Fantastic experience: My dental student is very warm and personable; she is very careful working on my teeth and gums. She is not pushy, very considerate and if equipment is not working, she immediately finds someone and asks for assistance. She’s never been grumpy and interested in getting to know me and my life!

Positive experience: The Dental clinic student I have is Brook in the orange group. Brook is an amazing student wonderful person who listens to patient concerns, and , she will make a wonderful Dentist.

Fantastic experience: They really listened to my concerns and adjusted the treatment plan to accommodate my concerns and issues! What more could possibly be expected? Nothing! They went above and beyond what anyone could possibly expect, demonstrating that I was truly important in the care process. I can't emphasize how professional, efficient and caring the entire team at University of Minnesota School of Dentistry has been. Truly worthy of my five star rating. I would like to rate them higher, so add at least one + plus or a whole star to my rating.

Fantastic experience: I was very impressed with the resident dental student who serviced me (Sergio)! He was VERY thorough and explained the process to me. I knew going in that this would be a different experience from a standard dental office (longer/multiple appointments,etc.), but the service and care and attention to detail was no different. All of the student's work is double checked and approved by the professors so you know you're getting top notch care. It was cool to see and experience the "behind the scenes" aspect of becoming a dentist! Kudos to all the students, educators and trainers! I'll definitely be back in the future! That was honestly one of the best cleanings I've had!! Real talk.

Fantastic experience: I've been to the U of M School of Dentistry three times so far, and every time has been great! Since the school's purpose is to train burgeoning dental professionals, they're quite thorough and the student's work is checked carefully by the attending teachers. Consequently, one must be patient, and also know that your visit will not be slap-dash!

Fantastic experience: I have been a patient of the U of M Dental Clinic for 41 years. That should speak for itself. Most of that time I had no dental insurance and they did their best to keep the cost reasonable. The quality of both the preventative and the restorative care has been first rate. I now have dental insurance and I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

She has only performed the work that is required and never tried to push any treatment plan. She also really went the extra mile to ensure my mouth guard fit perfectly and my teeth sensitivity needs were met. Two thumbs all the way up

Negative experience: Haven't been to the clinic in 6 years and called to make an appointment. The girl who answered the appointment line was extremely curt and short and actually sounded angry. Some of her words were inaudible so I asked a couple questions about things I couldn't hear her mentioning which almost seemed to make her more short with me. She said they had no openings which I understood and she told me the fall schedule comes out in August. The whole time it was like she wanted to get off the phone with me, and weary from the experience I kindly asked her if she was having a good day since I didnt understand the attitude for someone representing the university's clinic. She quickly said, yes, I am are you? To which I answered yes then said I will call back mid August. Not friendly at all. Just isn't what you expect in as far as no pleasant greeting, tone of voice or attitude when calling needing a new patient exam. Sounded like someone who either doesn't like her job, or doesn't like talking to people. Really a turn off.

Negative experience: These people don't call their patients back & they don't teach their students how to properly administered novocaine!!! You shouldn't feel the entre syringe of novocane go in & not be numb from it!!!

Fantastic experience: Excellent clinic- I highly recommended for both emergency and normal services!! I had a major fall back in April that caused major damage to my front tooth. I visited several other dentists to try and get help and each one failed me due to bad paperwork, referrals, long wait times, etc.. I spent almost a month in pain and with limited ability to eat, drink, and even talk. I visited U of MN's dental clinics (after having a good experience with their veterinary services) and was helped immediately! They secured my tooth and got me an in-house Endodontist appointment within the week. This completely resolved my pain and got me on the road to receiving a new crown for the tooth soon :) The students and overseeing dentists are all very friendly, knowledgeable, and thorough with what they do. They work very well to address any problems on the fly, which is something I've never experienced before. Overall, I'm super happy with this clinic and plan on making it my regular dentist from now on.

Negative experience: I have been a patient U of Mn Dental for nearly 3 years. My overall experience has been great. Parking and or construction aside they have consistently taken care of my needs and I personally feel my time spent there helps benefit the students who are the primary dentists.

Fantastic experience: Second visit today for the very comprehensive assessment, as to what my teeth and dental care will be. The dental school provides a level of detail and comprehensive attention that is remarkable. As I continue with a cleaning next, and then some crown work, I will update. The Dentists and their students one of whom Sophie has been with me for two visits now are so good, professional, and friendly. Thumbs up also for Dr. Mary Anderson, who was the instructor/Dentist for me today.

Fantastic experience: It's a long appointment but very thorough. I'm grateful they got me in within a few weeks. I struggled to find a dentist that would accept new patients. The students and technicians were patient and kind.

I'm of retirement age, and no doubt provide them with a variety of learning experiences. The kindness, nonjudgmental attitude and high standards of professionalism I've observed is impressive.

Fantastic experience: The exam and detailed information received from the student and teacher was excellent! My dentist could not see an issue and referred me to a specialist. Lucky I checked in with the U of M and did not go to the specialist, would have cost a lot more and have not experienced pain since the exam. Thank you U of M and student!

Negative experience: I got a busted lip from a tooth extraction because they were putting so much pressure on my face with their hands and dental tools. The two students who were working on me took an hour and twenty, and then bailed to have their supervisor finish the job. Took a long time to get the appointment, the staff on the phone was very rude!

Fantastic experience: I am very happy with the U of M School of dentistry. The first time you visit, you are paired up with a student. I have been working with Antea. She has always done high quality dental work, (Antea may be the only dentist that has ever given me a shot of Novocaine that I didn’t even feel the needle go in even). From the beginning she walked me through the entire process, making sure I was comfortable. They work with people to discuss finances and options, and their pricing is really good, at around 40% less than a private practice, and you can help students learn. I have not ever worried that they are students. Antea’s attention to detail is amazing.

Fantastic experience: Third year student Brian was very personable and did a great job w my checkup-- assessment and recommendations to come.

Positive experience: I have enjoyed working with my student and appreciate that the fees are submitted to my insurance. You do have to understand that if you have restorative work, it can take longer to get it done.

Non stop efficient exam, conducted by David DeJong under expert guidance of U of MN Professors of Dentistry with enormous gathering of info to provide strong foundation and high level of confidence for my future dental care!

Fantastic experience: Always an extremely thorough and pleasant experience. Dental students are closely watched by senior dentists every step of the way. Most teaching dentists who do the supervising, have 30-40 years of running their own dental practice. The school can handle any dental issue, take most insurances, and are extremely reasonable if paying out of pocket. Parking ramp is directly across the street and you receive a discount/valadation when you check in. Elevators go down to the U of MN "tunnel", so you dont have to go outside!

If I was confused I asked for the step by step plans so when I left I felt comfortable. I have also been able to get in for the next step very quickly.

Negative experience: HORRIBLE CASE MANAGEMENT! Horrible customer service They wasted over 16 months of my time and this crown that they installed is still not correct. My tooth sensitivity is thru the roof and I paid these ppl over $600 with Health Insurance not Medicaid. Do not waste your time or money here

Fantastic experience: They were so sweet to me. I went in for what I thought would be a filling and turned into molar extractions because my teeth were worse than I thought, and they brought in some people to reassure me and help me through the pain/pressure of it. Then I needed nine fillings after that and they were so thoughtful and helpful.

Fantastic experience: Haven’t had dental care in a long time (almost two decades). The team I worked with is caring and professional. I feel well taken care of and if I have questions or concerns they address them right away. If you are looking for dental care, use this place! They are great!

Palia Was also extremely helpful explaining insurance, benefits, and costs. The costs ended up being about 50% The cost of private services. I Would recommend the university of Minnesota school of dentistry to everyone.
