Fantastic experience: 2 of the staff were SUPER friendly and great with my 2 girls. I wasn't told they were going to be separated. I wasn't told I'd hv to choose which 1 to stay with and that I can't walk back n forth to each room. So, that was like a slap in the face bc I found out as it happened. Other than that, I was happy. The receptionist had 1 of my daughter's names incorrect when I made the appointment apparently. Also the receptionist kept calling my daughter a "he" over the phone when I made the appointment.

Negative experience: I came to get an X-ray because I was in pain. I was told I had a wisdom tooth that needed to be removed. They referred me to an oral surgeon and an endocrinologist. The closest dentist was the one who performed the root canal and crown. I’m looking to remove the source of the pain, not do root canals and crowns—those can be done later. I need my wisdom tooth pulled. All they did was prescribe antibiotics for my pain. I’m also planning to file a complaint with the board.

Fantastic experience: I enjoy coming to this dentist office. Everyone is so friendly, the hygenist is always very nice, caring and never rough like the hygenist I use to see in past before coming to Carolina Lakes.

Negative experience: After waiting for almost two months I got there may about 10 minutes after my appointment time which was 12:00 pm coming from Sanford NC they sent me back without looking for a way to get me in not fair.

Negative experience: I will start by saying I’ve avoided oral surgery and the dentist for years getting close to a decade now! I had an abscess I was healing from naturally with oil of oregano oil with black seed oil for natural antibiotics. It actually worked but I was sick and I finally caved to make an appointment with this place for x rays, and a cleaning that turned into a debriding appointment and another referral to oral surgery. Well the hygienist basically insulted me by saying that it was obvious my front tooth was half fake from childhood accidents. As well as I’m missing my left index finger so its very difficult to floss now but she mentioned the disposable flossers and I have them as well as a water flosser to help bc grip and dexterity are common problems after a hand injury. So it’s just frustrating to be talked to like that. She was nice, but I’m sure nobody wants to work on my mouth so that’s ok. Dr. Salam I think was her name just rushed to get rid of teeth that I can’t see anything wrong with, but the one right beside it needs a filling pretty bad as well as a bicuspid on the bottom I’ve been neglecting a filling on. So there was no plan to save anything else and the bone loss wasn’t even noticed by the surgeon until he called this office to ask about tooth #9 I believe. So I’m confused and will get a second opinion somewhere that can do the partials and extractions hopefully! I’m grateful for their help but the referral was worse than the original dental appointment. I will try to find someone willing to help me keep my smile bc it’s really hard to smile with cavities and I don’t want to need 4 front teeth even though they were only going to remove 3. I’m still just concerned and confused. I don’t know how to reverse bone loss but I’ll pray about it!

Fantastic experience: Wonderful people the whole team that helped me was amazing. I was in an out for a dental extraction in less than an hour. I’m currently pregnant and they respected my needs as well as my ob/gyn providers instructions for care regarding what medications could or could not be used. They provided me with adequate numbing before extraction and double shielded us during xray, Rana Salam Was super fast with the actual extraction only took about 7 mins, if that.

Fantastic experience: Wonderful appointment with Amy who skillfully adjusted my relatively new lower denture so that it did not hurt my lower right side any longer. She is very precise in her work, and I am so glad she is my “go to adjuster”! I wasn’t able to wear it for a week, due to the pain. She also advised me how to care for the “very sore spot” to enable it to fully heal and other helpful advice. Thank you, Amy, for your amazing expertise and knowledge and your lovely kindness.

Negative experience: The dental hygienist did an excellent job, and I have no complaints about the quality of care. However, the scheduling process is frustrating. They seem to have too many patients which results in appointments being booked 8.5 months out. What happened to the standard six month interval for cleaning? This means my dental insurance is only covering one cleaning a year, which feels unfair. If I want to stick with the standard six-month schedule, I have to call and hope for a cancellation. I’ve been a loyal patient for over ten years since they first opened, but this situation feel like a slap in the face. Loyalty should mean something, but apparently, it doesn’t here.

Positive experience: Good dentists and hygienists there. Never had to wait long to be called back. My only issue is that they have to many patients and not enough staff. Therefore, my 6 months cleaning couldn't be scheduled in 6 months and I have to wait 8 months to be seen again.

Fantastic experience: Everyone in the office was very friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. They worked as a Team and seemed to enjoy being a teammate. The Hygienist was very thorough and informative. She was also made me comfortable with what she was doing.

Fantastic experience: The clinic itself is great. But the wait time is ridiculous. My six month cleaning was scheduled out 9 months. My husband chipped tooth, when he called for a appointment they could not see him for 2 months. Not sure if they need more staff or what. He ended up being seen the next day at a different office. They lost out on business.

