Since 1967, Jefferson Dental & Orthodontics continues to provide the most compassionate, high-quality, affordable and convenient dental and orthodontic care to our communities. We have over 70 offices throughout Texas and recently expanded to Oklahoma in 2021. We are the proud, official dentist of the Dallas Mavericks.
Our talented doctors, hygienists, dental assistants and team members are the very life force that allows us to care so deeply for our patients. Negative experience: If you ask for an estimate don't sign any paperwork if you're under insurance. The automatically contact insurance and your insurance automatically pays. I got two deep cleaning 3 weeks apart and the guy was calling numbers like 14 and 12.. I'm not to sure if they know what they're doing but they always get their money

Fantastic experience: Today I came in to Jefferson Dental to figure out what was going on with my Invisalign treatment. Well, since I didnt consistently follow the plan as ordered, I was no longer in line with my plan but I still owed a grip on my financing for the Invisalign. Gloria swooped in & saved the day. Glo explained my options, got me in to see Dr Okafor in ortho. Dr Okafor examined my teeth, explained my current options & recommended we change treatments to get my desired results. Glo went over the financial responsibility of the new treatment & I agreed to the change. Not only was the new treatment more cost effective, but I recieved supernatural debt cancelation from the original Invisalign debt. Is there a wait sometimes when you come into this particular location, yes, but its worth the wait if you want good service taking care of your choppers. I am very pleased with the results of my visit today & would recommend this Jefferson Dental location to anyone. And this is a real review & was not influenced by anything or anybody else. Negative experience: When I had insurance from the state they call give you reminders and text messages but as soon as I gotta pay $5,000 for some braces for my daughter no reminder calls no text messages but yet still taking my money very month now it's time to get her braces off and again no calls no text nothing, I set my own reminders but sometimes I'm so busy I forget and then they don't help, thy switched owners a year or two back and I miss the other Dr! He was on top of everything and we got the reminder calls and text every appointment now I'm always missing appointments cuz they can't do the curiously calls anymore or the reminder text messages but if I had Medicaid they would do their job ? SMH one star and I'll never be back!!!

Negative experience: The staff is nice the facility appears to be clean however the wait is ridiculously long. We've been here since 10am for a routine cleaning and my daughter's cleaning is JUST starting (at 1:03pm), and that's only because I complained. Not too sure if there's not a bit of prejudice here.

Positive experience: I sometimes become annoyed with their scheduling, it seems as if, they never have enough staff, which causes longer waits. It's not every time, but definitely something that needs attention. However, the service is good.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Patel and the tech who took my X-rays (I didn’t get her name) were phenomenal during my visit. They appeared genuinely caring and attentive, which made the experience much more comfortable. Although it took a bit long to wrap up the visit than I expected, I appreciate the thoroughness of the process. Overall, I am pleased with the start of my visit and look forward to the next steps in my care. Oh, and I didn’t get to talk to Ortho.

Negative experience: This place is joke…they don’t even answer their phones for months. They will try do all kinds services you didn’t ask for or approve. They even bill for something they miss in 08/2024 wow! no itemize statement where does they come from. Also, never bother to check my ortho benefits. Worst is never have appointments for months available… I’m done with this place worst mange ment ever…

Negative experience: Horrible service, was told that they were able to service my implant just to go back and they tell me there’s nothing they can do. This has caused me loss of time, business, and confidence. Never go here!!!!

Negative experience: I had an appointment at 4pm for a cleaning. They were trying to get me to pay $4000 for something I did not want. At 5:20pm, I still had not gotten my cleaning & was told the hygienist did not have time. They wasted my time & money for nothing. The office was definitely one of the most run down dentists I’ve been to. I would not recommend this place to anyone, they’re very gimmicky & just tried to sell me braces & invisalign when all I wanted was a cleaning.

Fantastic experience: It's kinda hard to get in with orthodontics & that can be frustrating BUT Dr Patel (general dentist) is so kind & patient. The front office staff was great at providing & explaining all my options & the technology in this office is top tier. The care I received couldn't have been better & I am absolutely loving my smile. I had 4 fillings, an extraction, a deep cleaning (the hygienist was equally fantastic) AND two bridges put in... took about 6 weeks but I'm very happy with the results & excited that I have restored health in my mouth that I simply need to maintain.

