You will be at neurological risk! ⚠️ AVOID WESTERN DENTAL — NEGLIGENT IMPLANT PROCEDURE CAUSED POSSIBLE NERVE TRAUMA ⚠️ PUBLIC WARNING — DO NOT TRUST WESTERN DENTAL WITH YOUR HEALTH Severe Nerve Trauma from Negligent Implant in Upper Maxilla — Tooth L10 Lost I’m writing this not as a typical review, but as a serious health advisory for anyone considering Western Dental, especially their Fontana, CA location. If you value your long-term neurological health, avoid this place at all costs. Western Dental placed a dental implant in my upper left maxilla, near tooth L9 — and it resulted in severe nerve compression, chronic pain, and the eventual loss of my L10 tooth. The situation has caused ongoing neurological symptoms including: Deep aching and pressure in the implant site Numbness and burning sensations Tinnitus triggered by craniofacial nerve irritation Full-body stress response due to unresolved nerve injury What went wrong? NO CBCT scan was done prior to surgery — a basic, industry-standard imaging protocol that could have revealed danger zones like posterior superior alveolar nerve pathways and sinus proximity. The implant was placed by a prosthodontist by the name of David Hager, not a qualified oral maxillofacial surgeon — despite the complexity and neurological symptoms I reported. Zero informed consent about possible nerve compression, maxillary nerve trauma, or allergic/inflammatory reactions. I was never allergy tested, never offered specialist referrals, and flat-out ignored when I brought up advanced symptoms. My L10 tooth eventually died, likely due to the unresolved compression and inflammation caused by the L9 implant. The clinic environment made everything worse: Crowded, chaotic, and designed like a fast-food dental warehouse. Zero privacy. Zero time for thoughtful care. More concerned with maximizing patient volume than treating human beings with complex needs. Bottom line: Western Dental ignored standard medical protocols, dismissed serious nerve symptoms, and cost me my tooth and my peace of mind. If you’re experiencing anything beyond a basic cavity — especially nerve-related or systemic symptoms — do NOT let these people touch your body. Their actions are not just negligent — they’re medically dangerous. I lost a tooth and possibly part of my neural health because they refused to listen. Please don’t be next. > Update (Today): I filed a formal grievance outlining every concern, and it was denied—apparently “white coat” didn’t deem my claims valid. Next stop: my neurology appointment, where I’ll be sharing all this with my doctor. You can’t silence me with canned replies and form-letter denials. Let’s talk about the review board “judges” who dismissed me: they act like I’m some money-grabber who hasn’t even had the implant placed yet. They claimed I must be “too poor” to pay for the rest of my surgery and refused to reimburse me—despite the ongoing pain they caused. I’ve even been told by other dental practices that I should have run as fast as I could away from Western Dental when they tried to sell me a new tooth, because they would forever cause me pain, anguish, and a permanent speech impediment. I’ll keep updating this review until real accountability happens and Western Dental & Orthodontics finally owns up to the damage they’ve done.

Negative experience: The worst dentist office I've ever been, they make you wait 1 hour and 30 minutes in the lobby, xray lady angry ,the billing guy is just out to get you with extra charges and he lies just to get you to pay out of pocket, even the female dentist is a lier she told me my gums were bleeding when they weren't,,I was a new patient and the lier guy wrote a previous balance just to steal my money and he threatened to take away services if I had used medical, just for two extractions which should of been free of charge due to both of my insurances he wanted me to pay over 1500 and there's the proof ,I walked away and went to a better dentist, called my insurance and they are going to investigate the over charges.

Fantastic experience: These past few months I’ve had to go for dental work, the doctors have been so welcoming and very detailed as to what they will do. Even when they’ve been behind, they’ve done their best to attend me as quick as they could. Only one I would say I was not pleased with was a lady who took care of the billing/explained different treatments I can do after when it came to my wisdom teeth removal, her personality and the way she kept looking at me was very unsettling.

