Abington Smile Center- Same Day Emergency and Implant Dentist

Fantastic experience: I have to share my experience, had a dental emergency and had to find a dentist fast and that took my insurance! I am already an anxiety ridden dental patient so the unknown made me even more nervous but i honestly couldn’t have chosen a better practice , from my initial call, to entering the beautiful, calming, clean office and all the steps that followed with the dental assistant and the dentist I was made to feel extremely comfortable and listened too ! Abington Smile is definitely my new dentist ! Thank you Abington Smile Center ! Update , went back for the extraction and same welcoming calming experience, will definitely be making my full time dental care ( Dentist Mary Jo (and wish I could remember the gentleman assistants name ) and whole staff were amazing )

I received deep cleaning & implant services. I'm getting a crown next. I am disabled & I love the ground floor walk-in to the building. They worked with me & my insurance co. in a great way. This dentistry is a place to consider if you're in need or just want to maintain healthy teeth. I highly recommend them! 5 ⭐ is what I meant!!

Fantastic experience: The front desk staff was very pleasant & didn’t have a problem explaining why a few people that came in after me were called to be seen before me. The doctors & assistant was very understanding & sympathetic to my pain of having “dry socket” they treated it with dry socket paste & gave me a little to take home to hold me til Monday when I go back to see my primary dentist. If I didn’t live so far away I would switch my dental office to Abington Smile Center

Negative experience: Went for emergency extraction, the lady broke my top tooth when the tooth came out from the bottom with the plyers. I get to the pharmacy and realize she left the extracted tooth IN MY MOUTH! THEN when I complained nobody apologized just made excuses saying accidents happen and nobody is perfect! EXCUSE ME?! Then had to get a root canal on the tooth she broke, requested a different dentist and she took 3 hours to complete this root canal!!! And when I asked about the abundance of xrays between the two visits the ghetto ass dentist assistant got an attitude like she was annoyed with me asking questions! How about that’s your JOB! Whole experience was ghetto. If I didn’t have to go back for my permanent crown they would never see me again!

Fantastic experience: This was my 2nd visit, after an initial emergency visit which ended as 2 root canals/2 crowns.. I’ve never had a root canal before and I’ve heard they can be a nightmare. I was so at ease and a minimal amount of discomfort. Kudos to the entire team as they are all kind & compassionate with the patients at this practice. Truly going above and beyond!

Fantastic experience: Great service. Saw me for an emergency appointment on a Saturday morning right away. I had a broken infected tooth that was excruciating. They extracted it & i was in and out in less than an hour. All of the staff we friendly & professional. If you don't have insurance, their prices are very reasonable! Thank you!

Fantastic experience: Good afternoon I went today for a Root Canal just by hearing the word it’s terrified. The staff called my name got me ready mine I’m still terrified, until Dr. Phillip came in explain the procedure he stated if I felt any pain to let him know so he can inject me with a little more anesthesia. But he is such an Exceptional Doctor that I didn’t need any more he was so concern with me being so nervous that it didn’t hurt at all and he calm me down. In a blink of an eye I was done and with no pain or discomfort. Thank you so much Dr. Phillip and Staff I will be recommending your office to my family and friends

Fantastic experience: My grandmother had a dental emergency and needed a tooth extraction urgently. The team at the dental clinic was extremely responsive and compassionate. From the moment I walked in the woman at the front desk (Jai) was so sweet and caring. They prioritized my case and made sure I felt comfortable and my grandmother was cared for throughout the entire process. The Dentist Phillip!! Was highly professional, gentle, and efficient, making a stressful situation much easier to handle. My grandmother and are so grateful for their prompt and excellent care during this difficult time. Positive experience: The office was very welcoming, friendly staff and the Doctor that did my cleaning was the nicest person you could ever meet. The only thing is that it seems like it’s short staff since a doctor did my cleaning and not a hygienist. Also, first time getting a cleaning and not receiving a toothbrush or toothpaste sample. In every dental cleaning I have ever had I have always received a little bag to take home with toothpaste and toothbrush. Not really sure about this office. Really makes me wonder. You were rated 3 stars because that is what I feel you deserve. Not only because of a toothbrush the office did not deserve a 5 star rating. I scheduled online for a new patient appointment and the website states if you want a cleaning to call the office which I did. However when taken back for exam no one knew I was supposed to get a cleaning. Informed staff that I told them on the phone if I could not get a cleaning in the same day I would reschedule and I was then scheduled for a cleaning, mind you no one else knew this. I was prepared to leave and reschedule as no one is going to come for X-rays and an exam and come back for a cleaning. A by the way the person responding to the review is completely unprofessional as is the office. If you don’t want the truth don’t ask for reviews. Mind you this was my first and last visit to this place. Try investing in a better attitude towards your patients.

