Positive experience: I went to this clinic for multiple reasons including their proximity to my house. I literally walked there. It's nice to have an emergency dentist in quaint Havre de Grace. I had a difficult removal of severely infected teeth including my last lower wisdom tooth. Dr Patel was so considerate and added more numbing meds 2 more times when I raised a hand. He wasn't surprised. They called it a "very angry tooth". That struck me funny. The others were a breeze. Was it cheap? Absolutely not... But it was worth it given the immediate service and kind, professional staff. I had to get a loan, but I'll be able to pay it off quickly. I look forward to some new changes including permanent arches that will negate the need for uncomfortable dentures. This is an offered service and I look forward to discussing what they think will be best for me. Again, I highly recommend this office! (They're also coming to the end of a remodel and it's beautiful

Negative experience: This review is based off of my call in experience only… but after reading other reviews and talking to a past patient, I’m so glad I had the experience I did that way I NEVER step foot in this office! Called to get an appointment , the staff who answered calls has ZeRO customer service skills and extremely rude! First impressions matter and if you are short and rude with me over the phone I’m dang sure not coming to give you my $$ and have you treat me that way in person! No thanks

He was reassuring, gave his recommendations, leaving decision to me. A detailed treatment plan with all associated costs was presented. Excellent!

Fantastic experience: 6/17/2025. I have been going to Rose and Dr. Shank. I can’t say enough about the both of them. They are caring, compassionate, knowledgeable . I chipped my front tooth. I was in a Panic I thought there wasn’t a dentist that is going to be able to fix it. Well when Dr Shank was done I couldn’t even tell where it was chipped . I am very fortunate to have the both of them. 2024 We changed dentist because ours retired. So Union Dental Center was closer to our house and I gave them a try. Best move I made. Everyone there can’t do enough for you. If you have an emergency, they try to get you in the same day. I can’t say enough about them. I would totally recommend them. Daria

I’m usually terrified of the dentist but Dr. Friedman's assistant made me feel calm and relaxed and they took very good care of me and it was a very quick appointment. Fantastic experience: I'm not a fan of going to the dentist. I delayed this process as long as I can, I went in Friday morning to have dental work done. The staff was inviting and professional and my Dentist was awesome. The technician let me know what was going to happen and the steps along the way while I was waiting and it made the time seem less than what it was. I have never had a bad experience with Union Dental. I would definitely recommend them.

Fantastic experience: Great visit, teeth cleaning. I only wish when they sell products i.e. fluoride treatments, teeth whitening processes and anything up and coming in the future, just put s display up in the waiting room saying ask us about...... If patients want it they will ask. It's awkward listening to the soft sales pitch then having to wait for end to say no. It reminds me of when I used to get my haircut at a beauty salon and someone would come around pushing products. Better yet, just run videos on you vifeo loop in the wsiting room.

I went in for a consult and they did my procedure the same day. They made me feel so comfortable and at ease the entire time despite my anxieties. Fantastic experience: This is a great dentist. I have been in pain for almost a week. My dentist looked and said I needed an oral surgeon (they are all booked through the end of Nov.). Trust me, I called around the tri-state area. I called Union Dental, and they had me in the office 3 hours later. The dentist looked and said this could be pulled in-house. Mattie (I hope I spelled it right) came in and prepped me for the dentist, I was numbed, and the tooth was out, 20 minutes after the numbing. Dr. Friedman was awesome. His staff is professional, friendly, and just a pleasure to be with in a time of severe pain. I left, one tooth down, and no pain. This will be my new dentist. Thank you for getting me on quick and treating me so well. Kudos to everyone in the office. Update, I had to make another appointment for a wisdom tooth that swelled up and was causing severe pain. They were able to get me in the next morning. Dr. Patel took me in and was able to pull the 2 teeth that was aching and had me out in about a half hour. This is just a great dentist office. Thank you to everyone from the great dental assistants to the dentist.

Fantastic experience: I cannot say enough in regards to the kindness and patience from everyone in this office. If you have past negative experiences as I have, don't let it keep you out of the dental chair. Give this practice a chance, you will be glad you did.

Fantastic experience: This dentist office is terrific. From the office staff, the dental techs and dentist they are prompt, polite and always considerate about my comfort throughout my cleaning. My dental tech scheduled my next appointment so when my cleaning was done, I was ready to go.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Patel and the assistant were an amazing team during my tooth extraction. I had been in pain for quite some time and struggled to find a dentist who could remove my broken molar. Even though my dental insurance is out of their network, I chose Union Dental because of my previous positive experiences with them, and it was absolutely worth it. If you’re dealing with dental pain, they will take care of it! I’ll definitely be returning for future dental work.