Negative experience: I’ve had a very frustrating experience with this office. I’ve received conflicting appointment times from different receptionists, and on more than one occasion, I arrived only to be told I had no appointment scheduled at all. During one visit, I waited over three hours for a cleaning that never happened. When I came in to have a filling replaced (which had fallen out), the dentist initially dismissed my concern, saying everything looked fine — until I pointed out the issue myself. Only then did he agree to take a closer look. I also noticed attempts to charge for procedures that should be fully covered by my insurance. I had the exact same procedure done last year with no out-of-pocket cost, yet this time I was told I had to pay. Overall, the lack of organization, communication, and transparency has been extremely disappointing.

Fantastic experience: Definitely not a fan of going to the dentist but I was in so much pain I had to bite the bullet and get to nearest dental office. Boy was I glad to find this place! I was treated right away and everyone was super helpful. I especially want to thank Wendy for her outstanding support throughout my process. My insurance was trying to push back on an important procedure I needed and she went above and beyond to make sure I received the care I needed. I highly recommend this place!

Fantastic experience: Made an emergency appointment because my back tooth broke I was able to get an appointment fairly quick the customer service was Awesone from the front desk to the young ladies that took the X-rays to the Doctor/Dentist. Fantastic experience: I went to this dental office today for my appointment and I went in there preparing to wait a long time but honestly they moved really quick!! I was able to get my exam and my cleaning done on the same day which I really liked because not a lot of offices do that. The guy in the front named Arthur was really nice!! He was very patient with me and understanding and he explained my treatment really well to me which I love. Overall all the staff is very nice and it’s a very clean and professional office! Fantastic experience: Good Afternoon, today I had my exam here at western dental in Fontana. I honestly thought the wait was going to be long but they move quick and they got to me fast. I saw Dr. Justin today she was so polite and she was really clear on all my treatment when she explained it to me. My Patient coordinator Arthur Was also very polite and he went over my treatment again very clearly. He explained everything with my insurance and I was so happy that he helped me understand my insurance and get my treatment started. Over all I this office has been the best dental office I will recommend it to anyone and my family.

Fantastic experience: So far I'm very pleased with Western Dental & Orthodontics. I'm a truck driver and I had a a big piece break off my front tooth. So I Googled emergency dentists and they answered the phone right away. The first visit was only xrays and evaluation which I was a little disappointed because I just thought they could fix it that day. But I had to only wait a week for the specialists to see me. Mostly because of my schedule. I got the my 1st root canal done today. It's been hard to get back home to see my regular dentist. And honestly I haven't seen him in like two years. I've had a bad fear of getting my teeth cleaned because my gums are sore and receding. Now I have major problems I need 5 root canals, a deep cleaning and I have middle stages of gum disease. They were so gentle today with the whole process. The Specialist David Haggard was explaining every single detail of what he was doing for his assistant because it was her first root canal. But I found it very comforting in also knowing exactly what he was doing. He prescribed me antibiotics today and ibuprofen but so far no pain. They're also going to help my gum disease with a mouth piece and solution to wear. They also said they can numb my gums for the deep cleaning which I didn't know you could have done. Thankfully I have good insurance to cover about half. Sorry for the long review but hopefully it will help someone else who has fears of cleaning and seeing a dentist.

Negative experience: Western Dental is one of the most corporatized businesses I’ve had the displeasure of visiting. After not seeing a dentist for a year during COVID, I went in expecting at most a cavity only to be told I had 5 cavities and early stages of gum disease, which could be treated for a lowly sum of $3000, after insurance. Obviously scared I got an appointment to address the cavity issue, where they made me wait an hour only operated on a single tooth and give me a second appointment. When I returned they drilled the exact same tooth as before, and gave me another appointment. Tired of wasting time I decided to pay for my old dentist outside of my insurance, where I was told that I had ZERO cavities, and NO signs of gum disease. When my trusted density about my experience at western dental he laughed and offered to work with my insurance. That’s a quality dentist, not whatever scam they run at WD. The only reason they have such high rating is because the staff harass you about leaving a raiding while you’re in the chair, leaving for an awkward conversation.

