Fantastic experience: I was at the Pearl - Tryon Street location today for a 6 month checkup and cleaning. Couldn’t be more pleased with the whole process. The front desk ladies were friendly, nice and very professional. The hygienist, Taylor, was so good at her job and very knowledgeable about issues that were a concern for me. She also is super nice and friendly too. Dr. Jenna gave me a great check up. She and I then discussed my concerns and she gave me instructions on what I can do at home to help my mouth and teeth until I can get back for the procedure I need. I was totally pleased with every aspect of my visit today.

Fantastic experience: I visited Pearl Dentistry Reimagined for my first dental appointment in a couple of years, which included an exam and cleaning. I was also exploring the possibility of getting braces, so I wanted to make sure my teeth were in tip-top shape — cavity-free and well taken care of. First things first: if you have parking anxiety like I do, just know the uptown location can be a little confusing at first. I definitely recommend checking ahead or calling if you’re unsure about where to park. Once inside, though, the experience completely shifted in the best way. The office is clean, modern, and comfortable. From the moment I walked in, the front desk staff was welcoming and friendly — not just checking me in, but making a real effort to connect, which immediately put me at ease. I interacted with three different hygienists over the course of my visits. Each had their own unique personality, and all were knowledgeable, gentle, and informative. I appreciated how thorough they were and how clearly they explained what was going on at every step. Although they don’t offer the specific type of braces I’m interested in — and their referred orthodontist doesn’t either — I still appreciated how they took the time to walk me through my x-rays and show me areas of concern. Even though I couldn’t quite see what they were pointing out (everything looked so light and nearly the same color to me!), I really valued their effort and patience in trying to explain things clearly. I met two dentists — one briefly popped in to review my x-rays and confirm the hygienist’s findings, and another performed the actual dental work. I had to get treatment on both the left and right sides, and I appreciated how they were able to schedule those appointments within the same week, which kept everything efficient and stress-free. The dentist who did my work has been practicing for over 40 years, and his confidence and calm demeanor made a world of difference. He walked me through every step, made light jokes to keep things relaxed, and truly made me feel like I was in good hands. I do have dental anxiety (even if I hide it well), but his care, preparation, and skill — especially with the numbing process — made the whole experience almost completely pain-free. I was even offered a drink and given the option to watch TV during the procedure, which is a thoughtful touch that really enhanced the comfort level.

Fantastic experience: On time appointment; friendly, helpful & gentle staff. Validated parking should be at a closer location; preventive dentistry kit should be given with cleaning appointment ( toothbrush, paste, floss… etc Overall a great dental experience.

Negative experience: I’ve gone to Pearl for four years and have left a good review on the past. Some things have changed. I’ve never been charged for a routine teeth cleaning. This last time, I was charged $130. They said my insurance is out of network. I don’t understand because I found this place because they did accept my insurance. They said I wasn’t charged in the past because I had “credits” on my account which I don’t know where those would come from or for what. The financial and admin seem to be a little off at this place. It’s a nice place visually. Just do your homework before going on.

Negative experience: I have been to Pearl several times. The office is somewhat nice, although not as clean as in the past. The hygienist talked the entire hour she was painfully cleaning my teeth and then made a comment that this wasn’t my favorite place to go. Who likes going to the dentist? My insurance doesn’t seem to cover much at all and I always end up paying a lot out of pocket. Even though I have been there several times and have a history of teeth issues, they are really not empathetic at all. I was basically told the pain is my fault. I have been recommended services that my insurance doesn’t cover and then surprise that I can’t afford it. I would not recommend this place. I truly do not trust the advice and referrals they’ve given me and in all it feels a bit like a waste of money, and my time.

Positive experience: Would recommend Pearl if your insurance covers it. From a nice office and friendly staff to what I felt like a good job on cleaning and X-rays it was overall a good experience. Only downside is that I found out after my first cleaning and x-rays visit that they are not in-network with my insurance (MetLife), and that I owed $58 out of pocket for the visit. Wish this was something that I was made aware of when I filled out my new patient forms and sent them my insurance card ahead of my appointment.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been coming to Pearl for the past 3 years and it’s constantly been a great experience. All of the staff are kind and welcoming. I’ve gotten regular check up/cleanings, Botox for my jaw and fill in here and there. It feels like a spa experience more than a dentist office. I’ve been seeing Dr. Jenna and most recently did my cleaning with Mackenzie who was a delight! Would recommend to anyone looking for a new dentist.