Fantastic experience: Very helpful with costs and health issues... none judgemental about what you can do verses what needs to be done given your finances and your health... very pleased with their personal attention to help you make those decisions... Dr Nira was most accommodating and did her best to make me feel comfortable and without pain during my proceedures... Leslie helped to keep me comfortable and did all she could to help me feel confident in the process and was there at all times... Both the Docter and her Dental assistant were very professional and explained to me what they going to do as they were doing the work on me.. The front desk folks were very helpful... I'm a Senior Citizen with limited funds so they arranged a payment plan that was reasonable as my insurance was very limited in scope and coverage for what I needed... All in all a very pleasant experience... I will be back for further proceedures as money and time permits... CD Spidel

Negative experience: Failed to sign a release to return to oncology for chemo treatment and FAILED to sign the form before the dentist departed on vacation for an extended vacation. Told nobody on the staff, staff involved another dentist who had her return the next morning to look in her mouth and charged 50$ after she sat in the office the day before 90 minutes before they could get the dentist to say ahh, and slap a scribbled name on the form and it took all of 15 minutes of thier time yet 2.5 hours of our time and had the nerve to charge 50$ because thier dentist FAILED to do her job. I won't even go into my 3 previous visits where they dropped the ball. Why my wife decided to give these capitalists a second chance is beyond me. Do not enter thier offices ever thinking they give 2 cents about your health. They maximize taking advantage of your insurance and then after they max out your limits, you'll be forced to pay the difference. No ethics, but thier staff is nice, unfortunately I highly suspect they are under paid as well. This is not stopping here folks, this is not over by a long shot.

Negative experience: I have bad experience with this place staff are friendly to who they want to be friendly with there waiting times are very long you spend more than 30 minutes to be call in they are not convenient at all you make it to your appointment only for them to reschedule you because doctors have to leave. They are very slow and they like to over booked patients for the same appointment slots all the time there office is always crowded with patients cause off overbooked appointments I haven’t been to all there locations but the spring branch is the worse.they need to come up with a better schedule system or retrain there frontline clerks on how to schedule patients 15-20aprt so that would eliminate the waiting period.

Negative experience: When someone charges you for a service they didn't provide, it's theft! They stole my payment out of pocket; I don't have insurance. Upon arrival, I asked how much it cost. They told me upfront that they would do the same for my two children: a cleaning for $70, the doctor for $49, and fluoride for $50! After waiting two hours, I saw that they were only doing it for my son because he's 5. The 2-year-old didn't get anything; they just looked at her mouth and gave her fluoride. They made me pay for nothing. My daughter also arrived with stained teeth because the doctor didn't even brush her properly! They stole $169 from me. I paid almost $400! Don't come back to this place, ever.

Negative experience: I would give them zero stars if I could. Horrible customer service, disorganized, bad workmanship, bad communication. The list goes on. I started my Invisalign with this office and then moved across the country to the east coast. They told me I couldn’t change providers so I took off work and flew there for every appointment for around 8 months. Not once did they remember or take this into account with my treatment (after I paid them thousands of dollars). Every appointment was a fight and most of the time I didn’t even get to see the orthodontist. Also, they did not explain the process well at all. After removing the bumps on my teeth - I still have glue everywhere that I will have to get another dentist to remove. Also, I had coordinated a family member to pick up my retainers and the front desk and doctor said it was fine. When my family member took off work and traveled there to pickup, they refused to release my retainers that I had already paid in full for and gotten approval . I feel like i could go on and on but I’m tired of even thinking about this place. Do yourself a favor and find another ortho/dentist. This place is a joke.