Negative experience: I visited a doctor for a same-day appointment, which took only 5 minutes. On top of my regular insurance bill, I was charged an additional $102.99 for same day appointment, which never mentioned during the phone call for scheduling. Unfortunately, the visit did nothing to address my issue. If possible, I would rate this experience zero stars due to the lack of effective care and the extra cost.

Negative experience: This was an absolute tragedy. I was to have at least 2 tooth removed. Xrays were taken. Shortly thereafter the dentist came in and reviewed the xrays and look in mouth and said, ill be back. She never returned but sent a tech who told me that i would need to pay $700 in a very unprofessional manner. Asked for t he doctor who was with another patient at the time. I wanted her to explain the films and hopefully she could have told me why she recommended such an expensive procedure. Two weeks later and I still have the bad teeth. They also offered $300 loan leaving a $400 balance.. nothing is simple now. I have Medicaid, Medicare and Medicare advantage and va Healthcare. It's bad. The doctor never came to talk with me and I should pay her $700.

Fantastic experience: I had a consultation and deep cleaning done at this location and am very satisfied with the service. I was nervous that the procedure may be painful but Miyong has amazing expertise which led to astonishingly low pain process.

Fantastic experience: This is by far the best dentist I’ve been to! They are always so friendly and quick to get you out of the waiting room to one of the rooms in the back. They are all so nice and fun to talk to. The only downside I had this time was I waited quite some time before the cleaning started but that’s nitpicking compared to the service I got. Negative experience: Botched my root Canal. I had a root canal a few months back long story short it still hurts. I went back requested a different dentist. They did X-rays said it looked ok maybe just needed to be filed down. I went to a different dentist location the next day and they prayed and there is infection ,missed part of nerve and the crown is placed wrong. Don't know how they missed that. I called and reception told me a manager was going to call me back. I never got a call. Looks like I have to get my lawyer involved to get my 3000k back for this BS root canal.

Fantastic experience: Had a permenamt crown from another dentist fall out, and I called Friday evening. They were able to take me on Saturday morning and quickly re-cemented the crown better than the original dentist's (different practice) original shoddy work. They also took my insurance so I left paying a tiny copay. All of this on Easter weekend! Good job!

I called and they scheduled me for today with a different dentist (which was ok with me). I met a very lovely redhead female dentist today. She double numbed me since I was in so much pain. Negative experience: At first they were good but after root canals not being done right and two years later getting infected needs more they won’t do it or my cavity the hygienist was rude about my mouth like there has to be other places that except upmc

Fantastic experience: I came to this office with a mouth full of work due to years of no treatment from being in so many dental offices that treated me badly and couldn’t accommodate my anxiety in which I was also deferred and referred to a special needs dentist which I never went because I was offended and I’m so happy I found you guys. who’ve made me feel so happy about my smile. You guys have been extremely supportive through every single step of the way. All the staff is sweet understanding and caring. If I had to rate you guys I wouldn’t have a rating because it’s off the charts exceptional thank you for everything and I’d have to say I love yall recommend, recommend, recommend times 1000000000000. Don’t be alarmed if you keep getting new patients they were I will be referring every chance I get. My teeth aren’t perfect but their better because of their amazing caring doctors.

Negative experience: I would NEVER go there again. The reception in the left ( not Marlene) is rude and have some sort of mental problems, to say the least ( take it out on the mirror) the dr ( the owner of the establishment try to tell me what was wrong with my own tooth. They should be shut down. I really hope that business fails. KARMA NEVER MISSES AN ADDRESS

Fantastic experience: If I could give SIX stars I would!! These are the first dental professionals I've been to that I leave with NO discomfort and ZERO pain. I went in for a routine cleaning and x-rays, they discovered that I would need a filling and a crown. They were able to put in a temporary crown immediately (and now I am awaiting the permanent crown in about a week). Everyone is completely professional and friendly, treating me like family, and making the whole experience enjoyable and relaxing (yes I know its very unusual to call a visit to the dentist either of those, but it's true!). I would highly recommend for anyone who has had reservations and dread going to the dentist. A special shout out to Jai the receptionist, an amazing and wonderful young woman who really makes you feel at home and an absolute joy to talk to! Thanks so much to Hadeel (I hope i spelled that right) the dentist, and Jackie and Amalka, you guys are wonderful as well! The offices are clean and well lit, with relaxing shades of purple and blue. I can't wait to go back for whatever dental needs I have!

Negative experience: They saw me for a first visit/check up 2 weeks ago. They had me schedule another appointment for today to have my teeth cleaned. I see it's just another $bill$ for the insurance to split it up like that, but okay, I go in today for the cleaning and the staff doesn't know what I am there for and we're ready to take another full set of X-rays for my exam. I explained that I already had my exam and X-rays taken. She then goes on to say "well you came in for an emergency visit and with pain, so...". I stopped her, and explained that I have no pain or an emergency. I was told to schedule again for a cleaning and here I am, for a cleaning only. That's very concerning, they don't keep the correct information on my file.
