Negative experience: I took my wife here for a routine check-up and cleaning and was told she had 8 cavities that needed treatment. They provided an estimate and a letter for her primary doctor to approve the procedure before any work could be done. We scheduled an appointment to return in three days to address the cavities, but suddenly, the number of cavities dropped to 6 according to the doctor's paperwork, and the dental assistant now there were only 4. Now, my wife feels unsafe getting any work done at this location. They refuse to refund the $990 they charged to my Care Credit account, even though my wife didn't authorize the charges and her doctor didn't approve the dental procedure. No work was even done and still do not want to return money. Avoid this place--they are FRAUDS taking advantage of insurance and customer money.

Negative experience: I’m not one to complain or leave negative reviews but this was the worst experience I’ve ever had . Waited 5 hours in a lot of tooth pain just for them to tell me they couldn’t see me after all because I needed a more specific medical clearance . Which I already got before and had to reschedule several times because of their terrible scheduling issues with corporate . If this was the case they should have told me before I spent half my day there . The doctor just saw my name and said oh can’t see you and left with no other regard for my feelings and had the front desk hand me a paper I needed that was “more specific” would have appreciated some compassion at the very least.

They don't have time. She doesn't know why call center make the app. Like that..PLUS..bad treatment..my son was in a pain..and the DOC".WISH the front lady said that he likes to go exactri.@ 12 @ lonch..no matter what..and Now I know BCS he didn't look good at my son problem..he send back. With nothing not a explanation..just make an apounment..later..and I took him.to a doctor. And yes he had a infeccion.BAD i guess the unprofessionalDoc. Was in a rush for lonch.F patients. Sound like that..they sucks..and I'm going to call to corporative..

Negative experience: I would leave a zero if I could My mother and I have had appointments for weeks and two days before the appointments I got email confirmation on both then this afternoon one day before I get a call from them saying they had to cancel both because they didn't have staff to see us She contradicted herself on the call so I know she was lying I'll never use them or recommend them to anyone

Negative experience: I have lived in multiple states and this is by far the worst dental office I have ever been to. The bathroom was filthy and floors dirty. If they can’t clean a bathroom do you want these people in your mouth??? The dentist was quite rude about my medical history. Grilling me about non issue medical history stuff specifically the medical history form. I will never set foot in this place again. Remember folks always be in charge of your own healthcare and never a place like this.

Positive experience: I had my first dental experience with Western Dental on Feb. 7th. As new patient to this office I was NOT greeted with kindness by the receptionist at the front desk. The questions I asked about the visit had snarky responses. I was very close to canceling my visit and leaving. Instead I stayed for my visit. I would have placed this establishment as 0 stars but the experience turned around. The young woman who took my dental x-rays (my apologies for forgetting your name), Dr. Rod and Dental Hygienist Patricia (I think that’s her name) we kind, patient and provided an overall experience that made me feel welcomed. I felt heard and my questions answered. I’m not sure how the front desk receptionist trained but they are the first impression of an establishment. I continued to observe the front desk staff as they did not greet anyone coming inside the office. Im thankful the dental staff working with patients are hospitable and welcoming. Thank you!

Negative experience: They really need to re-evaluate their scheduling department/front desk. I have been re-scheduled multiple times. Yesterday morning, the day before my appointment (2/28/25) I’m called to re-schedule once again because they “over-booked.” I let them know I can’t, I asked for the day off work (as I did other days) and let her know I’ve been re-scheduled multiple times. She said okay, we’ll fit you in you can come at 9am (it was scheduled for 10am). I come in on 2/28 at 9am sharp and she lets me know all appointments for general cleaning are cancelled. She says “I called everyone yesterday” yes you did, but you did not cancel me. She then goes on and says “I can’t even re-schedule you because the system is down, can you leave your information here.” And gives me a sticky note. I write it down and she just leaves the desk, says nothing, HORRIBLE customer service. I understand the system can go down, mind you I work at a clinic as well but this is a matter of scheduling and from what I’m seeing, it has been an ongoing issue. Wishing I would have seen reviews before booking.

Fantastic experience: This was my first time at Western Dental and it was a very good experience for me, I went in for some cavity fillings and cleaning, very much needed, and i can say it wasn't painful, the shots aren't so bad, you will only feel the liquid but it goes away in seconds. Overall they made me feel comfortable and had a good experience. Great doctor!

