things you don't understand is that this procedure was not sent to your insurance because the insurance wouldn't cover it." I tried to tell her multiple times that the numbers are not correct but she would rudely interrupt me saying that I don't understand. I finally just showed her the photo of the payment I made online stating that I paid and after checking she tells me that they don't know who does they online payments so it doesn't show up on the statements. So they are charging people twice because they don't know their own system and when someone tries to get it fixed, they get ignored and belittled. I wouldn't recommend. The billing lady was super rude from start to finish. I shouldn't have had to spend 3 weeks to fix this problem. And now the added problem that they didn't send all of my procedures to my insurance company, they just assumed that it wouldn't be covered just like they told me I had to pay a certain amount and was later told that they estimate was wrong and that I owed more.

Fantastic experience: I was a brand new patient and came in for an emergency visit as I’m new to the Cleveland area. Everyone was so amazing and helpful and sweet. I was really taken back by how great and efficient everyone was. highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I've been coming to Hylan Dental for 15+ years. Always friendly and professional, accommodating and compassionate for those of us with consistent and painful problems. When I started my journey, I refused to smile. I can honestly say the team here has given me back my confidence and comfort with myself. I will ALWAYS recommend this team to anyone I know.

Fantastic experience: The staff was very nice and friendly, very knowledgeable patient and kind and they don’t have a very long wait. The fact that I am terrified of the dentist doesn’t make it any better but I don’t feel so anxious when I have to wait so long. Most people hate going to the dentist but it helps to be kind and patient with your patients and get them in and out helps a whole lot! Dr. Bevel is amazing and has a great demeanor about himself!

Fantastic experience: My favorite dental clinic. They take care of you the best they can. The times I've gone, they have gotten me dental service that same day and almost no wait time. Everyone there is really friendly and awesome to talk to. They explain everything so you understand and you can ask any questions. Prices are really good also. Will definitely recommend it.
