Fantastic experience: Such excellent service and really kind staff! I have recently moved to Rochester and needed a new dentist after seeing the same dentist for 46 years. I had no idea where to go. I looked online at reviews and found this office to be almost 5 stars, so I took my chances that I'd have the same experience. I've been there 4 times over the past year for dental work and am so pleased each time I leave. Today's visit was no exception. I recommend this dental office to anyone unhappy with their current one or for anyone new to the area!

Positive experience: Be wary if you have kids who are either afraid of the dentist or just dont like going and may cause issue with getting the work done. They charge 80 dollars for unruly behavior(kids that dont cooperate). My girlfriend took our son here recently and they performed NOTHING because he just wasn't having it. Walked out with a $180 dollar bill for nothing performed. Im in no way judging the work they do, because they do do good work(that's why you get 3 instead of 1) but this charge is ridiculous and for that you lost 3 patients. So before you get any work done on your kids, get an estimate so you can see that charge for yourself and as for the business, if I were you I'd ditch the ridiculous charge before it costs you more patients.

Negative experience: I went in to get a filling fixed i was pretty disappointed that I had to pay the first filling lasted 22 years and we haven't been able to get this one to last longer than 6 months was told they guarantee their work for a year and that doesn't seem to be the case anymore... Other than that staff was friendly and pleasant, but not sure why the sudden change on policy...

Fantastic experience: Went in today to have my temporary crown taken out and the permanent one put in. They were very fast and efficient and did a wonderful job! Grabbed a cookie on the way out to save for later, which will be a special reminder treat of Northwest Dental.

Negative experience: Constant problems with a crown they put in - it never fit correctly (came off twice) which led to root infection. Billing & insurance department is not helpful at all. All around terrible experience.

Fantastic experience: Have had trouble keeping my bottom teeth clean. Then I drew Hillary as my hygienist. My teeth have never been cleaner, gums better. Northwest as a whole is very professional. Give Hillary wink as the perfect hygienist for my teeth.

Negative experience: Terrible experience. The first time I came here a couple years ago the experience was great but I don’t know if there is a change in management or staff or both. I had an appointment scheduled for the other week. They called me the day before and told me they wouldn’t have time to do my appointment as scheduled but that if I just wanted to have X-rays I could do that and come in another day for the cleaning. I said I’d like my appointment all at once as I scheduled. They made me reschedule the following week. The night before the appointment they called me and left a voicemail right before they closed for the day saying they had to cancel my appointment the next morning due to staff illness. The next morning I’m at work and get a voicemail from them saying I missed my appointment, a reminder of their cancellation policy and that now they won’t see me for at least a month. I called and talked to them and reminded them they cancelled. They forgot. They said they’d try to remove the “no show mark” on my account. Didn’t apologize just rescheduled me AGAIN. Today was my rescheduled appointment and I go there, check in, give them my insurance card, get the cleaning, X-ray, exam, fluoride, and a sealant. I declined the nitrous I usually get because the cost went up to $75. They told me the sealant was not covered by insurance and I agreed to pay $94 for it. I get to the counter and they try charging me for EVERYTHING. I told them I agreed to the $94 for the sealant but that insurance should cover the rest. They then told me my insurance is out of network and the payment was all due up front today. Obviously I wasn’t expecting to drop that kind of money and was unaware my insurance wasn’t covered there. I was expecting they would’ve told me that when I made the appointment, when I checked in and gave them my insurance, or before preforming any services. After some back and fourth, they agreed to send everything but the $94 sealant to insurance as I did agree to the sealant charge. However, they also said I’ll probably just get a bill from insurance with the full amount anyway. The receptionist even said the Byron location is covered by my insurance but not this locations. You couldn’t have told me that before my appointment?! What happened to this place?! I’m furious and feel deceived. This should be illegal to have hidden charges.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Lim and his team are exceptional. They’re always happy to see me and very kind. They go into depth when explaining my dental plan or questions I have. Dr. Lim is the first dentist since my childhood dentist that has been able to do my dental work without hurting me. He is very good at getting the area numb and very responsive to when I need a break. This is life changing for me because over the past 10 years I have had to deal with being in extreme pain during dental procedures. I couldn’t be more happy with my care. Thank you team!

Negative experience: Was charged for a cleaning, and the dentist didn't clean even clean my teeth. The dentist office referred me to a specialist because they said they couldn't clean my teeth. Talk about frauding the system. Would not return or recommend.

Positive experience: The service (two small fillings) was good, but I think the cost ($850) is outrageous. I've been a client for more than 45 years, but I'm going to shop around.