Negative experience: Terrible service. Scheduled a cleaning appointment. They set me on a schedule within a week. Came in for my appointment at 2pm for the free orthodontics assessment and scheduled 3pm for my cleaning. I got in for thr orthodontics assessment about 2:45pm. I declined the orthodontics as I don't need it but they were somehow pushing to also consider the clear aligners because the insurance will cover most of it. Went back out to wait for my cleaning and I waited until 4pm to get me in. Once I got back in, they did the x-ray and had me wait in one of the stations/rooms that were only covered with a curtain. I saw few others have been there and while I was waiting, other people already gave up and left due to a very long wait time. I decided to wait and it wasn't until almost 5pm when the dentist finally arrived to check. The dentist only check the x-ray results and didn't do the cleaning which my main reason for getting there. If you consider this dental clinic, just be sure that you are willing to wait for a very long time and have a very good insurance to cover your concerns.

Negative experience: I hate that I feel like the only way to make the dentist at this establishment listen to me is this. I came in with admittedly stained teeth. X-rays were done first by the hygienist. Next the dentist walks into the exam room then immediately says you have gum disease. You need deep cleaning and will need to come back. Didn't even really look in my mouth but noticed the staining. I smoke, I drink coffee and wine. I'm a brushing advocate. I have theories on the staining, but I was actually able to take care of most of the staining myself while I waited for approval for this deep cleaning. Now the Second visit. A month later. For this “needed” deep cleaning… After novacaine shots up and down my gum line from front to back, only one side thankfully, but inside, outside both top and bottom. I was being tortured. I asked to leave before they started, but … it's approved you need it was the only response. So after the shots he spends less than 10 minutes doing almost a once around. Then More x-rays to see what he missed. He missed a couple spots he says. Not even two more minutes he's done. Then he walks away onto the next patient. I was stunned. I wanted to discuss my xrays. Next steps. I was quickly shut down and sent on my way to schedule my next torture treatment. I actually tried to speak with this dentist over the phone right after my first visit about my x-ray and the lack of decay mentioned but was told I would have to schedule an appointment to go over them. This was right after the first appointment. So I called back set up an appointment and let them know I wanted my x rays too. And that I would like to discuss in detail my x-rays. After an extremely short visit, a quick glance at the xrays and very little discussion of any issues he just kept saying deep cleaning…deep cleaning…deep cleaning and it's approved so you need it. How much more exactly will you charge while you drag out one cleaning into 3 visits? Even the day of the deep cleaning I tried to have him show me on the x rays what he was deep cleaning. Of course that didn't happen. Are we ready he says . And then the 10-20 shots to the gums. I lost count. Literally almost ripped the hand rests off the chair. He starts the water pick. The cleaning was easy. Obviously now I have so much novocaine in my mouth I could have taken a fist to the face. He was done so quickly. I thought he was kidding. He did have to knock off one final piece of stubbornness but he should have been able to see that without another x-ray. Again…how much are we charging for all these x-rays? One more set of x-rays. And the visit was over. Less than 20 minutes total. Teeth look just like they did when I got there. The proof is both sides still look the same. I cancelled my next visit. I just might chance it with oil pulling and never see a dentist again!!! Look it up, it's a thing and you should be doing it too. I've been doing it twice a day for a month. It takes 20 minutes but after you brush and floss it feels like you went to the dentist and had your teeth cleaned. Not this dentist! My old dentist. Dr lancor. I miss her. But she's in Ohio. So after a month of oil pulling. No wonder he didn't have to do much. Let me mention again. He did one side only. And they look pretty much the same on both sides. But now just way less stained by using the oil pulling and I'm sure the oil pulling will do the rest too. I wouldn't believe it either but oil pulling will change your life . I'm sure the dentist will say I'm wrong when he sees this review. But anyone who gives another person 20 shots of novocaine in the mouth is not about being anything but a torturer. This is The Dentist, 1996 movie, kind of traumatic Photo attached ugh had to be done

Negative experience: Does this go to the dental office before getting published? I do have issues, but I’d rather address my issues with them first. Then, if not corrected, going public makes sense. My concern is I only go there once or twice a year. I don’t want to bash them with negative comments when it is possible that they were having a bad day or their employees were acting poorly for some unrelated reason. Criticism is good if it leads to change. It just needs to be delivered in the right way.

