Positive experience: Hey… you could do better at cleaning the teeth of your patients. The most recent cleaning was too quick and my teeth didn’t look cleaned. You’ll have to impress me to make me change my rating and comment. ✌️

Fantastic experience: I personally picked this dental office when I turned 18 and had the responsibility of dealing with my own dentist appointments and I am truly grateful I came to this office. As a college student in NY but a resident of NJ they work with my schedule every time and are truly kind people. Like any other place you will wait a lil to to be seen, but the wait time is the shortest I’ve even experienced. I personally love coming to this dentist and would recommend it to anyone else. And I love having a dentist of color❤️ Representation in the field and giving them my time and money rather than anywhere else.THANK YOU ACADEMY DENTAL…Now the year is 2023 and they ain’t all that great to me once I experienced better service. But I assume they do what they can with the resources they have in a underfunded neighborhood…. It 2025 now they are overworked

Negative experience: This is the worst place ever and I advise that no one comes here at all ( the place smells). There are so unprofessional and the have no skill. The person who put my braces on is saying that I have to wait for the doctor to remove it. I just got my braces on Tuesday and they came out that same day with a very long wire piecing the walls of my mouth. I was told to come back so that they could get the wire cut low and after that it was still piecing the walls of my mouth creating large holes. Then I stated to them that I do not want the braces anymore and that was a big war because they were telling me i have to wait two weeks for the doctor to remove it because they have only one doctor for braces. However, this dentist assistant told me to use wax in my mouth while waiting for the doctor (how non-professional). That means that I should be in pain, bleeding all through with holes in my mouth while waiting two weeks for the doctor. I can talk or swallow, I bleed constantly and other dentists are saying they cannot remove it because it was not done properly and not by them. The lady who fixed it was telling me that it was an irritation to be bleeding like that with face swollen. This is a very Terrible place,. I got the opinion of another dentist who informed me after checking that the bleeding was not normal and it was not done properly. If you love yourself, you better do a proper research and never go to this place for anything, they are the worst and not professional. I think most of them are students.

Initially, I was anxious about the procedure, worried about the needles and potential pain. However, Dr. Parker's reassuring words put me at ease, and she truly delivered on her promise of exceptional care. Throughout the procedure, I only felt a slight pressure, but no pain whatsoever. I was amazed when Dr. Parker instructed me to bite on the gauze, and before I knew it, the tooth was out! The entire experience was surprisingly smooth and efficient, thanks to Dr. Parker's expertise.

Positive experience: At first I would have given them a 5. I'm having a problem with scheduling. It was easy breezy at first. I called in one day to book an appointment, one day before my appointment a receptionist called to cancel without baring in mind that I might have taken the day off to be at my appointment. She's now trying to book me 4-5 months along the line. I didn't get her name but she sounds like she's spanish. I had no problem when I was paying out of my pocket to do a procedure that my insurance didn't cover. I got an appointment every two weeks. Also the male hygienic is very rough and hardly speak English.

Negative experience: The doctor was useless. She broke the filling from my previous root canal. She is no longer working there and no one wants to fix the problem claiming that I need an oral surgeon. PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY GOING HERE!!

Negative experience: Over a year now, I have not been able to eat without pain due to treatment received here. Other dentists have recommended I return to allow them to fix their mistake. However, despite calling the office manager has yet to call me back so I can only consider it as a refusal to call me back. Mistakes happen but if no assistance is given afterwards, it's speaks a lot to the level of care. I wouldn't risk such an important part of my day to day life. See another dentist and save the misery.

When I informed them that I was moving to Kansas and wanted to get a release form, the rude receptionist said " no one told you to move to another country." I politely told her Kansas is not a country but a state. That witch was nice after that. 0 stars dont recommend

Negative experience: If I could rate this place an F I most certainly would. They don’t even bother billing your insurance. I went in went for minor pain from a cavity, I told the dentist to just pull the tooth because my teeth are very week and whenever I get a root canal i end up losing the tooth because it makes the tooth more brittle. Dr proceeds with the root canal didn’t numb my mouth, kept jamming those spike things in the tooth canal and put a cap on it. Went home in more pain then I came with on top of no instructions no meds. Paid my unnecessary expense bill only to fast forward and they are still trying to bill me an additional $262 to finish the tooth that broke anyway and I now have a hole. I will NEVER return to this place EVER. This place is horrible and $ hungry.

