Fantastic experience: I always have an amazing experience.I'm never anxious like I was with other dentists. The staff is very friendly and they have the most comfortable chairs I've ever seen in a waiting area. They have changed my mind about the whole dental process.

Negative experience: Distracted, Rushed, and Unprofessional I never leave reviews but I am honestly so shocked by all the positive reviews I need to share my experience. I got fillings in January for some cavities that weren't hurting but I wanted to fix before they started causing me pain. The dentist was interrupted multiple times by someone telling her her next appointment was already here. She acted distracted and needed to fix on of the filling that she had not done correctly near the end of the appointment. I have never had fillings hurt this much. I got one of them filed when I got a different filling the next month but again the dentist I saw kept rushing me and it wasn't filed enough. They never stopped hurting so I finally scheduled a last appointment to see why they hurt so much. You would have thought someone was chasing this dentist the way she kept trying to run out of the room. There was barely an exam done, nothing was explained, only one of my fillings was really looked at despite 3 of them hurting and weeks later they unsurprisingly all hurt still. I will not be back if I can help it considering I've just spent hundreds of dollars to be more pain than I was at the start. I don't trust them with my teeth and I don't recommend you do either.

Negative experience: It’s been awhile since I was here, but I feel compelled to leave this review as I realized Clear Lakes left a negative lasting impact on how I feel about the dentist now. I have such a long story about my experience(S) here, but to try to make it a long story short, I would NOT recommend Clear Lakes Dental (East Side) to anyone. They have so many clients coming in and out that it highly effects the quality of work that gets done. I’ve been going to the dentist (somewhere else) regularly for 27 years, and it was only after my visits at this location where I have developed horrible dental anxiety. Now, every time I go see the dentist, I get triggered and get so nervous things are gonna go wrong and that I’m going to get dismissed and hurt again. I don’t want to go in to certain specific details, but the absolute last time that just did it for me, was my filling appointment. I left with a migraine, and was throwing up that night from horrible nausea and anxiety from the whole procedure. I also needed to go back to get the filling fixed as it was way too high. I addressed my concerns and feelings about the appointment when I went to get my filling fixed, but I felt brushed off. I was told that “I was probably just having anxiety due to being numbed a second time”. I didn’t feel they sympathized with how I felt or cared for my overall experience during that appointment, which is horrible considering they started drilling down on my cavity before assuring I was fully numb (even after I expressed I didnt feel fully numb). I wasn’t met with any reassuring words on how the next appointment(s) will be better. I wish they took accountability for how they made me feel as well, but unfortunately they didn’t which I do not appreciate. The way some of the staff talks to each other in front of patients was inappropriate and odd as well. Although everyone was generally nice, the professionalism and overall care wasn’t up to par, so I would not come back or recommend this place.

Fantastic experience: I called for a cleaning and explained that I had a soft spot on my tooth that was very sensitive and painful and they got me in within two weeks, the assistance were amazing and nice and considerate, the dentist also was as well as he did an amazing job filling in the top part of my tooth that chipped, he was nice white filling, and I was only there for maybe 45 minutes tops they were kind, considerate, and honestly did a really good job . Which is important for your teeth you know more so than any doctors appointment so I took the time to give the rating

Fantastic experience: My daughter and I both go here and we always have a positive experience. She has good teeth, but my parents neglected my teeth as a child so my teeth are in rough shape. All the staff from check in, dental assitant, hygienist and the dentist are all so incredibly nice, welcoming, kind and non judgmental. Everyone works as a team.

I would highly recommend this office to my friends and family anytime they are in need of a dentist as they explain everything clearly that they see and they are ready to get you set for your next appointment at your convenience. They are not pushy they are just straight forward and tell you what they see and what they think needs to be done. I am so very glad that they were recommended to me and now I am doing the same. The environment was clean and comfortable, they even had a screen with various fish swimming in a reef and open ocean, very calming. I had previously had a bad experience at a different dental group, and this was the complete opposite!! I would highly recommend the White Bear Ave location!!

Fantastic experience: I absolutely hated my last dentist! So going to the dentist is not the easiest for me but Clear Lakes Dental has really made my experience with dental work easier. Things such as numbing shots being less painful and not being yelled to open my mouth but asked kindly because they understand I’m probably getting tired. Nothing but good things to say!

I got stuck in traffic and was 3 minutes late and they wouldn’t clean my teeth or do what they’re being paid to do. I would never recommend this place to anyone . If I could leave a 0 star review I would, but this place is absolutely god awful

Negative experience: I got weird vibes when I went in. When I went in, every worker (15+) other than the lead dentist is SE Asian female. There is no mission statement I could find that explains why the hiring practices are that way. The pictures I found online also reaffirmed what I saw as far as worker composition. The lead person acted skittish and went the other way when I looked at him. The cleaning felt rushed as well compared to care I've gotten at other places. I won't be coming back.

