Fantastic experience: I always have friendly, professional and timely service. Today I had a tooth pulled, it took Dr. Patel 5 painless minutes to pull it! My appointment was at 3:00 and by 3:29 I was on my way home! I am now 2.5 hours post pulling and haven't had pain or any problems. I'm amazed.

Fantastic experience: This appointment was for a child. His first visit to the Dentist. Support Staff was friendly. Appointment was timely. Dr Bae was very nice and helpful. We were in and out within an hour.

Negative experience: Very disappointed from start to finish. Waiting room took 1 hour. Then waiting for Dr took another 45 minutes. Need to think twice about coming back. Will try to find another place.

Positive experience: I've been coming here for years. I have never really had much of a complaint. I always try to be understanding. Today's service was by far the worst I've experienced. I had a 9AM appointment and I live 30 min away. I arrived at 8:58AM and checked in. I sat down until the front desk girl called me up and did the check in process. I went to sit down again. She then called me up a 2nd time to let me know that due to staffing there might be a little wait. I told her that was no problem and go to sit down again. She then calls me up a 3rd time and says "The Dr. wanted me to let you know that due to your appointment type, it could be up to a 40 min wait. So it's up to you if you want to wait or we can get you rescheduled". I just went ahead and rescheduled at this point but I won't be returning. My appointment type was nothing special, it was a regular 6 month check up and I'm already a month behind because of their scheduling. I will say though, the front desk lady was nice and informative. I was a little skeptical sitting on the seats because there were stains all over them and the floors. The office could use an upgrade and cleaning.

Fantastic experience: They are great at what they do and they care about everyone. My anxiety with anything is through the roof. They made sure i was okay and it was a smooth process. If you think they are unprofessional. You are wrong. Thank you familia and i will be back soon.

Fantastic experience: Awesome I had teeth pain everybody was trying to send me outta town they had the oral surgeon come down and he pulled my teeth out 15-20 mins the most no pain then after or the next day thank yall for all yall do …. Always 5 stars from me

Fantastic experience: They helped me with my son and taught me something new on my phone to help him and they did amazing on my teeth best work I have had done and was super friendly and for being 15 other people in the waiting room they got done with everything super fast only 1 hour

Fantastic experience: I don’t usually leave reviews but I overheard a parent get upset about how they had to see another clinic to get their child treated. Familia has done always right for me and my children but I know they can’t do everything. PARENTS!! If your doctors don’t feel comfortable treating ur kids there’s a good reason!!! They probably know the risks involved treating young kids and I can’t believe parents are more trying to convenience themselves of not having to put the extra effort to do the best for their own children!! Some of these parents don’t even deserve the children they call their own. Shame on them!!!

Fantastic experience: I cannot say enough wonderful things about my experience with Dr. Jakkula and the entire staff at the Peoria Familia Dental office. From the moment I walked in, I was treated with kindness, patience, and genuine care. They made every step of the process comfortable, explained everything clearly, and always made me feel like I was in the best hands. I am beyond pleased with my new dentures—they fit perfectly, feel natural, and have given me a beautiful smile I can be proud of again. The quality of their work and the attention to detail is truly exceptional. I am so grateful for the skill, compassion, and professionalism of this team. Highly recommended!

Fantastic experience: You guys were great I didn't even have an appointment and got me right in and had to have two teeth pulled thank you guys very much

Negative experience: Was informed they accepted Medicaid to cover the cost of braces for my two daughters. I drove and hour and a half away from home to get my daughters braces which they both need. The orthodontist proceeded to tell me that, yes both of my daughters need braces but it’s not “severe” enough for Medicaid to cover it and we were going to have to pay out of pocket. My one daughter has an underbite and gaps in between every single tooth in her mouth along with them being crooked. My other daughter has the same gap issue with crooked teeth as well. But not “severe” enough to bill Medicaid.

Fantastic experience: The friendliness when we arrived made us feel welcome from the start. Our wait time for both of my children’s appointments (one scheduled for 10:30, the other for 11:30) was so quick. The technician explained everything in detail to my youngest who had never been here before and she kept him smiling and feeling safe. We were out and scheduling new appoints by 10:55a. Thank you all for what you do for our community!