Negative experience: this dentist is terrible. so i went there to have 3 teeth pulled well all of the sudden they could only do two and with how my insurance works i can only use my dental insurance once a year. as you know getting a tooth pulled is not cheap without insurance. well the lady starts working on my teeth she gets one out and i start having a bad reaction to the numbing medicine cause apparently there is a type of adrenaline in those shots. so my whole body goes into full on shakes to where she cant even work on my teeth. at the time i didn't know those shots had adrenaline in them so im all worried i dont know whats going on cause the dentist never told me the shots have adrenaline in them they tried to make it seem like oh do you have anxiety. they say well i can give you valume to help which would have actually stopped the shaking then all of a sudden oh no we can't do that. i left to go to the emergency cause i was shaking that bad and the dentist didn't tell me what was happening so i was worried. i left with one tooth pulled and my other tooth cracked in half off where she started to work on it she broke a peice off but had to stop cause my body was convulsing. now the half cracked off tooth is getting infected and the other one that they suddenly couldn't pull is also infected and im in a ton of pain cause i dont just have an extra thousand dollars to have them worked on right now.

Fantastic experience: I have been coming here for a very long time. I have had great reviews and bad reviews. I had to cancel my last cleaning appointment because I was in the hospital. They rescheduled me but it was for 7 months later! I asked to be on the cancellation list. Months went by and didn’t hear anything. I called back and spoke to a very nice lady. I am a bone marrow transplant patient and required to have a teeth cleaning twice a year because of being immunocompromised. She said she would personally try to look out for a cancellation for me. She said she could actually fit me in that day and offered me a cancellation appointment! I am very grateful for people like her and she definitely deserves a 5 star review. I know they are way too busy when it takes 7 months to get a cleaning appointment. But the staff there are usually always very nice and my hygienist was also very kind and did an excellent job. She also gets a 5 star review! I even asked to see her again in 6 months.

Fantastic experience: I am not the biggest fan of going to the dentist and put it off far longer than I should. I called last week to make an appointment and was able to get in this week! The front desk staff were kind and accommodating. But the main reason for this 5 star review is because of my hygienist, Linden. She was so friendly and immediately put me at ease. She explained everything throughout the process of my x-rays and cleaning and gave me advice without any shame or judgement. Her knowledge and kindness inspired me to get a water flosser within a few hours of leaving my appointment, so I can better care for my teeth between cleanings. This experience with her as my hygienist made this hands down the best experience I’ve ever had at a dental office.

Positive experience: Usually I don’t have any bad experience when it comes to getting my teeth cleaned. But this time my experience wasn’t the best The woman that cleaned my mouth was to rough and a tad bit rude. So she was cleaning my teeth with a dental probe and I wasn’t trying to say anything but it was to a point where she repeatedly kept poking my gums with it so when I flinched and tried adjusting my mouth, she literally looked me dead into my eyes and said Stop. And it was a firm STOP. Like ma’am you are hurting me and I tried telling her after that I got poked but she wouldn’t listen to me. She’s an older woman who said she’s been working in the dentist industry for years. Now I don’t want her to get in trouble I would just advise her to be more gentle and be a little more kind that’s all. And I didn’t really enjoy my visit from when I got there to when I Left it wasn’t the bestbut overall this place is a great place it was just her .

Fantastic experience: This place is always kept clean, the receptionist was nice, friendly and very helpful. The doctors and nurses are so nice and gentle. I love the atmosphere. And they get you out of there within a hour tops.

Negative experience: I had to reschedule due to being sick. I was told they are rescheduling for March 2026. I am a regular patient that goes every 6 months I’m upset to say the least

Negative experience: Never have had so much pain for a filling ever! The people this time around were super friendly , which was a nice contrast from last time I was there. But my mouth hurts so bad its radiating to my ear just from one filling.

Positive experience: They are very friendly. But they didn't give me a list of oral surgeons that take medicaid. Their list only have dentists that doesn't do wisdom teeth. So you have to do research and there isn't anyone in Sanford that does them with medicaid. So Cary it is! Just very frustrating!!!!

Fantastic experience: May daughter has a permanent bottom retainer in place and she said this is the first time any dentist has actually went under and cleaned all the gunk out and she feels the difference and how clean her teeth are. Plus all the staff is so nice.

Negative experience: The staff was nice but when I got my tooth pulled out today the lady who did it at the end was very rude and told me that if I got dry socket that I would basically, be out of luck when that's not true at all... and she really needs to rethink her attitude.