My first visit here was fantastic, the staff was extremely respectful and kind, which surprised me as I assumed it would be a "lower quality" dentistry (a poor bias on my part, it's hard to find a place that takes state insurance that has a nice feel to it). Negative experience: Dentist did not make notify me ahead of time that the clinic does not offer Nitris (laughing gas) pain relief so if you have a child who experiences pain do NOt have your child seen here. Not only that if you even try to have your child’s records sent to another clinic, you will be in an never ending conversation between the receptionist of this clinic and the clinic where you want to be transferred to. this dentist will give you a blue card, referral and pretend like that’s all you need to get your child’s records transferred and that is not the case this clinic actually does need to fill out paperwork to get your records transferred.

Negative experience: Was seen here last year for a chip in my tooth and only now am I getting around to reviewing this office as I've switched dental offices and had a FAR better experience at my new dentist over this one. Was told the tooth that had a chip needed to be extracted and scheduled an appointment for a few weeks out to have the procedure done. Went in for the procedure, which I was told should be a simple extension and I'll be in and out. The dentist preforming the extraction must have been new or in some sort of training. He was very kind to me, but could not get the root of my tooth out. I was in that chair for nearly an hour while he picked at the same spot trying to work the root out. After far too long he finally admitted he couldn't get it done and called a second dentist in to finish the job. The second dentist got the tooth out within minutes! Meaning I did not need to be put through all the extra time, pain, and discomfort I was put through. The dentist admitted that this turned into more of an oral surgery, and that they likely should have put my under for the procedure. They also prescribed me real pain meds and said I'd need to take the next day off work. All things that were not discussed during pre-op appointment. They also were suppose to supply me with a false tooth, which they took X-rays and mold for, but when they tried to fit it, the dentist admitted the mold was made poorly and doesn't fit. That they would have to have it remade. I did not return to pick it up as the entire situation was extremely unpleasant and I truthfully have trauma from the experience. My mother came with me for the appointment and also agreed she should have stopped them and asked for a better solution midway through the extraction. It took nearly 3 months for me to feel somewhat normal again after this procedure. Very displeased.

Negative experience: They gave my appointment up that I had scheduled MONTHS in advance because they said I didn’t text them to confirm my appointment (mind you they sent out a confirmation text on a holiday). Why would I need to confirm an appointment that was already made??? And how did another person be able to so quickly take my spot that I had to wait so long for? I hate this place.

Fantastic experience: I want to thank Clear Lake Dental - East St Paul for being able to work me in to their schedule since I was a walk in. I waited about an hour before being seen which I consider not bad at all. I went in to get my front tooth fix since it was badly chip and my tooth started getting sensitive. The doc did a great job filling in the tooth to make it look like the tooth never got chipped. All staff were very nice and understanding and not judgmental which I appreciate.

Fantastic experience: Went there yesterday, service was great from the moment I walked in, to the moment I left. I was greeted with respect and my questions were all answered. I arrived earlier since the text I received said to arrive 15 minutes, which is normal. All places ask that you arrive 15 minutes before your appointment. I got called in earlier which was nice. They were awesome, the dentist was great. She was sensitive with my aching tooth and answered all my questions. This is my new place. I have another appointment today, so I will update my review if needed. Update, I had a different dentist today and he was great too.This is a great place to go to.

Fantastic experience: My wife and I have been using this practice for awhile now, a couple years. This new location allows them to service a greater number of patients more effectively. She and I both got a filling today. I can't pretend getting a filling is a good time, but the dentist made it as easy as can be possibly expected. Service at this practice is good and they do a great job reminding you about appointments ahead of time. I'm willing to give five stars because if they weren't a five-star practice, I'd have found somewhere else to go a long time ago - anything medical, dental included, is worth discretion.

Will need to let them know to not chat with me when I am turned around. There isn't a button for walker accessibility. Lobby can be cold. Dress warm. Bring own pillows if can't lay flat. Chair doesn't adjust to petite people well.

Negative experience: I had a very upsetting experience today at Clear Lakes Dental – East St. Paul. My mom had an appointment, and we arrived just three minutes late because of road construction. The front desk worker, Kass, told us we couldn’t be seen and spoke to me in a rude, disrespectful way: “Next time you should come on time if you want your appointment.” I asked about an interpreter, and she said it had to be requested two weeks in advance. I offered to interpret for my mom, but she still refused to help us. I asked to reschedule, and she gave me a date more than a month away—until I spoke with the manager, who found an earlier date within seconds. We’ve visited this clinic many times and often waited 20–30 minutes past our appointment times. But when we were just a few minutes late, they showed no flexibility or kindness. The attitude and treatment were unprofessional and cold. I wouldn’t recommend this clinic to anyone who wants to be treated with respect.

