Fantastic experience: I'm so thankful I chose to get my dental work done at this office! They were so caring and professional. From the front desk, the anesthetician, everyone asking the way was so understanding of my severe anxiety and got me taken care of smoothly. If I ever need anymore work done I'll go here and tell everyone!

Negative experience: Did a consult with this place for my 17-year-old daughter. She needed a wisdom tooth extracted, but she did not want to be sedated. As a patient, You should have a right to say if you want to be up or not. I was told by the front desk staff that the doctor does not give you that option and I can simply find somewhere else. So we did, we found somewhere else and they took out the tooth in 10 minutes without sedation. Who doesn’t give a patient an option to stay awake or not? Is it about money or control?

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience getting my wisdom teeth removed here with Dr. Chaliff. The whole process was smooth, and the team made sure I felt comfortable and informed every step of the way. They explained everything clearly, answered all my questions, and made what I thought would be a stressful procedure actually really easy. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: If anyone is ever looking for an oral surgeon,look no further than Atlanta Oral & Facial Surgery. I have been coming here for many years. They tease me about my folder. I’m told I have the biggest one there. lol I have had many teeth over the years that I had to have removed and implants put in. Each time they have done an excellent job. I can’t thank Dr. Schaner and his staff enough for the great care I receive. A big thank you to all at the Dallas Hwy location.

Negative experience: If I could give both of the offices 0 stars I would. The East Cobb and West Cobb offices don’t communicate at all and they are supposed to be connected. I was scheduled for surgery and they gave me the run around after I had given them everything they needed from my surgical clearance in a timely manner. They called me asking questions that they should have called my doctors office for and they didn’t communicate between each other about my chart information. They also refused to give me adequate information from my chart when requested. I got excuses after excuses and was treated as if I wasn’t knowledgable as a patient. I cancelled my surgery because not only were they last minute if they have terrible customer service then what can you expect when someone is going in your mouth. Not worth the hassle & pain. DO NOT GO HERE!!!

Fantastic experience: I had the greatest experience today The staff was very efficient and friendly greeted with a smile and smiles all around Staff knew their jobs and answered all questions and Concerns. Doctor was very nice. He took the time to listen and tell and answer your questions and I would recommend this to anyone who needed this service.

Fantastic experience: I have been struggling with dental problems and pain for a long time, partly because of serious osteoporosis. Dr. Shaner at Atlanta Oral & Facial Surgery in Marietta performed a dental surgery, which required more than just pulling a tooth. Only one day after the surgery I feel already so much better than in the months before, and I am absolutely happy with the result. Dr. Shaner did a great job, and he and his whole team were incredibly professional and kind. I have been at their office several times in the last few years, and every time my dental problems were taken care of 100%. I definitely recommend treatment at Atlanta Oral & Facial Surgery, Marietta office. Thank you.

Negative experience: I paid my full estimated cost on the day of procedure (Oct 2024). Months later, I received a surprise bill for an extra $272. The office never verified my real-time insurance benefits. Instead they relied only on a web portal that doesn’t show pending claims or remaining coverage. My insurer confirmed they were never contacted. When I brought this up, the office refused to acknowledge the oversight. I’ve since filed a formal PPO complaint and other regulatory reports. Insist on a phone or fax verification of benefits and written proof. Although I had poor customer service with the billing department the nursing staff was wonderful.

Fantastic experience: Office staff and assistants are very friendly. They were transparent on the phone about costs that I would need to pay without insurance which was appreciated. Have not had surgery yet but so far I have good feelings about the doc and the practice.

My procedure was quick, he made sure I was comfortable and provided me with his personal number in case I had any issues or concerns and couldn’t get through his team over the weekend. The wait wasn’t too long either. 10/10!

