Pediatric Dental Specialists of Western Colorado

Fantastic experience: We switched dental offices because the last place would get frustrated with my kids and yelled at my 2 year old for bitting her. We LOVE PDS! They are very gentle, caring and take the time with the kids. I am so happy we made the switch. My kids actually like going to the dentist now! Especially for the cool coin dispenser prizes at the end of the visit!

Negative experience: While the providers are great and treat the children with respect , the same can not be said about the office manager. They recently changed locations and the ONLY communication given was the day of text confirmation address was different. No sign on previous location, no specific email/text regarding moving. Was told by the manager “we have a thousand patients”, “when we send a text we expect it to be read”, and “we are still seeing you even though your late so what’s the problem?”. There were multiple cars at the previous location so I clearly was not the only one who was not communicated with. They made no attempts to ask how they could have communicated the changes better. If they can not even see how effective communication is imperative, what happens if my child has a serious concern? From this experience I would have to assume it would be ignored as well.

Fantastic experience: I would like to express my sincere appreciation for the exceptional service provided by this dental office. From the moment we arrive at the front desk to the care received in the treatment areas, our experiences have consistently been outstanding. Both of my children have undergone dental procedures here, and they genuinely look forward to their visits. The team prioritizes making the environment enjoyable and ensuring the comfort of their young patients. Having had a challenging experience at the dentist during my own childhood, I am particularly grateful for the compassionate approach taken by Dr. Beck and the entire staff. Their commitment to creating positive experiences for children is commendable. Thank you, Dr. Beck, for the excellent care you provide to my children.

Fantastic experience: My daughter needs a good amount of work done and they did not make us feel guilty or like bad parents. They explained everything well and made our daughter very comfortable . We are nervous about the upcoming work but feel confident they will keep our baby safe. Update: today we went back for some more dental work and this time she was awake and on nitrous Dr cox talked to her so nice the whole time and made her feel comfortable and safe thank you both Dr cox and his dental assistant ☺️

Fantastic experience: My child is AuDHD with intense anxiety. They took such good care of her! They went at her pace, checked in with her, kept telling her how well she was doing, and made her feel so much better about dentists than any other practice we've been to! I highly recommend this practice for your child(ren)!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Beck, Jrodan. And the whole staff were extremely professional and fun. My son felt safe and was not nervous at all. Dr beck was able to save my sons teeth while others thought they'd need pulled. 100 percent recommend.

Fantastic experience: We’ve worked with Dr. Rodgers for our son’s tongue tie and Dr. Cox for his lip tie. Both doctors were very welcoming and wonderful. They answered all our questions and made us feel at ease. Dr. Rodgers even called to follow up with us after his procedure. They both really know how to work with kids and families. We definitely recommend them for your child’s dental needs.

Fantastic experience: The doctor was very knowledgeable, interacted easily with my 3year old, and made him comfortable for the cleaning and exam. The office is very efficient and seems like a well oiled machine. If I could give more then 5 stars I would!

Fantastic experience: Everyone at Pediatric Dental Specialists is incredibly kind, accepting and patient. As a parent to an Autistic child, dental appointments are a nerve-wracking experience and the whole staff here has always made our kiddos feel understood and welcomed. We are grateful to have found such a wonderful practice for our littles.

Fantastic experience: They were absolutely amazing through the whole process of dental surgery with my 5 year old son. They fully explained to us both every step of what was happening and why and did amazing work. The anesthesia went extremely smoothly and my son loves going there because he always gets a toy and everyone is so nice to him. We will never go anywhere else. UPDATE: Still an excellent experience at every visit, and we’ve been back several times. I don’t know what happened with that other woman who wrote the scathing review, but I’m assuming her real name is “Karen,” and she leaves a trail of negative ratings and stories wherever she goes, probably due to her own behavior. Dr. Cox is a nice and professional man, and I can’t see that scenario playing out as she describes. NO dentist would start drilling without anesthetic unless requested by the patient and fully discussed prior to the procedure. If the story were true, she’d be in court, not on Google reviews. Her review really got me stirred up because it’s basically slander. I’d advise the consumer to disregard her one star rant. You and your kids will be pleased after going to PDS.