Negative experience: I felt like I was just one of the herd. This place is nothing but a mill, get the next "customer" in as quickly possible. The time the dentist spent cleaning my teeth was less than I spend brushing them.

Negative experience: Would give 0 build my insurance for cleanings I never had done they are terrible I never had any cleaning done just filling and water squirted in my mouth that was it no cleanings squirt water in my mouth and say there your cleaned charged insurance for a deep cleaning my gums hurt never had a deep cleaning done at all I know what cleaning and deep cleaning is and it was never done

Fantastic experience: Everyone was very nice and helpful. Came for our daughters cleaning and to see about braces got all the answers we needed and will be back next month to get her braces with our insurance this place is very affordable even though its a little far from home its worth the drive.

Fantastic experience: I am soooo thankful for this dental clinic and their staff!!! My son had an emergency I called around every where and could not get him in any where! There was no dentist that could see him in a timely manner for the situation he was facing! I called familia dental and they let me know that they do take walk-ins. They said there may be a wait but when we got there they got my son to the back right away! I was so happy! My son was treated with the medical attention and care that we needed at the time unlike the other dentists we called. He was also treated with care bc they took time to fix and to right what they didn't fix or do right at the hospital! I appreciate Familia dental SO much!

Positive experience: It was all good other than I have to wait on an insurance issue. Dentists office in general now days just do not take care of people at any office anymore even if your tooth needs to come out.

Fantastic experience: Should be called painless and fast dentistry!!! Dr. Bae is the absolute best dentist I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with! Him and his assistant were perfect in fixing all my dental problems. Couldn't believe Dr Bae was able to fix my K9 tooth to make it look normal again. Used to be a little nervous going to the dentist but with Dr. Bae their are no problems at all. So happy he will be my dentist from now on! Fantastic experience: I had a really good experience with Familia Dental in Peoria, IL as I always do! The staff was friendly and courteous and I was seen quickly. The Dentist was very courteous , friendly, knowledgeable and took the time to explain all of the details of my appointment as well as future treatments. He also explained my Xrays and the cost associated with my visit & future treatments. I don’t live in Peoria but it is always worth the 1.5 hour drive for great service! The entire staff was exceptional from the receptionist, and dental assistants to the dentist himself; they caused my visit to go from one of dread to optimism knowing that the dentist gave me a future plan of treatment that was encouraging! I will continue to make the 1.5 hour drive for quality care! I left with a smile even though my mouth was still numb from my treatment! Fantastic experience: Had a dental emergency I have an unnatural fear a terror if you will of the dentist. Dr Bay and I don't know if that's spelled correctly but Dr Bay was phenomenal came in understood what was going on and I told him it hurt and he said well that I can take care of so praise God for that! And then he referred me to somebody who could take care of the other teeth they need to be handled by the oral surgeon. I'm thankful for Dr Bay who actually listened to me. 2 years ago this review would have been much different. The dentist I saw two years ago refused to listen and send me home in pain with the same tooth it was extracted today. The extraction would have been much easier two years ago because the tooth had only broken it had not sheared off to the root. So I am thankful for Dr Bay and thankful for Familia Dental and the excellent service I received today

Negative experience: Person was moaning next to me way to packed it took 2 hours to get out and their rooms were so disgusting

Fantastic experience: The staff was wonderful. From the front desk, to the assistants and finally the dentist (Dr Bar) everyone was friendly and listened to what was wrong. It was a very busy office but they seemed to have gotten everyone in quickly. Unfortunately they were not able to pull my teeth because my roots are large and too close to the sinus cavity. But did recommend an oral surgeon and are getting in touch with my insurance to start the denture process.

Fantastic experience: Staff was very polite and attentive. Same the dentist he listen well to my concerns and was very caring.

Negative experience: Can’t even make an appointment. I called and the robot put me on the call back list. I received a call from them (after around 10 min - not a big deal) where they promptly put my on hold for more than 5 minutes. I ended up banging up because why would you call ME and then put my on hold?

