Fantastic experience: July/2025 We had an amazing experience at Little Teeth Big Smiles! My son (Yusuf) is special needs and has had a hard time with other dental offices—some even refused to treat him because he cried too much. But this place was completely different. From the moment we walked in, the staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. The dentist and nurses were so patient and understanding, taking their time and never rushing us. and it truly shows in the way they care. It meant so much to finally find a place where my son was treated with compassion and respect. Fantastic experience: This is a place that will give you and your kiddo peace of mind. Not only for the dental work and care provided, but they are great with kids. Jessica took great care of my son and had such an enthusiastic personality that I was surprised at how good my kiddo did. And I know it was a result of such good practice! Negative experience: We’ve been happily using this dentist for 2 years. Today my wife needed to take our 4 year old with her to the dentist as I was out of town. They refused to let my wife take our 4 yo to the exam with her so she had to send our 2 year old back by herself which, to put it lightly, did not go well with our 2 yo. Their reasoning was that the 4 yo might be a distraction and make the exam more challenging… but evidently a screaming, panicking 2 year old is a better answer? My wife was so upset she called me crying. The entire thing is bananas. We definitely won’t be going back, and if you have two young kids this place is more like little teeth big screams.

The safety and comfort of all our patients—as well as their siblings and our team—are of the utmost importance to us. Due to the limited space in our treatment rooms and to ensure a calm and secure environment, we have a policy that only the scheduled patient & one parent are allowed in the room during the visit. This is especially important when treating young children, as added distractions can impact both the quality of care and the overall safety of everyone in the room.
We often encourage brief separation during visits, as it can help build independence and confidence in the dental setting. That said, we completely understand that not every child or parent is comfortable with this approach. In those cases, parents are always welcome to reschedule for a time that may work better for their family’s needs.
This policy is outlined in the paperwork completed before the first visit, and it’s also included in appointment reminders sent via text prior to the visit so families can prepare accordingly.

Fantastic experience: I read many reviews before making my choice. I’m so happy I chose Little teeth big smiles. They handled my ASD toddler with care. She is strong and active and they had the right method to accommodate her and get her 1st dentist visit done quick and efficient with all the accommodations needed. Update: 3rd dentist appointment and Jessica was amazing and already prepare for Tess with the things my daughter needed to keep her calm in the room from the atmosphere to her favorite Tv show she walked in smiling and did not cry not one time. she has to be strapped down but she did it happily. I couldn’t have picked a better dentist. Update: My daughter had an abscess and I called dentist I was told to come in same day. My daughter was treated with little to no crying the team and staff are always so gentle and caring with my ASD daughter make her and myself at ease. Successfully removed abscess and tooth. My daughter is her happy self again.

Fantastic experience: Both of my children attend Little Teeth Big Smiles with my oldest (16year old) who had been attending since he was 3 years old. My daughter who is 3 years of age was just seen on 7/28 needing to filings on her back teeth. We all know most kids do not like the dentist, however Jessica who was our dental assistant made Aria feel comfortable and safe with no worries. Fantastic experience: I have been taking my daughter to Little Teeth Big Smile for years now. She loves them ! They specialize in kids. It’s wonderful and the service is great. Miranda is one of the dental assistant’s and she’s wonderful!! My daughter was having some issues with her gums and was scared when she went in for her cleaning . Miranda spoke with her and explained everything to her with ease and took her time doing so. She’s wonderful with kids and also with explaining everything to the parents. I recommend them 100%!! Negative experience: It’s extremely misleading for this clinic to claim they “cater to children with special needs” when the truth is they only cater to some. If your child is more able-bodied, able to communicate, or has mild-to-moderate autism or Down syndrome, you might be accepted. But if your child has more complex conditions like being wheelchair-bound, having cerebral palsy, epilepsy, or more intensive developmental or sensory needs this place is likely to refuse or reject them outright. The lack of understanding, training, and flexibility for kids with deeper medical or neurological challenges is disappointing. Children with intensive needs deserve compassionate care too, not subtle discrimination masked behind vague language. If you are a parent of a child with significant special needs, be warned: this clinic does not serve all special needs children. They should be more honest and transparent in their advertising, instead of giving false hope to families who are already dealing with enough.