Negative experience: After getting called 15 plus times to confirm my son appointment I told the receptionist team that we had to be gone by 3pm his appointment was scheduled at 1:30pm we got there around 1:10pm I get that lunch is over at 1:30 so we waited he was not called to the back til 1:50. We get to the back they literally have several different people come talking to me telling me how much everything cost that needs to be done at this point it’s 2:38pm again we only scheduled a cleaning not a ortho appointment and etc and he still hasn’t gotten the cleaning that they called me 15 times to confirm . I don’t see how they thought I would pay them anything with the terrible service provided for both my son and daughter. We had to leave I had meetings I needed to attend and my son had to work at 4 this place has no care in the world for your time I hate I still have to go back for my daughters ortho appointments if I could get a refund we would not ever come back here avoid this place they are slow and have no courtesy for others time and what you have to do each time we have been here we have literally been here for hours and they are rude not one person but Gina the hygienist apologized to me for the long wait time . I hate this place don’t go here and I’m thinking about reporting them on the bbb site

Negative experience: I visited here a couple years ago and the whole appointment took close to 3 hours just for evaluation and xray. The waiting time was very long. The waiting room was full of people. They are not very good with timing. I made sure that it was covered by my insurance but now years have passed and they just sent a bill for it saying it wasn't. I called them knowing it is not possible but they are trying to say it has to do with insurance.Avoid this place.

Positive experience: I liked it when we first started coming in. However the past couple of times we've waited what seems forever! Our last appointment was at 1:45 and we didn't leave until 4:30. My kid only got a basic cleaning done. The hold was because they wanted me to buy a laser treatment and the front lady was supposed to come give me pricing, however I waited for like 40 min and she never came in the room. People kept walking by our cubicle, but they never stopped to give us the info we needed. I finally asked someone and they acted surprised to know they never came in. Anyway, I'm really reconsidering switching dentists. It's always hard because it's 5 people in my family

Negative experience: This location is horrible You're not seen until a hour maybe an hour in half after your appointment time. They continue to overbooked their patients and you can never get a callback when a message is left. I wouldn't recommend this location to anyone.

Negative experience: This place is honestly the WORST!! I got a call from this office that my 4 year old was due for a cleaning and to setup an appointment for him. I asked the lady to go over availability with me and that I would prefer a Saturday morning due to my schedule, she set up my appointment for feb 15th @11:30 am. I got to this office on feb 15th @ about 11:25 am and checked in only for the front desk lady to tell me my son is not due for a cleaning. I asked her to go through her call logs because they were the ones who called me to say he was due for a cleaning and to set up an appointment for him. She stated she’s not sure who I spoke to and was unable to review their call log and there was nothing she could do. Pls stay away from this office unless you want to clear out your schedule, set up an appointment and go into their office only for them to tell you they can’t see you due to their own negligence and disorganization! I won’t be using this dental office for my family anymore.

Negative experience: Save yourself some stress and stayed away from Houston location it seems they are going out of business, my dentist left and the brought in a new one and she don't have time, if I have broken bracket it can't be replaced my treatment has extended the period from which I agree with the othordent that I first meet. I am so confused on what to do about the my treatment in 6 months they have attended to me twice and each time was 15 minutes. Now I have to pay $25 if my bracket are broken. At first I was told broken bracket should be treated as emergency now the story has changed from not having a doctor on sit everyday. If you missed your appointment you have to wait another 6 to 8 weeks to be seen. I was told once you pay 75% of your treatment fees they will immediately become a nightmare. The management needs to act fast.

Negative experience: I’ve been going to Jefferson Dental since 2017, and while the service used to be great with an amazing orthodontist who made sure I was comfortable at every visit, things have really gone downhill over the past year. I got my braces in 2021, and they were removed in November 2024, but the care has been inconsistent, with three different orthodontists and frequent staff changes. Appointments have been rushed, going from an hour to just 20 minutes, with the assistant only changing my rubber band colors. When my braces were removed, the doctor didn’t even check my teeth, and the assistant didn’t clean the glue residue or address two remaining brackets on my back teeth. The assistants used to actually do their jobs with care, but now it feels like they’re rushing through everything with an attitude. When I called to have these issues fixed, I was told they were too busy to help. Overall, I’m really disappointed by the lack of professionalism and care.

