Fantastic experience: Dr. V is exceptionally knowledgeable, skilled, caring, and kind. I can’t recommend him highly enough. Truly the best in the profession.

Fantastic experience: I just got a cleaning here. Sabrina is the best hygienist I have ever seen. Wow! I’ve never gotten a cleaning that amazing before. Thank you so much. She’s a travel hygienist but shout out to her for making that experience so amazing. I hope to see her again. I’m looking forward to coming back for whitening tomorrow and then my new crowns. Negative experience: I wanted to start off by saying that Dr.Vahid is absolutely amazing and he’s done my cleanings and my bonding multiple times. I decided to book an appt for this Saturday even though they don’t take my insurance anymore because that’s how much I love this office, I was literally going to pay out of pocket for it. However, my family and I lost our cousin (only 36 years old) in a tragedy super unexpectedly and the funeral is Saturday 9:30am all the way out in Passaic. I called to reschedule (not even cancel) just reschedule for another Saturday and the women in charge of scheduling said it would be $50 for the cancellation. I explained to her the situation and still “it is still $50 I have family too but we need 48 hours notice or it’s a cancellation fee”. Super unempathetic… I’m sorry that I didn’t know I was going to lose my cousin any sooner… like what a complete joke. I was a loyal customer but I can not come to a practice where the staff does not care about their patients. Especially in this scenario I’m dealing with.

Fantastic experience: I had a root canal done today with Dr. V at AV Dental Associates, and my experience was excellent. From the moment I walked in, the staff was friendly and welcoming. Dr. V explained everything clearly, made sure I was comfortable throughout the procedure, and did a great job. The treatment was smooth, painless, and I felt well taken care of. I highly recommend Dr. V and the entire team at AV Dental Associates for anyone looking for quality dental care in Jersey City!

Fantastic experience: Its been a long, LONG while since I've gotten a proper dental exam. Dr. V, Dr. Jen and the team at Av Dental Associates addressed every concern I had during this visit. Ernesto did my deep cleaning and the process was a breeze thanks to him. Very funny; the conversation didnt feel forced and took my mind off the pressure. I didn't feel any judgement even as I felt the world was ending. Everyone was very accommodating and understanding; from the front desk staff to the doctors. Can't recommend them enough.

Negative experience: I would give this only one star if I could but I really loved of their techs, Raul. He was a sweetheart. I enjoyed my experience at first but then they kept rescheduling and messing with my existing appointments. It was just for cleanings. I found them to be unprofessional, so I found a new dentist. It was a blessing in disguise because it made me realize that AV doesn’t do very thorough cleanings. I also told them multiple times that I found a new dentist and they keep calling me to make an appointment. Updating this to one star because they called AGAIN after I told them numerous times that I have a new dentist. Feels like harassment at this point.

Negative experience: Based on a single panoramic view will diagnose false cavities in order to get business. I’m still regretting coming here years later. In response to Dr Vahid’s response: Please find my patient records and see that full X-rays were never obtained and that I immediately after had 11 (!) fillings done. I was concerned as to why there were suddenly so many was told not to worry because “my insurance will cover cost”. I was not knowledgeable about dental caries at the time I visited your practice and feel that I was taken advantage of.

Positive experience: I used to like coming here but the dentists became progressively younger and inexperienced and the fillings they gave me would fall out. Last week, I just lost another filling they did. They kept finding cavities which seemed suspicious given that I brush three times a day. I have changed a dental office a couple of years ago and suddenly, I get no more cavities! I wish I hadn't gone to av dental for such a long time as I fear they ruined some of my perfectly healthy teeth over time. Literally every six months they'd find another cavity or two. Additionally, they're very aggressive on marketing. Two years later, I keep getting calls every few weeks to come back. Clearly, if I was interested, I would. They just don't get the hint.

Fantastic experience: I chipped my tooth randomly and immediately searched the nearest dentist for an emergency appointment. AV Dental Associates was able to book me for an appointment immediately the next day. Crystal at the front desk is so patient, kind, and astute. She answered all of my questions with such clarity and knowledge. Dr. V has amazing bedside manner! He chatted with me and my husband about our upcoming trip and made me feel so at ease! I was so anxious about my tooth and he made me feel comfortable and relaxed. I didn’t feel judged. I felt supported, taken care of, and respected. My tooth is good as new. I would highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Went there a month ago after note being to the dentist in a very long time. They reassured me, made me feel comfortable and informed. Will be taking the kids here going forward. And the dental hygienist that took care of me was the best. He laughed, joked and did a wonderful job!!!!

Fantastic experience: These folks were fantastic! I am on vacation in jersey from across the country. My temp crown chipped. They got me in same day and i was in and out in an hour with a new temp crown! They were super friendly, all costs were given up front with all options so you can make an informed choice. They told me everything they were going to do. I couldnt have had a better experience and if i lived here they would be my dentist!