I was surprised and saddened to read your review, as it does not reflect who we are or the care we provide on a daily basis. First, to clarify: we are a private pediatric dental practice, not a clinic.
You mentioned that we only serve children with “mild-to-moderate” disabilities and reject those with more complex conditions. That is simply not true. I became a pediatric dentist because of my older brother, who had spastic cerebral palsy and required 24-hour care. He was unable to walk, talk, or feed himself — and he inspired my life’s work. If he were still with us today, I know he would want to understand what led you to write such a review.
Our associates are Board Certified Pediatric Dentists, each with specialized training in treating children with a wide range of medical, neurological, and developmental conditions. I personally completed a residency in pediatric dentistry and two fellowships sponsored by the United Cerebral Palsy Research and Education Foundation. I’ve also served as faculty at Indiana University and Riley Children’s Hospital, where I trained dental students and residents in caring for patients with special needs.
Many of our staff members also have personal connections to the special needs community and have chosen to work here because of that shared purpose. We are proud of the compassionate care we provide to all our patients — especially those with more complex needs.
Your suggestion that we mislead families or exclude children based on their disabilities is deeply upsetting to my entire team and wholly inaccurate. I am eager to understand your experience, yet we do not have a record of a patient under your name. If you did interact with our office, please reach out to me directly. If not, I invite you to visit and spend a day with us. You’ll see the care, respect, compassion and effort we put into serving all our patients — especially those with significant challenges.
Your review accuses us of discrimination and lack of compassion — two things we work every day to fight against. It’s deeply painful to read such claims when our mission has always been the opposite.
Fantastic experience: This was my 3yo’s second appointment and the experience was just as great as the first! His hygienist Maria was very calming and gentle with him and the appointment went smoothly because of that. I recommend this practice to anyone with little ones! Dental health is SO important. Don’t put it off!
Negative experience: We brought our daughter to Little Teeth Big Smiles for an exam and were surprised when the recommended treatment included three stainless steel crowns, nitrous oxide, and use of a papoose board (a full-body restraint device). We were not clearly informed about the restraint in advance, and the related consent form was bundled into general intake paperwork—something we didn’t notice until after asking specific questions. There was no dedicated conversation about its use or opportunity to meaningfully opt in or out. Our daughter is a calm, cooperative child with no history of behavioral challenges. No alternate options were discussed, and it was unclear whether her cooperation had even been evaluated before restraint was recommended. According to 2024 guidelines from the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, protective stabilization is not recommended for cooperative, non-sedated patients. We later took her to a different pediatric dentist, where she completed the same treatment using nitrous only—no papoose board, no trauma. That experience confirmed for us that restraint was unnecessary in her case. We’re sharing this to help other parents know what questions to ask—especially about consent and restraint. Consent forms should be clear and easy to understand, and significant interventions should be discussed openly. We ultimately chose a provider whose communication and approach felt more aligned with our values and our child’s needs.

Providing compassionate, individualized care—and clear, respectful communication with parents—is central to our practice, and we take feedback like yours seriously.
We want to clarify that protective stabilization is never used at our office without a prior, informed discussion with the child’s guardian and a signed, specific consent. It is not bundled into general intake paperwork, nor used without a parent’s awareness or approval. If that was your impression, we sincerely regret the confusion and will review our processes to ensure that all families clearly understand the documentation and options presented.
In situations where behavioral support may be needed to safely complete treatment, we always discuss options such as nitrous oxide or in-office sedation monitored by a board-certified pediatric anesthesiologist as alternatives to protective stabilization. Each child is evaluated individually—including their behavior, anxiety levels, and clinical needs—before any treatment recommendations are made.
That said, we understand and respect that different families may feel more comfortable with different approaches, and we fully support your decision to seek care that aligned with your values and your daughter’s needs.

Fantastic experience: I was referred to Little Teeth Big smiles by a friend. My daughter was afraid and would cry when she first started coming to the dentist,which is normal for children. My daughter needed some special work done to her teeth. LTBS took care of my my daughter’s teeth and made her feel comfortable. Well in 2021 my daughter had a dentist appointment and thats when things totally change when she met Erick. He was her hygienist for that appointment and when she came out of the exam room she was smiling and ran up to me and said momma: I didn’t cry this time. I was a big girl and she said that Erick was nice and gentle. She said he didn’t hurt me. My daughter’s next visit she remember him and he took care of her again and that appointment went very well. I am pleased with LTBS services and now I bring my son to this office. I would recommend parents to this office, even if their child may have special needs, this office caters to the needs of the children.
Fantastic experience: We have been going to little teeth since my daughter has had teeth, they have always greeted us with a smile and never kept us waiting. I would recommend them to anyone with a child looking for a dentist. Miranda is wonderful very friendly as well explains what they’ve done.
Fantastic experience: Whenever someone asks me where I plan on taking my son for regular dental care, I’m excited to tell them Little Teeth Big Smiles. My son was born at 29 weeks and 3 days and has had gastro issues for a while. We thought it was a sign of his prematurity, but we suspected he had a tongue and/or lip tie. My husband and I were able to get an appointment for a consult very quickly and got the frenectomy soon thereafter. I am cautiously optimistic that we will seen an improvement in his feeding and overall demeanor. I want to thank the absolutely amazing staff at LTBS for listening to our concerns, validating our feelings, and taking great care of our sonshine. I’m excited to make this place my son’s primary dental location when his teeth start coming in! Update: our almost 3 year old returned yesterday for a routine exam and cleaning! Jessica was the dental assistant who took care of our liddle boy and she was amazing! Despite the fact that he screamed the whole time lol, she was very patient and gentle with him! I can’t say enough nice things about this place!

