Fantastic experience: I had a broken tooth with the root exposed and was in so much pain. They got me in immediately and Dr. Shrikian and the dental assistant were a DREAM. Couldn't have asked for a better experience and I felt so cared for. I'm planning on transferring all of my dental care to this office going forward. Thank you MCDC Kentwood! I'm so so grateful!

Fantastic experience: Amazing staff! I hadn't been to a dentist in 15 years and was anxious about my visit. I had no reason to be anxious though, from the secretary to the hygienist to the dentist, everyone was amazingly accommodating and kind. Definitely recommend to anyone seeking this service!

Negative experience: I change my review after I knew them better. They asked me to write a review after my first visit as they were hiding their true personalities behind smiley faces. I had a root canal asking them to fill. Dr Zona refused and told me to crown because it’s RECOMMENDED not required. The crown was OK for a while but as I chewed food on the crowned tooth, the gum around it became irritated and started to hurt. As a result, I called them asking for an emergency visit and explained that I need to get out of doctor’s office before 11:30am because I had to go to school. They asked me to pay an amount between $82 to $85 at the end of that visit even that I had insurance and they didn’t bill this year for some reason. I agreed. I entered there waiting for about an hour to be called. When an assistant took the Xray without apron to protect me from potential hazardous rays, she left and never came back to let me know about the wait time. I waited another 30 minutes. Since I was running out of time, I left the dentist office. Later that day, they called me asking for that $82 to $85. We had a long argument. I never went back. As of today, I have received a bill of $174.50 from two different dates. It looks like there is someone in the billing office that bills patients as they wish or possibly based on the patient's background or something else. Here is my first review: "Very friendly and welcoming. Although it was our first visit, I liked the way they interact with people." and I don't deny that they are friendly most of the time at the front desk. I would suggest NOT to write any review before you them.

Negative experience: Edit: ive stayed here all these years because my dentist here was amazing but I can no longer tolerate this office. I called for an appt ive been going here over 5 years and they told me it would be a year to get one for a suspected cavity. I cannot wait a year and they confirmed my upcoming cleaning apt and told me to bring up my issues then. 2 days before my apt ,which mind you I scduleded a year ago they text me they need to reschedule. Apparently there friday hours have changed. We'll then they tell me there's no available appointments. Seriously ive put up with alot from this office solely to stay with my dentist I have terrible anxiety and dental anxiety and he's just wonderful but I need proper dental care this is ridiculous and inexcusable. I should've been notified and rescheduled when their hours changed not this. I'm highly disappointed and this is not the first time they've done something unprofessional this is just the final straw for me. They do not care about patients they care about numbers and that makes me sad The staff is amazing. I love this office they are very nice and considerate of your needs and make you feel very comfortable. Dr. Zona is amazing and wonderful at what he does. I have terriable anxiety and have had lots of bad dental experiences. He's very gentle and patient and I always have a great experience

Fantastic experience: Ever since I started coming between my dentist and the hygienists…everyone is so friendly. This is the first time I’m happy with the services being rendered. This is a great place where the staff care about your smile as well as your wellbeing.

Fantastic experience: As it’s approaching the end of the year, there are so many appointments that people are finally making, but Imani the representative I was speaking with got me on the schedule and remember to give me a call if there was a sooner appointment available and she did! I was so thrilled to get in to get started on my last crown, and the process went so smoothly Even the temporary crown feels just like my teeth before it would always feel a bit chalky, but I can tell that they have been improving their processes on things and making it a lot easier and faster. I thought I would be there for 2 to 3 hours, but I was only there for an hour and a half that’s including Shaping And molding. The temporary crown very impressed. As that usually takes a very long time.

Fantastic experience: I have really bad anxiety and going to the dentist was extremely hard for me but they went far above and beyond to help make sure I was comfortable and would highly recommended this office as the staff is great

Negative experience: Yes,the staff and DR. Is pleasant .But they ignore a cavity I have for many years and I end up having crowns instead of performing a light repair a years back.I was under imersion that I am in a good hands but that feeling cost me badly.

Positive experience: Staff is very friendly. Only complaint is they did not tell me I needed to have someone with me for the procedure. So we wasted time trying to get ahold of someone and wait for them to get there.

Fantastic experience: The staff was the kindest staff I’ve ever encountered at a dentist office! They were so gentle which was great! They also did a great job at talking me through everything that was happening so I felt super informed as to what they were doing. If you struggle with anxiety or nervousness, especially when it involves the dentist, this is definitely the place to go! I would recommend this place to everyone!!

