Fantastic experience: I called for an emergency visit and they immediately got me scheduled. After a simple fix, I was scheduled promptly for hygiene checkup, and I was offered a savings plan since I don't have insurance. Everyone I encountered in the office was kind, caring and professional, from the front desk to the doctor. Dr Henley and Shirley are very pleasant and I enjoyed meeting and talking with some of the peoplewho took care of me! I also have to say the office is very clean and beautiful.

Fantastic experience: The dentist and dental hygienist were amazing. They spoke everything through with me in a calm, separate space before my dental exam. Everything was client centered and I felt like my comfort was their priority!

Fantastic experience: Norge dental has saved my teeth. I didn’t take care of them when I was younger and came they for the first time after not going to a dentist for years. After a lot of work my teeth are 100% better and when their instruction I’ve been able to maintain it. I always enjoy coming to the office and no one ever makes me feel guilty about coming in. It’s so sad it has to be my last visit due to the changes of charging the clients huge amounts upfront. I have always thought the purpose of having insurance was so that I wouldn’t be surprised with a $3,000 bill. Stulen was my Doctor and Giana was my Hygenist and they were both great at explaining things and very gentle and caring. They have definitely made the dentist less scary!

Fantastic experience: I had the pleasure of seeing the hygienist, Lisa. I was overdue for a cleaning and she was kind and thorough. I also had an area of concern. Dr. Henley checked my teeth and found I have a cracked tooth. While I am not excited to have treatment done, I know there is no better place to care for me and my smile. Kudos for a positive experience!!

Fantastic experience: I'm from out of town and had a dental emergency, I called and they had me worked in for an exam in a couple of hours, then on the way to my appointment got into a traffic jam and couldn't make it on time, I called to let them know and they still managed to work me in a little later, once inside the ladies were very friendly and welcoming, got my exam and meds prescribed and an appointment a few days later, I would highly recommend these fine ppl.

Fantastic experience: Nothing but ladies seen and delt with and everyone was wonderful and very informative....I had lots of questions and they did not rush and answered all with a very detailed answer. I hate dentist offices and the entire experience was pleasant and comfortable from start to finish. The receptionist at the front counter, the dental assistant, the dentist and the check out lady we're all wonderful! Highly recommend!

Negative experience: Absolutely outstanding experience. Everyone was so outgoing, friendly and extremely informative. Wonderful to be part of such a dedicated staff and oddly enough look forward to my next visit. (Before) Now here’s the remark for lower star rating. Originally told that Blue Cross Blue Shield was accepted, came to find out Norge Dental is suddenly “out of coverage” with them. Paid over $10,000 out of pocket. We love Norge too much to take legal action, the staff is just too amazing.

Fantastic experience: First visit. Quite different from all other initial dental visits. Instead of focusing in on costs and payment options, Norge Dental actually care about patients dental needs and experience while getting care. The Dentist assigned for your care meets with you before and after treatment. Dental Hygienist is takes you from greeting through xrays, cleaning, dentist final check and then checkout. All folks extremely pleasant and comforting. This approach may ease my discomfort for future dental visits.

Negative experience: This has become a "Profit First - Patient Second" practice. They stopped being "in network" for all insurances and try and push their own "plan" which doesn't cover much of anything. Since they are "out of network" for all insurance plans you have to pay for everything out of pocket up front and hope you get reimbursed at least a small percentage by your insurance.

Fantastic experience: Had a simple ‘emergency’, I called at 7:30am & was in the office being seen by a tech & a DDS by 9. I received excellent care from wonderful people. The facility is huge but bright & pleasant. I would definitely use this office for primary care if I lived in the area.

Fantastic experience: Changing dentists after 30 years is daunting! After much thought and many personal recommendations for Dr. Johnston and his practice, I am delighted that I have made the right decision! From my first phone contact with the coordinator, and then meeting the hygienist and Dr. Johnston in person, I cannot say enough good things about my initial experience. Every interaction from the time I walked into the office was positive. Dr. Johnston and his entire staff made me feel welcome, listened to, and supported. I am delighted (and relieved) to have found this amazing practice!

Fantastic experience: As a long-time patient with Norge Dental, my recent visit was again a 5-star experience. Giana (dental hygienist), Eve (receptionist; billing), and Dr. Stulen (dentist) were professional and courteous. My 6-month visits to Norge Dental have verified Benjamin Franklin's famous advice that "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure." Dr. Henley, Kathryn (dental hygienist), and Leslie (billing; scheduling) were excellent. Dr. Henley not only replaced an ancient crown but also provided some knowledge about wines. Kathryn provided lots of helpful information about dental care following the crown-replacement procedure. All these individuals were courteous and knowledgeable. Another 5-star experience at Norge Dental. Wendy (office), Leslie (hygienist), and Dr. Hawley were excellent. My appointment was on-time to the minute and received courteous and professional assistance by all three members of this group. They are superb. Norge Dental Center has been my place for dental care for the past six years. The skill and professionalism of everyone that I have dealt with there have been consistently excellent. Kaitlin, RDH has been my dental hygienist during that time. She has always been superb. I look forward to my regular visits every six months to not only get my teeth cleaned and checked, but also to speak with her during the brief interludes. In all instances, Kaitlin's advice has been excellent for improving my dental hygiene. Christi at the front desk is always pleasant and efficient. In addition, the interior decore of the facility is remarkable (e.g., large waterfall in the lobby). The instrumentation is fully up-to-date, including procedures during the pandemic. Christina Thomas, RDH was my hygienist in November 2020. She too was skilled, knowledgeable, and patient with my several technical questions. Excellent people!