Negative experience: If I could put 0 stars I would put it I don't recommend this place at all, grab a minute to read my comment before going to this place the reason why I definitely don't recommend it is because today 06/17/25 I took my son to this clinic because he has pain in his tooth and his cheek was inflamed I trusted that they could help me it was the opposite Dr. Rana Salam examined my children and it didn't even take 5 minutes and then she said she didn't know the reason why the child had pain she didn't know how much medication he could give a 7-year-old boy she told me that I would have to take him somewhere else because she didn't know. I asked myself whether or not she's a doctor or not I didn't understand she was in a hurry to dispatch us and leave she didn't take the time to explain more about my son's problem

Fantastic experience: The dental technician was great her name is Linden she was outstanding however she had a student who seemed as if she was lost. She tried to floss my bridge as if they were real molars, and asked me if I had issues flossing. I told her that is a bridge and you need to floss differently.. she was sweet though

Positive experience: Overall I think they do a great job and I know that it is just an underserved community. However, I had no problem getting in as a new patient but as an established patient they are consistently booking 8 months out for the 6 month cleanings and if you have to reschedule they will reschedule you for 8 months out from when you call. It gives the appearance that they focus more on new patients than established.

Negative experience: I went in to see this dentist to have a tooth extracted, very painful experience, then was going back to have two fillings done and the day before my appointment they change the price to almost double, not sure why they would do that but I'm definitely going to see a different dentist.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Pak, Amy, Dawn and the receptionists were so kind.and helpful. My daughter came with me for an extraction and she couldn't believe how wonderful all were. Amy held my hand during extraction for such comfort, Dr. Pak talked me through it and kept checking to see I was ok, and Dawn just came in for the levity of laughter and smiles. You won't go wrong going to see them. A delightful and professional and caring staff.

Negative experience: I left there feeling like I was passed off...I know it was because I have Medicaid. My family and I have been going there since the day they opened with Tricare dental insurance. Back then they treated me like family. Yesterday I left in tears because Dr. Salam came in, looked at my teeth for less than a minute and told me there was nothing she could do for me. Then I was told because I'm on Medicaid they recommend extraction of ALL teeth and get dentures. I will be taking my family to a new dentist after how I was treated yesterday. I know for a fact if I still had Tricare dental insurance they would have given me a treatment plan.I am also going to turn them into the board for discrimination. I hope EVERYONE is able to read this message.

Positive experience: I think my experience with the Dentist was great, what wasn’t great was the cost to save my two front teeth due to Healthy Blue not covering crowns for adults over 21 and the Dentist knowing this didn’t even ask or see if there was a way to assist me in solving my issue, no payment plan, no down payment just a piece of paper with the treatment plan and bye. Either I come up with $5040 OOP or inevitably lose my smile teeth. I was completely devastated at the end of the visit. Left feeling like I had only one option which was to be toothless. I feel let down by the insurance etc.

Negative experience: The dental work done was satisfactory, but I was asked to get up out of the dentist chair to go pay, then I returned to the dentist chair... which I thought was odd. Then at the end of my visit the receptionist snapped at me when I asked for clarification on my next visit. This was my one and only visit, so it could have been an oddity, but I have never returned.

Fantastic experience: I picked the location most convenient to my home and was not disappointed! Every encounter with the staff was kind. I was given a clear plan for my care and will be bringing my little next week for their first cleaning!

Positive experience: I was very pleased with the overall cleaning experience. Staff was very nice and put me at ease. My only complaint is that they only make 6 month appointments. I require every 4 months cleaning and they couldn't accommodate me. They have up to date technology.

Negative experience: I did not have a good experience. I’m 37 weeks pregnant which I disclosed upon making my appointment. When I got to my appointment I was told that unless I was willing to “double wrap” my belly and have X-rays taken I would have to reschedule for after I gave birth. I offered to have my recent X-rays sent over from my previous dentist and was told that would not work, it is their policy to only do exams if they do their own X-rays. When I asked why I was told “it’s just our policy” I was not given any logical reason for this policy but was instead asked why I could not schedule for after the birth “don’t you have someone who can watch the baby?” This is an inappropriate question for many reasons. I continued to press for an answer as to why they couldn’t clean my teeth today since I have very recent x rays available and at that point the hygienist got rude and suggested I just go back to my previous dentist. The policy is obviously so they can bill insurance for the X-rays. Money is their top priority; the way I was treated shows that they care very little about customer care.

Negative experience: I wish I could leave 0 stars. They kicked me out of their office mid-appointment because my baby started to cry because it was “distracting.” The hygienist called me a terrible mother and that I was awful for bringing my baby there. They also told me to only reschedule an appointment for when I had childcare. No mom should be made to feel bad for having to bring her child somewhere, especially for healthcare. I pray that no mom ever gets treated that way again!

