The Croc Doc: Dentistry Just For Kids

Fantastic experience: The croc is the best kids dental office in El Paso I have been bringing my kids here since they were babies. I love the way they treat My kids, they take their time cleaning their teeth and doing exam! I never feel like Dr is in a rush or recommending anything not needed! I highly recommend this dental office it is important that our children are not afraid to see a dentist! They have the most patient and kind chair side manner! I truly enjoy bringing my kids here! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Negative experience: We've been going to Croc Doc for about 5 years for our two kids. I have recommended them to quite a few families in those first couple of years, especially. The last 3-4 visits have been lower quality than before (the dentist was not as kind with my son who has anxiety with dental procedures). In fact, we transferred over from another family dentist for that exact reason. I've continued to go for our kids' teeth cleanings mostly because I've been happy with the rest of the staff and experience. We usually arrive to our appointments within 5 minutes of the appointed time, typically right at the start time-but today, we arrived 15 minutes after-which was not at all intentional and partially due to having to take a detour. A few minutes after our arrival, the lady at the desk said she had to ask permission if we could keep our appointment because *now* it was 1:18 and they *now* have a policy for those over 15 min late due to being short staffed. I understand that it is their prerogative to make such a policy, but it is a change that was not mentioned in the many, many appointment reminder texts I have received over the last 10 days. Aside from that, when we walked in it was 1:15, which I know because I checked the time getting out of the car and it was 1:14 with a very short walk inside. I will not be going back--aside from changing the policy and cancelling us the first time we are there so late in 5 years, I already was on the fence about the practice. I will say Dr. Amir seems to have worked on being friendlier with kids these last couple of visits, but that is really not a nice way to treat a family who has been with the practice for so long.

Positive experience: The Croc Doc has changed in recent years and not necessarily for the better. Previously, even if appointments weren’t exactly on time, they usually started within 10 minutes. Now, with Dr. Parco no longer there, wait times often stretch to 45 minutes or even an hour. That’s tough on parents who have jobs and especially hard on kids who don’t have the patience for such long delays. The quality of dental care is still good, but the overall experience has shifted. The Croc Doc used to strike a thoughtful balance between excellent care and respect for families’ time. Lately, it feels like the focus has shifted from children’s health to seeing as many patients as possible. That might be typical for many medical practices but it’s a disappointing change for what the Croc Doc used to be.

Positive experience: Had a bit of an uncomfortable moment, the doctor was too rough with my son who has sensory issues, I let them know but it seemed like the doctor just ignored his assistant. Didnt have that with my other son, he had a great experience with getting his crowns on. Having twins I want to be able to take my children to the same dentist, without having them have two different experiences. I'm not one to get upset but when dealing with my children, I take it personally, if you are a recommendation based on children's needs, maybe explain to the child to talk to them instead of just grabbing him and kinda scaring him, he doesn't know this is his first time with you, anyway, I'm just a little disappointed, especially because I have special needs, children.

Negative experience: My son had an appointment at 9:00am to get some treatment done that required sedation. We got called back immediately and the assistant started the prep right away. My son took medication and it started working immediately. He was calm and cooperative, and was able to get his mouth opened to prepare for his treatment. 30min went by and he requested the assistant to the back to talk to her about a personal matter, so another assistant came in and took the device out of his mouth as it was taking longer than expected. I’m already a little weary because of how things are going. So the first assistant came back in to take over. I asked her where the dentist was and she asked someone else. So roughly an hour goes by, and they finally try to prep my son again and put the device back in his mouth because the hygienist is ready.By this time, he’s starting to become aware of what’s going on and he panics. I immediately grabbed my son and the hygienist said, we’d have to reschedule due to my son not wanting to cooperate, which I didn’t plan on letting him go ahead with the procedure anyways. So upon leaving I stopped by the front desk and they asked me for payment for the sedation. I asked them why, when treatment wasn’t completed. They stated because he took the medication. I then said, well obviously it was due to expecting the treatment and that the hygienist felt like addressing a personal matter rather than tending to his patient. I would have gladly made payment, if we would’ve received treatment. I don’t know who wakes up and decides to take their kid to a dentist to get sedated without receiving services. Needless to say, I won’t be returning back to that office

Fantastic experience: Best place for my son with autism. He feels comfortable and all staff is pleasant and very patient including Dr. my goodness the patience is amazing and kindness! Will be relocating my other kids here too

Positive experience: I love bringing my kids here the only problem I have is the wait. It doesn't matter if we have an appointment we end up waiting over an hour to get seen and get our cleaning done. By the time they get to my little one he is already restless and he won't sit down.

