Fantastic experience: It's been about 13 years since my last cleaning. I was ashamed as an adult but I've had some terrifying experiences with dental work but came in January for what I thought was a broken tooth but it wasn't. They found some other issues, put me on a treatment plan and scheduled me for a cleaning. I've had a few root canals done here, one right before I left for vacation in July and it was a wonderful experience. The dentists there are caring and don't make you feel like a bad person. I had my cleaning done yesterday and I was anxious and feeling ashamed it took so long. The hygienist was great, didn't make me feel ashamed, explained everything and showed me how to do better at brushing and flossing. I now have found my dentistry office and am no longer afraid of dentists. Even the front office staff is kind and amazing. Thank you advanced dental!

Fantastic experience: I needed a second opinion regarding multiple cavities, and I came across Advanced Dental Solutions while searching for a dental office near my home in Castle Shannon. I was very happy when Dr. Rossell told me I needed fillings and not multiple root canals, which my previous dentist recommended. Dr. Rossell and Miranda did a great job with the fillings and made everything as comfortable as possible. I also wanted to add that staff were all incredibly polite while checking in and checking out at the office.

Positive experience: I was very nervous. The doctor and the dental assistant were both lovely and I appreciate that the doctor took a lot of time to explain everything to me in detail, and help me make a plan The atmosphere was a bit noisy and busy to me. I have an irrational fear of the dentist and you could hear all the noise and drills and sounds. It unsettled me a bit. All in all it was a good experience. This was my”second opinion” and if I decide to do this, I will go with Advanced Dental Solutions

Negative experience: On May 22nd, 2025, I found out I needed two root canals and two fillings. I had not been to any dentist in over 10 years due to debilitating dental phobia. After calling everyone within a 150 mile radius and asking if they provide dental sedation in addition to the two aforementioned services, I finally found Advanced Dental Solutions of Pittsburgh. They claimed to do all three things I required. Being my only option to get this excruciating pain relieved, I made an appointment. On Monday, June 2nd, I made the 3 and a half hour drive to the office, and was seen by Dr. Culver. He was incredibly kind, and made me hopeful I could be pain free for the first time since I had been told the grim news. They took all my health information, including my weight and height, medication history, blood pressure, and worries I had about the procedure, as well as about my crippling anxiety about all things involving dentistry. I then drove 3 and a half hours back to my home, with an appointment for August 12th to finally fix my teeth. Then the problems started. On Thursday, June 5th, I went to the original dentist who diagnosed these problems to send my updated X-rays to Advanced Dental Solutions in a format they could more easily access, as they were having trouble opening the original file. As I was filling out the information request from, I received a call from Advanced, and was told my appointment had to be moved back a week to accommodate the anesthesiologist's vacation. Ok, no big deal. I agreed to the new terms, and waited. Then, 7 days before my appointment, on August 12th, 2025, I called to ask Advanced Dental Solutions for some more information about the type and quality of treatment I would be receiving. They referred my questions to Ambulatory Anesthesia, the company that provides their anesthesia services. After calling them and giving them the same information Advanced Dental Solutions had had for SEVERAL MONTHS, I called Advance back to review the questions I still had from that call, as well as requesting the amount of pay they would need. All told, it would be over $4,000, *without* receiving crowns for my root canals. Which I accepted, as I was in agony constantly, and had no other options. At this time, I was also informed that I SHOULD have received an email/letter detailing the care I would be receiving, which I never did. Then, later that day, on Tuesday, August 12th, 7 days before the appointment I had waited over four months for, Advanced Dental Solutions of Pittsburgh called me at 1:12 pm and informed me that, despite the amount of time, money, time off from work, pain, and suffering I had had to endure to attempt to fix this. They were cancelling my appointment. There would be no anesthesia, due to it suddenly being 'too dangerous', despite them receiving no new information for the last 4 months, so there was no point in keeping said appointment. So now, I have nothing. No options, no relief, no plan, no nothing. So if you are like me, and are utterly hopeless, don't look for it here. You'll just be strung along and discarded at the first opportune moment. Thank you for less than nothing, Advanced Dental Solutions of Pittsburgh, as well as your co conspirator, Ambulatory Anesthesia. Desperation and constant pain made me foolish enough to have hope for a better tomorrow, but I have been thoroughly reminded no such thing exists. - Joshua Sass.

