Fantastic experience: It's nice to go to a dental office again in which I have confidence in the knowledge, skill, and expertise of everyone. I needed to replace an overlay with a crown and restore a very old filling. Dr. Weber and Makenna had me in and out of the chair in a little over an hour! They got my bite right without having to be asked to adjust it.

They are very transparent when it comes to pricing & it seems their top priority is always comfort of the patient . Cayla is a caring and gentle hygienist! Both Dr.Otieno and Cayla are very personable, too! I am extremely comfortable going forward, and look forward to my next visit soon!

Fantastic experience: I cracked my tooth on Friday and Northstar was able to fix it on Monday morning. After the fix it is better than before the crack bc I use to have a food trap and now the space is tighter :) Also the employees were all friendly, professional, and efficient. Thank you.

This Dental office is thorough, clean, they offer all the amenities, blankets, neck, pillows, a TV or headphones, they do not miss a beat. The best part of the Dental practice are the people, you will not find any better, dental, hygienists or dentists anywhere. They are well educated, thorough, they take the time to explain each step of the process, they ensure that any anxiety is calmed before starting work. I was with another dental practice for over 20 years and I question why didn’t I change to this practice sooner. Fantastic experience: Dr. Weber and MaKenna are absolutely amazing! MaKenna is so amazing. She has gone above and beyond for me and my kids. She has the best bedside manner. I can’t tell you enough how thankful I am for Dr. Weber and MaKenna! The entire staff is amazing there but MaKenna really make this place shine!! I don’t want to go anywhere else but there! Dr. Weber is absolutely amazing with the Botox for my TMJ. She has provided me such relief! Thank you!

Fantastic experience: Everyone was so patient, gentle and kind. The hygienist and dentist both took time answering all of my questions and explaining every step of what they were doing. This place is amazing! Definitely highly recommend for anyone who is afraid of the dentist or who has had a bad experience before at other dentist's offices.

Negative experience: This was the worst experience I’ve ever had. I was the only patient there from the moment I arrived until I left. The dentist was unprofessional and didn’t conduct the exam properly — instead of methodically examining each area around my teeth, they randomly punctured my gums. Every other dentist I’ve seen has been much more thorough and precise. The worst part is that they claimed to be in-network with my insurance, but they actually weren’t.

Fantastic experience: I love, love, love Northstar Dental. The atmosphere is calm, the office super clean, staff extremely friendly. My services have always been explained, before the service is performed. They put you at ease as soon as you come through the door. I highly recommend this location for your dental needs. Whether you’re in Lewis Center, Powell, Delaware or all point surrounding, you won’t be disappointed.

Negative experience: I was referred to this dentist by my sleep doctor for a mouth guard. I had initially called to make an appointment. I asked their receptionist if they accept Medicare, but was told must first fill out their forms and stop in for the Dentist evaluation. They required me to fill out several medical forms ahead of time. I felt misled since when speaking to the dentist, she said they do not accept Medicare. Said the mouth guard would cost me over $3,000. So I left their office. It was a total waste of my time.

Fantastic experience: Northstar squeezed me in when I had an emergent permanent retainer breakage! I hadn’t even had my first cleaning yet and hurried over there, and they were so welcoming and patient with me! They made me feel like they cared about my problem and my level of comfort. Highly recommend!!

Negative experience: Went to get a crown put back in (not their fault) after waiting 20 minutes I was brought back and while there the assistant while doing her job literally jabbed me with the suction so badly my lip bled. Although accidents happen, it was not a good introduction to the practice.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Otieno took her time to thoroughly consult my needs — an added bonus was a little bit of filler to plump my lips before my upcoming wedding. HIGHLY recommend this office, especially Dr. O for your dental care!

Fantastic experience: I have been a patient for over 10 years. Today I needed some childhood fillings replaced and I was very nervous . Dr. Wilson and Sam were amazing. They put me right at ease. Once again I am beyond pleased with Northstar Family Dental !