By far, the best customer service, knowledge, and experience I have ever had at any dentist. Fantastic experience: Professional, friendly staff from the front desk to the dental chair. Jackie was my hygienist and was excellent. She explained each step she was taking and was patient throughout the procedure. She talked easily with me, gave me updates on my dental care and answered all my questions. Dr. Amber Hogan was also friendly, thorough and listened to all Jacki’s details while attending to me.

Fantastic experience: I had another urgent dental issue - a gold filing came out from a Beet gummy! Dr Johnston was on ER call and knew exactly which filling it was. So I could wait until Monday. No pain at all. Dr Henley and his assistant Katie got my gold filing reinstalled when he deemed it was still viable and would be fine to reglue it back!. How cool is that!

Not used to paying everything up front and then waiting for my insurance to reimburse me. Seems all dentist in Williamsburg do it this way. Not sure is a growing trend or a regional idiosyncraty.

Positive experience: Staff professionalism and treatment is 5-star. I've been an 18 -year regular patient. Since Norge Dental no longer accepts my Delta Dental insurance, my 6-month "cleaning" cost has gone from about $25 per visit to almost $300 - after my dental insurance payment. VALUE = 0 stars. I'll be searching for a new Dental provider.

Fantastic experience: I recently had extensive dental work done by Dr Stulen and her assistant. Dr Stulen was able to save 2 of my upper molars other dentists said had to be extracted and put in 3 crowns and did 2 fillings. I usually feel bad foe the rest of the day after fillings and crown work. I didn’t feel terrible for the rest of the day after dr Stulen’s work. I am so happy with the experience

Positive experience: Normally, a great experience. Upon checking out I was asked to pay the charge for the dental visit/cleaning. I questioned why, as it was the prior practice to file insurance and await their payment. I was advised that they no longer follow those practices, and request payment in full after services. Was advised these new proceedings were effective January 1, 2025, when they became a non-network facility with my insurance. I asked why I hadn’t been advised prior to my visit and this was verified by the “check-out person” who indicated she did not know why notice had not been provided. Not a great way to treat a patient who has been with this practice 10+ years. I would have liked to be afforded this opportunity to investigate other in- network dentists and possibly changed practice. Not easy being a senior these days!

If there was one thing I would change, I wish they would've let me know about them being out of network. We made our appointment before the change so that was an unexpected situation. Hopefully, our insurance will cover it with no problem so we can continue to go.

Positive experience: I have been seeing the dentist at Norge for many years that are great but under the new insurance I am unable to go there anymore with them being out of network for all insurance I lost two weeks of pay just to be seen for 1 tooth. I sure hope everyone in this mix reconsiders what patients are going through .

Fantastic experience: The Team at Norge Dental Center are absolutely incredible! From the appointment scheduling, check in , consult , your esthetically pleasing and uniformed staff,appointment,and check out. Our very first experience was on 3/6 Dr. Hogan took great care of my husband. She did a phenomenal job explaining what happened and what needed to be done. Her assistant Alora? was exceptional as well. Our regular dental office is definitely in the stone ages compared to your practice. A big shout out to Abby who made things happen from the first phone call my husband was actually on a 6 week wait to get his tooth extracted! When Alora?? performed the x ray we immediately were informed that the tooth was cracked and it was in HD on the computer screen within seconds!The xray that was done on Tuesday at our former dentist office was obsolete! You all gave me the best birthday gift after all, my husband’s pain will be alleviated come Monday and I can send him back to work! Thank you for your exceptional care, service,and attention to our needs! Dr. Johnston your TEAM ROCKS!

Positive experience: This is an absolutely great practice. I’ve been a patient here for more than 2 years but the choice of this practice to no longer take ANY insurance is a choice I cannot support. I’ve had nothing but great experiences with this practice but now I can’t use my insurance to continue to receive the same. Not every person can pay $600 for a cleaning, fluoride, and xays while paying monthly premium. This practice was a 5 star plus prior to 1/2025. I would use this practice unless you have excess cash in reserve.

Negative experience: I feel as though the dentist office has gotten greedy and they want us to pay out of network prices and cash out-of-pocket and then they’ll submit our insurance claim for us to get paid back? What kind of foolishness is that? This has been my dentist office for over 10 years and I will never do that!

Fantastic experience: The staff at Norge Dental is very friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable. I have been going to Norge Dental probably 16 years and would not go anywhere else. Shirley Vermillion is my hygienist and I absolutely love her! She is thorough, does not cause you any pain, and is a true professional! The doctors are also the best both technically and personality wise. It is great to have such an experienced and educated dental office here in Williamsburg!

Fantastic experience: As always, an excellent experience. When we moved an hour and a half from Williamsburg, we continued going to the Norge Dental Center. They’re that good. Dr. Henley and Katherine always see to my comfort in the chair as I can be like a cat sometimes with my flight or fight fears from a phobia. They even provide me with a comfy pillow and offer a blanket if I’m chilled.