Negative experience: Money hungry shorty job. This dental office is the reason why I did not go to another denta office for 13 years. Greedy money grabbers once I told them I work for a major hospital in the area that had great dental benefits. Their tools were corroded and they stole from me not just a price hike. It’s 2025, who does a cleaning for $699 and tell me the deep one will be $299. They did not do a good job of my filling. The fallen dentist was pregnant. I remedial my bd experience from 2011.

Negative experience: My daughter was scheduled for a procedure, we picked my child early from school only to go there and was told that they couldn’t perform the procedure and needs to be referred to a pediatric dentistry but still let us pay $186 for just “trying”.

Negative experience: If I could give 0 stars I would. Had 2 fillings done in 2024 and it was the most painful experience. Switched to a different dental office after that. Fast forward to the present, the same 2 fillings I had done at Northwest, was done so poorly that my new dentist said I almost needed a root canal because debris was left in my teeth (which caused the pain) and the cavity had gotten worst deteriorating my 2 teeth. I had to pay hundreds of dollars to get the fillings re-done correctly. Would not be recommending or returning

Positive experience: My appointments seem to always run 15 minutes late. I know you would not see me if I showed up 15 minutes late so expect same curtesy. This is not the first time, my last appointment I waited 20 minutes and time before that about 15 minutes. Please adjust your appointment times so patients that leave work for the appointment are not wasting time in an awaiting g room. Or text me and let me know if the wait time.

Fantastic experience: I needed some major dental repair of a broken tooth. Northwest Dental staff got me scheduled in a timely manner. I was given a text reminder for the appointment and got in to see Dr Post within 3 minutes of my arrival. I was served by a very cordial, skilled dental assistant who immediately got me ready for the Dentist, complete with X-rays and background information about my dental needs. As usual, Dr Post assessed my situation, gave me a set of options, answered my questions and proceeded with the treatment plan. The whole experience was super as any tooth ache can be :-). That is why I keep coming back to Northwest Dental when I have a need. I highly recommend them for all your dental needs.

Fantastic experience: Attentive professional care beginning when you walk through the front door until you exit. Over three decades have appreciated the dedication and expertise of the staff. Whether it is a cleaning, concerns about an old filling or a new cavity, they explain, advise, and answer my questions. Utilizing their dental insurance plan has kept office visits affordable. Can't imagine a better deal in town. Obviously, I wouldn't consider switching to another dental group. Northwest Dental Group has provided me with exemplary care for over 30 years

Negative experience: The staff are nice and helpful, but I had a cavity in one of the teeth, they went too deep to clean it, so I ended up with root canal treatment and crown in a different clinic. Same happened to my kid went too deep to clean a cavity, luckily it was milk tooth we had to take it off.

Fantastic experience: Northwest dental always does a fabulous job. I was seen at the Superior drive location today. My dental hygienist was Aly. She did an amazing job removing the stubborn stains on my teeth. She was very thorough and did a fabulous job with the cleaning and examination. I really appreciate all the time that she spent with me making my teeth look their best. They’re the best dentist in Rochester which is why they have so many locations. I use to be seen at the 14th street location which has now moved and they were amazing there as well. I set up my next cleaning and scheduled my crown today. I highly recommend Northwest Dental.

Fantastic experience: I needed to remove an old filling and replace it as soon as possible. I was able to schedule the appointment and get in quickly. The service is 10/10 every time I go to NW dental. I was in and out in about 45 minutes. They also let you know before they do any work what the plan is and how much it will cost. Highly recommend them for any dental work.

Negative experience: The cleaning was good and the staff was kind but I'm so upset they don't keep your molds for retainers. I've never heard of a dental place that doesn't keep your molds. If I had known, I would've asked for them to keep myself. Now my teeth have shifted and I'll have to get molds of how they are now. Extremely disappointing. Also, they had scheduled someone at the same time as my appointment and told me they weren't sure if they were going to be able to get to me. They did my cleaning but I waited around a lot and who knows if they actually took their time to do a good job.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Lim and his team was very thorough and explained all diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment plan. Patient portal works great and easy to make follow up appointments.

Negative experience: Very upsetting and disappointing experience. They never told me that they didn’t take my insurance beforehand, nor did they tell me that they needed the wire off my braces removed for the exam. My prior dentist was able to do a full exam with the wire. So I showed up and Dr Lim barely looked at my teeth, saying he couldn’t determine if it was decay or just the metal from the braces. Which is absurd because this has never been an issue in the past and I have had braces for almost 3 years and have never had this problem. He took a peek..: and I paid for a full exam and took time off work for a exam I never really got. Felt like he just didn’t want to look . And now I have to be stressed wondering if I have cavities or not. Summer is a excellent hygenist, but that’s the only good thing about my appointment