Negative experience: If I could give a zero i really would, the dentist is okay but if you need an orthodontist, PLEASE DO NOT COME HERE. From the moment i decided to do Invisalign it became an issue for me. I was originally recommended to do braces but i decided that that is not what i wanted to do. So when i asked about the Invisalign option the orthodontist immediately became carefree. He said that he only handles insurance for braces so if I want Invisalign then I basically have to figure out the insurance part on my own. Me, not knowing how to do that I just decided to pay out of pocket. I paid somewhere around $4,000. Throughout this whole process we’ve had about two “altercations” because I don’t like the way acts, he’s very nonchalant and rude. Granted I have not been perfect (I have missed appointments and I also lost a tray one time lol) but that does not give you a right to talk to people however you want to. When I came back after missing my appointments i tried to explain to him that I just had a baby and I had a lot going on and his response was “your personal life had nothing to do with me.” Fast forward, I was supposed to come in two weeks ago but they rescheduled me for today so my appointment was at 11:15 am. By 11:20 am the office calls me to let me know that he had already left because he had another office to go to. Mind you im already on my way, I was late because I had to drop off my baby before I came in. I said “ don’t I have a 15 minute grace period” she tells me that the orthodontist doesn’t do grace periods which is funny to me because there’s been a few times that I been 5 minutes late and it was no problem. So now I’m upset because why would he leave after I had to wait two extra weeks just to do this appointment. I told the lady “if I was on time to my appointment then he wouldn’t be able to leave until my appointment was finished anyway” so why am I now having to reschedule YET AGAIN because he’s impatient. She ended up telling me to come in because “he’s gonna come back.” So I get there, he looks at my mouth and says “everything looks good” come back in two weeks?!??? SO YOU TELLING ME THAT I DID ALL THAT FOR A 1 MINUTE APPOINTMENT?? Absolutely not I asked the front desk and they tell me the appointment was to see how well my last tray is fitting so next appointment they can take off the buttons on my teeth and give me my retainer. That was a straight up lie, the truth is he was in a rush to leave so he didn’t want to do my appointment today. It would make more sense if he said that he felt like i needed to keep them in longer so come back in two weeks‍♀️But he said everything looked good so why wouldn’t he take the buttons off today and finish the process today instead of wasting my time? One of the worst experiences I’ve ever had and i honestly should have been asked to switch to a new place because you don’t want someone with that kind of bad energy working in your mouth. I don’t know his name but he’s short, with glasses and grey hair 0/10. I don’t care if he sees this, they need a better orthodontist because I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one that runs into issues with him.

Negative experience: If I could give this place zero stars I would. So I called on July 4th because I had a seizure and and some teeth broke. I haven’t been able to eat since then. These people here are so lazy. They want you to do everything. And even after explaining that I’m not working at the moment and making me wait just to tell me they can’t do anything even after telling me they will put me as an emergency. They don’t care about their patients they just care about your money.Trust me when I say there are better dentists in the area. Don’t come here. You will regret it.

Positive experience: The office space is clean and nice. Ladies at the front desk was also nice and helpful. However I didn’t like that when I was getting X-rays the dude kept leaving me and I was just laying there with the X-ray thing in my mouth (which was very uncomfortable) service was very fast and the dentist was a little rough but I will give them another shot.

Negative experience: Since November of last year I have been constantly called, after I told them I no longer want service and have different insurance. These people have made appointments for me that I did not schedule. In addition to wanting me to pay an additional 4k for service. I’m ready to file a formal complaint for harassment. The offshore office they blame everything on is incompetent. Do not ever call me again!!!

Negative experience: Every time I went there, I felt cheated. After the x-ray, the Dr came started the cleaning at 5:14, and it was completed at 5:16 this time, it was Dr Kim. They always in the hurry I was told They're rental Dr's ,i know for a fact the services are better at the other locations. It was a waste of time.

Positive experience: I went to academy dental after being horrified of dentist for the last seven years. I went there last Thursday to get fillings it was a very comfortable situation. No problems during and no problems afterwards. The dentist talks to you in depth before procedure and after. I’ll give them four stars because I had a problem with the front desk…. All in all it was a great experience.