Negative experience: Zero or less starts. I made my appointments for my family and told them to put my mother with me and explain the reasons when I did the appointments. My mother has a hard time leaving house because her immune system is weak. So, it is difficult to take her out. But the worst thing was the way the receptionist told me that they were not going to be able to see us because they had patients who had scheduled appointments from 6 weeks ago. So, she say me that maybe they can see us in the morning or maybe in the afternoon. However it was not certain. The tone of voice was innappropriate, and it made me very upset. And she say that it is the corporate's fault. So, why do they say schedule or that they accept walk-ins or new patients to make us have a very bad time and a huge waste of time?! Horrible customer service.

Fantastic experience: I had a double extraction. The surgeon and his assistant made me feel so comfortable and talked me through entire procedure. He was fast, and professional as well as making sure I was pain free. I had a complete exam and xray for future work up. The office staff is very friendly, attentive to your needs and very patient as well as professional. My experience with Western Dental El Centro area was very positve in all aspects. Positive experience: It was fine until I heard the loud music. I thought to myself am I at the club or a dental office. I polity asked if the music could be turned down and I was accommodated. I think the dentist also agreed the music was a little over the top. I usually am a fan of loud music but I needed to hear my daughter while she was getting treated not the sound of loud music. Other then that... The dentist who attended my daughter was professional and provided great explanation of after care and when she needed to come back to their office.

Negative experience: Non-existent customer service. Tried to set up an appointment as a new patient and was kept on hold for an eternity. Ended up going work Palm Desert dental instead since they actually wanted my business and answered the phone.
Negative experience: Same experience as with other people! Scheduled an appointment and was on time and signed in. They told me it was going to be an hour and a half wait! I told them I would take my business somewhere else as I am a cash paying customer. They don't know how to properly schedule appointments. I wouldn't waste your time with this place and go somewhere else.

Last week my daughter was waiting for a long time to be seen by a doctor and they applied anesthesia twice in a lapse of 2 hours they had so many patients that I have to reschedule and take her out with her mouth numb they didn’t do anything to her Not sure what’s going on ….. but same thing happened with my son in a different day Like I said they do a good job but they over schedule people

Negative experience: Bad service always the same thing each time I take my daughters there, they take forever when they have appt they get seen like two hours after they always say the same thing “they are short on staff” then why do they schedule appts for Saturdays I don’t get it. Then they make you make another appt to get the rest done like cleaning.The bad thing is that there isn’t that much dentist here in the valley.Its ridiculous !

Negative experience: Update: When I went back to get my gum x treatment, I needed to do a deep cleaning. Instead they told me they "didn't have time" to do the deep cleaning so instead they've only cleaned half of my teeth. By the way, the gum x treatment only works best when you've already done a full cleaning. Tbh, that was the very last time I will ever go to ANY western dental. I have already paid off the gum x treatment which was $1,200. And I'm still receiving letters that I still owe money. The most unprofessional, greedy dental company that exists. I will stand by my word. Your nurses are the only thing that makes this place positive. Thank you for taking my money when I didn't even receive the full treatment/cleaning. Lmfao. I would give this place 0 stars if I could. I guess 1 star is good enough because the nurses there were nice and talkative to me. But the doctor there is absolutely rude. TLDR: Nurses are nice and polite. Doctor is rude and unprofessional. Wait times are absolutely absurd. DO NOT agree to the GUM X treatment. They just are greedy and just want money from you. Please just look for another dentist to go to. My first appt there was a horrible experience. Went in at 9 am and waited about an hour and 30 minutes to get called in. Once I got called in they had me wait 20 minutes for x-rays. Once x-rays were finished, got transferred into another area and they had me wait for another 40 minutes for the doctor. The main reason I needed to go there was for a cracked tooth. I've mentioned it multiple times to the doctor there and he kind of just shrugged it off like it wasn't a big deal. He didn't even check my tooth nor did he look at it. He said he was just going to do a filling there where my cracked tooth was. So, got my cleaning done and fillings done. The next day a part of my tooth fell out (where my cracked tooth was). Absolutely disappointed because the main reason why I went was for my cracked tooth! The doctor made it seem like the filling was going to fix it but if anything it made it worse. Now I'm stuck with an exposed tooth. The doctor also recommended me to get the Gum X treatment. I've decided to agree and made a $400 down payment also with monthly payments of $70. They told me that they would contact me within 3 weeks to pick up my treatment. Fast forward, it's been well over 3 weeks, I've never gotten a call from them about my treatment. I had to call them about it and decided to just cancel the whole damn thing. Negative experience: This was the worse experience, after a 1 hour wait, the dr. Could "not touch" touch my son's even less subtract a broken molar because there was beyon repair, unless I get a dentist surgeon doctor letter that says those molars are good for extraction, and a letter that says he can have local anesthesia to num and do a dental cleaning, so if you complain about the waiting time, he will make a excuse to not see you, besides there is no net, he can not recomend a dental surgeon or a dr. That can provide the letters he requested, that is so messed up, my son on vivid pain for the broken molars and not even a ibuprofen a quick pill to ease his pain, and simikar happened to me today, this doctor is just so useless