Negative experience: I had a disappointing experience at Pearl Dentists. While the staff was polite, the overall process felt more like a business strategy than patient-centered care. I came in for a routine cleaning, which turned into a 90-minute appointment involving multiple staff members, extensive X-rays, and no actual cleaning. Instead, I was told I needed a deep cleaning with numbing, plus additional dental work—none of which was explained in a way that felt trustworthy or transparent. It felt like an upsell from the start, with a strong push to maximize my insurance coverage rather than address my actual dental needs. For context, I’ve never had major dental issues, and the buildup on my teeth was routine. Being told they would only do a deep cleaning (not a regular one) was confusing and unnecessary. This appointment was a waste of time—I left frustrated and without having received any treatment. Pearl Dentists should focus more on efficiency and transparency, rather than pushing services that don’t align with the patient’s history or needs. I won’t be returning, and I’d advise others to explore practices that are more straightforward and patient-focused.

Fantastic experience: The 5-Stars really belongs to the dental hygienist who took great care of me, Sage. She was personable and explained everything so well. Dr. Jena was nice. My only downside was the lack of a little sink next to the dental chair with some listerine after the service. Yes, they rinsed and had suction but all the other dentists I’ve ever been to had one and I felt its absence. This was also the first dental office I left without a goodie bag. No big deal but I noticed it’s absence as well. Also noteworthy my appointment was for 7:30AM and I felt like I had walked into a club. Lol. It was a different experience for me but overall I would recommend them, especially Sage! You’re great girl!

Negative experience: STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AT ALL COST. They will lie to you about charges with any initial visits, bill you for a bunch of stuff you didn't request nor provide a heads up, and then send surprise bills YEARS later from a routine dental visit. There are way better options in Uptown with friendlier and, more importantly, transparent and non-fraudulent service. Pearl, lying to your patients is not okay, do better. When I brought up the contradictory information they have been giving me over my various attempts at resolving an issue, they ghosted me and demonstrated to be every bit as unprofessional as they have been throughout my other encounters with them. Details below. September 2023: I went to Pearl for a routine checkup in September 2023. Considering the service I received, a complete lack of bedside manner, and astonishing rudeness from the individual who performed my cleaning (they were so aggressive with the cleaning that I had to endure pain and the spot where they were too rough bleeding for days after), I never went back to this practice for my dental needs. They added a bunch of services I didn't ask for and told me at the time that my out of pocket cost was fully covered. January 2025-March 2025: Cutting to the present and almost 2.5 years later, I received a surprise bill from this visit. I immediately called them and was informed "we switched to a new payment system and false bills have been sent out over the week. You can ignore anything that was sent as we sort through this". I received the statement again after a few weeks, so I tried to get a hold of someone again. After multiple attempts of trying to get an explanation for this, I had no luck. They finally got back to me in March 2025 claiming I actually owed the amount, even though I had already been told during both contacts in Sep 2023 and Jan 2025 that I owed nothing. The person I spoke with two months later in March 2025 tried to gaslight me by saying "Statements have gone out periodically since you were last here but we have since changed out billing system and they are going out on a regular basis now in 2025". This is completely false and contradicts what they told me back in January 2025. This is completely false as I had never received a bill from this visit back in Sep 2023 before, and I don't know what Pearl's definition of "periodic" is, but I wouldn't call sending a bill after 2.5 years periodic. I would highly recommend going to any of of the many other dentists in the area.

Fantastic experience: Couldn’t have asked for a better experience with Dr. Jenna and her team (Virginia specifically!). Not only did they beautifully repair a broken veneer, but guided me through the process of fixing some things I didn’t love about my old ones! Just got all my new permanents put in today and could not be more thrilled with the result!!! Dr. Jenna was very open and honest with her thoughts and opinions when I would ask questions and was just incredible to work with! Cannot wait to add a few more veneers to my smile line in the future!!!

