Negative experience: Terrible practice and just wants your money. I went in as a new patient and the hygienist forgot to clean the backs of my bottom teeth. Then the dentist came in and told me I had two cavities without even looking at my teeth and I would have to come back and pay $300 for the two fillings. She got super defensive when I started questioning it and accused me of not going to the dentist recently (I had) so I decided not to come back. Went to a new office for my next visit and sure enough I never had any cavities.

Negative experience: Was seen to get X-rays and come up with a plan to fix all my teeth. It has been over two weeks and I have not even received a call back from them on a treatment plan. I have called multiple times and get put on hold and left there until I am forced to hang up and move on with my day. Very unprofessional experience so far.

Fantastic experience: Timely service, dental tech concerned about your the quality of service and your comfort. Dr Hughes is welcoming and professional with his follow up. His recommendation for dental care were informative and helpful.

Negative experience: Dr. Hughes put a crown in my mouth and it came out while eating soft food. I’m disappointed because he wants me to pay 2900 well he tried to lower it to 1688 after I started asking questions and was confused on how a tooth that was supposedly fixed by having a root canal and crown put on now has fallen out and needs 2900$ worth of work, so now I’m going somewhere else for a second opinion. Also the front desk staff don’t answer the phone, don’t call you back after leaving voicemails, they take their precious time and do not care about the customers, seems like everyone only cares or have answers when it’s about money. 10/16/25 I went to another dentist for a second opinion and like I thought dental works only care about money and what’s not best for you. Dr. Hughes told me I could get a bridge done which would involve 3 teeth and over time those teeth would have to eventually get pulled out and replaced. The other doctor told me that it’s best to pull the tooth out and get an implant, Dr. Hughes did suggest that as well but it would have cost a arm and leg, the other dentistry gave me a great price on getting an implant put in. I’m saying all this to say, go to places that actually care about you, your health and your well being, especially if you are going to spend money there at the establishment.

Fantastic experience: Dr. A is amazing. She is the only dentist I will go to to take certain care of my teeth needs for the last 20 years. Her staff are very friendly and professional. Every visit's great, and I always leave with a smile on my face! Highly recommend to anyone! 5 ⭐

Negative experience: I’m a new patient, and my experience has been disappointing. After my first appointment in May 2025, the dentist recommended a deep cleaning. The procedure was submitted to my insurance, and the claim was approved and sent back to the dental office. I never heard anything back from them. I followed up in July and was told they hadn’t received the claim—with no guidance or effort to help me figure out the next steps. No one has followed up since. As a new patient, this lack of communication is very frustrating. Beware, in my experience you’ll need to stay on top of your paperwork yourself, because this office will not follow through or keep you informed.

Fantastic experience: I love my dentist Dr Aquero but I couldn’t get my 2nd cleaning due to needing signed documents from cardio surgery (valve replacement). The surgeon gave me pre-meds before going & I’d never heard of all legal documents needed so I only had 1 cleaning this year. Needless to say I was very disappointed. The staff tried to get in touch with them so I could get it but. Lots of hoops to jump through. I will not leave my Dentist. She’s the best!!!

Positive experience: Short blonde girl at front desk was very rude. I was only asking questions about information about my service since that was the first time there. I like my new Dentist if I decide to return. Front office staff in Dentists offices are the reason people don’t return back. They need us we don’t need them especially when I have dental insurance that’s covering this over price cap! Only the best should be representing this front office. And professional enough to know how to talk to people.

