Fantastic experience: I came in for a broken tooth with exposed nerves that was excruciatingly painful. They helped me get set up very quickly and got me taken care. I am incredibly thankful for all of the people here from the front desk whom got everything going for me, to the gentleman that helped with my xrays, post op and every thing else, and the dentist whom was very quick and efficient. I appreciate this location so much.

Negative experience: I was under the impression when scheduling my appointment that they would be able to help my situation as I am in pain and this is supposed to be an emergency dentist but they did absolutely nothing for me. Nor did they offer any solution or mitigation to help my issue, but instead they referred me out to another office that has no available appointments for over a month. Which I don’t understand because the dental assistant told me they were capable of doing the procedure there, the doctor in office just did not want to do it. Doctor was in the room maybe 5 minutes before just saying they will refer me elsewhere. I am still in pain, was offered no solution except to go somewhere else, and now they are going to charge my insurance for a comprehensive exam when they literally did nothing for me except take X-rays. They seemed more concerned with my future dental plans than offering an actual solution for the issue at hand. Everyone I interacted with was kind and respectful, but I would not recommend this place as I don’t have a positive opinion about the care I did not receive. Save your insurance benefits/money and go elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: Best dental care I’ve ever had. Got me right in, the dentist numbed me up with topical the I didn’t even feel the injection when she did the local anesthetic then she drilled and had it filled in no time I was out the door in just over an hour!

Negative experience: The dentist doesn’t really listen to what you want done or can afford- it was good work but they said I owed them an amount and when I went back to get the bridge put on once it came in. They lady at the desk said that I overpaid by $700 but to get the money I had to contact corporate which you can’t- no number. I actually had the staff say good luck it’s their biggest issue to get them to pay back for overpayment. No corporate number. I called again to have them look me up and how much they owed back to me and they answered the phone and said hold on I’m not at the desk and proceeded to put me on hold for over 30 minutes as they knew that I wanted my money and they placed me on hold as not to help me but so I would eventually give up. How does a business get away with not paying customers for overpayment payments? I notice on reviews that they never answer these bad reviews about money. I would like a response to this with a direct corporate number to a live person about my bill and to refund me for the $700 over payment or I have a couple cavities that they can treat me and provide me service for whatever they owe back to me? Hey owner of business how does we get paid back for overpayment? What’s a number for an actual billing and insurance corporate account person to get resolved??? Please share with all the other similar reviews who also got overcharged. And don’t say that you don’t have a record of me as you did to others.

Fantastic experience: My situation is is such that it may be futile. But the very kind dr humored me and we attempted to glue my peg tooth back in. The male dental technician whose sister works at another dental office, was very helpful to get an appt at her location. And the lady who helped the dr put my tooth back was great too! Great experience all around! Thank you all, very much!

Fantastic experience: Was in and out. Dr pulled my wisdom tooth that had grown in sideways in under 5mins. People in office are nice and polite. Would recommend to anyone.

Negative experience: I had an emergency visit here in May of 2024. Great staff, they got me in and out quickly and it was a great experience. Giving 2 stars because they charged me, then after the visit my insurance paid them again. They have owed me a refund for almost 9 months. I’ve reached out multiple times, they confirm they owe me the portion my insurance paid, but never actually send a check. I think the office and the staff are wonderful! I just think 9 months to refund money owed to me is crazy. Edit*** It has now been a year and 5 months. I have called, been given the run around of “they will let a supervisor know” and “billing will be calling you shortly”. Still absolutely nothing. Avoid this office if at all possible!

Negative experience: Was in horrible pain they wouldn’t take any kind of payment besides what they wanted let me sit there scavenging for it then don’t accept chime, or cash app I got charged 50 bucks for them to wiggle my tooth

Fantastic experience: I had a crown break in half and was able to get in the next day to get it looked at. I’m very self conscious about my teeth, but the dentist and dental assistant addressed my problem, didn’t make me feel bad, and overall made me feel really comfortable during my visit.