Positive experience: I was able to be seen the same day within 2 hrs of my call. The in office wait was about 35 minutes and I left about 2 hrs after I arrived. Insurance covered the visit. When I tried to floss at home, the floss broke due to the tight space between an adjacent tooth and the tooth with the crown reattachment. There was still cement between the 2 teeth. The next day flossing was normal again due to gradual settlement of the tooth crown. Overall I'm satisfied with Jefferson Dental.

Negative experience: The service is fine however my huge issue with them was inaccurate billing. When I checked my statement and realized I had paid over my patient responsibility I chatted with the office manager in office and she admitted I was correct. I am yet to receive my refund. Between my husband and I for different services we were overcharged approximately $250. When you call the billing number provided you are told they do not process refunds only payments. Left several messages for office manager to follow up on the matter, nothing. Terrible billing practices.

The collection department never returns calls or resolves anything! As I see it, my treatment is going to take longer than agreed upon because of the number of times my appointments are cancelled without prior notification!

Negative experience: I’ve been holding off on writing this review until my loan was fixed, but they’ve gone no-contact again so I doubt I’ll ever get the information I requested. I hope this review helps save someone else from this nightmare. I visited Jefferson Dental in Spring last year, and while I tend to tolerate a lot, this experience has been awful from start to finish. The hygienist was sweet and kind, she was the only solidly good experience I had at Jefferson. My dentist was nice, though clearly overscheduled and rushed through my fillings. Unfortunately, the dental assistants were extremely rude and impatient. I have severe TMJ, which makes dental work painful, and despite explaining this multiple times, every time I needed a break, the assistants became visibly frustrated. One of them, when prepping my teeth for fillings, kept yanking my mouth around without giving any direction, tearing up the inside of my cheek and gums with the wire. They advertise being “no shame” and “experienced with dental anxiety,” but in both my appointments I overheard the dental assistants and the front desk staff complaining about patients. I understand venting happens, but it should be done out of earshot in a professional setting, especially in healthcare. The front desk staff were also rude and impatient. Asking a question felt like a major inconvenience to them. When it came time to discuss treatment plan and payment, the pushiness was even worse. The woman who helped me pressured me to make decisions that day, saying prices could increase if I didn’t decide that day. I was given a quote for braces and other dental work and was basically told I had to decide immediately and when I declined the braces they tried to push even further. I signed up for a dental loan that covered the entire treatment plan. When I asked what would happen if I changed my mind on a part of the treatment, they reassured me it would be easy to update the loan. That was a lie. After my rushed, painful, and uneven fillings, I decided not to go through with the root canal there. I called repeatedly to update my loan, but the office manager was always “out” or unavailable. For six months, I couldn’t get ahold of anyone who could help. The billing department said they needed the office manager to request a refund, but the office manager ignored four urgent emails sent by billing on my behalf. The front desk eventually just started forwarding my calls to their call center, and even they sent several urgent emails with no response. One of their call center reps said this is common and if they don’t answer to just show up in the office and demand to speak to someone because it was ridiculous how long this has been going on for. She said “They’re going to try to tell you she’s not there, but I’m telling you right now she is, don’t let them lie to you”. How often does this happen that she had this advice for me? After almost a year of this back and forth, I finally got in touch with the office manager, and while my loan was updated, it still looks to be too much. I’ve been calling and emailing for over a month to get a copy of my treatment plan to verify the charges. When I finally reached someone, I was told the original office manager had been transferred, and the new office manager promised to send the information within 24 hours. It’s been a week, and I still haven’t received anything. I’m tired of chasing these people. I’m tired of calling and emailing and following up because their office managers are unable (or unwilling?) to keep up with follow ups with their customers. This company has been unbelievably unprofessional, and I wouldn’t recommend going here. The payment plans may seem enticing because dental work is expensive, but if you change your treatment plan, it will be a nightmare to get it updated. Any work you do receive will be painful and rushed. Do better research than I did and find another dental office.

Fantastic experience: First, let's start with the staff, overall professional, friendly and courteous. They're great with kids and parents, they said all the right things to educate my child about the process, which made him comfortable, and didn't ignore me and speak among themselves about my child. They educated me in a different way, they allowed me to look into my child's mouth with the mirror, discussed current dental conditions, and showed us the X-Rays when explaining what was needed. The dentist and his staff again were professional, friendly, and courteous, and told us their goal is to "prevent pain." They made it a great experience for us. Thank you.