Negative experience: Literally the second time I come here and both times I walked in and got told to be rescheduled because they have too many patients this is ridiculous why are the MA’s over booking and why am I being told last minute after I walk in the time I had to take get someone to babysit my kids just to be rescheduled!
Negative experience: Every time my sister makes an appointment when she shows up they always ask can they reschedule her because the Dr is overbooked. They never call before hand to let her know. This happened to her again today. Worst service ever! She will not be returning!!

Negative experience: The worst experience ever. I was there for an appointment at 2:00 for two kids, and guess what time I went in, probably 3:40? They came in for the x-ray, then I went out at 4:35, and the second child wasn't examined yet. I sat there for two hours and a half—almost three hours of not getting anything done. Please look for a different dentist.

Fantastic experience: Thankful for the service that was provided. I had an old filling from my childhood fall out. The gap was deep but the dentist was able to help fill it in and keep it from continuing to be exposed. All staff was polite and helpful.

Fantastic experience: Western Dental is a great dentist office needs work on timing for general. Ortho side the doctor is amazing and the assistants are so nice. They get you in and out quick. They are general and work on you to your liking.

Negative experience: Guys oh no!!! This is soooooo hilarious!!! I wouldnt wish this situation to anyone!!! Guys both of my only “muelas” needed crowns!!! Before getting them fixed the doctor inserted me of course the anesthesia to numb the area, and literally after until now dude my jaw hurts!!!! I cant open my mouth for a bite to anything!!!! Both of my temporary crowns are always broken!!! I even went back 4 times already this is soooo ridiculous, and then to top it off the assistants are always in a hurry!!! Both of my temporary crowns have been made out of shape!!! Like dude why!!! They all seem to be so young!!! Long story short the actual crowns are mailed after a month!!!! Like really?? That long having to suffer with these temporary that dont even work!! Sorry but im just telling sharing my experience!! So sad to be honest guys!! No manchess…

Negative experience: This place is either always understaffed and always overbooked. I’m sure they do a great job but be prepared to lose hours of your time and cancel any other plans you might have for the day.
Fantastic experience: I just got my braces taken off!! I had them for 3 years and throughout the process Jesse S. and Dr. Alexander were very helpful! Every time I’d go in, they’d always welcome their patients with a smile. We’d also have some small talk during the appointment and the next time I saw them, they’d remember what we spoke about. They truly care about their patients and it was always a good time when I’d have my appointment :)

Negative experience: Very unprofessional I went to get a tooth pulled I made an appointment and they scheduled me for the same day just a later time. I accepted it I get there for them to tell me they overbooked the appointment. So the receptionist tell me "would you like another appointment". I kindly said "No you guys are very unprofessional" and walked out. They could of called me and told me the appointment was overbooked before I got there. I wasted time and gas driving over there.

Negative experience: Very unprofessional, I had an appointment at 1pm, they rescheduled me @11:30am. (The dental office notified me about rescheduling the morning of my original appointment, very inconvenient)The front desk clerk informed me at 12:30p that I would have to come back at 2pm because the dentist has to take lunch at 1pm. This was NOT my first choice but only option w/my insurance. I am very unhappy this far and have yet to see the dentist.
Positive experience: The first time i was here the appt took too long to get done so i had to leave before being seen, but this time around it was much quicker. Best to schedule your appt as early as possible and get there when they open. Also Danniel was very nice to guide me thru the x-rays and answered my questions abt my wisdom teeth, so thank you to him as well. All in all, good clean place with good staff, just overwhelmed by the sheer number of ppl (likely bc they take Medi-cal).
Fantastic experience: It's a really, really good thing that your staff can handle mynerves and put ne at ease. Today's appointment was rough but after about 3 hours they got me out. I can't tell you how I appreciate your staff. DANNIEL did a very professional job and walked me yhrough every step. He was able to match my new "tooth" with my others very well.