Negative experience: I cannot recommend DentalWorks Greensboro for tooth extractions based on my unfortunate experience. I had my wisdom teeth removed there in early 2023, and since then, I have faced ongoing complications. For over a year, I reported persistent pain in my gums where my wisdom tooth was extracted, as well as a loss of feeling in the lower right side of my jaw. Despite my repeated visits every couple of months, the staff was unable to provide any explanation or effective solutions. During one visit, I was in extreme pain, yet one staff member rudely asked me to leave, stating they could not help me. At that point, I found it difficult to speak or eat due to the pain. I had to visit the emergency room three times before finding another dentist willing to help me. This new dentist referred me to a neurologist, who diagnosed me with trigeminal neuralgia, reportedly a result of the wisdom tooth extraction. Now, I face a lifetime of medication and constant pain, which has significantly impacted my quality of life and led to depression. Additionally, when I approached my new dentist for assistance, there was considerable hesitation on their part to send over my dental records from DentalWorks Greensboro, which further delayed my treatment. I deeply regret my decision to have my tooth extraction performed at DentalWorks Greensboro. The lack of care and compassion I experienced, especially during such a painful time, was disheartening. I urge anyone considering dental work to seek treatment elsewhere, as the experience I had could potentially lead to severe long-term consequences like mine.

Fantastic experience: Both Dr Hughes and his nurse Arieonna have always taken good care of my dental needs and today is no exception. They care and it shows in their work and how they treat their patients. The whole staff there are pleasant and understanding as well.

Fantastic experience: A truly professional and quality office. Yet the cost of a cleaning very questionable and worthy of comparison. Nonetheless, I have not experienced such professionalism and thoughness in a very long time. My doctor was exceptional and the dental assistant was top dollar.

Fantastic experience: Professional and proficient. I have become cautious of dental work from some painful experiences in the past and I shared that with them. Tall Sam was friendly and understanding and did a great job with my X-rays ( didn't make me gag) My teenage kids saw small Sam and Ariel who were also friendly and did a great job cleaning. We were able to meet with both dentists as well. Both were able to find cavities in me the mom and none in my kids! That went over well at home!

Negative experience: In the off chance you get ahold of someone on the phone they have an attitude. Say they will call back only to never call back. Do not call back after leaving voicemail… for whatever reason refuse to schedule me after taking forever to get insurance preauthorization. Going on a 2 month process now trying to get scheduled….

Fantastic experience: Katie always has a positive attitude and a way of making me feel like I'm special and puts me in a great mood. Dr Agulara is patient with me and always makes sure I don't have any questions.

Positive experience: I enjoyed meeting Dr. Aguera. She was very straightforward and honest about what she could do help to help fix my smile; however, her technician was kind but very confusing about the process. She has a strong foreign accent and I found it hard to understand what she said. I also didn't understand why I have to go to a different dentist and how I would be charged for that.

Fantastic experience: Ariel is the greatest dental hygienist! She is personable, patient, kind gentle and a pure sweetheart!The whole staff really are kind patient and respectful they genuinely care about the patient,I feel seen. Appointments have been done in a timely fashion and no long waiting periods. I was referred by a friend and I’m glad I came in.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Aguero at Dental works on Battleground is the one and only dentist I have visited in the past 18 years. My last visit was as great as ALL the others, AMAZING!!!

Fantastic experience: DentalWorks of Greensboro has been my office of choice for a little over 8 years. The customer service is always professional, the dental technicians are always comforting and efficient, and Dr. Hughes is always thorough and cheerful. I would recommend this location to anyone looking to find a doctor who is honest, action plan driven, and won't take advantage of you, or your time.

Fantastic experience: Fast paced office. Everyone is nice. Love, love, love hygienist Sam. (Big Sam) (sorry if that is the wrong wording ) She is my kind of guru! Her knowledge on horror movies is amazing! Dr. Hughes is amazing as well and puts up with us. Also amazing is (I forget her name) but she was helping put my crown on and kept me laughing.

Fantastic experience: My experience with DentalWorks Greensboro has been great! They answer any questions I have and they are very caring and accommodating.

Negative experience: I am finally waiting for my implants. The temporary plates I have are totally useless. They pinch my gums, very painful. The bottom plate will not stay in place making eating impossible. The top plate is making my gum sore. I just pray the implants are better fitting.

Fantastic experience: Betty has been my dentists for over 20 years . She ask questions ,remembers things from the past and genuinely cares .