Negative experience: These people are a total joke . I asked for time off work , and I show up to my appointment and they say they don’t have anyone to take care of me. They rescheduled me another appointment, I ask for time off work again and when I show up they tell me the same thing ! do not waste your time here . Ive already called my insurance to switch dentists .

Positive experience: I came in 10 prior to my appointment and still had to wait an hr to be seen. I expressed that I had pain in my right lower tooth area and all they did was took X-rays in which they had to do twice because the first ones didn’t come out right. In between time I still waited about 20-30 minutes in pain only for them to tell me I had to wait a whole month until I’m able to be seen. I think you guys should a little better when it comes to appointments and letting people know BEFORE they arrive that they will be waiting longer than expected or past their appointed time.Over all the customer service was great it was clean and visually organized.

Negative experience: They reschedules me 2 times and then I show up late to the 3 appointment and they don’t want to take me in. But they can called and reshedule me as many times as they want? Doesn’t make any sense to me. They just waste your time.

Negative experience: Appointment at 10 AM didn’t get seen for x-rays till 10:45 AM then waited and waiting room till 11:30 AM then was set in an exam room waiting until about 1 PM. All I came in for was a cleaning. Spent my whole day there wasted my day, not very good

Negative experience: I went for a cleaning and it was a joke, one lady buffed my teeth for 2 minutes that the dentist came in scraped my 4 bottom teeth for about 1 minute and that was it! It was a waist of time, I am sure they will send the insurance a fat bill, these people are a ripoff!!

Negative experience: Belen did my teeth cleaning and she was really nice. Rude Doctor. He got angry that I didn't agree to getting extra work that would be out of pocket. He threw his gloves across the room and over me and examined my teeth aggressively. I won't forget this.

Negative experience: Worse experience, I came here last year everything went fine, but last Tuesday I came got my tooth extracted, first I was charged for a bone graft $599, just for them to sow my gum together. The lady came back in the room and she asked was I crying for joy about getting my tooth out and it was really about spending money i don't have. They were not empathetic to my pain, I told them it it hurt they said it's the "pressure" but that hurts so much, they didn't care. Then they only gave me antibiotics no pain medicine ! I was in so much pain on day 2 I called them telling them I was in pain they said they couldn't help me because the specialist wasn't there apparently she only comes once a month! So I'm just in pain I went to urgent care, my doctor and the hospital and no one has stopped this pain it has been a week today. These people only want your money they don't want to help you.

Fantastic experience: Fontana, CA office - Dr. Amir F. Is the best and I trusted him with my procedures with no hesitation. He very personable, social and most important professional. As a matter of fact he worked at the Chicago Western Dental office and left to Fontana. I had to find him because I trusted no other dentist with my teeth. Thank goodness I found him in Fontana. Though the procedures were very stressful and painful, he made me feel very comfortable and confident that I can get through it. Like they say NO PAIN NO GAIN…after this is all done I’ll have gained my beautiful smile again thanks to Dr. Amir F…he’s Simply the BEST!!!

Negative experience: I am in healthcare this place is completely unethical, they try to push people to buy into braces and treatments that aren’t necessary, don’t come trust me I file a complaint through my insurance. this place needs to be investigated, Went to Loma Linda instead and they weren’t surprised.

Negative experience: I follow up my kids dental appointment every six months I went here for a year and now my new dentist found out my daughter have a huge cavity that she might need a root canal you doctor fail me to get that cavity on time because the time I was there never told me my daughter need a filling now we got a bigger problem I taking my kids and family business to my new dentist they ate doing they job plus the receptionists there are so rude that's the reason I change dentist in first place but now never coming back !