Negative experience: Absolutely awful service. On more than one occasion I have been scheduled on days that the dentist IS NOT EVEN THERE. I have waited three months for an appointment, received TWO texts to confirm my appointment only to show up the date of my appointment to be told my appointment has been cancelled because I didn't confirm. I showed the receptionist and without apology made me an appointment for one month later. To make matters worse, the dentist I was scheduled with wasn't even there for the date of my appointment. Can't call corporate to complain so I'm posting a review. I'm one of those people now.
Negative experience: I wish I can give 0 stars. My husband went for his first root canal, turned out good. Then he went to get his 4 wisdom teeth extracted. They didn't prescribe any medicine, and antibiotics for this surgery is a must to prevent infection. There were also bruises all over his gums. I go to a different dentist, and I had no bruises whatsoever and they prescribed me all the medicine I needed for the extractions. Then last week, he had his second root canal, they didn't even do it right. His tooth hurt extremely bad after, more than it did prior to the root canal. The only reason he goes to this dentist is because they accept medical. Now, I'm currently looking for another dentist. Hell nah this place ain't it go somewhere else

Negative experience: I was late by around 10 minutes ( I'm from winterhaven,ca ) and I had scheduled a appointment so they could take out a tooth or 2. When I got there I signed in and the ladies at the front desk began to say that MAYBE the dentist could fit me in. I had an appointment I didn't need to be fitted in. My mother drove around 45min- 1 hour just so they could say that the doctor was behind schedule and couldn't fit me in, when they clearly now that we come from far and I had an appointment !! So fyi if you are late you MIGHT be able to get service or MAYBE not. But when we got there on time last appointment they had us waiting for hours. We went home around 7pm which is 8 in winterhaven and got home around 9. We have to wait hours for them, but they can't wait 10 minutes for us ??! Bad experience overall.

Negative experience: Dentist was rude and never explained nothing to me as a parent & told my child to just take ibuprofen with no information what’s so ever, they took my insurance money and never referred me to a specialist. I was waiting for an answer after the x rays and he sent me to the front desk, in less words they didn’t do anything, and dentist was laughing the entire time, I don’t see what’s funny about having a dental emergency, I do not recommend. If I could I would rate them a 0 star, Horrible place.

Negative experience: *update* DO NOT COME HERE! They are the absolute worst. I had my kid get braces here. signed a contract, agreed on a amount for them to withdraw from my bank account every month. i finally finished paying it off. they have the audacity to call and say i still have a $900 balance! I showed them statements from my bank account showing all payments they withdrew and now are claiming are unpaid. Their response, "those payments where applied to a different account". Excuse me?! a different account. They better find that money and stop harassing me! Not to mention. During COVID i wasn't allowed to go in with my kid. They cornered my 11 year old daughter to leave them a 5 star review! The absolute worst customer service ever!!!! The ladies at the front desk are always in a foul mood. If you have a question, forget it! I unfortunately made the mistake of starting my kids Ortho treatment here, I can’t wait until they are done with the treatment so we can leave this place. I DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL!!!

Negative experience: GET A SECOND OPINION! They overfilled my teeth and gave me a root canal that wasn’t needed. They also misdiagnosed my husband with gingivitis. They only have one goal at this office - charge people as much as possible as they walk through the door. They never forwarded my paperwork to my new dentist and it’s also suspicious that they have signs everywhere that you can’t record. I am so upset that they charged us so much for procedures that were not needed. The gingivitis toothpaste and stuff was around $1200 and the new dentist we saw less than a month later said there was no way he had gingivitis. We should have sued! Do not believe anything they tell you - it’s been 2 years and we are still angry.

Positive experience: I hadn’t been to the dentist in years so I was really nervous but the techs made me feel better. I had to get fillings and had a nice tech that made me feel less nervous. The only thing I have to complain about is the wait time the first time I went I had an appointment at 1 and I didn’t get in till 2:30pm and was there for hours waiting. The second time I only waited thirty minutes so it was better. But it does suck when you have an appointment at a certain time and you don’t get in because people do have other things to do.

Next my dentist Dr. Biya was truly the best dentist I have ever dealt with. As a person with severe PTSD he made sure that I was comforted from start to finish. His knowledge of his profession exceeded my expectations and I am very lucky that I got to have him as my dentist. Normally I feel like I am being rushed in and out of the procedures but with DR. Biya it was different. He showed compassion to my needs and made sure that I was doing well throughout the whole procedure.