Fantastic experience: I had never been to a Dental Works previously and I was very pleasantly surprised. Samantha was so personable and friendly and professional at the same time. She made me very comfortable while she did my cleaning and maintenance. Then I met Dr Aguero, who also was super friendly, seemed genuinely interested and was very thorough in checking my x-rays and my teeth. It was a pleasant experience, which is not what most people say after visiting the dentist.

Negative experience: Facility was run down and they were not able To perform the oral surgery I specifically tried to make sure they could asking multiple times each time I spoke with someone on the phone.

Negative experience: I have been there for more than ten years me and all family we love the doctors and still I do. but recently one of the ladies in the lobby leave an assault voice message about me leaving without pay although it was her fault because I asked her twice before I left, I came later paid and make a complain about the message unfortunately the laday where her office located in side the lobby denied and the phone number is their office, I came for an appointment the same lady call my name walked me to the room I was looking to her tag is that her job today? Is she having issues with me?? I control my self and left , feeling so bad and hurt twice, this is not professional at all.

Fantastic experience: I’m one of those people that get very nervous at the dentist. However, Dr Hughes and his staff took excellent care of me and dismissed those fears. I can’t imagine going anywhere else for my dental health.

Positive experience: Great, friendly, helpful staff. Everyone was so kind and accommodating. The only reason I rate a 4 star instead of 5 is that the office space, itself, could use an upfit. A little paint, laminate flooring and some new chairs could do wonders. But it didn't change how well I was treated.

Fantastic experience: I haven't been here in quite some time but the staff was very friendly and welcoming of my return. I had a dental hygienist who was amazing and she made sure it was a smooth visit. It was very easy to get in an out without having to fill out a lot of paperwork. I had to give a few invisible signatures and that was all. I definitely look forward to returning every 6 months

Fantastic experience: Me and my fiance have been going to this dental provider for almost two years now and from day one we both stated how pleased we were with their friendly staff and prompt service. I especially love Mindy. I'm not sure of her title possibly a dental hygienist but she is phenomenal! You can tell she loves her job and takes great pride in her work. When I leave from there I'm always pleased and happy ❤

Positive experience: I contemplated giving this review but the experience I had this morning was frustrating and traumatic. I travelled almost 30 minutes to my appointment. The dark haired receptionist always has an attitude. My family has been going to dental works for years. She has been rude to another family member of mine previously. Today was no exception. I had concerns about my insurance and wanted to be honest and make sure I was covered due my HR professional saying we were changing coverage. I didn’t want to have to pay out of pocket for the full amount. After doing so I was told that I was now late for my appointment and the hygienist/tech would not take me. I found that interesting as I have had to wait on multiple occasions 15mins after arriving for my appointment. I was frustrated and stormed out, but returned because I didn’t not want to be charged a $50 late fee. Then I was told I would have to pay a $50 late fee. Then a lady who seemed to be over the receptionists said something similar, but then wanted to tell me how I was lucky because most places just make patients pay everything up front and then you have to deal with it. Not relevant or helpful information to the situation. I told her I wanted to wait until I got confirmation that I would not be charged a late fee. Due to the kindness and understanding of Dr.Huges and the hygienist that made room for me I was able to get my prophylaxis (preventative) cleaning. The doctors are great. Dr. Hughes is great. The hygienist and tech that fit me in were amazing. She complimented me multiple times on how great my teeth are. I was an easy patient. The hygienist that rejected missed out on an easy appointment. Anyways, they are reason this is a 4 star and not a 1 start. However when you have a receptionist like the one previously mentioned it ruins the whole experience. I was made to feel like a pariah after trying to do the right thing and stick up for myself. She does not run that office or practice, however her negative attitude dictates the outcome of the experience for the customer.

Fantastic experience: My wait time was little to none. Sam Hawkins, my hygienist, was professional and made me feel at home at the same time. Dr. Hughes addressed all current issues that I need to take care of and patiently ensured that I was well informed to make the proper decisions about my oral health. Fantastic experience: Love the staff- they are super friendly! And they are honest. I was seen by a different dentist that recommended thousands of dollars of dental work they said was urgent. Dr Hughes said it was not necessary and he would recommend observation. I will be their patient for life.