Fantastic experience: Went to another dentist twice. First time got turned away saying that my (5) daughter's baby tooth would come out on its own when there's still a whole root left. This root at started to be pushed out by its adult tooth at the top of the gum. The second time I went there was today because it was causing my daughters pain and so they numbed her with lidocaine and they proceeded to break away the top part of the tooth that was sticking out of the gum at the top and leave the rest of the tooth in. While the adult tooth is beginning to come out at the bottom as well. I felt that this wasn't right and the whole baby tooth needed to be taken because it wasn't super lose and the adult tooth was past the point of pushing it out. So I decided to go to familia for a second opinion and they were absolutely wonderful. Took my daughter as a walk in and were very helpful and sweet and tooth out the tooth because it was needed and I feel very grateful. I am extremely pleased by my experience today! Thank you so much!

Negative experience: I don’t recommend anyone going to this office to anyone who needs braces. My daughter has had her braces on for a year and come to find out it’s been a wasted year and wasted money out of pocket. The doctor is very nice but can’t remember anything at all. Took my daughter elsewhere to get a consultation from two other orthodontist and the treatment familia had done has been all wrong. Not happy at all that I’ve paid this company as much money as I have to find this out.

Negative experience: I would have given them 0 stars but it wasn’t an option. Not good work, I just got my teeth cleaned today were I actually paid cash out of pocket and didn’t get what I paid for.

Fantastic experience: The lady dr that I had was very friendly and kind. I had to get a tooth pulled and she could tell i was nervous. She made sure I knew what she was doing, what to expect, and care afterwards. She made sure I was fully numb unlike other dentists I've been to. She didn't just yank and pull either she actually cut and then pulled and it was soooo much less pressure. I highly recommend her although I can't remember her name. I appriciated her bedside manner more than she'll ever know ❤️

Fantastic experience: Great job! Excellent staff of awesomely friendly & very skilled folks. Got me right in...but...Must visit in person: long wait times on the phone. Two friends were like, "They are great over at Familia." And I was like, "I tried to call Familia a couple times." And my friends were like, "You have to go in there in person: they will help you right out." Glad I finally made it to a dentist, plus Familia works with many types of insurance. I really enjoyed my visit & meeting the Familia family. --Staff were able right then to merge two separate appointments and save time. --Have a notebook to write what your dentist explains. A little better system to record and correlate this type of data could be worked on. It should be easy to pull up the record of the visit and notes from the appointment so the patient can review and understand the dentist's remarks--and from that data, further research, plans, or other questions may be drawn. The dentist was knowledgeable and made sure I had all of the information, as well as pros and cons, when making a decision regarding the next steps in my dental care. I can honestly say this was my first positive experience at a dental office in my almost 50 years.

Fantastic experience: My daughter gets her braces done here and they are awesome and everybody's fun and loving and laughing. And my granddaughter gets her teeth done and they are really good with her they talk to her nicely and everybody seems to be in good moods and in good spirits. Totally different atmosphere in people since 27 years ago with my son

Negative experience: I paid $1200 out of pocket for a partial denture. After two years and multiple adjustments, I have not been able to wear it longer than the trip home from the dentist. I feel like I have been ripped off. The office manager refuses to refund any amount nor authorize a new partial be made. Very disappointed and angry. Do not get partials at Familia Dentistry.

Negative experience: Just went there to get two wisdom teeth extracted. They literally took my teeth and left. I was given no gauze for my mouth on the ride home and no aftercare instructions. The only good part is that they gave me enough of the numbing stuff that I didn’t feel a thing.

Positive experience: Everyone working here that my daughter and I had contact with was very nice. Yes, you can go back with your child which is a HUGE PLUS! The facility itself is the issue because it wasn't very clean, which is extremely unfortunate in this type of setting, especially with the amount of small children that are seen here. Dentistry should be as clean as other healthcare facilities, there was hair and dirt all around the dental chair. Also, once you put on gloves, nothing else should be touched other than the sterile equipment and the patient. The woman's bathroom was a nightmare, soiled pads, toilet paper EVERYWHERE, and no paper towels YIKES . Everyone was nice which is fantastic, but quality staff deserve quality facilities and patients no matter their income also deserve quality facilities. If I was able to, I'd find another dental office because the risk to my families health is terrifying, especially mine because I am immunosuppressed, but dental care is hard to come by when you're not rich. It's to bad they closed the Moline location. Thank you everyone! 5 stars for staff, only 1 for the facility unfortunately.