Fantastic experience: I paid 159to be seen and they got me in and took more X-rays then my dentist office and they got me the antibiotics I needed for my tooth infection plus they got me a plan started very happy with their services

Negative experience: Didnt send my prescription out to my pharmacy after pulling tooth and having a bad infection, so now im extra sick bevause they cant do their jobs right. Also was told by dentist they were gonna send me home with some mouth wash medicated the helper person said they arent gonna give me anything. Do not recommend.

Fantastic experience: Staff was very helpful and kind. I needed a tooth extracted because the crown came off. Aspen Dental said I needed a physical for a medical release before they would treat me. I was able to get in to Emergency Dental same day and get the extraction.

Fantastic experience: This is the second time I’ve been treated here and once again I’m thrilled with the care I received. First and foremost, the front desk staff took care of me the second I walked in and assured me she would make sure she did what she could to ensure my insurance would cover my exam, and they did! The dental assistant was also very kind and gentle with my X-rays. When I finally met with Dr. Spurgeon, he was very kind and made sure that I understood my options. Another dental office advised me I needed 3 extractions, one of which was to be a wisdom tooth, however Dr. Spurgeon showed me exactly what he was seeing and I don’t even have a wisdom tooth on that side. He educated me in terms I could understand on the benefits of a root canal vs. extraction and how much of my bite force and function would be affected should I choose extraction. They quickly referred me to have the root canal done, and walked me through what my insurance covers. Very pleasant experience for an unpleasant situation.

Fantastic experience: I had my wisdom teeth removed at another clinic, and the doctor who did them damaged one of my other teeth. When I tried to call them I was told that they couldn't get me in till the following Tuesday, almost 4 days after my surgery. I called Emergency Dental Care USA and the fit me in the very next day. Not only were they able to put on a temporary crown to protect my tooth and provide some pain relief, they were able to place an order in for a full crown that same day. The appointment was also super fast as I was only there for about and hour and a half. I was very happy with my visit here and will definitely be recommending them to my family in friends in the future should the need arise.

Negative experience: I had a toothe break off of my dentures on a Saturday. This was the only place I could find open so I called and asked if they could help.me with it. The oerson who answered the phone said she couldn't say for sure, I would need the Dr to look at it. She asked if I wanted to come. They got me in right away which is the only reason for the 2 stars. I get there and they tell me without insurance it will be $90+ just to see the dentist. It was for partial xray and exam. They have yiu pay before younsee the dentist. Waited maybe 5 minutes and was taken to a room. The dentist assistant had me remove my denture then the dentist came in. Took one glance and said we cant do anything today, it would have to go to a lab. They didn't take trays. I started to leave and then asked if they could smoothe three edge down so I didn't cut my mouth as there was a sharp edge. The dentist took about 3 min to do that. On the way iut he had started to say what I thought was no charge but changed his mind since he did the smoothing. I asked if I could at least use the $90+ payment on a future apt and at first said no then said we'll 30 since no xray was taken. I said all of this to say, if you have a denture issue don't go here. The staff should have known there was nothing they could do for me.

Fantastic experience: They did great! I went to a dental in ankeny smiles. They were terrible didn’t care or test anything when I said had pain. They got me in, all staff nice, and they did all the steps like cold testing, picking etc to see if there was worst! They referred me to a location close and not 2 hours away. They did great and all they cool (: if you have any problem, need help asap they are your go to!

Fantastic experience: They helped me out! I had an abscessed tooth and was in a whole lot of pain, they got me in for an appointment later in the day and accepted my insurance. The front desk receptionist was very nice and while the doctor seemed quite busy he still took time to explain to me what was up with my tooth and what I should do next going forward. He got an antibiotic prescription and some stronger anti inflammatory sent in that day and I was able to pick it up and I felt so much better the next day when I woke up! If I ever have another tooth emergency I’ll call here first next time!