Negative experience: I called today ,11/20/24, to reschedule my account that is for 11/26/24 and whoever answered the phone, listen to my request and just put me on hold for 17 minutes. They didn't ask me to hold or say anything. So, I hang up and call back and now noone is available to answer. This was very rude and disrespectful at the same time. I like the service of the people who do my teeth, but whoever answers the phone not much so. An upset customer

Fantastic experience: I've been going there for over 15 years. Very friendly staff, on time service, absolutely no complaints. They handle all my insurance claims as well. I highly recommend them.

Negative experience: This office does not answer the phone. Had an appointment on a Tuesday, but needed to cancel. Attempted to call on a Friday but no answer. Was able to reach someone that Monday morning during opening hours. I was told I needed to pay a 50.00 cancellation fee to reschedule due to needing 48 hour notice. In the same breath I was told they were not in office that Friday afternoon which was why they didn’t answer. This made absolutely no sense. I can’t do business like this, and it’s unfortunate because I genuinely liked both dentist’s work. Still, it’s unacceptable to conduct business this way.

Fantastic experience: I had a great oral surgeon! I had to get my wisdom teeth taken out . Dr. Kristen Kilgore is the absolute best!! She is very professional! Surgery went smooth and very fast! Little to no swelling so far and very little pain!

Positive experience: I enjoyed coming here for Dr. Hughes & Dr. Aguero! I love to see a business owned by two brilliant doctors of color when I moved to Greensboro from Ohio. The two of them kept me excited to come back each visit. Dr. Hughes is thoughtful, kind, thorough and considerate. He takes his time and checks on all his patients/clients to be sure we are well. You can tell how both dentists bond with their patients. However the shortage of staff & customer service at the front desk along scheduling has been disappointing & frustrating. It’s hard to come back after being so excited to come regularly and then feeling discouraged.

Fantastic experience: I went for an emergency appointment to my regular dentist office yesterday and I received outstanding service form the beginning (reception desk) to the end (dentist and billing). The office associate (Leti, I believe) was very accommodating, polite, and efficient. I had been asking for an appointment for my wife and myself for a much needed profilaxis (cleaning) and it looked like we had to wait until November. Well, Leti checked some cancellations and openings and found an earlier option for both of us. I am usually a chicken when it comes to go to the dentist’s but Dr. Aguero and Hughes make you feel like part of the family and their experience and skills are unmatched. I recommend this practice without hesitation. Hands down, it is the best place to put the trust of your family’s dental health. They are great!

Fantastic experience: I had my 6 month cleaning today and my hygienist Sam was nice, didn't bludgeon my gums, explained what she was doing and then walked me to the front desk. And Dr. Timothy Hughes has been my dentist for at least 10 years and I have no complaints. My wife Janice loves his work also.

Negative experience: I told this office they have made to many mistakes. They did not know why I was here. They said we have you here for extractions. My teeth were already extracted. I found them incompetent in several of the questions i asked. They told me that my insurance company would not pay anything for my bridges. I called my insurance company and they said they would pay 50% for bridges depending on the code. That is a big mistake! Needless to say, I have found a new oral surgeon.

Fantastic experience: Dentalworks in Greensboro is a very good dental care business. I've had 3 bridges done there and they are as good as my real teeth were. Dr. Aguero and Dr. Hughes are very good dentists and their business is super organized. I still enjoy eating because of them. My feelings are the same, now. 04/04/25. Great place for dental care.