Fantastic experience: We LOVE Dr Beck! So much so we fly in several times a year to have our kids dental needs taken care of. He is so kind and the kids are really at ease with him when is stress off of us.

He got all of his teeth brushed and did a full exam something that's never been done before ! Absolutely amazed and appreative! Very understanding and accommodating of my son! Thank you!

Fantastic experience: I usually don’t have a strong opinion of medical or dental places right away, but I was very impressed by everyone who interacted with my kids here! They all did great! They made my kids feel comfortable and didn’t force anything until they were ready. I’m impressed! We will definitely stick with Pediatric Dental Specialists!

Fantastic experience: I've been taking my son to Pediatric Dental Specialists of Western Colorado. A warm, welcoming environment with a friendly staff. My son has autism and Dr Cox and his team have always been understanding and accommodating to his special needs.

Fantastic experience: I love Pediatric Dental Specialists of Western Colorado! By far the most professional, skilled and friendly dentist that I've found for my children in the area. They are truly leaders in their industry. I became aware of some subpar work that had been done in the past by other dentists which blew my mind because I just trusted those other places were doing things right, and had no idea they hadn't. We drive kind of far for this dentist but it's very worth it.

Fantastic experience: I am EXTREMELY impressed with this Dental office. My 3 year old wasn't scared in the slightest and sat completely still and did everything they told him to. They really really know how to talk to kids in their own language and how to make their visit comfortable and fun. I honestly wish I could put more into words. Amazing place!

Fantastic experience: We had a very scary experience last night which ended in a trip to the ER. This morning, Dr Beck was able to come in on short notice, on his day off, and extract some teeth for my little guy. I cannot say enough great things about Dr. Beck and his staff today. They took amazing care of my dude and us parents too! They made all of us incredibly comfortable and were able to keep my son happy and unaware of any pain whatsoever. We will absolutely be back and you have made life long patients of us. Or at least for the next 14 years, ha ha!

Fantastic experience: This team is truly amazing. They showed us nothing but professionalism, dedication, compassion & understanding and took great care of my 6 year old son. What a difference they have made in our lives, really. I believe my son & I can begin to heal now. Thank you so much.

Fantastic experience: We had the best experience we could ask for here with every single staff member we had contact with, after a pretty bad experience at another office this was a RELIEF! Dr. Cox and Dr. Beck are so wonderful with children, they truly care about the experience, and Dr. Smith the anesthesiologist was also incredible at what he does, especially with children. I will be recommending to all my friends with little ones!

Negative experience: The doctors are nice and friendly, but they have an absurd rule that only 1 parent can go back with your child and not both parents. They will tell you “there’s not enough room”, which is a dishonest, unreasonable excuse because you can do cartwheels over to the table where your child will be. There can be a mom and 6 kids gathered in the back but not 1 child and both parents. I also watched other parents go back with their child and when I asked the dental assistant about that she said because they requested a private room. So we asked the receptionist for a private room who brought back a different lady to talk to us and was told the private rooms have only 1 chair so there’s “not enough room to sit.” Well, one of us can stand, but no one cared about our preference to go back with our child. Not one. The only thing 3 different people would say is “there’s not enough room”, like a bunch of robots. It’s simply UNTRUE. It’s very unwelcoming for a family dentistry, that’s for sure.

Fantastic experience: Everyone at this office is so kind and gentle with the kiddos. They are really good at explaining things at their level and helping ease any fears they might have. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Cox has been a wonderful dentist for our children, our son in particular has needed pretty extensive dental work over the years and Dr. Cox has been kind and patient with him (and us) since day 1. Even with all the dental work he’s needed he now willingly walks into the dentist’s office without hesitation or fear which speaks volumes on Dr. Cox’s ability to provide the best dental experience, despite the fear and hesitation dental work can often bring.

Fantastic experience: I could not be more appreciative of the staff and Dr. Cox! We were in town visiting from another state when my 6-year-old had trauma to his tooth. They got him in the same afternoon, and everyone (especially Dr. Cox) truly went above and beyond. I can only imagine they treat their regular patients with the same level of care. I would highly recommend the practice to anyone!

