Open and Affordable Dental Aurora South

Negative experience: I started services with this dental company a few months ago. My first two appointments with them were relatively pleasant so it is unfortunate that I feel compelled to write this after my last cleaning. I was scheduled for a right side deep cleaning and two small fillings at 1pm. They took a while to bring me back and we talked for a few minutes before starting the numbing process at 1:20PM. By 1:25PM they were done with the numbing process and left the room letting me know we will get started in a little bit. It wasn’t until 1:52PM that someone else came in the room to begin the cleaning. This was not the doctor or hygienist that I was scheduled with that day. I let know her know I’m a little upset that I’ve been waiting this long with no communication on what was happening. She just let me know she’s just helping out and I am not her original patient. She started the deep cleaning right at 2PM. During the cleaning she was rough and inconsiderate. She had me hold the suction, and maybe I wasn’t holding it right because she switched to having it lay on my chest. This would’ve been fine but every time she put it back down she practically tossed it on me. Between that and the fact that she pinch my lips multiple times, scratched my face with the dental pic and smushed my glasses against my face multiple times throughout the cleaning - this experience was incredibly unpleasant. At 2:20PM she stopped the cleaning to “give me a break” and said she would be “right back”. It wasn’t until 2:42PM that she passed by the room to let me know again she “will be right back”. At 2:46PM she returned to finish the cleaning. She did a few things and by 2:50PM she deemed me all cleaned. The original doctor I was scheduled with returned to the room around 2:58PM to start the fillings. She started the fillings at 3:00PM on the dot and by 3:08PM I was all done. I was there for over 2hours from my original scheduled time and only 30mins of that time was an actual service provided. While I understand things happen and maybe there was a scheduling mishap but the lack of communication or regard for my time shows a lack of consideration and respect for me as a person. I could’ve had a bad reaction to the numbing and they would’ve never known. Or maybe I had to go to work, school, etc. later. It should never take over 2hrs to clean HALF of someone’s mouth and 2 baby fillings. Just overall very disrespectful and unpleasant experience. Will likely not be returning.

Fantastic experience: I Usually don't leave reviews But today I will leave one for Tara, who I felt went above and beyond on my teeth cleaning, I felt she did a very detailed work, I'm very satisfied. I've scheduled my next cleaning arround her schedule and requested for her to do my cleaning. I Highly recommend you try Tara to do your next teeth cleaning. You won't be disappointed!

It was such a quick and great experience, Im excited about my follow-up, lol... Fantastic experience: I found this dentist office just by a Google search and I have been really satisfied. The staff makes you feel comfortable and create a happy environment which is totally what you want to have when visiting the dentist! I’ve had a few visits this far and I can honestly say they have been the best dentist experiences I’ve ever had. Exam, x-rays and getting fillings fixed are not always fun but the hygienists and the Dentists that I’ve interacted with (Dr. Dinkel and Dr. Fay) have made these appointments great with their fun personalities, good vibes and readiness to help!

Fantastic experience: As a 7 year old child I was treated very bad by a dentist and was very afraid of them for years, and to this day at 74 still am. Needed some work done and my son had got me to see Dr Dinlel. She was very kind and patient with me. She got a first had look at my fright, as I suffer from head tremors and she saw my head about to bounce off my shoulders. She calmed me and was able to get the work I needed done. Fantastic experience: I have been a loyal patient for several years, and today I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Fopma. She was incredibly thorough throughout the entire process, and I must say, the deep cleaning she performed on my teeth was the best I have ever experienced! I've had deep cleanings in the past, but nothing compares to the level of care and attention I received today. It was surprisingly enjoyable! Fantastic experience: I have been a patient at Open and Affordable for almost three years now and their customer service is outstanding! I want to give a shout out to Selma, who went out of her way to help our family recoup $1000 from our healthcare flex spending plan. She helped me with filling out my forms, finding the exact service dates and was able to have the dentist sign them in less that 20 minutes. She is a rockstar, thank you so much Selma!!!!!!

Negative experience: Unprofessional office. Dr tinkle doo little is horrible not only at her job but always cuts corners. She also failed to give the irs my wife’s w2 and caused us a huge delay on our tax refund. Would not recommend this place.

Negative experience: Paid for a root can for my husband. They did it and when they finished told him that they didn’t get it all the way out and would have to do it again. I’ve never heard of this and have talked to many dental care specialists that have stated this is not ok, not normal, and bad practice. Will not be returning.

Fantastic experience: I had an emergency appt to fix my two front teeth that had chipped. They were able to squeeze me in pretty immediately and I really appreciate that. The front receptionist are always so extremely kind. I was taken care of by Louis and JJ. They walked me through every single step, making sure that I was comfortable. I seriously could not be happier with how my teeth turned out. I will continue to make the drive from Colorado Springs because this office is just unbeatable when it comes to customer service.

Fantastic experience: Between the friendly, flexible staff and the affordable care for patients without insurance, we had an excellent experience here! I plan to schedule future dental procedures at this location. I'd love to see the x-ray machine located in a more accessible area and to have language interpretation available in future if improvements are ever on the table.

Fantastic experience: I had an excellent experience with this dental office after avoiding the dentist for years. The entire staff is kind, friendly, knowledgeable and professional. This includes the front desk, phone demeanor, and the assistants, Bella and Emilio. Made me feel welcome with their non-judgmental and relaxed approach. Dr Morcos decided I needed a molar extraction, and did it immediately in my first visit. He did such a great job, the shots were nearly painless and I’ve not needed any ibuprofen or pain killers even though it was a very large tooth pulled. I’d highly recommend this wonderful dental clinic to anyone.