Negative experience: I have to express my anger here since I don’t believe in going off on people or misplacing blame. I am so irritated that I drove all the way from East Lansing just to encounter construction over 5 miles long and an accident as well. I let the office know in advance, yet the only accommodation they were able to offer was a reschedule. It’s hard enough to find a dentist office who takes Medicaid and one that aligns with my schedule as a full time student. I wish they were able to at least get me in to speak with the dentist knowing the circumstances. I was less than 20 minutes late. Last time I visited I was willing to wait 45 minutes for a procedure. The same standard was not upheld on their end, but as a student I understand they are just working professionals. Still sucks as an individual though. #IHateTheRealWorld

Fantastic experience: I had a terrible tooth ache and they got me in that day. I’m not even a patient. Their emergency service is excellent even tho I waited a couple hours it was way better than other places where I’ve waited for 6 hours and the not seen. The staff is very professional and very nice, the place was easy to find and was very clean. I am going to continue to go back for sure and have my little ones go there instead of the place that had me paying hundreds out of pocket for a toddlers cleaning. I definitely Recommend this place.

Dr. Even answered my questions in regards to my dental plan coverage for the procedures I need. Very reassuring and easy to understand. Fantastic experience: Veda is 8 now, and she did very good because the lady that cleaned her teeth was awesome . She talked with Veda about cartoons and a lot of other shows. Thanks for being nice.

After struggling for a while to find a dentist who takes my kind of insurance, these people are worth waiting and getting into if you also have specific insurance! My hygienist is such a sweetie always, and the dentists are top notch as well. Thank you for making me feel more at ease when it comes to my annual cleanings!

Fantastic experience: My first visit and I found myself thanking them for their service. I had an infection in a wisdom tooth that needed extraction. It took very little to register and to my surprise, as busy as they were they did the work. They have a great staff, efficient, and thoughtful serving us. Let them know if you are a veteran and they will cut you a break along with a kind thank you for your service. I will be going back for more work to be done and I feel comfortable with that. Howdy, I’m back with more news about the service provided after the first visit. I believe that they are done with me. They extracted the rest needed in my lower, made an up denture and a lower partial for me. I returned only to have a minor adjustment and now I can chew and enjoy all that I eat. I will return for cleaning. I highly recommend their services to all.

Fantastic experience: This place made me feel very comfortable. Answered all my questions with ease. The nurse and Dentist both explained what they will be doing before they did it. Showed me my XRAYS where cavities were, what teeth needed fillings. I also had a tooth pulled and Dentist numbed me up and made sure I felt nothing. I was in no pain. I am thankful to this Dentist and his assist for making me feel comfortable and in no pain.

Fantastic experience: So far so good I love the Attention that they give to each patient but I wish there wasn't so far out where your appointments I really extra. You know, far out and I just even though that is the problem with it, but, I just love that that they do the care that they take for people to get their teeth done. So I really appreciate. Negative experience: Every time I made appointment with these people for 5 yrs straight they always cancel on me w week before my appointments. So when I had appointment and I couldn’t make it cause one of my kids was in the hospital and we was there for 3 days they tell me I cant schedule another appointment on my day off of work cause I didn’t show up. But they can keep canceling on people and it’s ok but when u have a emergency it’s not ok.

Negative experience: I am so sad to report that things such as scheduling and the lack of sensitivity from staff and front desk for scheduling and convenience has not been good. They scheduled me for a 6month post cleaning at my last appointment and now calling me saying it’s not past the 6month mark and insurance won’t pay for it. Here is the kicker. They can’t schedule me till April of 2025. So does that mean I have to find a new dentist for my next 6month? Absolutely ridiculous. Every time there is something, all staff act as if it’s not their responsibility and say there is nothing they can do. Get new staff or new management. Service care providers on point tho. This used to be my review, with a 5 star rating: Jill and Vicky at the front desk were amazing. They went above and beyond to help me find a grant when needing a crown and then another one within the year. I love how gentle and caring Ciera(dental assistant) was during both of my crown from ensuring my comfort to lightening up the mood in in the room. Dr. Zona. Once again going above and beyond!!! Thank you all!!

Fantastic experience: This review is long overdue, they have been my families dentist for the last three from ages 35 to 4 years old and my 8-month-old will be joining the team soon, they are wonderful with all of us, there are kind patient understanding and no just how to make you feel like a real person, from the wonderful ladies up front to all the tec's nurses and doctors in the back, You are all wonderful and if I could give you 10 stars I would.

Fantastic experience: My Community Dental Center is incredibly compassionate and respectful. The issue for dentistry care for people on Medicaid is because most dentists refuse to credential to accept Medicaid, but My Community Dental Care doctors, techs, and staff are in it for all the right reasons. They truly care for their patients.