Fantastic experience: I have been coming to Pearl. for a few years now. Each time has been a pleasure seeing Dr. Anthony Perrino. Going to the dentist can be a nervous experience but the environment, staff, and techs are wonderful. I can’t recommend this practice enough!

Fantastic experience: I have had the most phenomenal experience here at Pearl. Transparently, I have a strong phobia of coming to the dentist and I made that very clear to each team member I worked with. From coming in until it was time for me to leave, each team member fully accommodated me and ensured I was fully comfortable and knowledgeable during the entire process (which was also PAINLESS). One thing I believe is so helpful for anyone with anxiety are the beats headphones and Netflix access you are given to watch during your service. I have so much gratitude to Sage and Dr. Jenna for their expertise, delicacy, professionalism, and overall focus ensuring I had a great experience. I am proud to call this my dentist and feel so much more at ease about my future visits to the dentist.

Fantastic experience: I absolutely love Pearl and the people who work there! After going to family dentists my whole life and hating the experience, Pearl was a breath of fresh air. Update - I just finished an Invisalign treatment with Pearl and could not recommend the service enough. They were wonderful about adjusting my treatment plan based on what worked for my teeth and very responsive to any issues I was having with trays or attachments.

Fantastic experience: 2024: updated review! Yaneth and Dr. Anthony continue to provide this practice a reliable experience. I enjoyed getting my teeth procedure done- not many people can say that!! They make you feel good and they do good. They will NEVER cut corners and only want the best for you. Yaneth was so great- she re taught me how to floss with my temp tooth and then showed me again today. She’s great and Dr. Anthony is a magician. Thank you both ♥️ 2023: oh my gosh - are they amazing or what??? They truly care about you. I broke my filling due to soft teeth (something I have been working on since my life changing accident) and BOY do they do the most. The oral dental lead, Anthony, not only remembered everything about me (can you imagine explaining trauma over and over again to different doctors??! Horrifying) and they REMEMBERED ME AND EVERY DETAIL OF ME. Not only that- are willing to pay to redo my broken filling, which I KNOW was no fault to him or the service. I am always taken care of at pearl. Truly wish everyone knew how much doctors could care. 2021: Recently broke my jaw and despite this, I was treated with exceptional service and care. They took heavy consideration of my condition and gave me multiple breaks throughout the process. The atmosphere is such a refreshing take. I really enjoyed getting my teeth fixed and bonded with the doctors very much. Totally coming back and counting down the days for a cleaning.

Very thorough....Only issue is the lobby - they need to remove toxic and strong liquid fragrance from the waiting room behind the big mirror - had to wait outside - as a medical facility, this office should be fragrance free! I complained to front desk and they agreed but the office manager never followed up with my complaint - not sure if it is safe to go back.

Negative experience: Got some fillings done here, the dentist assistant and everyone was very nice and wonderful. Unfortunately the dentist did not due a good job. The fillings left my teeth sharp and in pain, I was biting down directly on filling which is wrong according to another dentist. I went back due to the pain and discomfort and they said nothing was wrong or could be done. I went to another dentist and they validated my concerns and fixed me up immediately. I would never let Pearl do another filling again.

Fantastic experience: My experience was 10/10! From the moment I walked into Pearl I was greeted by Brooke and the other incredible staff. While waiting, Brooke was so informative and patient with all of my questions. Additionally, when I was taken back for my cleaning the team was very kind and Dr. Jenny was incredible to speak with. Fantastic experience: The hygienists are always so friendly and my teeth feel super clean! The dentists are honest but gentle when they tell you about the state of your mouth. I had multiple cavities filled and dental anxiety held me back from treatment until I found pearl. Dr. Anthony and Dr Jenna have both been great. The Tv and headphones helped too. Leaving is never painful either, as the desk people help explain everything money and insurance wise and work to get your payment. I love this Dentist.