Negative experience: I have horrible horrible anxiety, and I had to get a tooth pulled unfortunately. Shania and Dr. Dinkel were able to calm my nerves. Thank you! Update; I was told by comfort Dental that I had a crack down my tooth and needed to get it pulled, I wanted a second opinion. I went in an was very pleased at first everything went smoothly the first appointment. Today marks 7 days later, I’m in severe pain. I’m a tough cookie, and try to hold off on just going in for silly things. After suffering with severe pain for a week straight I asked my husband to just please call and set up an appointment for me to make sure something was horribly wrong. Set up an appointment for today at noon, go in and we waited for 50 minutes in the waiting room watching at least 7 people go in before me. I used to work at a dental office which actually caused my anxiety with dentistry, why I hold off on going. Now I feel completely defeated and I never wish anyone to deal with this. I’m still suffering from pain and just don’t know what to do. I pray there isn’t something terribly wrong! Do your due diligence , and read all reviews before winding up in the same situation as me.

Negative experience: I’ve come here a few times in 2024 the place was absolutely amazing for the first half, I met Dr Batres Dr Tosh and Dr Morcos súper well informed doctors and great assistants however I can see there s been changes and I can only say what a shame. The front gentleman Brandon was rude and unreasonable with me multiple times, for not being able to confirm my appointments because the need to have him repeat his words but I have severe hearing problems and I don’t appreciate the belittling. Unfortunately I’m looking for a new dentist though I am sadden at how good this place used to be

Fantastic experience: I always have a good experience here, besides the incredible dentist and hygienists, even the front desk girl Mary Ellen was so adorable and helpful. Honestly, I could barely see her over that desk she’s so tiny!! They need to get her a taller chair. Can’t recommend enough!

Fantastic experience: Today I had an appointment my anxiety was on 10 when walked in the building because I had 2 bad experiences with 2 different dentists but when I met Doc Fopma she seen that I was nervous and she mad me feel so relaxed and comfortable I forget her assistant name (I'm sorry) but she was very nice constantly asking if I was alright for the first time in my life I'm not afraid to go to my next appointment. She's the best(Thnk ya'll so much for making me feel so comfortable)

Fantastic experience: Patient for 6 years: bi-annual cleanings, 2 wisdom teeth extractions. I am always happy, comfortable and satisfied with the service and care. Staff is knowledgeable, pleasant and helpful. The facilities are clean and well-maintained. Whether the care is from a seasoned doctor or a new assistant (like Maria!), it is always high quality and even fun. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Fantastic experience: I’d like to start off by saying Dr. Bell is absolutely fantastic at what she does, and the entire team at this location are so kind and understanding. I hadn’t seen a dentist in 5 years, and I struggle with pretty intense anxiety over dental work. I knew I would need quite a bit of work done, and it took a lot to not bail on my appointment. In my consultation, I knew this office was the one I would feel comfortable with! All of my X-rays were shown to me, described in-depth, and all of my questions about my treatment plan were answered. I was allowed to look at my treatment plan, and decide at what pace I wanted it completed at. I recently had a crown done, and both Dr. Bell and her assistant were patient with me when I needed breaks, and made it a point to consistently check in with how I was feeling and how my pain level was. I received as much anaesthetic as I needed, and I never felt judged for my fear. If you struggle with dental anxiety, this is the place for you!

Fantastic experience: Every dentist I’ve seen at this location has been wonderful. I highly recommend. Everyone is kind and makes me feel so comfortable. I’m someone who gets nervous at the dentist because I’ve had so many bad interactions… never here. I have only had good experiences. Dr. Fay and Dr. Dinkel are both spectacular.

Fantastic experience: Recently I had my wisdom teeth removed by another dental company. Shortly after, I noticed an awful stench and terrible pain coming from one of my extraction sites. I called the oral surgeon's office twice complaining about this, and I visited a local urgent care. Each time I was told that I was fine, and to just rinse my extraction sites to remove any food. When the pain became worse I started looking for emergency dental offices to find someone who could tell me what is going on. Open and Affordable Dental was able to see me within an hour and a half of calling me, and within 20 mins of walking into the building they found that I had dry socket and treated me on the spot. For the first time in a week I was not in constant pain, and I only had to pay $28 as a self-pay patient. This office is extremely reliable, empathetic, and flexible for emergency visits. If I could give 6 stars I would.

Fantastic experience: I had a massive infection that ended in a tooth being extracted a few weeks ago. Today was my follow up with Dr. Mario Marcos and DA Steph. I had 2 fillings, they both made it so much less stressful by explaining things and interacting with me on a personal level, not just as another patient. Won’t see any other dentist and would love to keep DA Steph at every visit if possible. 5 is just not enough stars. Thank you all!! Samantha

Fantastic experience: I’ve been coming here for years while living on the front range and then tried out a local dentist in Buena Vista after moving. I was disappointed with their service in BV and decided to drive all the way back to Aurora just to come to this office. After returning, I had a wonderful experience with the dental assistant Ashley and was blown away with how jolly and kind Dr Dinkel was. Her positive energy is contagious and extrapolates through her support staff. I’ll be back again, the drive is worth the service. -Trevor

Fantastic experience: I'm terrified of the dentist, but I had an infection, and had to go. I got so lucky finding this place! Dr. Bell was the first to see me, and set the tone for how kind and caring they are here. I've been back several times since, and Brandon at the desk is like a warm blanket to calm me down each time. Noah is very knowledgeable but still comforting about it. Katie was an absolute artist with my filling. You can't even tell it's there! And Dr. Fay is not only incredible at her job, but one of the most compassionate people I have ever met. I've gotten teary-eyed leaving the last two times because they are so amazing. I hope it comes across that this place is miles above any dentist I've been to before, and there aren't enough words to thank them, but I hope this goes a small way to helping them as much as they've helped me.