Negative experience: Everything was explained pretty well until I went to fill out my payment plan with Sunbit. Which they don’t accept chime to make payments with. So after I paid 100$ for an x-ray I had to leave because I couldn’t pay them 400 dollars at that moment for a single tooth extraction. Wish I had known about Sunbit not accepting chime then I wouldn’t of wasted my money or time.

Fantastic experience: Needed two extractions done ASAP, they got me in same day. Front desk receptionist was great, guided us through the pricing with our insurance included. (Total Cost for two extractions and xray $450) Doctor and assistant made me very comfortable when going over our options. The extraction process itself was very smooth, no pain. Was in and out in under an hour total.

Fantastic experience: I have had pretty negative experiences at the Dentist / Orthodontist prior to my visit here, so I was pretty hesitant to go in even though I was experiencing a lot of pain from tooth decay. I went in and my perception of the dentist was completely changed. The two ladies that did my xrays were extremely patient and calm even though I have a very bad gag reflex, and my dentist listened to my concerns and made me feel 100x better about the situation. I left with an appointment to get some fillings and smiling even though nothing had gotten fixed yet. Thank you!!

Negative experience: Horrible Scamming place!! They're are here to get your money. I have the best insurance you can get 100% coverage on everything, they proceeded to tell me it would cost $400+ to pull two teeth that needed removed. Being a Friday my regular dentist wasn't available all weekend I had found this place online, waited 2 hours to be told my insurance won't cover the cost after he had already poked and hammered my bad teeth, better call ahead and make sure you're covered before going here !

Positive experience: The receptionist was so nice and helpful when it came to finding out what insurance covered and filling out info. The assistant was also nice she kept asking if I was doing okay during my procedure and was talking in through some of the steps. The main dentist he didn’t speak much at all and it would have been nice If he would have told me he was going to be using loud tools instead of just turn them on and scarring me, I was full on shaking during that part as I had no idea what was happening. If you have insurance and need an after hour dentist I do recommend as I paid only $110 for a tooth extraction with insurance and x ray.

Fantastic experience: The old crown on my tooth came loose last night. I called this morning and got an appointment the same afternoon. The dentist was able to resolve my problem quickly and painlessly. Plus, he was super nice. And the staff were all stellar!

Negative experience: I sadly had a terrible experience here. I was having extreme pain in my tooth/mouth/face. I walked in, and immediately, all they wanted to talk about was the money they wanted. I was in so much pain, I said I didn't care about the cost since they were one of the only places open on a weekend. The lady at the desk was very snippy, and the dental assistants were sitting on their phones behind the desk. The assistant was friendly when doing the xrays. Finally, the dentist comes in and doesn't even greet me or acknowledge my niece sitting patiently in the corner with me. He never looked at me when he talked to me, so half the time I thought he was talking to the assistant. He did a cold-test on my teeth, and there was zero empathy for the amount of pain I was in. When I reacted to the pain, they just stared at me with blank faces. There was some weird material on my teeth they did the cold-tests on, and they didn't bother to rinse me out or clean it up, so I had to pick it out myself. The dentist said he was referring me somewhere and that there's nothing they can do. I had to beg for either pain meds or an antibiotic since I was in tears from the pain. The nurse said the dentist might send something in. I had to ask MULTIPLE times what they were sending in, and they refused to tell me what exact meds, so it was a surprise to me when I got to the pharmacy. When I got back up front, I hadn't even gotten to the counter yet when they blurted out my total. I asked if they were sending the pain meds in right now, and the lady at the desk yelled back to the dentist, and when I heard him yell back, she just gave me this "did that answer your question?" look. She slapped the receipt on the counter and walked off. No good bye, thanks for coming. Nothing. It was appalling service. Their website lists all these dental services they do, but I don't even know why I'm being referred out for services they claim to do on their website. Nothing was explained to me. They got me in and out as fast as possible and they got my money which is clearly all they cared about.