Fantastic experience: I had multiple fillings done, a cleaning and I'm in the process of getting more work done. I personally love this place. They're kind, gentle and caring. There's never a wait. Plus, there always seems to be flexible availability with accommodating prices out of pocket. Clear Lakes also accepts most insurances!!! Definitely recommend this place. They have multiple locations.

Fantastic experience: I am a new patient to CLD. Unfortunately, my first visit to this clinic was a consultation for pain in my previously treated RCT (different clinic) and I am also pregnant in my third trimester. It was important to me to get in right away as I am immunocompromised right now. CLD was able to get me in for a consultation right away, which I appreciated so much. My first visit was great! The dental assistant walked me through everything and even asked if I wanted to defer panorama imaging. Of course I deferred it because I am pregnant and that staff was very understanding. The dentist who examined me was Dr. Kyaw. She was awesome. I was impressed right away and felt comfortable in her care. She referred me out to endodontist for second opinion on my tooth. The referral was to a clinic that did not take my insurance but I called back to let CLD know that and they got the referral over right away. It was speedy and greatly appreciated as specialty clinics book out so far. In the end, it was recommended to do an extraction of that tooth. Dr. Kyaw did a good job to ensure I was comfortable and answered all my questions. Of course only being in my 30s and losing my natural tooth in itself is already an emotional journey for me. But I felt Dr. Kyaw really nailed it in the head for me. She is so sweet. I will be returning for my dental care. Thank you, CLD. What an experience: the timing and speediness, the staff, and administration part was incredible.

Positive experience: Great dentist with rigid and unusual appointment policies that I’ve never encountered elsewhere. They book a month out, but your appointment gets automatically cancelled if you don’t confirm within 24 hours of receiving their 1 reminder text. I knew this but I can’t be glued to my phone and it finally got me. I need to be seen and can’t keep up with this, so I’m going somewhere else. Again, these are great providers, but the patient has extra responsibility regarding appointments. It’ll cost you if any type of circumstance comes up. Those who are super attentive to their inbox and have a flexible schedule will have a great experience.

Negative experience: I am an established patient who came in for an appointment today for a consult for an infected tooth and two broken teeth. I had a family issue that made me 3 min late walking in. There were no changes to my info and my paperwork was done within 2 min. After processing it, I was told I couldn’t be seen since I was late and they had to update my paperwork, even though I had no changes. I pointed out at that point it was only 5 min altogether, and the receptionist said there’s nothing she can do. It’s up to the providers and they won’t accept it. If that is the case, your policy should clearly state if you are not here before your appointment time you will not be seen. Not that you MAY not. It seems there is no gray area. Meanwhile, the person in the waiting room came up and asked for an update as to her appt as she’d been waiting over a half hour. I have personally waited for appointments for over 15 minutes. So, you can run 15 min to a half hour or more late, but a patient can’t be 3 min late and they are automatically cancelled? This makes no sense. This does not meet your standard text response to other reviews about canceling for running efficiency and staying on time. My own apt was at 9 am. The tooth that has the infection has been infected over 2 years. I’ve been made to put other work (cleanings, fillings, etc ) in front of getting it extracted. That’s meant numerous rounds of antibiotics from my primary dr to help manage it. In an age of antibiotic resistance from overuse, how is this a good standard of care or practice? I have severe, severe dental anxiety and this offices practices have done more to worsen that and consequently, deteriorate my dental situation, than help it. I’ve had a couple very kind, compassionate dental assistants over my time there that are the only reason I’ve tolerated it at all. Sadly, as a person on medical assistance, there are few choices in terms of dental care options so I’ve felt stuck with your office. However, your policies are not patient centered and do not consider the needs of patients like myself with severe dental anxiety, or the long term effects on a patient of ongoing antibiotic treatment for failure to remove an infected tooth because of forcing other non urgent care first. It takes an enormous amount to just call to make an appt and to get in the door. To actually make it here and be turned away for something out of your control when you are 3 min late and nothing in your account needs updating, and you’re coming in due to a dental emergency is NOT patient centered care. Moreover, while policies are important, so is considering the needs of individual patients and the impact said policies have on certain patient populations.

Negative experience: 5 minutes late to the place because my wife's chemo ran long. They take my I'd and insurance cards, have me sign their forms and THEN after they have my signature tell me I can't be seen because of the 5 mins. Place is a total fraud and the waiting room looks like the homeless shelter no wonder they have 5 places on paperwork saying you can't sue them for the miriad of germs that hit you right when you walk in door. I WILL be reporting them to my insurance the health department and the MN Atty General. Shame on you money grubbing vultures! Spare yourself the agony don't even try the place. I tried to take pictures of germ central but figured they call the cops for me taking a picture, another 3 line disclaimer on their form about pics/video