Fantastic experience: I have recently moved to the area of Jersey City and I decided it was time for me to finally take action and resolve my dental issues. From the first appointment (initial consultation) AV Dental and all the amazing people who work there have been so accommodating, supportive and just generally providing the very best personable service to me and their other patients. I have been returning for follow up visits for various reasons and I am always greeted so positively by Nicole at the desk. Nicole is always so positive and friendly and welcoming that it puts a nervous patient like me immediately at ease. I have had the pleasure of having appointments with many of the dentists and hygienists there. All of the staff take a personable approach and genuinely care about their patients and their reasons for wanting dental treatments. Special shout out to Ernesto, Dr V and Dr Jen for being so patient and friendly with me. 100% would recommend to anyone. Be back again soon!

This is my 2nd review 1/20/25 I had an extraction done today, this tooth was broken for a long time and needed to be extracted....I cannot explain the dental anxiety that I have it's awful but I went back because my Dentist explains everything before and during the procedure and this helps me to relax...the staff is friendly and the office is clean, I am not going anywhere else AV Dental Associates is where I will continue to go for All my dental needs! Fantastic experience: Glad to see all the other comments mentioned how amazing Ernesto is as a hygienist. I have been going to a dentist for 2 years back in Washington DC and never did anyone mention that there were leftover cement from when I had my braces as a teen/ young adult. For years I wondered why my teeth felt rough and stains so quickly. I always just assumed it was me and my brushing habit as no dentist previously told me about it. Even when I have brought it up in the past where I told them I felt like I had braces glue stuck on my teeth and no one listened. Well today for the first time someone did, thank you Ernesto for getting my teeth back in good shape and pearly white. I really appreciate the care and attention given to me today. 5/5 would recommend anyone new to Jersey City and looking for a good dentist.

Positive experience: Dr. Vahid and hygienists are amazing at their profession. Always had a good experience with them and I will recommend their service. DR. Vahid is genuine and will not rip you off to get something which is not required. I had issue with the front desk “Cristal” during my recent visit. Please try not to be rude with client. You quote an incorrect price when booking the appointment and after the appointment you flip at me like it was my mistake that you failed to check the correct rate for service rendered. To all reader my issue was with front desk. Doctors and hygienist will never disappoint you. Good Luck to AV dental.

Fantastic experience: Today I went in for a cleaning with Cristina and I enjoyed my visit. The entire team is extremely friendly, accommodating and they genuinely seem to care about their patients. The office is very clean and welcoming. Cristina is very sweet, gentle with my teeth and we always have great conversations. Would definitely recommend.

Fantastic experience: If you value your health and want the best care, Av Dental is the place to go. Recently my mother and I went for cleanings, and I must say, Av Dental has some world class service. The office manager Shirley, was extremely cooperative. She let us know that we were in good hands, she was immensely patient and both my mother and I felt right at home. The entire process was seamless and the cleaning that both me and my mother received was absolutely top notch. The hygienist, Ernesto, took his time and made sure that we were comfortable. He is truly talented and knows exactly what he’s doing. Av Dental had some of the best service I’ve seen in a while, if you want quality, Av Dental is what you’re looking for.

Fantastic experience: I don’t usually leave a review, but I was compelled to after an insurance ordeal I was having. The office manager Shirley was very attentive to my needs and concerns. With some back and forth with the insurance company she was able to get me to where I was comfortable with my payments. The staff is very friendly and for me bedside manner is a must being that I get a lot of anxiety when visiting the dentist. The hygienist was especially comforting realizing that I couldn’t relax due to my phobias he took his time and made sure I was comfortable before proceeding. Negative experience: AVIOD AT ALL COST. Went in for root canal the first time. The dentist that was overseaing the root canal had no clue what she was doing. She involved another dentist twice before the third time he had to take over her work to finish it. Then went for FILLINGS which was recommended to me based on a “small cavity “ they explained to me that the fillings were needed to AVIOD a root canal. Once again another dentist that came that had no idea what she was doing. She butchered both of my tooth with none stop pain happening daily. When confronted the rude staff just say “i don't know what you want me to do” Seems that the whole office has no clue how to conduct their job.

Fantastic experience: I have terrible anxiety when it comes to my teeth and dental care. I was going to a place in NYC, but needed an emergency visit, so I went to AV. I have never felt so welcomed and cared for as a first time client with some dental concerns and pain - this is my new spot, and I can’t recommend them enough.

Negative experience: Went in for emergency pain. They offered to give me an injection to help with pain while I waited for the antibiotics. They tried to push me into buy a dental package that didn’t cover the work I actually needed done. They wanted me to buy the plan and pay full out of pocket for root canal and filing. Pricing over $3500 for plan & root canal. Once I said I needed time to speak to my mom they said they wouldn’t help me with pain. The person in charge of treatment plans was very pushy and rude. 0/10 would never go back here. I’m young and felt pressured and pushed.