Fantastic experience: We have been going to this practice for at least three years and they have always been wonderful with our children. At our most recent visit on 6/4/25, Maria worked with both of my kids. She was kind, calm, patient, engaging, and made my young children feel super comfortable. She also gave advice on flossing and brushing. Experiences like this one helps my children to look forward to going to the dentist! They already can’t wait for their next cleaning!

Fantastic experience: This place is the best! The waiting room was so kid friendly, you don’t have to worry about keeping your kiddos entertained because they do it for you! It doesn’t stop there, they even played my babies favorite show during her appointment. We had Maria as our dental assistant and Dr. Josh as her dentist. Maria was amazing! She made my baby so comfy and happy during her visit. She also addressed any of our concerns as well as giving detailed explanation as to how the appointment would go. Dr. Josh came in and he was just as kind and focused. They sang the ABCs with/to my baby to ease her nerves when they counted her teeth. I am so pleased with this place and the service received. My baby did not want to go to the dentist at first but now she loves it just after her first visit. We will be returning in December!

Fantastic experience: My son has autism, 10 years old…. This place was amazing… From the time we arrived until the time we left, everyone was so attentive and patient. The receptionist, nurses and dentists were so comforting, this was the first time my son made it through a whole appointment, X-Rays and all! Definitely found our new pediatric dental office.

Fantastic experience: My 17 month old son had a pretty severe dental injury and needed to have two of his teeth extracted. Miranda, our dental assistant was incredible. She made sure he was as comfortable as possible and kept him smiling. (Which isn’t easy when you have to work on an injured baby) Wonderful bedside manner and overall very professional and super friendly! Everyone made me feel very comfortable and much more at ease about his injury and what needed to be done. It was a very clean, efficient, and very friendly office. There was a lot more communication than you typically see between all staff members and it was refreshing to see such communication and teamwork. It is something that makes a huge difference, especially in the medical field, and made me feel like my son was very safe and was getting the best care possible. It is reassuring to see how they all work together and how they interact with patients and parents. It gave me peace of mind. I highly recommend this place. They took the time to explain everything and make sure I understood it all before moving on. They didn’t try to rush, they wanted to make sure we were comfortable and as informed as possible before proceeding.

Fantastic experience: My son recently had a filling with the team at Little Teeth Big Smiles. We were a little nervous walking in but the assistant Hailey eased both of our worries from the start. She did such a great job keeping my kiddo calm throughout the process and later that evening, while recovering back at home he said "that lady at the dentist was so nice to me!" The team went as far as sending me a personalized text message the day following our appointment to ensure he was recovering well from the procedure. Negative experience: I am very disappointed. My kids have been coming here for the last three years and this is their last time coming. They always overcharge. I’m always told I have to pay for fluoride which I just found out through my insurance. That fluoride is covered. My son just told me that he experienced being told in the back make your mother get the laughing gas. Even though that will be an extra charge. I’m just very dishearten at this dentist office. They will not return if you have kids this place make it looks fun, but it’s totally not Zeros all across the board. I will never bring my kids here again.

Most insurances cover fluoride treatments twice a year; however, some employers contract with insurance companies for reduced coverage, such as once per year, or even no coverage for children over 13, in an effort to lower their costs.