Fantastic experience: I had my 2nd visit. Again it was a very positive experience. I had a different dental assistant who was extremely nice and attentive. My dentist was very thorough and informative regarding my procedure. I’ve had the same procedure 2 or 3 times in the past at different dental offices and with my past experience they did not take the time to go through the additional steps as this dentist. I am not really one that post reviews but I am extremely happy with this dentist. Negative experience: By far the worst dentist in the area.where to begin 5 years ago i started here with a dental plan they literally keep you having to come back for stuff that isn't in the dental plan they advertised for affordable implants, but never made that a option for me Ive gotten 5 crowns done here and have spent thousands of dollars and every crown something went wrong with it. I currently have a crown that's not even a year old fall out after the dentist (Dr frediman) took his mirror tapped on my crown and the next day it fell out!! Now they wanna discharge me. Calling the bbb today ive already got attorneys working on this malpractice lawsuit this dentist will do whatever to get a dollar they have no compassion my hippa law was broken the last visit!!!! Also they cant even get their ppl in for cleanings and wounder why returning patients have messed up teeth you have been warned i went back because of Dr.Morgan she left so that's probley why the service is so bad. Their management does not know how to talk with patients.They don't do a insurance check or anything!!! BEWARE THIS IS A RIP OFF DENTIST!!!!!

At the first visit they offer a plan to get you where you want go which includes options and prices. I was impressed.

Fantastic experience: I was in need of an emergency appointment for my cracked tooth. I was in a lot of pain. They took me next day. They were so welcoming and friendly. I was nervous and didn’t know what to expect. But everyone was very supportive ,helpful and everything went really quick and smooth. They came up with the plan and we went ahead and moved forward. And the procedure was done right away, the dentist was amazing. And thankfully, the procedure went well With no complications. I was in and out of the office With everything done. And it took a little over an hour for everything. It was just a wonderful experience for me even though I was in excruciating pain. I honestly have never been to a dentist like that in my entire life. I recommend definitely a 10 out of 10!

Fantastic experience: I went in for my crown on Tuesday Oct 22nd. Dr Brett prepare my tooth for the crown. Danielle scanned the area to make sure the crown would fit perfect. Very cool 3D pictures of the area. The crown was made in house within 40 minutes. Three people Dr Brett, Danielle and the crown tech worked effectively and did an Awesome job. Thanks to a great team. Negative experience: A LOT HAS CHANGED, AND IT IS FOR THE WORST! I've been going to this UDC for over a decade, where the previous team/staff members were warm, and welcoming, while also knowledgeable, but I can attest for the past 2 or so years, from the Dental Assistants to the actual Dentists themselves, has declined. Let us not forget how dated this place and their equipment seems to be. To get a crown completed at this location has been proven to be approximately 20% more than surrounding reputable dental offices. The Dentist seem to be chasing a dollar moreso than concentrating on the dental needs of the their patients. I can keep writing, but I feel that my responsibility is just to make the community aware of the standard decline. Respectfully, Former UDC Supporter

Positive experience: I was greeted promptly and politely. It was a short wait until the tech came for me. She took me back to a cubical where she took X-rays. She was professional and experienced. She told me Dr. Fritz would be doing the cleaning, a surprise since he had never done that before. Where were the hygienists?

Negative experience: Update-8/2024-Went to a new dentist, and I don't need a root canal!!! New dentist listened to my concerns and fix my mouth right there, the pain is gone.It's always good to have a second opinion. I'm so disappointed with this office. If I could give 0 stars I would. I went in April because of sensitivity in my left side of the mouth, after doing scans Dr.Shanks said I needed a crown even though she didn't see nothing wrong in a xray but said that it would help with a gap between my teeth.She didn't allow any other options. I should have seen the red flags but I trusted. She did the crown and as soon as she did she said I needed a root canal,which was weird because she hadn't address the sensitivity of my left side and had done a crown. Several weeks past and I went a couple of times, to get the crown adjusted(which she kept saying to the do root canal)and ignoring my left side as a whole. A couple of week ago I told he I was clenching my teeth at night and my teeth wear hurting, she looked at me as if I was making up and continue to say I needed a root canal. I went today because the clenching on my left side is causing a lot of pain in my jaws and teeth. I requested another doctor and was given Dr.Brent. After I told the dental assistant about my pains he came for 2 min, hit my tooth that has the crown and told me I needed a root canal without sitting down and checking me properly. I feel a space between my gums and the crown but he didn't check. They did x-ray of my jaw and when I told him I did not wanted a root canal,I was dismissed from the office without being talked to about what was happening to my jaw. I asked for a manager and the receptionist laughed and I was sent to Dr.Brent. The one who only saw me for 2 minutes and he didn't know why I was mad. I told him that the doctors are always in a rush,I wasn't able to ask question and I was dismissed while having a dental problem just because I refused a root canal. It wasn't the first time the doctors seems more interest in money than helping. After I talked to him,he was still adamant about the root canal being a priority even after I told him my jaw pain was worse.Then he said he could do a custom guard, (all this headache for something he couldve done before dismissing me)but by this point,after being neglected and push aside I don't trust them with my mouth again.Please be careful when you go there, and ask for a second opinion if the tell you,you need a crown.

Fantastic experience: I got exceptional care from Danyella, Jeremiah, and Dr. Friedman over a two-day period. I have had several root canals and crowns over the years, but this was the most expedient by far. The new equipment at Union Dental and the training of the dental assistants facilitated a very precisely fit permanent crown in a matter of hours, not weeks. Dr. Friedman was very diligent to ensure that the crown sealed flawlessly so the affected tooth will be protected for the long term, and that the contacts and bite were ideal. I deeply appreciate the efforts of everyone involved to provide me the best care possible.