Fantastic experience: So I went in with a broken tooth explained to them my fears because I’ve been to a dentist who messed my teeth up and left me in pain….but the experience I had here was great I couldn’t feel anything, and every one I had contact with was nice and friendly.

Fantastic experience: I was in excruciating pain due to a busted tooth. They were the only place with availability and gave me an appointment for 8pm. I called and they were kind enough to let me know they could get me in 4 hours early. I came in and the examined me for 100 dollars without insurance and gave me my options. Got my tooth pulled and pain gone. Couldn't recommend them highly enough. Wonderful experience for something that had me miserable.

Negative experience: Review My 11 year old fell and had a luxation (dislocated tooth) late Friday afternoon. The tooth was protruding above the rest of the teeth on the bottom. We contacted our dentist who told us it needed to be pushed back into place and splinted. Unfortunately he was out of town. We found this office on Google. The staff and dentist were very kind. My son had X-rays, however we were told that pushing it back into place would not be done. However, it says right on their website this is something they do! The tooth was then splinted in place, still protruding from his mouth. We were asked to see an orthodontist the next week. This visit cost $589 out-of-pocket. The next morning at 8:00 the dentist called to check on our son, which was nice. However he said if we came back for a second visit, he could push the tooth back into place. We were disappointed in this clinic and that the standard of care was not performed. On top of that we were charged nearly $600 then asked to come back for what should have been done the first time. We would not go back to this office. Thankfully our family dentist came in on a Saturday to put the tooth back in place.

Positive experience: Katherine is great! Very kind compassionate and LISTENED to my concerns. I told the same story to the receptionist and Katherine about going to a dentist Thursday and them referring me to an oral surgeon who had NO appointments for ten days (9 surgeons and 4 locations). They also told me they did not take my insurance. I had another tooth causing me great pain, and still when the dentist came in he wanted to pull the one I had Xrayed previously I told him there was another tooth causing me pain and that's why I was there. He was quick to want to extract 2 teeth. Didn't listen well and left exam room. Katherine assured me he was excellent but I wasn't able because of numerous other health problems and LIFE problems. I left and hope to get my insurance issues straightened out because they are beyond nightmare ish!!! Sorry but I feel like I speak another language sometimes and I have little trust in any provider as I have been sexually assaulted in a hospital AND HERE in Iowa by a PD Sgt in my home!! I guess I will be back if I feel my teeth need immediately extracted. Thanks for Katherine and her "holding my hand" .SHE is awesome! And LISTENED after taking 3 xrays, 2 of the wrong tooth. PS I have terrible dentist office anxiety! Childbirth was easy as pie compared to tooth pain! Thanks, you wanted an honest review. You got one!

Positive experience: Only 3.5 so 4 stars. Because they didn't tell me the cost of a single extraction until I already owed them for the exam. $394.00 per tooth. Last time I paid for a single tooth extraction it was $75.00. They are An Emergency Dentist Not just named it so, know they are expensive going in. They did get 4 stars for the work they did, and polite people.

Fantastic experience: I really like how all the staff we really nice and not judgemental. I got to show them their first pregnant tooth lol. Would definitely recommend and will return if ever needed. I was also given a referral to get further help that I needed.

Negative experience: Beware: I was charged up front for the service I received of $2,236. Then they filed my Aetna and they received $1,600. I have been trying since May 16th to get the $1600 refund so they have been paid twice and this is fraud. The receptionist has emailed them numerous times and does not know the name of the corporation or cannot give it to me.. I even have called Aetna about it and all they do is call the dental office who promises to send another email. the dentist did an awesome job of fixing my broken tooth that day and fitting me for a crown. So my problem is not with the service I receive. But they cannot be paid twice for the same service and I have been told that I am not the only person this has happened to.