Negative experience: Communication and customer SERVICE make or break a practice, and this location lacks both. After waiting 4 months for an appointment to get a morning appointment for my minor son (morning strongly preferred due to fasting requirements), I get a call the week of the appointment that we were scheduled for the afternoon and there was nothing we could do about it because the other appointment times were already confirmed. Ok, fine. Strike 1. I received a TEXT message the DAY before the appointment informing me of a significant change in out of pocket due to insurance coverage change from the initial consult (guess that’s what happens when you wait for the preferred time… that didn’t happen anyway). … strike 2 (I’m sure this could have been confirmed with insurance and communicated well before the day before). I arrive early for the appointment as requested and was told that the anesthesiologist would do a consult before the procedure began. After waiting an hour and 15 minute, I inquired about the wait time. I was informed they were cleaning the room and would see me “soon” though they didn’t know how much longer. An hour later I asked to speak with someone about the lack of communication (since the front office staff was socializing amongst themselves I thought a simple apology or acknowledgement of the long wait would be easy enough). I was told no one was available to speak to me but I could reschedule. Strike 3. I cancelled the appointment, requested a refund, and will find another practice. Never a follow up call or apology. Very disappointing.

Positive experience: I had my wisdom teeth removed by Dr Schaner. He and his team did a great job and made me feel comfortable. I definitely recommend this place and would go there again. I was told that I would be sent home with an ice pack around my head which I did not get or i would have bought one. Also, when I went in for a consultation I didn’t meet the dr until right before the procedure. In the future I will definitely ask for these things but still a great place .

Negative experience: The office and staff were wonderful during my consult, and I appreciated their kindness. I was very intentional about expressing my deep fears of dental work and made it clear that I would need to be put to sleep for the procedure. However, the day before my appointment, I called to confirm the instructions and was shocked to learn I wouldn’t be sedated unless I paid an additional fee, which I hadn’t been prepared for. This unexpected change has left me incredibly disappointed, as I had built up the courage to move forward with something I’ve been putting off for a long time. Now, I have to start over and find a new office, which feels overwhelming. I truly wish things had been more organized and clear from the start, as this has been such a challenging experience for me.

Don't waste time going anywhere else, Dr. Schaner and his team are A+++ They have this down to a science, super easy, no complications, no confusion, super clean facility, professional staff! Surgery was amazing, the wounds were stitched to perfection, the follow up care and directions were so easy to follow! They send you home with this silk head wrap with freezer/warm packs, that was the best part. My daughter LOVED that for her recovery. I am thanking God for leading us to this practice after we had a rough start at another practice.

Positive experience: Good experience once they finally called me back, got there 30 minutes early and still waited almost an hour and a half after my appointment time. Some of the waiting area furniture is uncomfortable. Especially for "long waits". Everybody was complaining about it.

Fantastic experience: Needed a emergency extraction 12-10-24, was referred to Atlanta Oral by my General Dentist. I called them and was in their office less than 2 hours later and the Surgeon did an amazing job extracting tooth and went ahead and did a bone graft an a implant all in same visit. 5 Stars for Dr Schaner as well as his staff. As a perfect a visit as it could be.

Fantastic experience: Nice to go to an office where a person doesn’t come to the waiting room door, calling out “NEXT!” (…like you can feel sometimes). Dr. Schaner is very professional and approachable, and he gave all the details I needed to know about upcoming procedures. Fantastic experience: From the start of my visit everyone was so warm and welcoming. The practice is very beautiful and comfortable. The Doctor assistant was friendly and very helpful, made me feel comfortable. Upon meeting Dr. Chaliff he was so welcoming and friendly. He introduced himself, then asked me questions about my health. He showed real concern for my situation. He listened carefully to me and my questions. He took the time to calm my fears and explained everything to me carefully. I feel very confident that he will take very good care of me.

Positive experience: Quick scheduling and virtually no wait time for my first appointment. The consultation was quick and straightforward. I wish they discussed my out of pocket cost beforehand but the staff and doctor are professional and efficient.

Negative experience: Very overpriced . No real knowledge until you pay and do crazy X-rays . The amount they are charging just for a graph is almost same price as the implant. Ridiculous. This is not to even mention the $130 consultation fee before you even get to meet w the doctor. A joke.

I have always been a little apprehensive about dental procedures but not with Dr. Schaner and his staff.