Negative experience: Scheduled appointment for orthodontist at 12:30 pm and currently waiting to be seen still at 1:21 pm. Went up to the front desk to find out how much longer and was told that there are still 2 people ahead of me. I asked if this is a normal scheduling procedure and was told that it just depends on how many people show up for their appointment. I’m no expert but it sounds to me like they schedule a bulk of people at a specific time and “run through” who ever comes in rather than 1 person per time slot. Highly recommend this place for loss of time.

Fantastic experience: These guys are awesome. Gabby and Belen are very sweet. The assistants are awesome and know how to keep it light. Front desk keeps it simple and sweet along with the the other administrators who took the time to help me understand and go about my finances. I'm not a fan of dental work, with that said, this team made it into the most comfortable experience. 2nd time reviewing, still same great team. Happy memorial day western!

Negative experience: Absolutely do NOT go here if you have bruxism and/or need a nightguard. I came here a couple years ago because I developed quite severe bruxism (teeth grinding) in my sleep due to a back injury. My dental insurance of course wouldn't cover the nightguard, so I had to pay around $180 out of pocket for it. Every single time I visited, in spite of informing them in advance that I couldn't sit around for all that long due to my back, and verifying that there wouldn't be a wait time...I had to wait at least 30 minute, and as much as almost two hours, to be seen. Of course, medical offices are notorious for long wait times even for appointments, so that's whatever honestly. It wouldn't have been that big of a deal, except that I had to come in on three different occasions to have my nightguard impression (the mold the send off to the company) redone, because they repeatedly did such a poor job that the company rejected it. Given my concerns, when I finally did get the nightguard, I went out of my way to ask the dentist (I didn't get his name, but he was a taller, I believe bald male) if the nightguard came with a warranty in case it failed. He told me that he had one himself and they last forever, but that it did, in fact, come with a 3 year warranty for one replacement if it failed. As a side-note, they tried to upsell me on a bunch of expensive cleaning options on my first visit, which I told them I couldn't afford, as I could barely manage the nightguard, and then when they did the basic cleaning the nurse said, and I quote, "We could do a deeper cleaning, but it wouldn't matter anyway." and proceeded to just do the bare minimum, in spite of them wanting to sell me the more expensive cleaning options... The nightguard cracked on the first night of use, and completely failed to the point that I couldn't use it due to it damaging my gums within 3 months. Given my situation with my injury and many other life factors, I just couldn't make the time to come in about it until my recent visit, a little under two years from the day I received the nightguard. When I asked about the warranty for it, the staff said they didn't know anything about that, and that, how convenient, the dentist that told me about the warranty (they knew him based on physical description I guess), was no longer working with them. They said the manager wasn't in that day though, but they'd call me back after they asked them about it. Unsurprisingly, they never called me back. During that visit, they told me that I would need a full mouth reconstruction because, guess what, given their nightguard completely failed on me, my teeth are damaged and gouged and just in terrible condition from the years of grinding. I understand that I'm also partially at fault for the damage as I just couldn't find the time to come in earlier after it initially broke because I've just been dealing with too much lately, but if the thing hadn't broken immediately in the first place, likely due to their poor quality nightguard impressions, then it would have never been an issue. Of course I can't get the full mouth reconstruction because it's not covered by my insurance and I can't afford $100 let alone the thousands that would cost, and they won't even replace the nightguard to maybe prevent even worse damage. Beyond that, they also refused to do, in their words, any "temporary work" such as smoothing out my chipped teeth, filling in the gouges in my mostly destroyed enamel, or really anything at all that would be covered by my denti-cal insurance to help ease the pain I have when eating anything. My previous dentist that I moved away from would've had no issue at all just using some filling material to at least protect the exposed dentin temporarily and grind down sharp edges. And even beyond that, they completely missed the massive fissure(crack) in my top-left second-to-rear molar that's so large I can fit my thumbnail in the thing! They just didn't notice it was there at all! It blows my mind they have 4.7 stars. A picture of the shattered nightguard is attached.