Positive experience: This office has always been good. We changed to a different one when we moved to the westside, and we came back. It’s worth the drive. We take our two kids, 10 and 11 yrs. The nurse working with our daughter did an awesome job. Took her time and was worked meticulously. The nurse that worked with our son was lackluster. She had a very thick Spanish accent and it was very difficult to understand her. She rushed the cleaning and the other procedures. Also, she seemed hesitant to speak to the parents. This is the only reason I rated 4 stars instead of 5. Everything and everyone else was 5⭐️

Negative experience: This is the last time I come to the office - this dentist makes you wait HOURS before seeing you - always making me late to work or completely makes me reschedule my entire day . Over two hours late to a dental appt is unacceptable and unprofessional ! This is the third time ! Do not come here unless you want your time to be disrespected by a dentist that can barely even shower it seems . The hygiene from this supposed ” professional “is atrocious spend your insurance money somewhere else ! NEW UPDATE RESPONDING TO UNPROFESSIONAL DENTIST : The fact that you pathetically focused on your looks and tried to make this review about your hygiene shows your lack of ACCOUNTABILITY TO YOUR PATIENTS! you looked like you hadn’t showered in days and your hair was greasy and unkept like a college frat boy . Not to mention the body odor. Aside from that - you said you can’t find my account and I’m not referring to the 2 hour sedation -don’t scapegoat this post to fit your narrative . You have no accountability and refuse to apologize for the multiple times you have had me wait WITHOUT Notice - complete disrespect to your patients time . Word of mouth and screenshots of your response spread like fire and because of your petty unprofessional response, lack of accountability and refusal to apologize for the inconvenience- I will be sharing my experience to friends and family. I can care less if “ have many patients that go to your clinic “ glad you can pat yourself on the back, be so proud . This is PRIME example of how you hold no respect for a patient at your clinic . Fantastic experience: Called on a Friday to get in because my son chipped his tooth. They got us in first thing Saturday morning. Every single staff member is attentive and so nice. We are from out of town and are going to move all our kids for a permanent dentist that’s how much I loved it.

Negative experience: The staff at The Croc Doc were very friendly and made you feel welcomed. We appreciate that they are open on the weekend which accommodates our busy schedules. Unfortunately the doctor made our experience unpleasant and we will not be returning. We understand he has many patients to see, yet there were questions I had regarding my son and the doctor seemed dismissive and quite frankly, came off rude. He definitely needs to work on his bedside manner to ensure he keeps the patients he has.

I take a long drive from fort bliss but it’s all worth it, starting with customer service that’s a big thing for me and just how well they treat their patients. Negative experience: I have three kids who are former patients. On Jan 06 they had an appointment and they couldn’t see my daughter because they couldn’t verify her Medicaid. My daughter had her first appointment at 10:00 I got there first and two other patients got seen before her. Angie was rude and shouldn’t be in this office. Telling me I should be fine because she was next.

Fantastic experience: My 11 yr old is usually scared of the dentist but this is the gentlest staff I have ever met. They made him comfortable and worked VERY quickly. Also, they scheduled us ASAP and called to offer a sooner appointment when it became available. 10/10, highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Have been coming with Croc Doc for years and my girls love it here! The staff is welcoming, assertive, and kind. The Drs. are very knowledgeable and take the time to answer your questions or concerns.

Negative experience: If I could give this place a half of star I would. Military or federal civilian employees do not bring your kids here. They make you pay out of pocket and tell you that they will bill your insurance and you will have a credit for your account. Well upon calling several times (no one has returned my call) asking about the insurance verification it’s been 6 months and guess what I’m here today for both my kid’s appointment and guess what no insurance verification for the second health insurance and you guessed it they are asking for more money. No my kids will not be returning here.

