Negative experience: Worst dentist ive been to went in for two bad teeth got sold a bunch of procedures i dont need walked out with my two teeth in pain and charged 9 hundred .they didint even bother to hear my complaints just wanted money .never going back to this place ever they allso charged me 8 hundred on my card with out my consent and will not refund me my money i was told theres nothing i can due to get a refund basically im screwed on my money they took with out services i did not get this is frad plain and simple

Negative experience: I have waited more than 2 hours to get called my name. When I get in to lobby to check in there were 6-7 people. After they all called out to go inside I thought it is going to be my turn. But lot of latinos came in and checked in. But you guess what If Latinos come in they will get queue bump in line automatically no matter how many people already in front of them. Maybe thats because receptionists are Latinos. Btw I am asian

Negative experience: Very Disappointed – Would Not Recommend This was the worst experience I’ve had. I booked for 2 PM but ended up waiting until 5 PM — completely unacceptable. The place is poorly managed, and the wait was a waste of time. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone.

Negative experience: DO NOT LET THESE PEOPLE WORK ON YOUR TEETH!!! they have no clue what they're doing past fillings and maybe extractions. I paid $ 2800 over a year with a finance plan for this crown, went through all the hassle, and it broke while eating pizza. Only had it for a year and a half. I spent the afternoon crying in the dentist chair while the employees walked around silently and acted like I was overreacting. I don't have the money to cover a surgical extraction or an implant. The girl who told me this was the best option was lying to maximize profits, and I see that now. I literally don't know what to do. If you can, I'd highly advise you to stay away. Edit: I'm editing this review almost 6 months later, and im happy to say that I went to the Courthouse and made Western Dental pay for the damages in full. Although only after being gaslit and shamed by the entire facility and all of its employees. If you value your smile, do not come to this location!!!

Fantastic experience: I recently visited the dentist prior to my upcoming appointment due to an issue I’ve been having with my front crown tooth. I expressed my concerns to Jojo, the manager, and I truly appreciated how she handled the situation. She immediately acknowledged the problem and could clearly see the issue with the crown. I also brought up my dissatisfaction with the person who previously worked on it, and Jojo didn’t dismiss my concerns but instead, she validated them and told me she would look further into what happened. That level of accountability and willingness to follow up helped put me at ease for the time being. I’m hoping for a better resolution moving forward, but I’m grateful for how Jojo handled it during my visit. ****Update 6/17/35**** I had a good cleaning from Jocelyn, she was a great help.

Negative experience: Total scammers! They cancelled an appointment I made for a critically needed crown so they could reschedule me for unneeded x-rays and ridiculous upselling of completely unneeded $1500 out-of-pocket ‘gum treatments’. Check them out in the Better Business Bureau website: BBB Rating = *F* Reasons for rating: Failure to respond to 580 complaint(s) filed against business. The clinicians onsite seem thoughtful, but the company is a money-grubbing disaster. P.S. If you see 5 star reviews here, they are more than likely forced on people by the staff. It seems that they have been payed to cajole patients into writing positive reviews. I fell for it myself at first. Never again!

Negative experience: Any positive rating here is fake and pressured. Currently waiting for my sons teeth cleaning it's 245pm and appointment was scheduled at 1030. While here I have witnessed 3 DIFFERENT patients yelling at the staff for VARIOUS reasons. Came to look at reviews and is exactly what I expected.

Negative experience: Western Dental is a good and very nice place. However, one issue we experienced was the long wait times, often exceeding three hours. Even if you arrive early for your appointment, you can still end up waiting for more than three hours. This duration feels like a waste of time. I hope they can address and improve this situation.

Positive experience: As others have written, they do seem to have a tendency to overbook, I can’t 100% say it’s their fault however, as there are many patients that need dental work and too few dentists, and some procedures take longer than others, which is understandable. If you only have basic insurance (which is true for the majority of people) one will always deal with long queues. Despite the wait, however, I have no issue with the medical care received from them, I got a cleaning and a filling done same day, and a root canal previously and don’t have any complaints about their work. The dentist I had was Anny Paz and she took very good care of me and was very thorough.

Negative experience: You will end up waiting a lot just to get seen & he done. Only go here if you have hours to wait. By far, the worst experience. My first appointment was at 9:30am; I didn’t get called in until 10:40am, and even then, I had to wait a lot (get xray, then wait, get cleaning, then wait). I was out of the office at 12:30pm. What should have been an hour long appointment took three+ hours. I scheduled a second appointment for 11am and still wasn’t seen by 11:30am. After which, I decided to cancel and leave. I won’t be coming back.

The dental assistants were professional, and the dentist took the time to explain the procedure. The wait time was a bit longer than expected, but overall, the care I received was good. Convenient location too.