Fantastic experience: I have been going here for several years. I enjoy the dental hygienist I have had the past couple of years she is awesome! Dr Coa was great. I like the new dentist as well.

Fantastic experience: My 17-year-old son has been attending this dental office since he started, and I'm thrilled to say he's never had any cavities. I'm really pleased with both him and the dental care he's received.

Fantastic experience: Amazing. Incredible. Kind!! Can’t rant or rave enough about My Community Dental Kentwood. Kourtney the dental hygienist and Dr. Rutten. The absolute care, time, fun they put into their time with my son has just been heartwarming. I will always highly recommend.

Negative experience: Don't go here if you actually need help and not just want to spend money on things that you don't need. I shattered my tooth and went to go get the rest pulled out before it shattered more and got infected or lodged in my gums and all they wanted to do was charge me 90 dollars to get and X-Ray so that I can get on the list to get an appointment in the next 90 day's!! So what is the point of an emergency appointment if I can't get any help with the emergency? They just want to get paid for work I don't need at the moment why so maybe it gets worse then it all ready is and I have to spend even more money? DON'T GO HERE!!!

Fantastic experience: At my appointment yesterday at this clinic I had a lot of questions regarding how to move forward with my dental care. I’m on a fixed income & already knew I needed 2 crowns. My question was is it time for dentures? Dr Zona took the time to answer all my questions & together we made a plan of care. The hygienist was knowledgeable & explained my dental issues. Everyone at this office are kind, courteous, respectful, & helpful! I’ll return here for my dental needs & highly recommend the dental care here!

Fantastic experience: I came here for an emergency dental visit and was treated with such kindness during every single interaction- the initial call, to registering at the front desk, to the dental assistant, to the dentist. I am anxious at the dentist but they are all understanding. I would give 100 stars if I could. Don’t wait on your dental needs like I did. They will help you, zero judgment.

Positive experience: Dr. Cao and his team are excellent. A one service. Service with a smile while getting your smile worked on!!! Updating to a 3 from 5 when Dr Cao was there the service is just not the same. They have taken so many patients they're scheduling your cleaning out 9 months. Which is a disservice cause you're not getting your recommended two a year every six months. The dental assistant Dashia was great though I will give them that.

Fantastic experience: I give this facility a 5-star rating because i had was able to be seen and received top notch care for a tooth that was causing me server pain. I was also informed of an infection that needed addressing. The timeliness of the staff getting me in, treating my problem, and out was less then an hour. I whole heartily reconmend them to all.

Negative experience: While the staff were all great, I wasn't happy about being lured in with a veterans grant to get much needed dental work. ALL of my teeth were pulled, one week before getting my dentures I was told the grant money ran out and I was left with the choice of coming up with money I didn't have or going without teeth, with 2 major holidays coming up, I am on veterans disability and do not have what was needed to get my dentures, while I did have help from friends, I was able to get my dentures, but haven't been able to wear the bottom dentures and was told "they're bottom dentures, they will never fit right"...I'm STILL not able to enjoy certain foods that I have enjoyed in the past...I'm left without a smile and craving foods I can no longer eat. I can't help but feel "scammed" and disrespected...when offering a veterans grant for dental services...do better Kent county...tell the veteran the grant isn't just for them singularly...if there is a dentist out there reading this...I sure would appreciate a smile again!

Fantastic experience: Dr Zona and Jasmine were terrific. I had 3 procedures done and Dr Zona made sure to tell me the order in which they would be completed. Dr Zona is the best dentist I’ve ever been seen by.

Negative experience: Would give zero stars if permitted. Called with emergency tooth issue and was told they could possibly look at it today after perhaps a six hour wait. At that point they would determine what needs to be done and schedule when they could do it. I was told that would be a at least two months out. so waiting at least two months to fix an emergency is pretty ridiculous.

Positive experience: Overall this office is ok. The front desk reception is kind and helpful. The hygienist Jurrica was caring, gentle and easy to talk with. I've been looking forward to having her again, maybe I’ll have to request her. Dr. Zona is kind and does his best to make you feel comfortable. Overall I’d recommend. If you have neglected your dental health, you just have to get it over with so you can get on the road to recovery. A painful process but necessary

I had a cracked tooth and they were able to get me in that day with no problem and even called earlier to see if I could sooner which I was able to. Also they called afterwards the next day to see how I was feeling.. just awesome… and I hate needles and pain but they made me feel comfortable and the dentist was great..

Fantastic experience: I mostly liked my hygienist, Dayisha, before starting I asked her to be aggressive and do whatever it takes to get my teeth feeling clean and smooth again and she was. And she finished up with asking me if I felt any bad spots, which I don’t think has ever happened before...