Fantastic experience: Amazing experience with Dr.Omar his light like feather hands calm energy relaxed my nerves. The staff hygienist Daniela, Dental Assistant Maria, X-ray tech Tyra, managers Esmeralda, Amber, Valentina all were very informed in explaining and calming me and my kids down. Fantastic experience: Great place to bring your little ones. They helped me out a lot. Went out of their way to assist me and guide me with my children. Being a single father and having little kids and going to the Dentist is a whole different type of stress. And the ladies up front as well as the Dentist and the nurses in the back helped me out a lot and made sure I understood everything that I needed to know about my children's teeth. Will definitely be going back to this same dental office. I highly recommend coming here and also bringing your children if they also need dental work.

Fantastic experience: This has been an absolutely great experience. Not only with this dental company, but the staff are amazing! Dr. Khakhar did an amazing job with my boyfriend’s dental work, he was understanding, and quick. Thai and Cinthia were very kind and efficient as well. Could not have had him come out with a bigger smile, so grateful to have found this place! We are for sure going to be returning patients of this establishment, and I hope to be one, personally, myself. I’m not sure if I had the opportunity to speak with Amber or not, but she should be extremely proud of her staff in the patient rooms and those working hard at the front desk. The location is clean and efficient.

Negative experience: Worst dental offices, their scheduling system is ridiculous, they make all kind of mistakes with scheduling, you show up and they tell you sorry, if I can give a negative 10 on this review I would. My daughter has not been able to get her braces re tightened since Feb and I paid off her braces already. DONT DO IT, looking for another dental clinic for my other daughters braces.

Positive experience: Had an appointment here at the Spring location for my grandma as she needed dentures and to get her remaining bottom teeth checked out. The entire staff was amazing - from the team members at the front desk, dental assistants, dental hygienist, and the dentist. Everyone was so kind and willing to accommodate my grandma which I very much appreciated (as she was in a wheelchair). They were also very thorough in explaining everything involving her treatment plan and for the process with the dentures. It was helpful as they were very informative and educational (also did not feel rushed). Definitely feel that the staff here truly cares for their patients. But only giving 4 stars as there was a long wait time. We arrived on time for her appointment but it took about an hour before she was actually seen. My grandma's appointment was during my break time at work (I was hoping to be in and out within an hour) but had to miss some more time at work due to the delay. Thankfully my manager was very understanding about it and I was able to push out one work meeting but had to reschedule another work meeting to the next day. I let the dental assistant know that I had a work meeting and she was able to quickly find a dental hygienist to do her exam. I really did appreciate both of them (dental assistant and hygienist) for trying to expedite the X-rays and exam. But afterwards it took a while for the dentist to see her to finish out her exam/consultation. Seems like he was the only dentist available that day. It turned out to be a little over 3 hours when I was expecting it to be a 1 hour visit. Overall had a good experience, mainly due to the staff. Only down side is the long wait time, which this dental office should work on improving as it seems like long wait times are a consistent issue (mentioned in the Google reviews left by other patients). Would still recommend this place but just calling out that there could be long wait times.

Negative experience: This location was over booked and chaotic! There was barely anywhere to sit, so we stood for a time. The building was warm, and packed. The "play room" for kids, contained the overflow of seatless adults. There was literally one toy and nothing to stimulate or entertain a child. My son has a disability and was not accommodated according to his needs. We went into a cubicle style room 1 hour after our scheduled appointment time. A woman in scrubs asked my non verbal son could she xray him. He responded by crying and attempting to elope. She told us the doctor would arrive. An additional 45 minutes went by, and no doctor. My son became irritable with the warmness of the office, the over stimulation of the loud, overly packed office, people squeezing by everywhere. The fact that our neurodivergent children aren't considered is saddening. Disabled children ahould be comfortable and receive adequate care as well. This office was a nightmare! We left after receiving NO TREATMENT OR ACTUAL CARE. We won't be returning to this location. It was awful!