Fantastic experience: They are definitely the best for kids. I walked in and they have tablets ready for the kids to use. A playhouse, movie on the screen and friendly staff. Got back after about 5min wait. The dentist assistant was professional and extremely helpful, also very sweet and courteous. The dentist was awesome got everything done quickly. Fantastic experience: 100% the best pediatric dental office in the Grand Valley! Easy scheduling, thorough appointments that include a lot of advice on the techniques to keep growing teeth healthy. I wouldn't take my daughter anywhere else! They are very sensitive to sensory and spectrum patients.

Fantastic experience: Amazing experience. Dr. Cox did such a wonderful job with our newborn. He was very gentle and caring. Gave great explanations of procedures and explained why they were beneficial. Took his time but also didn’t waste anytime since newborns can get fussy quickly. Highly recommend

Fantastic experience: This place is absolutely amazing! My son is only 3 and was terrified and the dentist even brought out a bubble gun for him. All the staff is extremely friendly and understanding! Wont take my kids anywhere else but here!

Fantastic experience: The staff was very friendly and helpful. Clean kid-friendly waiting room. Only thing I do not care for is that all of the patients are seen in the same room. There are no dividers or walls in between dental chairs. I prefer a little more privacy when dealing with dental anxiety.

Fantastic experience: I brought my 11 month-old and 3 year-old for their first dental visits. When they were scared, the dental team was able to comfort them and get smiles from each of them. They were so gentle and kept my kiddos in the loop the best they could the whole way through. I wasn’t sure about bringing my infant, but I’m so glad I did and I was able to learn how to more effectively care for his teeth. I couldn’t recommend them more highly.

Fantastic experience: All of the staff is so nice and so patient. My kid hates going to dentist, and is really shy with strangers. The dentist showed my child both tools she was going to use, and how she was going to use them. They were very fast and they helped comfort my kid during the cleaning. It was a best case scenario all because of them.

Fantastic experience: We love taking our son here. The staff are all kind and welcoming. My toddler feels safe and even enjoys being there. This is a such a small ding but there quite a few screens. Tablets mounted on walls in the waiting room with movies playing above. I can understand why they have them, I just encourage my son to play in the miniature cabin. I would like to see a few more items for families who limit screen times.

Fantastic experience: Amazing practice. From the receptionist to the dental assistant to the dentist. My little girl was at ease and had a superb experience. She was mostly excited about the duckie she got at the end!

Fantastic experience: We have been going to Pediatric Dental Specialists for quite some time now and have always been pleased with their services. All of their staff is extremely friendly and helpful and the dentists are fantastic with the kids. Their approach to interacting with the kids is fun to watch and a great experience for the kids. We came from another “local kids dentistry” and are grateful we made the switch! Best choice ever!

Fantastic experience: Wow! That's all I can say. This has to be the best dentist I have ever been to. They were so very caring and compassionate in taking care of my 8 yo daughters teeth. This place couldn't be any cleaner! The staff are always cleaning behind people. They give a coin for a prize at the end, and gave my daughter a popsicle after her procedure. The tvs in the roof when the children lay back, also help calm them, as they watch a nice kid movie. We couldn't be more pleased with Pediatric Dental Specialists. All dentists should aspire to be this good and make great experiences for kids, to help them want to go to the dentists in the future when they get older. Highly recommend this place. Fantastic experience: Great service I love that they don't sedate the children and they let a parent go back with child. Every dentist in the office does excellent work. The Front desk is very friendly and on top of things. They accomidate quickly and get the job done right.

Fantastic experience: We like how Dr Beck spends time answering any questions we have and that our little 23 month old loves getting his teeth brushed after his first appointment! Dr Beck sings while he looks at our son’s teeth so we do that now too. Makes a difference! Our son isn’t afraid and doesn’t cry

Positive experience: I would say the dental care is great and I have no complaints about that. However the office management leaves something to be desired... my last 2 visits have waisted a lot of time... this last visit with my son, I was literally the first customer in the door and was done with all paperwork before the next person was even done with talking to the receptionist. We had the first available appointment... then in the waiting room I watched at least 4 others get called back before us... They have policies to protect their time because it's so valuable but don't seem to think my time is valuable.

