Fantastic experience: I've only had an intake appointment but they were really busy and still got me and my mom in and out super fast. Everyone was really friendly, the doctor was honest about the state of my dental health and didn't try and push excess procedures or wring me dry of every last penny like previous dentists have. I got some good recommendations and they answered all my questions. It was a really good experience! Update: I've now had all my work done that I needed, 5 fillings all done really well! Even my one tooth that's a bit weird with an extra cusp, Christian was careful to only touch what needed to be filled and I'm super happy with the result! They took my sensory issues and all my concerns into consideration and were understanding, made sure I was ok at every step of the process, and everyone was super friendly and positive the whole time, from the first moment at reception all the way to the end. I've had nightmare dentist experiences at other places but this one has restored my faith in dentists. I'd highly recommend this practice, especially for autistic people that typically struggle at the dentist.

Fantastic experience: I have 2 kids one of which has cerebral palsy. She has been coming to the dental center since her first dentist appointment. She will be 35 this year. We have seen many great dentist come and go. We have only had a handful of dental hygienist because I’m not one to switch things up. I can’t remember the first one we had before we got April for god knows how many years up until she moved and couple years ago. Then she passed snookie to Cecilia and Sam. And we couldn’t be happier. They are wonderful! The most amazing part for us is they continued to let Snookie stay on as a patient into her adulthood and I am forever grateful for that. We love The Dental Center

Fantastic experience: Our granddaughter Hazel usually doesn't have the best experience at the dentist office. She has a sensitive gag reflex and sometimes the staff gets a little irritated, but this time she had Miss Andrea, (I hope i have her name correct) because she deserves to be recognized. She was extremely patient and understanding. She was kind and made Hazel feel as comfortable as possible. They were able to fill 2 cavities and apply sealant. That is a huge accomplishment for Hazel and it was due to Miss Andrea. Thank you so much for putting her feelings first.

Fantastic experience: This place helped and gave my son that is on the spectrum the best experience! I was honestly afraid to go in because he doesn’t even let me inside to look at his mouth but the dentist asiatanct and the dr they worked with my son patiently and they made it the best experience I’ve ever had at a dentist office! I wound highly recommend this place to any moms that have children on the spectrum! It was amazing I literally put gym shoes because I was ready for a fight and to wrestle my son to look inside his mouth but I didn’t have to do any of that! I definitely recommend!!!

Fantastic experience: Park your fear of the dentist at the door,(outside AND down the street), very smooth and exact, they performed a cleaning and a second procedure in the same visit. I was done in an hour. Shout out to Melissa for tolerating a grumpy old man , nice, painless, smooth... Enjoy

We had Lashawn yesterday and she was very good with my boys, too. I think the Dental Center is a great option for Medicaid recipients.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Stefanski and his team have done an amazing job so far getting my teeth back in order after having issues with another dentist at another clinic who disregarded my concerns and now they have to fix it. My rootcanal today went smooth and the numbing medicine wore off nicely and so far I am doing well. All questions were answered and follow up is all scheduled based on my availability.

Positive experience: Love the dentist my special needs son works with and staff is usually nice but I can never get ahold of anyone anytime I call. If I leave a message, I do not receive a call back. If I do get through, I sit on hold for an hour or longer.

Fantastic experience: I recently became acquainted with South Bend Dental. These folks are wonderfully talented, personable and professional, at every level. Eric Stefanski DDS and Christian, his dental assistant, restored 2 teeth that I I've been troubled by for a long time. Thankfully their approach was to creatively remedy my problem without "jerking out the questionable teeth", which I had been told, on 3 occasions, by other local dentists. Using the highest medical standards, they think outside of the box, which is refreshing! Rather than the typical dental retort "pull it"! As a bonus, their fee structure is reasonable, compared to other dental offices. Although, in addition, I have a dental coverage plan through Cigna, which really helps! I can't recommend them enough!

Fantastic experience: Our experience with the Dental Center has always been fantastic. My son has been coming to the office for years. He has Down Syndrome and he has always been treated with kindness and respect. That’s not always the case in my experience over the years. Never been an issue here. Their staff is always very helpful, friendly, patient and knowledgable. The new facility is amazing. The office is always very clean and the waiting area is spacious and really nice. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the Dental Center to anyone.

Fantastic experience: My last visit and previous was excellent, I have high anxiety and I was treated extremely gentle and was explained everything they were doing along the way and asking me continuously if I’m ok. I believe the young lady’s name was Gabby that was from Goshen she stepped in for the day and she was amazing. And the Dr was great as well!

Fantastic experience: This was our first visit to The Dental Center, and we had a great experience. My child was a little nervous, but his dental hygienist, Jen, was great with him. She took the time to put him at ease, and she answered all the questions I had. The dentist he saw, Dr. Reid was great too. All in all it was a great experience and we will be back in six months.

Fantastic experience: My child has medical trauma as well as trauma from previous dental experiences elsewhere. The Dental Center has been SO patient and goes at my child’s pace and what they are comfortable with. Today, at our fourth visit, they were finally able to do a cleaning and exam. We are so happy with the care we get here!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Jawanda was super kind, cordial and thoughtful. I am not a nervous patient but I imagine he would put the most nervous at ease. The reason for the five stars though is Merrie, my hygienist! I actually look forward to seeing her twice a year! She explains her treatments perfectly and I enjoy her singing!