Negative experience: Went here for an emergency wisdom tooth extraction on Sunday night. Got my tooth out, which I am forever grateful for, but in reflecting and in my post operation recovery, I am having some concerns. First, while my tooth’s root was stuck in my mouth and I was being operated on the staff thought it would be appropriate to horse around, at one point an assistant coming into the room and wrapping her arms around the other from behind as if that’s how they were going to perform my dental surgery, and then having the audacity to look at me and say “you look panicked, don’t worry” while I was watching their behavior. Second, I expressed post surgery that I would not be comfortable taking pain medications and got an unfortunate amount of push back from the doctors and assistants about this request, while my wife said she felt she had to stand up for me and that she was feeling pressured to agree with them. Lastly, the thing I am MOST concerned about. The doctor put me on a steroid, antibiotic, and ibuprofen / acetaminophen regularly, while I am having no pain at the surgery site and have discontinued my ibuprofen and acetaminophen due to stomach aches, I am now vomiting a grey like substance. I have been attempting to reach the doctor all morning, but unfortunately have not been able to get ahold of anyone despite the clinic being open and cannot leave a voicemail due to their voicemail box being full. I don’t know if I just need to reach out to another professional or show up in person at the clinic, but knowing that I paid for this all out of pocket and that most doctors are hesitant to finish others work (will probably just tell me to follow up with the original doctor) I feel like I should be able to contact my surgeon about these legitimate medical concerns.

Fantastic experience: They were great. I got in the same day I called. They took me right in when I got there. Both tech and the dentist were great and got my toothed fixed. Everyone was very nice there. Receptionists were every nice too!

I was in so much pain from a bad cracked tooth but in less than 15 min, including the time to numb up, I was in and out the door. I can’t say enough good things about the staff, from the receptionist to the dental techs and the dentist herself. Negative experience: The female doctor was very unprofessional. I really didn’t want to go to anyone about my tooth, but I knew this location did emergency work. This insensitive prude arrogantly made jokes about my teeth while inspecting them and even jokes that one was “one crunchy chicken sandwich from coming out.” Then her and her nurse laughed unabashedly. The lack of respect was dishonorable. I definitely would t go back.

Positive experience: When in with a lot of pain. They helped me come up with a solution that worked for me. The only reason I took away a star it because the dr. didn't really talk to me nd seemed to focus on my husband. To be fair my husband is very charismatic.

Fantastic experience: Fractured a tooth, was seen by dentist within an hour, confirmed treatment, unable to save tooth. Extracted with great care, affordable and very accommodating! Highly recommend!

Negative experience: My husband paid with debit card on April 9th, payment was shown as paid by ny bank on April 10th. He started getting multiple texts claiming we had not paid! We went and got a printout from our bank showing payment and emailed them the information. Yet again today, May 1st, my husband received yet another email claiming nonpayment! What kind of scam are these people trying to run here? I am looking into whomever I can file a complaint with: BBB, Consumer Protection, etc. Be careful with these people.

Fantastic experience: Came in feeling very stressed as I couldn't get my son to be seen anywhere without a long wait (months) or a 4+ hour drive and he was in pain. Left feeling very blessed. My child was happy and smiling❣️

Fantastic experience: This place is amazing. We traveled 3 hours to get there because there was no place to go on a Saturday evening. My daughter had an infected tooth. They treated us very well. Every single person at that place is friendly and understanding. We are so very grateful for them taking care of us. They made her feel relaxed and her experience was less pain than she thought. Thank you so much guys. Oh, and a side note. They have a little squirrel picnic bench by the window in the one exam room. It’s so cute. While we were there bunny rabbits were having a picnic. How much more of a wholesome place could you find than that?

Fantastic experience: When a tooth of mine starts hurting and needs to come out, I come here! Everyone is so nice and caring. They make you feel welcome even though you are nervous to be there. I don’t like the Novocain shots (nobody does, I know) they hurt like hell sometimes, the assistant is so great at calming you down. I needed that with the shots. I highly recommend this place. It’s quick to get into and they are open late!!