Negative experience: This place is extremely unorganized, they scheduled me a cleaning on two occasions , one for January and one for February. On BOTH occasions I arrive to my appointment, there is no doctor available to see me and I waste my time showing up here. Not once, this happened TWO TIMES. No phone call or heads up or anything. Two months passed, still no cleaning, Just a waste of time, they don’t apologize or even care at all. The people who work here have no clue what they are doing. Please don’t go here.

She left the room after my cleaning before I could ask any questions. I will say the place is clean however not friendly at all.

Negative experience: Worst dental practice I've been too. Waited over an hour to be seen, then was told the orthodontist wasn't covered by insurance after I called and explained what I needed as we recently moved to the area. The worst part. The "cleaning they provided my son took all of 5 mins. Never before have I or my children received a dental cleaning that didn't last at least 30 mins. Save your time and money. Go somewhere else

It was so clean and the doctors were so respectful and walked me through my procedure. The tech there is also up to date. Very clean and professional.

Fantastic experience: I have been coming here for about 2 years and the front desk is usually friendly. Askia has usually been the person who does my X-rays and though I have a difficult time at times with remaining relaxed when the camera is being inserted he always remains patient and guides me through the process. I would recommend as the office is very clean and welcoming as well.

Negative experience: UNPROFESSIONAL! Staff talk loudly asking where things are! One of them was walking with flip flops. I waited for 2 hours and 30 minutes. They put me in a room at the back and it had no cleaning supplies. So then I was asked to move to another room after they took time to clean it. Then I was forgotten about again. Then the doctor comes to clean for 1 minute, I wish I was kidding!! She cut my gums and it was very uncomfortable. I was treated like I was a doll to practice with. She took the tissue and stuffed on my face to clean her bad job. That was Dr. Park. She kept on repeating she had no time for me to do filling and then she left. Very unpleasant. They billed my insurance for nothing. Save yourself the time and money. Also there was an opened/used polishing paste on the floor! Gross

Positive experience: I love the cleanliness of the office, the receptionists were very polite and friendly and the doctor was very professional and informative when it comes to letting you know what is needed to get the job done and answering any questions you may have. The only thing I can say I wasn’t happy about was their efficiency and I am very big on time. I had an appointment for 5pm and even at 6pm I was in the chair waiting. Besides that I enjoyed my experience at Academy Dental.

Fantastic experience: Great experience at this office. Starting with Kayllah at the front desk, she’ll get you checked in a timely and friendly manner. I arrived early thinking it would be a traditional Dr visit and I’d be waiting forever. There was hardly any wait time. I think my X-ray tech was Carlos. He was gentle and worked quickly to get my imaging ready for the doctor. My dentist, Dr. Alyssa Kim, explained my procedure in clear and simple terms. She was professional and efficient. Then I think Carlos did my tooth polish after my cleaning, and again he was so nice and easy to work with. They did suggest I get another procedure done, which I was expecting and I forgot to ask the lady’s name but she explained how much it would be and how I could break down the service since I’m self pay. No pressure to get it booked right away, they just give you options and then let you decide. The office is nice and clean and you can tell everyone works well together that’s why their process is so smooth. 5+ stars

Positive experience: I can only give three Stars because I've only had one dentist as a child and teenager. As an adult, this is the first other dentist I've been to. So from my experience, the staff is friendly and the dentist is nice. But I would suggest that you communicate fully with the dentist through your procedure. Don't just lay there and let them do whatever. And they will respond accordingly. So I guess that makes them a great place. But until I go to another dentist I can't say this is the best.but its good. The only negative thing I can say is maybe I think they are overwhelmed sometimes because they try to take in too many patients at once. I think there is only two dentist and I've been there when they have all chairs filled. But they still get the job done. If u don't have allot of patience. I would say go to a private dentist if your paying out of pocket. Until I go to another dentist to compare. This is great for me. I recommend them. Cheers

Negative experience: Absolutely terrible service, would not recommend coming to this place at all, they charge u all these hidden fees without your knowledge. I came in for a teeth cleaning, waited for nearly an hour jus to be seen (I was one of the first ppl to get there for my appointment) to then be told I’m gonna need a deep cleaning and it’ll be an extra 300+ dollars for a deep cleaning. Had I been told this before hand I wouldn’t have booked an appointment, they then told me I could not get my 100 dollars back that initially paid for the cleaning that I did not receive! Total scam and I do not recommend at all