Negative experience: I usually write 5 star reviews but after the experience yesterday at Little Teeth Big Smiles, I have decided to write up a 1 star review. First of all, the dental office pushes their dental care plan at $432 a year, for 2 vists which is "a savings of $286 a year". This is ridiculous because it doesn't cost $350 to perform a dental cleaning and exam for a 5 year old. And even with the plan, that's still sky high. Secondly, I didn't remember that I had paid for the plan a year ago and nobody at the office reminded me that I had prepaid for the full services so I declined the xray services. When I went to pay the bill for my daughter's 15 minute teeth cleaning, they then said that I had prepaid for the full service and it was my fault for not remembering that I had purchased the dental care plan 1 year ago. Then I said again that I didn't remember that I had prepaid the plan. I also said that they could have reminded me that I had prepaid the full plan when I declined the xray service. They then said they would have said there was a cost involved when I checked in and since they didn't say that, I should have known that I prepaid for the services. Little teeth and Big Smile I honestly am still speechless about the entire experience. Furthermore, I asked about the insurance plan and the just handed me a pamphlet and told me to figure it out. It turns out that the pamphlet is simply information on how to contact the backend software provider of the dental plan and when I contacted Kleen, they told me to call to Little Teeth and Big Smiles to address my concerns so it became a cat and mouse game. Needless to say, I'm never going back to a place that treats me so rudely and overcharges for a 15 minute 5 year old teeth cleaning service.

Fantastic experience: Maria the medical assistant was great with my kiddo! She always explained what was happening before doing anything. She gave constant updates on how much longer it would take. Most importantly, she asked fun questions to make the visit go by quickly and help distract my daughter. My daughter felt confident and comfortable at the dentist because of Maria :)

Fantastic experience: I've been a patient at Little Teeth Big Smiles since I was 7 years old, and now at 18, I can honestly say it’s been an amazing experience. The staff is incredibly friendly and truly gets to know you like family, making every visit a pleasure rather than something to fear. The atmosphere is always fun and welcoming, which made going to the dentist something I actually looked forward to. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for great dental care. I hate that I have to transition out, but I’m so grateful for all the years of care!

Fantastic experience: This practice is very thorough and they really take their time with the kiddos. My daughter experiences high anxiety during these appointments and Maria was wonderfully patient with her explaining all the tools and steps. We needed to do a tooth extraction and she came out of the procedure not even knowing her tooth was extracted! I fully recommend little teeth big smiles!

I have never had any problems about being in the room with my child for any procedures other than stand in the hall during xrays. Negative experience: Last year my 9 y/o son chipped a tooth at school. The school nurse said we should get it looked at right away, so we made an appointment with Little Teeth Big Smiles, where we had been going for four years. My 6 y/o daughter was also with us, because we came right from the school and I could not arrange childcare on such short notice. When we got there, I was told that their policy is that only one person is allowed go back with a child. This has always been their policy, but I figured surely they would make an exception in this kind of situation. Nope. I pleaded for them to allow my daughter to come with us, and even said she could sit on my lap the whole time, but they flatly refused. This left me in the position of either a.) leaving my 6 y/o daughter alone in the waiting room, or b.) telling my son--weeping with pain and fear--that we would have to come back another day. Faced with no other choice, we left, and have not returned. The same of it is that all of our other experiences with LTBS were positive. But people should be aware that their office policies are apparently more important than their patients, even in an emergency.

Fantastic experience: This was my daughter's first dental appointment ever and honestly, I can't imagine it having been anywhere else! The staff was so attentive, even asking her favorite cartoon show so that she could watch it in the room, to the staff explaining everything, to the receptionists being so caring and gentle with her! Fantastic experience: We have been going to Little Teeth Big Smiles for 7 years, and appreciate how they have always treated my child with extra care and attention, as he gets very anxious in medical and dental settings. Miranda was our hygienist in our most recent visit, and she went above and beyond to help him advocate for himself, and explained the cleaning in new ways to help him stay calm. She saw he might not enjoy the noise of the equipment, so got him headphones to wear, and took care of him so patiently throughout the exam and cleaning. Fantastic experience: Took my 5 year old to get his cavities taken care of and Maria made my son feel super comfortable and made sure to explain thoroughly the procedure and what to expect. My son is on the autism spectrum and I’ve had a tough time finding a spot where they are patient, but I’m glad I was recommended this clinic. I would highly recommend if you have special needs children due to their patience and kindness. Maria made my son feel comfortable and safe during his procedure which helped him get through it as well as checked in to see how he was doing.

Fantastic experience: My daughter recently went in for a filling for a cavity. She was super nervous and this was her first time. Luckily the dental assistant, Michelle, talked her through the procedure and was understanding and kind. She explained things before doing them, which put my daughter at ease. She needs one more in a few weeks and said to me “I hope I get Michelle again!” I hope so too!
