Negative experience: STAY AWAY! Went for a routine cleaning. Did X-rays and dentist looked at mu teeth and had no issues. Hygienist refused to do routine cleaning saying I was required to complete the advanced cleaning that wasn't covered by insurance. I said I wanted the standard cleaning but was told that was not an option. Hygienist behind me was also discussing how she had pink eye and had to go home.

Fantastic experience: I’ll be writing two reviews for both appointments because they’re just that good!!! I’m an incredibly anxious person and hate being the center of attention, so you can imagine how fun the typical dental appointment is for me. My first time coming in my heart was racing, I was sweaty, arms spaghetti (or whatever Em said). When the staff picked up on that, they patiently walked me through everything and made jokes, leaving me completely at ease during my procedure. I also appreciated how they stopped to listen to my concerns without being dismissive or rude. They’re definitely in my book!!

Negative experience: Lack of privacy while I was being examined door was wide and more than 3 people's were looking straight at me until I ask the tech what those people doing? Pontraco Smiles failed to fall through their services to this point. I was told Dr will call me for service appointment as if he if he doesn't have administrators.

Negative experience: Potranco Smiles MISDIAGNOSED my tooth! After moving to Texas, it took me a while to find a new dentist. My mouth is not exactly a dentist's dream but I am diligent about dental health (brush, floss, regular cleanings every 6mo). I've been with the same dentist for over a decade but I let the routine slip after the move because finding a new dentist is the worrrst. I was eventually forced to find one (after 14 months) because a previous root canal site was painfully sensitive. I booked an appt with Potranco Smiles online because they NEVER answer the phone. Don't try calling them. The whole experience at the appointment itself was just ok. I had the routine x-rays and a cleaning done. The hygienist made some judgy comments about how long it'd been since my last appt but whatever maybe that was my own guilt. The dentist was friendly enough, took a look at the x-rays and did his exam. They referred me to a specialist because they couldn't repair my crown at the office. Fine. So I go to the specialist and, after a high tech, special 3D x-ray, they tell me there's nothing wrong with the crown BUT I have a hole in the top of the tooth NEXT TO the root canal site. Basically, a 30yo filling needs to be redone. Their very simple exam involved taking a cold q-tip and touching the tooth next to it. I had my diagnosis and paid $250 for it (they were actually really great). But please tell me: Why couldn't Potranco Smiles figure this out? 2 professionals spent a lot of time looking in my mouth AND I had x-rays done. What's worse is they were supposed to call after the specialist forwarded their findings to repair the tooth. 5 months later. Still no call. No follow-up. Crickets. At this point I'm just waiting to go to another dentist while dealing with the pain but I prefer that than go back to them. Thanks, Potranco Smiles, for wasting my time and money! !

Negative experience: They were fairly priced but didn't like how they did nothing for my pain while they had to set my appointment up 4 days out because they were out of bonegraphs for an extraction. Lucky my boyfriend came home and saw how much pain I was during the night and drove me to get a second opinion the next morning. The 2nd opinion prescribed me steroids (which took away almost all my pain)and was able to save my tooth. I don't like how I told the dentist that I was taking 800mg of ibuprofen and 1500 of Tylenol every three hours just to get the tiniest bit of relief. I was worried because I explained I had gastric bypass and I'm not supposed to take ibuprofen and was afraid it would end up burning a hole in my stomach.

Fantastic experience: Only my second visit to this clinic. They brought me in. We discussed what I needed and wanted. No rush, took the time to review and I went home with the instructions to move forward. Great staff throughout the visit. With photos an physical examinations of all details and great conversations throughout. I look forward to moving forward with my next visit and completion of the work.

Fantastic experience: Dentist is excellent, front office staff is courteous and knowledgeable. The office sees you in a timely manner, and they don’t try and get you to purchase treatment you don’t need. Dentist is highly recommended. The only suggestion I have is limiting the amount of overstimulation. In the exam room alone there were two different televisions playing different shows, and you could also hear the music from the lobby. This could be difficult for someone with anxiety about being at the dentist. A more calming environment would be great. Thank you

Thank you for teaching and informing me step-by-step as you work on my treatment, plans, and goals. I am referring all my military peers to Dr Ahmed at Potranco Smiles!

Negative experience: I’ve never felt more uncomfortable than going here, first when I walk in the receptions both appeared to be in training possibly but also weirdly wired and tripping over everything, the the hygienists assist was taking x-rays of me without a cape on me, and once she got to the hand held one she was saying how they don’t have everything they actually need to do that right but “we’ll see how it goes”. The hallway was CRAMPED and swarmed with people. The doctor came in, checked the X-rays, and here’s the alarming part… while checking the inside of my mouth with the silver sharp nosed tool he was looking at and talking to an assistant standing in the doorway… WHILE SCRAPING MY TEETH. He said I was pretty good and the hygienist would be in, once she arrived she measured my teeth then proceeded to diagnose me with a horrible gum disease and bone loss, she even asked if the doctor had been in to see. I hadn’t had any teeth pain or any bleeding gums so I was skeptical. They proceed to NOT clean my teeth, stating I needed shots in my mouth and DEEP CLEANING (which they were going to charge me over $300) for with insurance. I’m glad i went elsewhere and trusted my gut because the next dentist I went to confirmed I had no bone loss or gum disease, a couple cavities but easy to fill (and charging me under $100 to do so). I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THE INCOMPETENCE OF Dr Ahmed and his office. GO ELSEWHERE!

Booked online and was able to put my insurance information with ease. Signed their forms online through text link. Showed up 10 minutes early Read and signed another form physically. Waited Got in They took an X-ray of my head and height. Then led me to a room asked me some questions. Got more X-rays of my teeth. Then cleaned my teeth. Added Floride at the end so i couldn't eat or drink for 30 minutes. Led me out. At 10:53 AM when I came in 9:50 AM

Fantastic experience: The new staff are amazing, from the front desk to back. I had a medium-deep cleaning, 3 cavities fixed, and was fitted for a mouth guard in an hour and a half on a Saturday. What’s more impressive - it looked like some TV show or ballet, the people were so coordinated.

I especially want to note the excellent work cleaning my teeth by Leaya. This is the best and most thorough cleaning in the last 10 years without doubt. We tried the Potranco Smiles and she did amazingly with the whole staff, I expressed my concern with the previous dentist and they completely understood and treated my daughter perfectly and with respect. The dentist was very polite and very friendly with her. He said “I want her to want to come to the dentist and not be afraid” I absolutely loved that and will recommend this dental office many times.

My experience was a very good one all the way around, from when I called to make the appointment, to checking in with the friendly ladies at the front desk, to meeting Dr. Ahmed and his really sweet assistant. They were very informative and upfront about what my insurance covered and any out of pocket expenses I may be responsible for (which was not much). Dr. Ahmed was super knowledgeable and very throurough.

They explained what I insurance would and wouldn’t pay. My treatment was great as well.
