But Dr. Curtis and his staff are extremely comforting and caring, which helps relieve a lot of the initial stress. Two days after my procedure (almost a full mouth extraction) i already feel better and am surprised with how little soreness i have, thanks to their professional work. They also had no problem getting me back in just so I could ask some questions post surgery. I cannot recommend Dr. Curtis and his staff anymore highly. Fantastic experience: Had to have 21 teeth removed and they made it as painless as possible. 7days later no real noticable pain and the Stellalife program made it so my strongest pain reliever was extra strength Tylenol and over half of the extraction spots have completely healed already

Positive experience: The care and staff, including the surgeon, were excellent—knowledgeable, kind, and helpful. The prep videos were great too. Surgery went amazing and I healed in no time. However, the front desk seriously lacks communication. Voicemails go unanswered, and I wasn’t able to get in for my wisdom tooth removal until 2025, even though I started trying in 2024. They rescheduled my appointment without confirming—I never got a call or message. A co-worker had a similar issue. Once you're in, it's great, but getting in is frustrating.

Fantastic experience: A suspicious lesion in my mouth very well could have been a metastatic melanoma. I was seen just one day after making an appointment because there was a cancelation. The biopsy was performed just 2 days later. I have no idea how often this happens for other patients, but they adjusted their schedule to accommodate this time sensitive surgery for me. The office is lovely, the staff friendly and helpful, and Dr. Curtis exudes confidence and competence. Overall a perfect interaction.

Positive experience: The overall surgery experience was good. Two issues, 1) Like many doctors offices, the day of surgery they require you to be 15 minutes early, but we were not taken back until 50 minutes past our appointment time. 2) The pre-surgery medications were not put in until 2:45 the day prior to surgery, even though I called multiple times, and the pharmacy I use stops taking new same-day request at 3, so that created home hoops to jump through.

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience, all of the staff are very friendly and take time to answer any questions you may have. The procedure I had done was done professionally and routinely and there were no issues at all including post-surgery. The front desk is helpful with submitting documents to your insurance. Overall they made the whole process a breeze and I would recommend them to anyone.

Fantastic experience: A five star experience from start to finish and a very special thank you to Dr. Curtis. I came to Dr. Curtis after Tricare had sent me to a military hospital for Mandibular advancement surgery. They attempted the procedure TWICE. Both times the military doctors left me with failed hardware. The first time, the plate had separated from my jaw and screws were sticking out. The pain was so severe, I did not have time to argue with insurance on where to go for an emergency revision surgery. After the swelling subsided from the revision, you could tell where the plate was in my cheek because there was a visible lump. The military Dr. advised me to give it time for the bone underneath to recover and since it only hurt if you pressed on it, I gave it time. I gave it NINE months to heal, and then I was fed up. Any time the plate was bumped, it was like tapping a needle on a record. A very sharp pain that traveled all the way down to the midline of my jaw. I argued with Tricare for weeks until they finally agreed to FULLY reimburse me for seeing Dr. Curtis. He quickly discovered that the previous surgeon never put a bend in the plate, and so the back end was straight out away from my jaw and the rear three screws were not in contact with my bone. In the 3-D scans he took, you could clearly see the turns of the screws. Dr. Curtis fit me in his schedule two weeks after for surgery. It took less than an hour for him to remove the plate in an outpatient procedure and I required only a nap before being able to run errands same day and look after my children. I cannot stress enough, the stark contrast in quality of care. From Dr. Curtis’s finesse in manipulating the surgical site to the long lasting pain medication for continued patient comfort, I did not experience any feelings of being “man-handled” or “put through the wringer” as with the previous surgeries. I am going to remember Dr. Curtis and the experience I had at Upstate Oral Surgery & Dental Implants fondly, FOREVER. My once unfortunate mandibular advancement surgery experience now has a happy ending thanks to Dr. Curtis and his wonderful team.