Fantastic experience: I am visiting from out of state and had a chipped tooth that was causing me pain and anxiety. The staff got me in for a same day appointment and the dentist was able to repair my tooth. Even though the office was busy, they were able to get in and out fairly quickly. Great atmosphere and friendly folks! And my tooth feels much better

Positive experience: Have been their patient for a good number of years (perhaps 5yr now) Generally speaking have had a good experience with the dentists at this location, however I have noticed that there is a high rotation of dentists working at the practice which is never desirable. However, the biggest issue i have had came last week when I had to cancel my last minute appointment due to my wife being at ER and me having to take watch for my 2 yr old. I informed the front desk asap on the same (9am) and to my surprise i was notified that "as a courtesy no charge will apply but moving forward less the 48 hours notice will $50" . I would advise the management to instruct the front desk to look at the patients record before sending messages such as these. I have never had to cancel last minute. And obviously in emergencies , people have no means to inform with 48 hrs notice. Seriously considering if my family should go back. Update 10/17: Dr.Vahid contacted me directly to apologize for the experience and reassure me this will not be happening again. The response was highly appreciated

Fantastic experience: A week ago I went in for an emergency and they took me right away, gave me everything necessary to make the pain away and even upon the day after when I was having some medication complications the office was quick to prescribe me something else. Everyone is very friendly with good spirits and very attentive even with my after care, now with my follow appointment everything was thankfully good and even with a bit a discomfort they were able to make the adjustments that day. I was very skeptical as I got both the procedures done on the same day but both of them did a great job at making me comfortable by familiarizing me with the procedure and assuring great care. Fantastic experience: I hadn't been to the dentist in ten years. Yes you read that right TEN YEARS. One terrifying experience caused a lot of anxiety. #trauma Of course like most people I waited out any pain and took pain reliver/orajel when the need arose. Until the day they inevitably stopped working and my tooth was cracked. Yay root canal. (At least they could save the tooth) I was extremely scared to even schedule the appointment. But hey I did! Obstacle one down. They take just about every PPO insurance. (I have delta dental for anyone wondering, oh and they do Sunbit for payments too) The front desk women are very nice, they are also very reassuring. (I am sure I looked and seemed like a nutcase with my shaking and stuttering) I was also worried about the judgement of my dental health with being so young. Not one single staff member judged me or made me feel bad. They were all extremely positive, sympathetic, and empathetic. The experience was honestly 10 stars. I saw Dr. V for a root canal and crown. I wish I had his energy and I'm surprised he doesn't work with kids. (Maybe he does?) That's how great he was with me. (Shout out to his assistant who was his right hand during the process) The procedure went very well and he is insistent on you feeling 0 pain. If you are worried about your teeth or a specific tooth and have really bad anxiety, be it in general or from a really bad experience, this is the place for you. Try it out, even just go to the office for a consultation and talk to them. Money an issue? Same. They are very reasonable with pricing. I'm honestly glad I gave them a chance and I will be coming here again, with my teeth I need a few things fixed and I found a great office. I hope you have now too.

Fantastic experience: Very kind, thoughtful, attentive and efficient! As someone who had bad experiences with dentists as a child, I neglected my teeth for a long while and desperately needed to remedy my bad breath but was very timid/ nervous. There wasn't any instance throughout my 2 hour visit where I felt uncomfortable or nervous as I was treated with the utmost care by the friendliest staff imaginable (they would even laugh at my terrible jokes). It feels strange to say given my history with dentists, but I am actually looking forward to my next visit as I am confident that my teeth, gums and mouth are in good hands. Fantastic experience: Amazing staff Cristal was so friendly and welcoming. Hygienists Christina did an amazing job on my cleaning and was very insightful. Definitely will refer people to this office it’s very hard to find a dental office you can rely on and Av dental definitely is it for me .

He is not only incredibly thorough and professional, but also very cool. Ernesto is also very knowledgeable about oral health and is always happy to answer any questions I have. He's given me some great tips on how to improve my brushing and flossing technique, which have definitely helped keep my teeth and gums healthy. Overall, I can't say enough good things about Ernesto. Fantastic experience: After seeing another dentist for a reoccurring tooth problem that was not fixed, a friend of mine recommended AV Dental Associates Dr. Arash Vahid. This dental office is very clean. The staff are very professional, warm and welcoming. They are very pleasant. Dr. Arash Vahid is so down to earth and makes you feel comfortable. After X-rays and a scan of the problem tooth, he gave me two options to resolve the issues and his recommendation that would be best for me. He answered all my questions honestly and made me feel confident in his expertise.

They genuinely have their patients’ best interests, rather than trying to use your visit as a business or money-making opportunity. I’ve seen Ernesto & Crystal several times now, they are great. Fantastic experience: Needed an emergency procedure for my 89 year old mom. From first calling, Jessica was a sweetheart and said send over x-rays to see if a doctor can do this, and doctor reviewed such X-rays immediately knowing it's an emergency. Gratefully they had her come in within 40 minutes and honored the appointment - no wait. She was absolutely terrified but staff, Raul, (another gentleman didn't catch is name) and Dr. B put her at ease and treated her so kindly. And did a wonderful job. As her hearing is going, I was allowed to remain with her, and their compassion encouraged me to do such.
