Fantastic experience: Dr's, assistants, staff, everyone was so nice and knowledgeable. Gorgeous office and rooms! All brand new and beautiful!

Fantastic experience: Dr Dixon and Dental Hygienist Ian are absolutely spectacular! I have had multiple visits with them, both routine preventative care and services such as crowns and fillings. I have never felt safer and more welcomed than I do at NKC. I have some trauma from previous dental visits when I was a child and being prone to cavities I have always felt judged and incredibly anxious and insecure when going to any dentist, let alone a new one. They were very understanding, friendly and welcoming to me when we first met. Both of them always answers all of my questions and helps me understand better what’s going on, how they can help me and how I can better take care of my oral health in the future. When it comes to the actual services, their work is impeccable. I have some permanent crowns and fillings from Dr Dixon and not only do my teeth and gums feel so much healthier but they look fantastic. He listens to input and feedback and is super informative. He is fun to talk to and I never feel awkward or anxious around him. I’ve used one other doctor at that office and I couldn’t be happier to have Dr Dixon as my provider. He doesn’t have to say much for me to be able to tell that he cares about what he does and is there to help you. Ian is by far the best dental hygienist I’ve ever had. Anytime I’ve gotten my teeth cleaned it’s felt subpar and like they didn’t make much of a difference. Ian makes my clean feel squeaky clean and brand new. He pays close attention to detail and will make sure to get EVERYTHING.

Positive experience: Had to change insurance, came in 10min early. Was not seen until 30min after appointment, after asking why she had not been seen. I was told “that’s why we send the texts and phone calls so this is done in advance”. I received a lot of calls and texts about the appt Not one asked me if I changed insurance. Which is fair how would the system know I was going to do that. A better answer from her would be. I’m sorry sir, When the insurance is changed it takes. Little long to put into the system. We will get your daughter inas quickly as possible

Fantastic experience: It feels weird to give 5 stars to a dental office, but Dr. Everson and her team go above and beyond to make sure I am comfortable and feeling safe before any and all procedures. I'm 18 hours post-surgery (implants!) and feeling really grateful (and sore lol) for how awesome they were and how patient they are with my intense fear of all things dental. If you are nervous, just make the call. Dr. Everson and her super kind professional team will take good care of you. I promise.

Fantastic experience: NKC Dental was an absolute Godsend for me. Since moving to KC from Florida, I had not secured a dentist. Following a botched dental emergency procedure at UMKC School of Dentistry, I found NKC Dental and Dr. Vince Riggo, DDS. He diagnosed the problem right away and fixed me up in a very professional way. The staff was extremely efficient and caring. I would give ten stars if I could.

Fantastic experience: I cannot say enough good things about this office. I was happy with them when I was the only patient and since bringing my toddler, I cannot express my gratitude for them enough. They are wonderful with him and he is so happy and comfortable there. He went with a dental hygienist all by himself today as an almost 2-year-old, which says a lot! They’re wonderful staff, and we have never had any issues. Definitely recommend!

Fantastic experience: I have a great fear of going to the dentist. I had to go 3 years ago for an emergency.. The team at NKC Dental is great. I had neglected my teeth for years. They put me so at ease that I decided to get things fixed as insurance would allow. They worked with me to figure out what could be done within my insurance limits each year. 3 years from my emergency everything is fixed (several broken teeth and cavities) and now I’m down to just maintenance. The best part is, I don’t fear the dentist and don’t have anxiety about going. Thank you Dr. Reggio and the team at NKC Dental.

The cancer was confirmed by KU MED and subsequently treated by a great oncologist Dr. Snyder. I’m a loyal patient of NKC Dental.

The Hygienist Joyce M. is one of the best, right off the bat she knows whether you’re doing your part to keep your smile healthy. 80% of your health is based on oral hygiene and these people at North Kansas City Dental Group are the greatest.

Fantastic experience: I went to a dentist a year and a half ago and had a horrible experience. Wisdom tooth pain ended up pushing me to make an appointment here. They got me in quickly, the office ladies and hygienists were all friendly and helpful. Dr. VanYperen was great! He got a full treatment plan prioritized and appointments for everything made. Obviously I was nervous from previous experiences with other dentists, but he didn't make me feel judged, he did a wisdom tooth extraction that was painless and went over pain management options (since I'm pregnant, I'm limited), and made sure I was comfortable the whole procedure. He got me in and out in less than an hour and made sure I was numb. They also did an xray afterwards to make sure they got all of the tooth. I am happy with their office, and will be making appointments for the rest of my family.

Dr. Riggio is fantastic- he has gone above and beyond what I could ever expect by helping me develop a treatment plan for some previous injuries I had sustained. I see him for both my general dentistry appointments and Invisalign appointments. The assistants and hygienists have all been great as well. 100% recommend this office!