Fantastic experience: I had to get in for my appointment right away and they made it happen. I didn't have to wait at all they brought me back right away because my oxygen tank was low they could have made me me make another appointment but no they worked with me... I thank very much!

Negative experience: I went here for many years when I got braces and had them removed - all of that went great. However, when my retainer broke and I had to get a replacement, they told me it’d be $400 and that they sent me a letter saying I only had a certain amount of time to come by to get it situated, but I never received such letter. Highly disappointed in the retainer scenario, as my oral hygiene is important to me and I would’ve enjoyed coming by to see about a new retainer replacement with helpful and convenient pricing.

Negative experience: Today I had 2 teeth extracted. It was a horrific experience due to the fact that I was improperly anesthetized. I indicated to the Doctor that I could feel the preliminary test pricks that she did. She continued to proceed with the extractions. When she began using what looked like pliers to remove my tooth, I again said that it was painful. The Doctor responded, “I’m done! I’m done!” The nurse offered to hold my hand. I gave her my hand, and I expected that the Doctor would pause to address the excruciating pain that I was experiencing. The next thing I felt was my tooth being twisted. The pain was so severe that I screamed. The Doctor continued to pull the tooth out. I felt EVERYTHING - I cried out in agony as I could literally feel the tooth being ripped out of my mouth. Totally unacceptable.

Fantastic experience: My visit was quick, I didn't need to fill out any paperwork, me and my son were seen together in a row, he had a filling that day and it was his first time at the clinic, I had a cleaning. All in all this was done in under an hour. State insurance is accepted for kids and adults. This is a great place to go.

Fantastic experience: Extremely helpful staff and very accommodating to me since I’m in a power wheelchair! It’s extremely difficult to find a dentist that is willing to work with a patient who is not able to transfer from their wheelchair into their dental chair! Thanks TEMU!!!

Negative experience: My personal opinion is that while you'll may do good work, you have no people's skills. You don't explain what you're doing as you are working, at least in my mouth you haven't. I don't know how you are with your other patients but each time I've been to Familia Dental you'll have displayed rudeness, & no sense of compassion. I don't know if it's just your culture or what, but your overall care for patients is horrible. You'll could really take some classes on people's skills. Show some kindness & concern for your patients. I hope this comment gets to your superior, because my visits have been consistent in experiencing unexceptionable service. Do better.

Negative experience: Overall, I wasn’t very happy with my visit. I can say that every member of staff that I interacted with from the front to the hygienist, and the dentist himself, were all courteous and professional. My problem with the visit and why I won’t be back is the long wait and the poor care from the dentist. They took me back nearly 30 minutes after my appointment time and it was another 30 minutes before I was even by the dentist. When the doctor came in he immediately started to do a dental cleaning. I didn’t ask for a cleaning. I wasn’t there for a dental cleaning and they didn’t tell me that I was getting a cleaning. After the cleaning I spoke with the dentist and explained my chief complaints in regard to my missing crown. He did not do any examination, did not explain anything, did not ask any follow-up questions. He went very quickly through the cleaning that I wasn’t there for, briefly explained his recommended treatment plan, and was off to his next patient. This is why I believe my frustrations were mainly regarding the business model of this office. They’re a large office and they’re obviously focused on volume of patients, and less so on the quality of care to each patient. If you need a routine cleaning, they’re probably fine. If you need anything beyond that, I wouldn’t recommend this office.

Fantastic experience: Very pleased with my first visit here (as compared to another local place that should be shut down by the health department and investigated for fraud). The facility was clean, the staff was attentive and cordial, everything was explained clearly. There was a bit of a wait time but it was not at all excessive. I have to return for a tooth removal which I'm not thrilled about but I am confident that it will be taken care of in an appropriate manner. Update 1/25: have been back 2 times & the experience was just ascgood

Fantastic experience: Everyone was very kind and respectful, and they got me in less than 48hrs after I called, and I only was waiting in the waiting room maybe 5 minutes. The doctor made sure I was very comfortable before he pulled my tooth. A rating between 1 and 10 i would give a that's how good my experience was. Thank you to all the nurses and doctor.