Fantastic experience: I absolutely love coming to Pearl. It truly makes coming to the dentist enjoyable. I love the free teeth whitening they offer. Their customer service from the moment you walk in is exceptional and will keep me a loyal client! I also love the headphones with the two tvs in each room! I just had my fiancé switch to them also.

Fantastic experience: This experience has probably been the best in my life of visiting the dentist, and I keep up with my appointments for the most part. They are very thorough with great attention to detail, and thoughtful. As beautiful as the office is, when you walk in, you might think that you’re about to walk out owing your arm and leg. Maybe even a couple of toes on the other foot, but absolutely not. The staff are wonderful, aesthetics are great and it’s calming. I highly suggest you make an appointment with Pearl. And no, I wasn’t paid for this. It’s truly my experience.

Negative experience: Dr. Anthony and the office manager Jennifer Geist were extremely unprofessional. I had anxiety going for a medical procedure and Dr. Anthony prescribed medicine without validating my personal preference in treatment plan resulting in the procedure being cancelled from their admitted error. The lack of concern for their patients is very disheartening. I DO NOT recommend this dental practice to anyone. I have never felt more disrespected and unsafe in a doctors office.

Negative experience: My family and I have been going here since 2021. I will begin by saying Dr. Anthony is great. I’ve also had the pleasure of meeting Britany who is the best D. Assistant in the Tryon building, she’s very genuine and professional. Unfortunately, when Britany isn’t there I get Erica as a dental assistant. In 2023 I asked Erica how safe is fluoride for my child, she seemed upset about my concerns for whatever reason. She answered my question and walked away. My daughter had to use the restroom so we stepped. I saw Erika prepping the doc about my question with a mocking face/tone, as I walked by listening and facing them, they both froze. Ive given Erica grace, and didn’t complain about this back then. It’s been about 7 months since that incident. Two days ago for our appt, Erica assisted my daughter and in a condescending way ask “Do you have any concerns about your daughter today?” I said, um.. no. She said ok and walked away with my little one. Once I was done with my cleaning I went to check on my daughter in the room she was in, she was fine so I walked back to my room as I wait for Dr. Anthony. As soon as I went to my room, Erica was once again gossiping with my dental assistance, once she sees me she stuttered and says “Nevermind!” And rushes out. (SECOND TIME I CAUGHT HER) Dr. Jenna then walks in and says my daughter will need to go to a pediatrician since she will not stay still for the sealant. I said that’s weird, shes never been a fussy patient, can you at least work with me and try having us in the room with our daughter before just kicking her out as a patient? She said sure. In conclusion, Dr. Jenna & Erica have been so unprofessional with the gossip since I asked the dentist and dental question. Thanks to them, I am no longer a Pearl patient. Maybe next time wait until the patient leaves the building, and then proceed to gossip about them.

Fantastic experience: What a grand experience. I originally went in to get bonding and got educated about my smile and bite. I opted to get Invisalign and fix my bite before bonding. Well today is my day I finished it all! I couldn’t be happier with my smile! I finished Invisalign, fixed my bite, got bonding on my front teeth and feel like a million bucks. What a small minor change and addition to enhance the overall look of my facial features. The uptown location is great, the staff is nice and down to earth. They really have changed my view of dentistry. Thanks all!!

Negative experience: I had a painful (not physically) experience with Pearl...it took half a dozen separate appointments to have my crown completed (it was improperly fit, TWICE). This was back in the summer of 2022.... Now, I have changed employers, have new dental insurance, and no longer visit this location out of convenience. Yesterday, 5/28/24, I received a text message stating that "my claim from 06/28/2022 has finally been processed, leaving a balance on my account of $396." 1st issue: I was not even aware there was a pending claim. Pearl has corresponded with me numerous times about coming in for a cleaning and their appointment availability...but provided zero information about a pending claim they were appealing with Guardian Dental. This text was my first knowledge of an unsettled balance with Pearl. The text message continues..."If you have any questions, please contact your insurance directly. We will charge the amount to your card on file on 5/31/2024." The message continues that if I prefer a different payment method I need to contact them by TODAY, 5/29/24 to arrange that. 2nd issue: I no longer have this insurance provider as I've changed employers, I do not even remember who the provider was at that time. I have since learned it was Guardian. 3rd issue: The audacity to charge a patient's card with less than one business day's notice, after the claim has been open for 23 months to the date, is offensive customer service and obscene business practice.