Negative experience: my dental hygienist there is the best in the business and it will take a lot for me to leave because of her! However, I’ve been going there for probably over 20 years with no acknowledgment of loyalty. There were 7 in my family going there now just three. They don’t have 6 month appointments and have nickel and dimed me on charges. Hopefully they change soon

Fantastic experience: I had not been to a dentist in years. Called around seeking help for an infected molar and ADS gave me an emergency appointment with no problem. Arrived at the office, and was taken back to an exam room on time. All the staff were wonderful—pleasant, concerned for my comfort, provided what I needed, and explained follow-up care. I need an extraction and am reassured that this will go well based on this first experience. The office is run efficiently and ADS appears to be a good fit for me. The staff at ADS exceeded my expectations; and in this day of dwindling, incompetent and at times rude help, it was refreshing and a relief to be pleasantly surprised and pleased with the good care I received today. Positive experience: Always a great experience, except for the wait. I showed up respectfully early (15 minutes)for my appointment and was taken 35 minutes after my appointment time with no explanation or apologies. I get texts and emails constantly reminding me to be on time and about their cancellation policy. This has been a normal for my past several visits. The dentist Dr Josh though professional, poked his fingers around my mouth said nothing except tell me to open and go ahead and schedule me for the next appointment and left. I felt as if I was holding him up from something and he was in a hurry to go home.

Super cool Assistant called me bro which is so much better than Sir, and the Doc handled ya man with care. Upfront, fair pricing was the feather in the hat. Overall, today's hands-on treatment experience was excellent in that the hygienist, doctor, and checkout staff were all attentive, patient, and competent. I will continue to receive services here. However, the wait time for my scheduled appt. was extremely long. Although explanations and apologies were provided it was not until 40 minutes into my one hour wait that I was personally acknowledged. As a patient and consumer, I understand that circumstances such as this do occur; however, the handling of such extreme delays, in my particular circumstances, has room for improvement. Online registration is an option to avoid waiting and filling out forms on your first visit and everyone was not only extremely pleasant and nice, but VERY professional and informative in the dentistry field. I called ADS and they got me in the next day. Not only did they make me feel like a real person/human being, they will now be my main dentist moving forward. Fantastic experience: I'm writing to cite the professionalism of Dan Rairigh, DDS. I'm sure Advanced Dental has other good dentists. I lucked out with Dr. Rairigh. His expertise, expedience and competence are second-to-none. One would be remiss not to request his services. Side note: These professionals didn't choose the name for their office haphazardly. Their methods, procedures and technology truly are cutting edge and state of the art. They have an on-site lab, so they don't farm out their lab work. Case in point; I was able to watch my own dental crown being sculpted by a machine. In the past, the turnaround time for a crown, from impression to insertion, was normally two weeks. At Advanced Dental, the turnaround time was 30 minutes. In other words, they sidestepped an unnecessary temporary crown. NEED a crown? One appointment will take care of it. I'm sold. Update: 14 September 2022 Don't be fooled by gimmicky, "extractions-and-implants-in-one-day" advertisements. To do it correctly takes time. After an extraction, the bone needs to heal. Not MY words, but the words of my referring dentist, who recommended Advanced Dental Solutions of Pittsburgh. Simply won't go anyplace else. Update: 4 April 2025 Crown felt "wobbly" at 10:00 a.m. Called Advanced Dental at 10:15 a.m. Squeezed me in six hours later. Fixed the problem - AND AT A REASONABLE COST. I have to travel 40 miles to get to them. For their level of service, I'd travel 400 miles.

In my past experiences, other practices felt aggressive and offered minimal time with the doctor to address concerns. However, in just one visit here, I received more time and attention from the doctor than I had over years at previous practices. They prioritize patient care over profit, and I’m so glad to have found them—this will be my new dental care provider moving forward.

Fantastic experience: I had my first appointment with Dr. Goodrum and he was great and told me all the main things I needed done right away as I’ve avoided the dentist for about 10 years and have done some damage to my mouth. I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Culver for January 28th for 3 molar extractions and I was beyond terrified. They prescribed me antibiotics to take prior along with two sedation like pills to take the morning of. When I arrived everyone was pleasant and knew I was still completely terrified. I was a giant baby and freaked out the entire time and Dr. Culver and his assistant gave me time and were very communicative with me to make sure I wasn’t in actual pain. I had my post-op appointment this morning and everything is good! Going back in March to continue to fix the other issues. Overall so far I am happy with my experience.