Fantastic experience: This was my sons vary first dentist appointment. I was nervous because I didn’t know how he was going to do. They did great explaining everything to me and reassuring me. My son did better than I thought, I think it’s because they did a great job making him feel comfortable. He even got a toy duck at the end which I think is his new favorite toy for today.

Fantastic experience: All of the staff from the first encounter at the front desk, through the whole process of the appointment and then to check out is absolutely wonderful! I brought my 1 month old in for a lip tie consultation and was so nervous for it. Dr.Cox did a wonderful job of explaining the process to me, what to expect afterwards and what to look out for. The care they show for every child they see is unmatched!!

Fantastic experience: Pediatric dental specialists and Dr. Beck are the absolute best and only place I will trust to handle my children’s dental care. My youngest had to get a filling and we were in and out in less than an hour and best of all - no fears or tears! I love that they are giving my children the opportunity to have a healthy and happy experience when it comes to dental hygiene.

Fantastic experience: This was my son’s first appointment and as a parent I was very nervous because I’ve heard horror stories of pediatric dentists. But Dr Beck was amazing with my son. He’s amazing with kiddos, had my son smiling even after brushing his teeth. He was fast and efficient and played with bobbles after to make my son laugh! 10/10 I recommend!

Fantastic experience: This is a huge dentist office with a load of kids filing through each day, however, they do an excellent job. My kids are loved on and treated very well. The dentists are very caring and explain treatments and plans EXTREMELY well. As a staff, they try to make dentist visits as cheerful as they can and I deeply appreciate their efforts.

Fantastic experience: Very friendly staff. They always make my child smile and feel comfortable here. Very clean and nice facility, with tv’s on the ceiling and the staff will give kids a coin to choose a small toy from their many coin/prize machines.

Fantastic experience: I have a 3 year old. This was his 2nd time in. Still very hesitant about going in, but Chelsey the hygienist was incredible. She made him feel so comfortable, patient, and even brushed his buzz lightyear’s teeth. He went to school showing his teacher and classmates his teeth feeling so confident! Fantastic experience: My children have been going to this practice for 11 years and we have been happy with the patience, care, and kindness the doctors and hygienists have given to our family. This is a wonderful place that cares about kids. We recently had a miscommunication in billing and insurance, but the office manager, Kari, was super kind and respectful and was able to help me resolve the issue and move forward. Thank you to Kari and the rest of the staff for providing quality customer service and care.

Fantastic experience: My son had to get a filling and they did an incredible job. Quick, efficient and making sure it was a good experience for him. He's sensitive to movies and they always turn off the movie for him. We are thankful for this office and all the dental staff, caring for each kid and thier individual needs.

Everyone is always friendly, kind and patient with my kids. A few years back we moved 3 hours away but we continue to make the drive so our kids can have the best dental care in a very accommodating and comfortable atmosphere. Fantastic experience: Everyone is always very kind, knowledgeable, and professional, and they also explain things well. They also do well at helping the children feel comfortable and each child can watch a movie the whole time. They also get to pick out a little toy at the end of each visit. My children actually ask me if they can go to the dentist and get excited when we get to go. This has been my childrens' dentist for quite a few years and I'm so thankful for them.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Beck and team are great! My little boy was terrified to have his cavities filled. The first time was a no go, but the second time was a success because they were willing to orchestrate a situation that worked best for my child. Fantastic experience: Dr. Beck was awesome. I was more nervous than my son and he did a great job of explaining things to me and my son. The technician was someone in training. I missed her name, but she was incredible.Thank you to the team !!

Fantastic experience: My 2 year old had his first dentist appointment today and they were so fantastic with him! Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a pediatric dentist. They also took our Medicaid! So awesome

Fantastic experience: Everyone here was so incredibly kind, attentive, and informative! It's easy to tell they love working with kids and want those kids to feel as safe and comfortable as possible. Fantastic experience: Wow!!! Dr. Beck and the staff are INCREDIBLE!! It was our 16 month old daughter’s first ever dentist appointment and they did a wonderful job making her (and us) feel comfortable. They even had bubbles to finish off the appointment. We all left smiling.

Fantastic experience: There are no downsides to this office. They treat me and my kids wonderfully every single time we go in. They take the time to explain everything and make sure you as a parent are comfortable before moving forward with anything. I truly could not imagine a better experience.