Fantastic experience: I have been coming to Pearl for years and I love it. I switched to Pearl after several bad dental experiences so I came to them with a lot of fear and anxiety over having any dental work done. Since day one they've taken the time at every appointment to walk through my xrays and treatment plan, answer any questions, give me advice and recommendations.. I even moved to VA for a few years and would come down for dentist appointments because I trust them so much with my teeth. Ive had fillings, a root canal and two crowns done by Pearl over the years and my teeth look and feel great. Highly recommend! 10/10

Fantastic experience: The experience is always great and very peaceful. I come to get all my cleanings done here and it’s always a quick in & out! Definitely Recommend! Doctor Jenna & Brooke are amazing; They got me back to a confident smile ! The staff are very sweet as well!

Fantastic experience: I had an amazing dentist experience here. I just moved here and through a word of mouth recommendation I had a cleaning + cavities filled here and I can say everybody is 100% professional and just kind and really cares about you and the health of your teeth. Furthermore, when it came to filling my Cavities the whole process was very efficient. I will be seeing them again

Fantastic experience: Pearl and the staff was absolutely amazing! Super accommodating and makes you feel very comfortable. They are transparent about pricing and do not try to convince you into anything you don’t want to do!

Fantastic experience: Best dentist experience ever. Been coming here for 7 years. The dentist and staff answer all of my questions, they are friendly and super gentle. Paperwork is quick since it can be done from your phone. I love that you can watch Netflix from a TV on the ceiling. Highly recommend Pearl.

Fantastic experience: If you have childhood dental trauma, this is a safe place! Doctor A is incredibly kind and takes his time to make sure you’re comfortable. He’s very gentle and explains what he’s doing before he switches to different tools which was incredibly comforting for me. Additionally, Brittany and Tia, two of his assistants are also comforting and very understanding of dental anxiety. They’re also all about getting some giggles in and helping pick out what movie to watch, which is just super sweet and much appreciated. The dentist has been terrifying for me for many years after having a traumatic experience as a child. I’m relieved that I found Dr A and his staff after moving to Charlotte. Highly recommend!

Negative experience: I hate that I even have to write this review. First of all I had EXCEPTIONAL care by the dentists and assistants. My frustration is the billing/insurance department. I was told incorrectly by the front desk when my waiting period would be up for my insurance so I scheduled my appointment after for my fillings, to then pay over $1500 because they were off by a month for my waiting period. It’s very frustrating because I never would have scheduled my appointment and had it done had I know the amount I’d end up paying.

Fantastic experience: Pearl is truly incredible. They are transparent, gentle, thoughtful, and quick. I had my first fillings today with Dr.Anthony & Brittany and felt seen & heard throughout the whole process. They continued to check in on me and even gave me apple juice when I was feeling lightheaded from the anesthetic. I would HIGHLY recommend coming here! A plus- you can enjoy sparkling water in the office & your favorite TV show while in the chair. So grateful for this team, thank you for all you do!

Fantastic experience: I'd been meaning to switch dentists for a while but was always hesitant - I'm so glad I finally did! The dentist is never "fun" but I really like going to Pearl - Uptown Charlotte Tryon. The staff is friendly and always very helpful. Dr. Jenna is amazing, makes me feel heard and always makes sure that I feel comfortable. UPDATE: I was already happy with Pearl but after going through Invisalign and getting my veneers redone I am in love! Dr. Jenna is a dental wizard. The journey took a little over a year, the staff treated me so kindly, and my smile has never looked better. No joke, I get compliments on my teeth and my smile all of the time. I knew they would look good but I'm blown away by the results. If you're even just considering Invisalign or veneers, I highly recommend the extremely talented Dr. Jenna and her amazing team at Pearl.