Positive experience: Everyone I interacted with was pleasant and friendly. When I called to make an initial appointment they had options for as early as that day and several choices over the next couple of weeks for my kids and me. When I went back for my routine cleaning, I was told I had to do a comprehensive x-rays. I was also told originally by the hygienist that she wasn’t sure if my insurance would cover it or not, that it depended on if I had them done in the last 3-5 years and that it was typically $118 if it had been done in that time. When I said I hadn’t been aware I’d have to do something to pay out of pocket for a routine cleaning and asked if I should call my insurance to see when the x rays had been done before, she told me I would be able to find out more than she could, but then she promptly told me the date I had the x rays done as well as the fact that this dentist won’t accept them because they are 2 years old and so I’d still need to have them done. She also was able to tell me the exact amount. I felt like I had already scheduled the appointment so I should pay. The cleaning and exam were fine and there are several options for comfort if needed. Everyone is personable. However when I went to schedule for 6 months out, I was told they are booking out 8 months. They made sure to tell me about the referral program at the beginning and the gift cards they give patients for referring which is great if you can get patients in within the timeframe recommended. In addition, it feels misleading that they could get me in right away for my initial appointment (and my kids as well with several options) but can’t do the next cleaning for 8 months. I think perhaps they could consider not taking referrals if they are booked out that far and could also consider informing patients in advance if they require additional procedures that insurance won’t cover on an initial appointment.

Fantastic experience: 5 star service. I called pretty much every dentist who has “walk in, emergency & same day appointments” & not one of them was able to see me or get me in today. Northstar got me in same day, had great service, & assisted my issue as a first time patient. I will be returning.

Negative experience: They never explained I would be charged for annual cleaning, as this had been part of my initial request upon establishing care. I let them know wanted to always be aware of any charges before service to enable me compare and choose what I want. The front desk did not even bother to schedule my next appointment, was rather focused on arguing. I guess the search continues for an honest dental office!

Fantastic experience: I came here for a one-time cosmetic treatment (Icon), and they were able to schedule my consultation and treatment during the short time that I was in town. This dentist office was the fanciest one I’ve ever been to (they offer TVs in every room, blankets, water, coffee, and cookies), they were super accommodating, and the treatment was more effective than expected. Fantastic experience: First visit. Immediately started with a tour. Made to feel like a VIP right when I stepped through the door. Was awkward for me at first because it was unexpected. The space was very inviting. I felt like I was being interviewed as a new patient. Which was fine with me. I want to be with a dentist that is glad to have me as a patient as I am glad to have them as my dentist. First impression was ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Fantastic experience: Every time I go I get treated like family and a friend. I got in at my appointed time, even though they were very busy. The hygienist was efficient and gentle during the cleaning. Her recommendation of cinnamon tooth polish followed by caramel fluoride application was spot on. I left with my mouth feeling like I just had a Cinnabon. The dentist was thorough and caring and I enjoyed our brief conversation about the condition of my dental status. I don't have any anxiety at all when I visit them. I know I am in good hands.

Negative experience: UPDATE: Clinical team is amazing. I originally gave a 5 star review to them. However after reviewing my EOB, I became aware that I was charged for services my insurance covered. The person I spoke with was very condescending and dismissive. My insurance had to call twice in order to get my money fully refunded to me. I am very disappointed as I enjoyed my experience outside of this. ———————————————————————————— I had one of the best experiences here, everyone was so kind! Fantastic experience: I've been here twice. Excellent, efficient clinic. Did thorough cleaning, made recommendations for hygiene, provided a nice swag bag for their veterans event. First rate overall.

Positive experience: The dental care and team are good, if you can get in. After my recent cleaning/examination on 8/14/2024, I was told the earliest they had available follow up appointments was in April/May 2025. As this has become a recurrent issue with my follow ups being scheduled substantially more than 6 months out, it may be time to pursue other options.
