Fantastic experience: From check in to check out the staff are just fantastic. Dr. Riyal has built an amazing practice that aims to please. He takes the time to explain everything and never seems in a hurry to get to the next patient. I was very impressed with the cutting edge dental equipment that my old dentist did not have.

Fantastic experience: From START to FINISH my experience was EXCELLENT. Fearing a dental 'emergency', I called MISWAK around noon, and they were able to see me at 3:30. Receptionists were phone friendly, and even friendlier in person. From paperwork to payment, everything was smooth. Firstly, the office and dental work pods are gorgeous. Second, the Dental Assistant, Chrissy, went above and beyond, providing amazing bedside manner, and was super mindful, quelling any potential area for discomfort. Third, Dr. Shaan Ankola was AMAZING. Warm, mindful, friendly, accommodating, informative...he really made me feel that I was being heard. Excellent dentist. MISWAK REALLY TOOK GREAT CARE OF ME.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to Miswak for almost a decade now. They are the only dentist I’ll see in Chicago, and like most I loathe the dentist. They have moved to a beautiful new facility, but also make sure you’re well taken care of there as well as just doing great work.

The hygienists at Miswak are so kind and upbeat and skilled - it has almost cured me of my phobia (believe me, it’s a miracle). Negative experience: I’ve been a client for over 5 yrs. Back when they were on Chicago ave. I’ve always been an out of pocket customer. 2 cleanings a year with X-rays and fairly priced. As of late prices have just gotten out of hand. Cost went up $50 every 6 months the past 2 years. $250 for a cleaning and X-rays?? Service is good and the office is nice but no thank you. Time to look elsewhere.

Negative experience: I usually wouldn’t bother reviewing a business, but this one, which treated me unfairly, insists on sending constant reminders for a review. I give Miswak credit for scheduling me for a routine dental appointment within two days. On the day of the visit, I was called an hour before and informed that the dental hygienist had called off, so I would only see the dentist. This meant no teeth cleaning, which I reluctantly accepted since I had already taken time off for the appointment. Upon arrival, I noticed that the office was busy with multiple hygienists cleaning teeth and dentists everywhere. It seemed that their business model was inflexible. The dentist finished my examination and asked me to use a prescription-grade toothpaste to heal my enamel. I was given a month’s worth of prescription toothpaste without refills, which seemed odd for something I would need for an extended period, if not indefinitely. The next day, I left town and forgot my prescription at home. I called the Miswak office to request that they email me the prescription. However, I was informed that it was against their policy to email prescriptions because I could simply reprint it without returning to the office. I understand that businesses want to protect their bottom line, but I couldn’t help but feel frustrated. I suggested that they call the prescription in to a nearby pharmacy, which is the industry standard. However, they refused to do so because they didn’t have the time to be placed on hold by pharmacies. I was left with the only option of coming in person to pick up the prescription. I informed them that I was far away and couldn’t come in, but they insisted that I could. Feeling inconvenienced, I decided to call my primary physician instead. Within ten minutes, the prescription was called in with multiple refills. This experience left me with the impression that Miswak’s primary objective is their productivity. If you get helped, you’re lucky.

Fantastic experience: Great, friendly, professional service! Brie is my go-to hygienist, she'a fantastic! She is very attentive, professional, and has a light touch during the cleaning...I can be a huge baby. I always look forward to visiting the office so we can catch up on dog talk while I watch the otter livestream on TV (if you know, you know). Brie does a great job of keeping my teeth white and shiny while also keeping me entertained. This woman is a tremendous asset to Miswak, they're lucky to have her!

Negative experience: I have been coming to Miswak for years but today was a huge disappointment. Shauna was my dental hygienist for years and I saw someone new today. While she was very nice, it felt like I had never been there and I was a brand new patient. I was last there in August and today it was like I had never been to a dentist before. All new x-rays had to be done (several times because the system went down) and was told I needed a deep cleaning although I have been coming religiously every 3 months. My last visit I had a great outcome and today I felt like I had a disgusting mouth. Very upset. And I saw a new dentist who I've never seen before. I love Miswak, but today really made me question if I find a new dentist. I miss Shauna. She is the best.