Fantastic experience: We love this place! My little boy is always so happy to go see his dentists and always so happy when he leaves. Great customer service! They are Always so polite and kind to my children.

Negative experience: Edit: paid with sunbit credit and they charged me $375.... then I call to get an invoice and it's for $275. Why the change? Seems deceitful to me. Love that I was able to be a new patient and get treatment done the same day for my daughter. Very nice layout and I got to be with my daughter the whole time during treatment. I didn't like the fact that they push the laughing gas a lot, it was her first time for a filling and I declined. She did great without it so I felt they asume all the kids go nuts which is clearly not the case. Doctor is super nice and answered all my questions. The girls were all very chatty in the front and playful but got the work done. Professionsally I don't think they should be eating while working.

Negative experience: I'm not one of the people to do this but today I had an appointment with my daughter and she's autistic. I went to the place to have her teeth cleaned. Apart from that, there's a tooth that's growing on top of the other one. The doctor checked her out, the girl who gave her He did the x-rays very professional when the assistant didfrom the doctor she is like brown hair she had zero empathy with my daughter she was the one who had to give her dental cleaning when I saw that my daughter is autistic I felt as if my daughter had a disease or something that was going to happen to her. she did not want to work with my daughter.

Fantastic experience: PLEASE READ THIS!!! I did so much research before choosing The Croc Doc. I have a fear of dentists from trauma as a kid. My son had a traumatizing experience before Croc Doc so finding somewhere safe for him was so important. The Croc Doc exceeded our expectations in EVERY way and I cannot say THANK YOU enough. The entire staff is so polite and welcoming. Everyone genuinely looks happy to work that. It is very clean and very colorful and kid friendly. There are tvs mounted throughout and even in the rooms. The nurses and techs are phenomenal. Mil gracias Eva por todo she was so reassuring for both my son and myself. She made this experience truly painless. I will NEVER take my son any where else. If you get anything from this review just know that The Croc Doc is the best at what they do and they treat your entire family with the best care start to finish. Other positives: the wait time is low. All instructions are very clear and explained easily English and Spanish. Medications are offered in different flavors. Kids get popsicles, stickers, and a lollipop after procedures. The laughing gas is scented! The billing is easy and relatively painless. The doctors are efficient and try to get as much work done as possible so you don't need multiple trips.

Negative experience: My son had work done and it was a horrible experience. The anesthesiologist was super rude while my son was choking shoving him to wake up, he's 7. Then I find out they didn't even do the coating over my sons teeth. When we finally get him to the car 3 of his teeth that were NOT loose AT ALL just fall out of his mouth. When we finally park at home my son begins throwing up blood, at least a cups worth. Now those teeth that were not ready to come out and weren't supposed to because it wasn't time have come in very crooked since they weren't ready. Dr. Amir is terrible. Then when my son went in for one of his cleanings months later, the new doctor seeing him, some lady was awful. She immediately without asking me, started telling the tech to schedule all this work on my son to straighten his teeth. I just looked at her and said uh no, he was traumatized enough from the the last procedure. She then asks me if it was in house or done at the hospital. I said in house and she tells me well that's why you do it in the hospital. Are you freaking serious! I'm so sorry we couldn't afford the $16,000 the hospital wanted to charge. Our insurance wouldn't cover the hospital part at all. Please find another place for your kids. If you care about them don't bring them here. Dr Parco was great, this place either needs him back or new dentist. Did anyone else have their kids teeth fall out right after the procedure? It's insane.

Fantastic experience: (Review name is my husband) Today, I went to Croc Doc for the first time. I was already nervous because I scheduled all THREE of my crazy children at the same time. It was a hassle, and I wanted to cry. But the amazing team jumped in, and helped carry and distract one of my children as I had one already in my arms. Not only that but stayed with me to help keep up with my kiddos as I needed to finish paperwork. They made me feel confident and not ashamed for not having it together with all of my kids. Negative experience: Dr Amir is very rude and unprofessional will never recommend this dentist to any of my family and friends.Dr Amir only cares about how much he can charge the insurances. Dr. Amir aims to go to the extreme when it comes to his practice when I knew there were several other options available. Staff was great never had issues. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL

Negative experience: Dr. Amir was very rude and only cares about billing the insurance company and going to the extreme not giving us options on what else could be done. My child is not at the age where they can just do a X-ray. He stated the day of the treatment he was going to all that needed to be done to my child without my consent. I’m the parent and I should know what’s getting done. He didn’t want to explain to what was going to be done to my child because as he stated he didn’t have the time. When I asked if I could be notified of anything done to my child his response was what background we had in dentistry. When I told him he was just after the insurance and what he could get done that would be paid for by the insurance he go very defensive and stated that we should cancel the treatment. If you want to find a great dentist I would 5 star recommend star kids pediatrics. Staff was very nice and helpful. Dr Amir was very unprofessional

Fantastic experience: This dental clinic is really good. I was really nervous taking my daughter here because of her disability, but they made her feel really comfortable which is really hard to do. This put me at ease and although it is out of my way, this will be the clinic I go to for her. The staff is very helpful with Insurance information and very friendly. They are very patient and understanding as well. I didn't feel like I was being judged about my daughter's conditions at all. This is the place for kids with disabilities. Autism/non-verbal child with several sensitivities (light, touch, and noise)

Negative experience: Terrible place. They tell you your kid needs treatment but they have to wait until they can get someone to give the treatment. What's the point if supposedly being a surgery place also if you don't perform them? The dentist, Dr. Amir, makes you feel like you are a burden. Never going back to take my kid. Let me tell you this place is the worst. Do not bring in your children with special needs.

Negative experience: Yesterday my son was treated bad, by the woman who was doing the cleaning of his teeth. It was my son’s first time seating by himself and did a great job. By the end, he said he didn’t wanted more water and this woman was giving a bad attitude and didn’t have no patience with my son. She was making faces, and didn’t had the patience to finish in a good manner. Today, he was going to get his cavities filled, and my son didn’t drink the “juice” they gave him and now they were making comments to him that he didn’t behave and other comments that were not needed (like, “he needed to act more mature.”) They even said that the woman that did his cleaning yesterday put a note in the system saying that he misbehaved during the visit. It is not true, whatsoever. He behaved during the whole visit, didn’t cry or made a tantrum. Only because at the end he moved a little and said he didn’t wanted more water. He is only 4 YEARS OLD, not 13 years. IF YOU DON’T HAVE PATIENCE, DON’T WORK WITH KIDS!!!

Fantastic experience: It was a quick visit but they showed a lot of patience for my child. He is autistic and sometimes it's challenging to get him to cooperate with procedures. Very friendly. We will be coming again.

Fantastic experience: They made the visit smooth, easy, and as quick as possible for my 3 kids. Absolutely recommend. Their little goodie bags especially for the toddlers are amazing. Toddler bag came with 3 different toothbrushes for them to basically grow with and full size training toothpaste.

Fantastic experience: We are from out of town and our daughter had to have an emergency tooth removal. They got us in and did all the work in just a few hours. They are nice, professional and I felt very comfortable with everyone there. They gave me a list of everything that should be done but when I asked what needed to be done today so we could get her home they were very up front and honest. If we lived in El Paso, I would absolutely continue to take my kids here. We are all very grateful for them.

Fantastic experience: The staff and Doctor! Are absolutely wonderful! They made me feel comfortable and answered every question I had definitively recommend for your child! Thank you wonderful staff and doctor! You guys are amazing! My son loves it there he can’t wait to go again.

Negative experience: My son was sent here as a referral took almost 2 hours for dentist to see us. This is my sons 2nd time here he’s 5 years old. The dentist was so busy that he was rushing and running through patients and he saw my son for less than 3 min to say he has 6 cavities when we were sent there by our primary dentist with 3 fills in total. Then on top of that they didn’t have availability till 2 months from my initial exam. The waiting room was dirty looks like hasn’t been cleaned in awhile chairs were different colors but almost black . I asked my primary dentist for a new referral this was disgusting and the dentist just didn’t care. I’m there because my son is terrified already and when we left from there just not happy at all. I do not recommend this place at all.