Negative experience: This review should be 1/2 a star. My mom had appt 11:10am. It's 11:43am, I went up to counter and asked why she hasn't been called. Receptionist said, they are short staff. Western should of called patients to see if they still wanted to be seen or reschedule appointment. NOT COOL

Negative experience: This office is great on scheduling but once you are the office it will take you 5mins. To day tell you your Doctor is not there and once you get rescheduled the staff will make you wait 1hr to be informed that you won't be seen for another 2hrs. Tell are very good on making you wait forever and tell you sorry.

Negative experience: I could not honestly recommend this establishment. I had a root canal and cavity work done. The young ladies up front seem bothered by any questions asked. The dental assistants seem extremely unprepared. The Dentist did fast work, It seemed as if he was just trying to get it overwith as opposed to be efficient. I still have pain coming from the root canal work. The Dentist told me to floss better. It was overall just a bad experience.

Negative experience: Bad service. I went in today with an appointment and after an hour and 20 minutes, I went to go check how much longer it would be and the woman that took a photocopy of my ID and printed the insurance had not checked me in. I will not be returning.

Negative experience: My son‘s appointment was 10:15 AM. They said they were running 30 minutes late. At 11:30 I asked what was going on. They said my son was next when I asked again I was told there was one person in front of my son and it would be another hour and a half wait so we left without being seen. When we first arrived for our appointment, they should’ve told us it would be three hours at least then we could’ve rescheduled and left but no, we wasted all morning for nothing.

Negative experience: This place is so bad. I’ve been here for 2 hrs and nothing. I understand we are new but really. Answer was they had to confirm insurance. That does not take so long. I asked to speak to manager (I over heard her name is Jackie) and to their convenience she was at lunch!! !!!!!! I had to keep asking for update. They seemed not to care. Horrible, horrible. Appointment was 10:45 I arrived 10:30 Anita now 11:35 and barely getting X-rays. Will be 1:00-1:30 before we get seen. Smmmh!!!

Fantastic experience: I had an excellent experience today. The assistant Madayy was very eager to learn everything there is for dental and she was gentle with x-rays. Belle the RDA once again did awesome with my cleaning. Overall a positive appointment.

Negative experience: I had an appointment at 10:30am and was not seen by the dentist until 1pm. When completing my x-rays the dentist was very harsh when putting the x-ray tools in my mouth and seemed annoyed as if he just wanted to get the job done so he can move on. When finally seeing the actual dentist after the x-rays were complete, I was given an estimate for pricing to complete treatment for what my insurance did not cover and they only cared about collecting my money for that estimate rather than proceeding with the treatments that my insurance in fact covered. If they truly cared they would have suggested to complete any fillings that were covered by my insurance provider and when I was ready to complete the out of pocket treatment, we could have done so. They did not even bother to do regular dental cleaning. This western dental facility does not care about their clients, they just care about getting you in and out. They also just made it seem like they only cared about my money rather than proceeding with the cavity fillings that were covered by my insurance.

Fantastic experience: Came in for my permanent crown to be placed. Belen helped me and was as nice as ever. Instructed me on flossing and brushing and explained why it’s so important. I was out in less than an hour. Thank you Doctor and Belen. I’ll continue coming back.

Fantastic experience: Everyone is so friendly at this office , always make your appointment on the phone or in person to avoid the technical difficulties from the website. No complaints about the services , everyone is very informative and professional. Full of humble people, Belen was super cool and very social to make you feel comfortable with your hygiene and future visits.

The staff explained to me the whole process and procedures recommended by their dentist and helped me find a way financially to commit to the treatment program. Negative experience: This dental office is straight trash. It’s more like a school or sum type of trading facility. I had an appointment yet I still had to wait over a hour is half. The staff are a bunch of young unprofessionals. My dentist rushed me out not being very helpful and this was my second time seeing her and both times the energy she gave off was not friendly. I didn’t feel comfortable with her. There was no diversity when it came to employees of all ethnicities. I will not be going back again. I will not recommend this location to anyone. I had a very unpleasant experience.