Negative experience: I had to give it a second chance, keeping it positive. First visit, unable to complete my X-rays after 2 hours waiting I was asked to bring a doctor letter. Np, I'll come back. Second visit, came in with a doctor letter. First impression, why is there so many people waiting at the waiting room. All seats taken, others standing next to each other. I preferred to wait outside. No problem. Agreed to call me when my turn is ready. Appt at 2pm. It's 5pm no call yet. Front desk said it could take 30-60 more min. Really 4 hours!!! Reality you come here with an appointment at a certain time, but you could wait hours just to be seen. Future reference, if you really want to be assisted at this place, plan to wait all day. Lack of professionalism , lack of communication, and lack of understanding there are other important things to do than wasting your time.

Negative experience: Worse service I’ve ever experienced. I waited 2 hours for my name to be called, got my X-rays done , then proceeded to wait another 1hour and 40 minutes. I just got up and left . No one checked on me, no one let me know what was going on. Zero consideration for my time. I had to call off work in hopes they would see me in time.I had an appointment yet people who came in after me was seen before me. Very unprofessional will never come here again. I recommend you wouldn’t either unless you wanted your time wasted.

Negative experience: This review is LONG overdue. The staff that provides care are decent. I've been a patient here for over 2 years, and I consistently have to wait 2-3 hours to receive care. I work in healthcare as well, so I understand that the doctors, hygienist, and X-ray techs work very hard to provide care for such a big patient load. The main problem of this clinic is the communication. On MULTIPLE instances, the office fails to communicate effectively. When I initially needed a crown treatment, the doctor suggested that I get a root canal treatment first. After talking to my insurance, they told me that they need my X-rays to process my referral. The office denies seeing such a request. That's fine. I called multiple times to request for X-rays to be sent to me directly, but they have failed this simple task. Each time I call the phone rep from this location, they would give me a random excuse - lunch break, didn't receive request, etc etc. After sensing my frustration through the phone, they will purposely ignore and put me on hold. Very unprofessional. After waiting over 1 month FOR JUST X-RAYS, I would go in-person, and they clarified that I have to sign a consent form for my x-rays to be released. This information was never given to me at any point, delaying the care that I need. When I finally came in for my crown treatment, I was notified that I had to wait longer than usual. That is fine. I am used to waiting 3+ hours at this office anyways. After waiting for nearly 2 hours, the front staff tells me that I don't have an appointment and I will have to be rescheduled.. This is AFTER checking me in AND telling me to sit and wait. WTF? 6 months later.... I come in for a regular cleaning and examination. After waiting for 1 hour, I was taken in by the X-ray tech. As soon as the X-rays were taken, I was dismissed. He tells me that the front staff should have told me that I will not be seen today by the doctor due to a busy schedule. Once again, no one has communicated this until an hour long wait. Today, I walked into the office directly to request for X-rays be sent to my email, so I can receive care elsewhere. I go home and open my email. Once again, they fail to deliver this simple task. The only time you will receive thorough communication is going over payment for treatment plan. The staff members work very hard to control the chaos. But they lack a sense of cohesiveness and delivery of communication. And this all stems from management. Proper management can fix all of this. Please stay away from this office if you value the health of your teeth.

My front tooth chipped when I bit a fresh waffle from Mochill Mochidonut in SF. A hidden stone/sand in the waffle severely damaged my tooth. I was in pain and worried about my Image with a broken tooth. Western Dental helped me. While I tried various emergency dental and can't get any appointment sooner, Ace in Western Dental SF Office offered me an appointment today. She, along with Maya and Lorena are always professional and helpful. Macos took care of my X-Ray and carefully avoided the painful area of my broken tooth. Joni performed a thorough dental cleaning for me, very skilled. Finally, Dr. Afshar went out of her way to fix my broken tooth. She is such an expert that my broken tooth looked perfect after, even better than before the accident. She sacrificed her lunch time to squeeze me in and she did a terrific job. Thank you, Dr. Afshar and Western Dental! I have been with this office for 20 years and have witnessed their efforts and dedication. Two thumbs up!

Negative experience: Worst visit ever. Lady treated my sister very rudely, she was speaking to her as if she didn’t know english and assumed so due to my sisters skin color. Even after my sister spoke English the lady continued to speak very slow as if she didn’t understand!!! ALSO this lady forced my sister to write a review about her and stood over her shoulder making sure she pressed 5 stars!! Clearly she knew what she did was wrong and was trying to cover it up

Fantastic experience: Let me tell you about you Dr.Afshar M one if the best Dr I have had in a long time. She ordered me a crown that the engineer messed up on she sent it back and made sure it was a crown I was happy with. She corrected them and told me how it was supposed to be we got it done today and it fit perfect thanks to her she is one of the best in San Francisco dentist make sure you guys acknowledge her work because she patient with us and berry good thanks you.