Fantastic experience: I was referred here by a different dentist and I have to say I love it. They're so patient and kind and they explain everything. Wait was minimal and the office was clean. My son seemed so comfortable and happy, I would reccomend this dentist to anyone with children who are apprehensive about dentists. My 4 year old son is scared of the dentist, but I really think that they made him feel comfortable and actually happy to be there.

Fantastic experience: My 4 year old had to have a filling with sedation today. The staff was so friendly and patient. This is our second visit here and he told me this morning “I love everything at the crocodile dentist”. I am extremely pleased and impressed with the whole experience.

Fantastic experience: My daughter was only 17 months and going to her 1st visit. Everyone was extremely sweet and stopped to say hi to her. The dentist was super quick but thorough. I have 6 girls so I've been to an appt or 2. Already set appts for my other 4 8 year old just had a crown put on today. They allow parents to sit in exam room while the doctor works. The exam rooms have movies playing and they put alot of effort in taking care of their patients. The doctor is very quick and gentle, highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: The staff is extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and caring. I have been bringing my son here for 3 years now and will not be changing. Easy and close parking. Very clean office. My son loves his goodie bag at the end of the visit as well!

Fantastic experience: My little girl was taking out a tooth today. Thank you for a great Treatment from the Doctor and Moranda. They took their time so that my daughter would not be in any pain and did everything to make sure she was comfortable.

Fantastic experience: My kids were one of Dr. Parcos first patients in El Paso. The office staff, dental staff and Doctors are amazing. My kids love going to their appointments because they don’t have that great fear. Best place to take your kiddos

Negative experience: The staff are friendly, never had a problem with appointments but what made me decide to go elsewhere is when I asked a question to Dr. Amir for clarification. Dr. Amir and his assistant made me very uncomfortable and the look Dr. Amir gave me before responding made me regret asking at all which I should not feel when looking out for my child. My daughter had been seeing him close to 2 years at this point, Dr. Amor was always present. It is a Doctor's responsibility to educate the public regardless of their opinion of the question asked. His nonverbal reaction and behavior was upsetting and it was because I asked a question as a parent should. Also, the staff keeps billing the wrong insurance because they will not remove the old one from the account, keep seeing corrected claims and refund checks as a result.

Fantastic experience: Love bringing my kiddos here. ❤️ We are always treated amazing. Dentist is always great, dental assistants here are also great! They are friendly and fun. Have no complaints! Except for the front desk receptionist, can use a little practice on her customer service always bump heads with her because she does not pay attention.

Fantastic experience: We always have such a great experience here. We hardly ever have to wait (and when we do it's not long at all), the staff here is all very friendly and helpful. The doctor and staff are very patient when our daughter fusses, and do a great job with her check ups. We are so glad we found the place and will definitely continue coming here.

Fantastic experience: A fear of dentistry usually starts at a young age; this is why I’m so glad I found this office! Everyone from the front staff to assistants and the dentist is hands down excellent. They treat my child with such care and understanding. The dentist tells my child what he will do before he does it if your looking for a pediatric dentist look no further as this is the place to go!

Fantastic experience: I love this place, my daughter is very shy and she was scared her first time here. Her emotions ran very high but the doctor and the staff were so understanding and patient. Fantastic experience: All personnel are friendly and professional. Both my 13 and 10 years old kids feel confortable at the dentist office. The receptionists, the Xray and the cleaning tech’s were all patient and kind.

Fantastic experience: Croc Doc has an amazing staff, everyone is very professional and nice. The dentist took his time and explain the procedure that my daughter needed. He gave me enough time to ask questions and he made sure all my questions were answer.

Negative experience: I was cheduled for an 8 am appointment for my two children. They did not take me in until 8 45. I literally saw 10 children come in and out of the office. I thought it was odd but didn't want to make a big deal out of it. Keep in mind my children are 5 and 3 and one has autism. He was getting fidgety and was flustered by the time they finally cleaned his teeth. To top it off all the dentist did was brush their teeth for 1 minute . If that was the case I could have brushed their teeth myself. Later, I come to find out that my appointment was scheduled at 8 40 . Further, the automated text I received said 8 am. Just a terrible experience all around