Fantastic experience: The hardest part was the paperwork. Lol These guys are cheap, easy and clean. They had me in and out for an absessed tooth in less than twenty minutes. No worries about insurance. If you have it, great! If not, they'll still take care of you. I couldn't ask for anything better.

Fantastic experience: Called at 9 for a broken tooth because my regular dentist was closed, got in at 10, and immediately got it extracted once they realized it was split down to the root. Whole process took maybe 20 minutes and was a very reasonable price ($80). Doctor got right to it and his staff was very friendly. I was comforted by his assistant who rubbed my hand while I was getting numbed, which was very kind. I’d recommend to anyone who needed urgent care or just a checkup.

Fantastic experience: In office they were efficient, kind, and answered all my questions. I was nervous deciding to pull a tooth or go through a surgical process for access and repair. They were helpful addressing my concerns around both, including costs, and I felt good about the decision I made for me. Over the phone they would not answer most my questions about insurance or checking doctors in network, it may be a national line. Would very much recommend.

Fantastic experience: The Doctor and staff were very courteous and concern with my pain. The Doctor located the pain, gave me options (after the X-ray and exam) and recommended an antibiotic to relieve my pain. I think, what impressed me the most. He really took the time to listen to me. Fantastic experience: They were flexible with my availability since I have odd work hours. Staff was friendly, thorough and professional. I showed up early and they got me right in and was back home within an hour.

Negative experience: I would like to provide a review of this dental clinic, highlighting both the positive and negative aspects of my experience. Initially, I appreciate the clinic’s online appointment scheduling, which was straightforward and user-friendly. Additionally, upon my arrival, I found the staff to be welcoming, the facility to be well-maintained, and the prices to be reasonable. My appointment was scheduled for 12:30 PM, and while I had to wait just over an hour to be seen, I understand that high demand can lead to delays. However, my dissatisfaction arose after the extraction procedure. I was not prescribed antibiotics or pain medication, being advised merely to take regular Tylenol. Unfortunately, a few days later, I developed an infection. When I contacted the clinic, they managed to fit me in quickly, but the dentist I saw from Iowa City was rather unapproachable and did not adequately explain the situation regarding my wound. I was assured that a prescription for antibiotics and a steroid would be sent, but it would not be available until later that evening. Despite my appointment being at 10:30 AM, I received a call seven hours later instructing me to pick up my prescription. Upon arriving at Walgreens, I discovered that no antibiotics had been called in; instead, I found that I had been prescribed ibuprofen and a steroid. Given my medical history of having gastric bypass surgery, I am unable to take ibuprofen, rendering the entire prescription ineffective. Following this, I reached out to the clinic around 4:54 PM to explain the situation, and a staff member assured me that someone would call me back promptly. However, by 9 PM, I had yet to receive a response, and as of 10 AM the following day, I am still waiting. As a business owner managing three enterprises myself, I find this experience disheartening. I believe that clients should never be left without communication, especially when they are in pain. It is crucial for businesses to uphold a standard of care and attention to their clients' needs. If a patient cannot take a specific medication, it is imperative not to prescribe it, and when infections arise, antibiotics should be administered proactively. I hope this clinic can reflect on these points to improve their service and ensure that future patients have a more positive experience. At this juncture, I may need to seek emergency care, which is truly unfortunate after a promising beginning.

Fantastic experience: Dr hindlay was great. Got me in same day for an extraction of a broken tooth and a filling. Very professional. Took time to explain options and answered my questions and concerns.

Positive experience: They were efficient at getting me in and out and treating me quickly and the receptionist was really nice. However, the dentist seemed disinterested and the dental assistant seemed like she was angry I was even there. The dentist would ask me questions and then talk over me before I could respond. While they were efficient with treatment and diagnosis I would have liked to be treated a little more like a person.