Fantastic experience: This was the best experience I've ever had at the dentist and I am in my late fourties. My check in girl was so sweet and informative kasie just great. Then my girl who did my cleaning is spectacular Tasha so knowledgeable about her job absolutely no pain incredible. Positive experience: Treatment seems to go great, but I feel like the office is taking on so many patients, they can't best service the existing patients. My family can no longer schedule (2) cleanings in a year's time. My son just went yesterday, and was scheduled out 8 months to his next appt. My last appt was supposed to be the same day as his, and it was rescheduled and thrown off. As a family, it's easier to get same day appts, but we can't even attempt that. We may be looking for a new dentist office.

Lyndon was my hygienist and she is AWESOME if you are ever uncomfortable with the dentist, she is so sweet and makes it stress-free and even went really gently on the flossing part. My doctor was great. And shoutout to the front desk staff who were so nice and accommodating too :) edit: also forgot to mention that I appreciated the amount of really good patient education they did for me too in that short period of time!

Positive experience: They called, texted and emailed me about my daughter's upcoming appointment, but did not let me know I would have to pay anything for her visit until I got there. I told them I was not prepared because I was not aware and asked to be billed for the $37. They told me no and that they could reschedule her appointment if i can't pay before the appointment. Mind you I always pay my bills and had a $0 balance. I went ahead and paid. Aside from that, I am due for my 2nd cleaning in December and they told me they would be closed for 2 weeks around the time I am due and I will possibly miss my 2nd cleaning that is covered 100% by my insurance. I used to love this place but I feel like their customer service and care for patients has changed.

Negative experience: Paid $99.00. I discussed 4 issues I had with my teeth. They took 5 x-rays of 2 teeth and said they could do no more examining of the other 2 issues because this was an initial visit. The dentist came in for about 2 minutes and said I’d have to schedule another appointment for them to look at anything else (). I think my investment yielded very limited returns. Doubt I’ll go back.

Negative experience: I will no longer be using your services. My daughter has allergies and you recommended she get gold fillings at the dental school but wouldn't assist with the referral, you also said you couldn't use glass ionimer for her fillings and said you couldn't give her a mouth guard for her TMJ. We spoke with another dentist who was flabbergasted you claimed you don't use glass ionimer, they said they use it daily and it's quite common. My wife needed multiple crowns and other work done until you did one crown and then suddenly she didn't need any more of the previously recommended work. We suspect it's because of her allergies as well. You haven't just lost 3 clients, you've lost our recommendations.

Fantastic experience: My experience at the Carolina lakes family dental was great. I have no complaints The waiting room was clean the people are nice, and a short wait time. I look forward to visiting again in the 6 months.Thank you for your hospitality and pleasant customer service. Keep up the great work you are doing.

Negative experience: On 22 August 2 scheduled appointment today’s in a row. I was literally one minute and 45 seconds late after took me to Dennis less than 1 mile away and having to reroute back to my appointment in route the dentist called me receptionist called me actually and said I was fine to see me in a minute. I walked in one minute and 45 seconds late and she canceled my appointment so they only had a five minute grace. Mind you this was the second day in a row late due to miss leading directions the first day I was in Carthage not Cameron. I was 10 minutes late that day as I called her and let her know she was nice to get scheduled for the next day at work no purpose because today she wouldn’t let me be seen neither!

Fantastic experience: I can honestly say my first visit wasn’t 5 stars but after a year, I finally went back and if I could give a hygienist 50 stars I would! I highly recommend Linden. And that woman deserves some type of award or raise! She’s absolutely amazing, sweet, caring, honest, and made my anxiety basically disappear! She was very clear with each step she was taking and made sure I felt comfortable my entire visit. She was exactly who I was looking for! The Dr was very clear on my dental plan as well! I definitely can’t wait to go back and get my teeth taken care of again!!!

Negative experience: Apparently Carolina Lakes Family Dental cannot keep Dentists or Hygienists on their staff. They called me 20 minutes before my appointment to let me know I would need to reschedule because they didn't have a hygienist to clean my teeth. Had to wait another 3 weeks to get my teeth cleaned and when I went to schedule my next 6 month appointment they told me they are scheduling out 9 months before they have any openings. I was told it was due to not enough dentists or hygienists. I'm now looking for a new dental practice.

Fantastic experience: My anxiety tends to take over when I go to the dentist but Tasha my hygienist was awesome!!!!!! Tasha was a solid 10 in my book. Very professional and her experience with me allowed me to get through it with ease