Negative experience: Came here with my mother in law. She had a check up and upon getting her teeth checked, it was determined that she needs a deep clean. We wanted to schedule it, but they started saying how there’s no availability. I asked them when the next available appointment is and they kept saying they don’t have anything soon. They said they’ll call us. They obviously didn’t want to take on the job because there was a lot of cleaning to do. But this is a dental office! How can you just take someone for a checkup and say it’s urgent to get the deep clean, but you won’t do it? But instead of saying they won’t take her on as a client, they just kept saying how in case of an availability opening up, they’ll call us. It’s been over three weeks and nothing. Obviously, we went to another dentist, but what a disappointment and waste. Shame on you.

Fantastic experience: Just wanted to say that this/is one of the best referrals a friend ever gave me. Resulting in my being a patient for a number of years now. Dr Riyal is grt and so is his team, well educated on dental care and prevention; almost never do I leave w/o new helpful information about how to preserve the few real teeth that I have via root canels and fillings.They have made me a few partials too...transitioning from old metal technology to the latest hybrids. Can't afford the implants, even with a payment plan that I've utilized before. Retired an on a fixed income these days! Very appreciative of their services.

Positive experience: Went for a cleaning and work on my smile. On time for my appointment, was greeted and walked straight into a room. Pleasant staff and dentist was very attentive. After my cleaning, my dentist went over choices to work on my smile and what would be covered by my insurance. Prices were reasonable and I was happy with the work that was completed. This is my new dentist. The same for this visit also except they could not reattach a crown that popped off and I have to return later next week.

Miswak Dental office was such a sweet experience that I highly recommend anyone in need of a good dentist to visit this place. From their office greetings of great customer service, to sitting in a beautiful cozy lobby to prepare you for your dental work. Want a water bottle or blanket they got you. Invasive technology you don't have to go through having giant bite wings that hurt when getting x-rays. They have a small hand held xray gun that takes a picture in a few second. All your x-rays are placed on a big screen and the dentist goes over each tooth that needs worked on. He's so honest that he suggest critical teeth first and the best way to save you money. This office is not out to take it last penny- family owned and from Chicago so they know the value of helping you save if needed. I hope you take the time to check this place out yourself as you will see that this will be your new dental home! Jus lay back and relax watching a TV with a colorful sea of fishes in the ocean as you get your teeth worked on.

My wife and I started going here after we moved to Chicago in 2019 and have had very few issues with our dental care. We love Miswak Dentistry. We have recommended our friends to go here due to their honesty and flexibility. Once they made an appointment, they told us how good their experiences were too. The front desk team is extremely friendly, attentive, and accommodating. We have since moved out of the neighborhood, but still commute 20-30 minutes to Miswak. Give them a call, you will not regret it!

Dr Riyal is great will give you good suggestion that how you can take care of your oral health etc. However, If you've any oral(Gum) issues better you ask the Dr the correct direction earlier if they will be able to help you or not otherwise you'll spend years with regular cleaning/deep cleaning and after few years you'll be referred to periodontist.

Fantastic experience: Per a recommendation, I scheduled appointment w/ Dr. Tariq Riyal for a silver filling removal & chipped tooth repair - it was a 10+ experience. The place is modern, impeccably clean and comfortable. Dr. Riyal is easy to talk to and comforting as he is careful and meticulous in his work. Good location as far as parking is concerned too.

Fantastic experience: I live within walking distance of several dentists' offices but traveled to Miswak, based on another patient's recommendation. It was worth it! The office has all the amenities that are typical of an upscale dental practice, and they can do a lot of cosmetic procedures if you want. But I never felt like I was being upsold. I read about Dr. Riyal's background and how he grew up without dental insurance and wants to make dental care more accessible. Those values definitely come through. It had been many years since my last dental visit, but I never felt judged by anyone there, including the office staff and the hygienist. The focus was on getting me back on track and "We're glad you're here now" rather than doom and gloom and "If only you'd taken care of this years ago." I appreciated this positive approach and feeling like there was a good plan for my care going forward.