Fantastic experience: Truly the best dental office in all of KC! When you first walk in, the front desk immediately gets you checked in, and the ladies are very kind while doing so. While waiting to be called back (which usually isn’t long), the office offers free Starbucks, hot chocolate, teas, cold brew, etc. When your name is called, I love getting to walk back and see all the cool decor! Signed Chiefs jerseys, KC Current signs, and really cool pictures of various local spots throughout KC to name a few. Everything is clean, up-to-date, and cutting edge! Whether it be an appointment for treatment or a cleaning, I have always had a wonderful experience with the entire staff. Everyone is so friendly, they truly listen to my concerns, and I have always felt very at-ease throughout my appointments. I am so grateful to have found this office, and highly recommend them to anyone and everyone!

Fantastic experience: Excellent place to have teeth cleaned. The dental hygienist I had was very thorough and the dentist I had explained things very well and was very detailed. They are also very honest with billing and I had no surprise charges either out of pocket or billed to my insurance company. This place deserves 5 stars and I will keep going back.

Fantastic experience: I came in on an emergency visit I booked the night before . My wisdom teeth was coming for my soul and when I arrived at NKCD they treated me with some much love . I am African American so I always feel like we get treated differently but when I say everyone and i mean EVERYONE was so nice and welcoming I recommend this place to everyone . I almost cried bc they were so nice and caring . They even called their partners to get me in to see a surgeon asap. Long story short my wisdom teeth are out and I’m feeling so much better. Thank you NKC dental❤️ also I live in Chicago and I will fly back just to have them as my primary dentist.

Fantastic experience: My husband and I had not been happy with our new dentist, after our former Doctor retired. My sister-in-law highly recommended Dr. Busch's office and so I made an appointment. My first visit went incredibly well. Dr. Dixon was extremely thorough when answering my questions (with incredible bedside manner) and the entire staff were very welcoming. I never felt rushed. The real "WOW" came after my cleaning because I'm so used to my teeth being scraped to death. They don't do that here; it's all state-of-the-art tools, so cleaning was a fraction of the time and was handled by Dr. Dixon. Not really sure what it was, but that alone was enough for me to brag about it when i got to work. Dr. Busch has managed to grow his dental practice and entire team to the highest level of standards that has made him a big hit with most all of his patients. I've never met him, but based on my in-laws' high praise and all the stellar reviews, he's doing everything right. I'm now a fan myself and I look forward to getting my regular check-ups for once!

Fantastic experience: They have good nitrous! Of course you have to pay for it upfront. It’s a little expensive but it’s worth it for me. Everyone I spoke with was really friendly. The dentist walked me through everything he was going to do. That helped me relax a little. All in all I would recommend them to people.

Fantastic experience: 5 Stars – Excellent Recovery and Above-and-Beyond Service I recently had an experience with DDS Riggio where, unfortunately, a mistake and some miscommunication initially caused a bit of frustration. However, what truly stood out was how the situation was handled afterward. Dr. Riggio and the team not only acknowledged the error but took full responsibility and made every effort to make things right. They fit me in quickly, ensured I was comfortable and informed every step of the way. It’s rare to see such genuine care and professionalism, especially when correcting a mistake. DDS Riggio turned a frustrating moment into a truly positive experience—and that says a lot about their character and commitment to their patients. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them. Mistakes happen, but it’s how they’re handled that counts—and this team went above and beyond.

Negative experience: I made an appointment online, showed up 10 minutes early, and the lady couldn’t find my appointment. She then said I had made my appointment at the other location (which is incorrect. On my email confirmation, it said the nkc location). She told me she could see me at 3. I waited a hour and came back. I sat in the lobby for 40 minutes. Everyone else got called except me. I think they forgot I was there. Would not recommend.

Negative experience: Billing and scheduling at this office have been incredibly frustrating—eerily similar to another review I read, and unfortunately, I can now confirm that experience is the norm, not the exception. The dentists themselves? No complaints. My hygienist has been great. And yes, everyone is very friendly—so much so that it often feels performative, like they’re trained to smile and deflect rather than actually resolve problems. My frustration boils down to two main issues: billing and scheduling. Even as I sit here writing this, another Black woman who checked in at the same time as I did has been left waiting for nearly 45 minutes. After asking if she’d been forgotten, the front desk told her someone was on the way—and yet she’s still waiting. It’s hard not to notice patterns like that. Billing is a mess. I’ve had to get my insurance involved multiple times to correct errors—sometimes with a rep on speakerphone, walking the staff through what should have been billed versus what actually was. When my insurance asked why they weren’t submitting pre-authorizations, the office said they just bill what they think it’ll be “according to my insurance.” That number has never matched what my insurance actually says. I’ve received multiple refunds due to these discrepancies. There’s no urgency, no clarity, and no accountability. Scheduling has been just as bad. My last appointment was canceled by them at 8am thr morning of, due to my hygienist being unavailable. I was understanding. But today, I arrived within their 15-minute grace window—only to be told I’d need to be rescheduled again, this time nearly two months out. I asked to speak with the office manager and was told she was in discussion with the hygienist. I waited 30 minutes before following up—only to be told she wasn’t available to speak in the office. I genuinely believe they were just hoping I’d give up and leave. It’s not just about occasional mistakes—it’s about how this office consistently fails to take responsibility for them. They seem more focused on maintaining a pleasant front than delivering competent, respectful patient care. At this point, im pretty sure we’re done. My entire family will be switching to a provider outside of NKC—one that respects our time, our money, and our presence.