Negative experience: They never answer the phone or return calls on the kids side literally have to go in just to make an appointment I get being busy but they don’t even answer and say can we place you on hold just sends you right to the voicemail

Negative experience: I had such a negative experience. I called when my permanent retainer broke, they explained they can attach a new one, and the soonest appointment was a month out. They weren’t prepared to apply the new wire at that appointment, so it was a two and half hour long cleaning. Fine. Schedule a second appointment another month out, and they aren’t prepared for the wire and I have to make a third appointment. I say no to any service and to the third appointment, because it’s already been two months waiting on what should have been a quick fix. I’m told to wait to check out, and after ten minutes of waiting after not getting any treatment, service, etc., I have to go up and ask if I need anything else before I leave. I’m told that I owe the full amount for the first appointment. They didn’t bill the correct insurance (they billed medical, instead of dental), when I gave them the dental information at the first visit. The office worker asked if the reason I was cancelling the third appointment was because I couldn’t afford it, which was incredibly rude and offensive, and entirely missing the point of how my time had been wasted. I found a dentist who can get me in their office in two days, and it will cost a fraction of the cost. Such a waste of time, and so much frustration with absolutely no resolution. I had heard bad feedback from here, but my personal experience was pointless and disappointing.

Fantastic experience: Hands down the BEST dentist I have EVER been too and simply because of DR. REED!! She is the most awesome human being I've meet. She knew my kids hadn't been to the dentist in a while (their x-rays made it apparent) and she did everything she could to make me feel not only embarrassed or ashamed of that but made us feel so very comfortable, to the point we were and are comfortable enough coming back again. This woman gave me a hug and I could feel it in herself that she was being so genuine, and that was amazing, last year (which was our very first time going there) the assistant that helped my son, was so nasty and rude and 100% judgmental left me feeling so bad and ashamed among other things. But DR. REED is 100% a genuine soul, she is amazing and I recommend this place solely on HER!!! Hands down, she is the best

Fantastic experience: I am from PA and was in town to visit my son….I accidentally broke my front teeth in a couple pieces. They got me in first thing in the morning, fixed it perfectly, and I was out in an hour! Highly recommend… the entire staff was so friendly and nice! Christian the tech did a wonderful job on matching my teeth!

Fantastic experience: We had a great experience with working with the Dental Center. My daughter had to have general anesthesia for her procedure, which was done at St. Joseph Hospital in Mishawaka and they did a wonderful job. They kept her calm and were very thorough on what needed done before proceeding, which helped us understand and able to relax. The hospital was very nice and clean and had very friendly staff. I highly recommend if you have a very nervous little one to use them. They also accept Medicaid which was great since most dental places do not.

Negative experience: This is the worst children pediatric dentist . For one they scheduled my daughter appointment. Call my phone to verify The appointment the day before, The date of her appointment we made it there, and the lady lied and said that she called me and left a voicemail stating that I need to update my insurance. I showed her that nobody called my phone or left a voicemail. She proceeds to tell me that they cannot see my daughter due to her father having (private ) insurance on her through his job. Then number two they had somebody name is Social Security number sitting right on the desk, like anybody could have saw it or wrote it down that’s a violation of HIPAA!!! I WOULD NEVER GO THERE AGAIN!!!

Negative experience: I've been going there since I was a child. I am now 44yrs old and all 4 of my children have went there! Overall a great place! UPDATE: The customer service is awful. My daughter has been waiting over a year for 1 filling. When Dr. Pipenger and Dr. A was here the office in general was ran better. I've on hold for a long time many of times. Today I was calling office to let them know I was running behind got put on hold for approx 7min I get to the office and the 2 girls at front desk were chit chatting no one in line. I asked them how long do you keep people on hold. Oh well I didn't do it. Team work makes the dream work. Customer service in general is horrible these days but I'm over it. Thank God my child is almost an adult. I'm done over this service.

Negative experience: My son has been going back and forth with them with the same issue and still haven’t been fixed. The can’t find record that he was just there on Monday to schedule another appointment for this Thursday just for them to cancel his appointment saying they don’t know why he was even scheduled because they have no record of him being there but clearly saw he was just there on Monday! I’m sick if this office and will be finding a new dentist office

Positive experience: Had a pleasant first time experience at The Dental Center of South Bend, everyone I encountered was very nice. The dental hygienist that cleaned my teeth was very sweet and thorough. I would have given 5 stars except that I had to wait about 30 min past my appt time before I was called back, other than that I would recommend.

Negative experience: This has been the most nightmare experience I've ever had trying to schedule an appointment anywhere. I checked to make sure they took my insurance, filled out their new patient forms, and set up my appointment. 3 days before my appointment they send me a text saying they don't take my insurance so they canceled my appointment. So I called my insurance and asked them to send me a list of places that do take it. The FIRST NAME ON THE LIST is them. So I try to call them to seewhat the hell happened. They don't answer, so I figure I'll leave a voicemail and they can get back to me. Except their automated phone menus keep taking me in circles and won't let me leave a message. So I'm like okay maybe they don't have a voicemail. Not 20 seconds later, they send me an automated text saying they're sorry they missed my call, but I should leave a voicemail and they'll get back to me. At this point I feel like they're laughing at me. So then I wait until the next morning to call. I sit on hold for a bit, then get a person asking if I can hold for a moment. I proceed to be put on hold for over 20mins. I gave up and hung up. I genuinely don't know how this place has such glowing reviews. This has been a nightmare, and I'm still stuck with this horrible toothache. THIS PLACE IS AWFUL.

Negative experience: Very very disappointed that nothing was done! I have had this appointment for a while an I let them know what had happened. I have been in pain this whole time and nothing was done when I was told it would be taken care of. I had to go elsewhere and lost more time from work to have this taken care off. Needless to say I won’t be back to the Dental Center!

Both the doctor and nurse calmed my nerves when they seen my crocodile tears and even made jokes to help me calm down! My hand was held and soothed throughout the entire procedure!