Negative experience: No one answering phones once again. I know I asked last time I was there about them being short staffed and was told the company won't hire anyone else to help. Well this is absolutely ridiculous to call multiple times a day for days and not be able to get a single person on the phone. The mailbox is full so you can't leave a voicemail either. We needed to move my husband's dentist appt and I know they charge if you don't cancel 24 hours in advance. How are you supposed to get a hold of someone to cancel if no one answers phone. I'll correct that, I know they answer phones, they just don't have enough people there to HELP answer phones. UPDATE: My parents received forwarded notice of a past due bill from them saying FINAL notice. I haven't lived at that address in ages, my parents don't live there anymore, and I had been to the office plenty of times since the date of service to handle the bill in person not to mention I am sure my address is updated. Fast forward a few weeks because of course no one has time to answer phones and you can't leave voicemails, I call to ask what the bill is for. I get told that they think it still needed to be ran by insurance and I was told they would find out and call me back. It's been a month. No call. And I'm sure this has been sent to collections now. Absolute garbage truck compared to when I first started going here in my teens. I don't know what is happening

Positive experience: Always get a thorough cleaning and hygiene “tips” to include problem areas. Doctors are great on consulting (when needed) & careful to complete the exam procedure at every visit. Makes the trip worth it! Make room in their schedule to keep you from coming in twice! Dr. Hughes does an excellent job numbing the area where drilling is needed. His Medical Assistant is very compassionate & making you comfortable and at ease - very pleased with their work & professionalism.Front desk staff (especially Martha) went “over & above” to give individual attendees on a special request- thank you for that!

Negative experience: The worst dental place I've ever been to. I should have read those low-rate reviews before going to this place. I had a dental emergency and scheduled an appointment in December 2023. The front desk doesn't know how to process Tricare insurance and doesn't show any patience to learn about the processing. They called me and asked questions which the answers are obviously on my CAC, and they have a copy of my CAC. They don't even want to check the copy first. After the first appointment, they said they needed to call Tricare to make sure that my insurance would cover the treatment and would call me back. Until now, March 2024, they have NEVER called me back. I had to live with my bad tooth for over two months, which made a lot of inconvenience and discomfort. This place has ZERO customer service. They are rude and not willing to listen to their patients. I will NEVER visit this place or recommend it to my friends.

Positive experience: It’s a great place once you go in. However, they never answer the phone when you need to make an appointment they also don’t respond to any voice messages that are left. Additionally they do not respond when you try to make an appointment online. We have been calling for 2 weeks straight to make an appointment. They need an answering service or need to hire more people. It’s very frustrating!!!

Fantastic experience: I was extremely impressed with the professionalism and Courtesy of the entire staff. Excellent care provided by Doctor Hughes and his assistant. Everything regarding my condition was explained to me. My condition was serious! Doctor Hughes, immediately referred me to another doctor, and scheduled me on the same day to have a emergency root canal. I'm so thankful and grateful to Doctor Hughes, and his entire staff. I have been going there since the 1990s.I have not had a lot of money or great dental insurance but I always know I will be taken care of thanks Ned. Recently I have had a lot of issues but they still care about their patients .It's now 2024 and still they treat me wonderful Best wishes for New Year.

Negative experience: got my wisdom tooth out last july, i paid in full. (i couldn’t even leave without paying the full amount so the bill doesn’t make sense, no payment plan option to my knowledge) i keep getting billed for the full amount, my wife casey went in sorted it out a second time with them in person saying something went wrong with the insurance, when they did her appointment & i just got another bill. My mom my wife & i have all called in to sort it out, im fed up. i’m sick of the back & forth with them, it goes through everything is fine, then i get a bill.

Fantastic experience: I love Dr. Hughes. He is a meek and humble man. He is knowledgeable, quick and efficient in his role as a dentist. I started out terrified of the dentist. Now, I'm willing to schedule my cleanings and dental work.

Fantastic experience: EXCELLENT! Had a bit of an emergency (didn't need to wait any longer than needed). They took me in immediately as a "walk-in" patient and treated me like a LONG TIME patient. Was in and out in short order. Great and exceptional care by Dr. Hughes and his assistant Ariana. Everything was explained up front, the condition, the options, the care. So great, in fact, that I am now choosing them as my PRIMARY dental service. Highly Recommend!!!

Negative experience: Usually this Doctor office is a great office. Today was different! We came in! Carla was on the phone. I waited and then I decided to go put my stuff down y until she got off the phone. A guy came in while she was still on the phone. She asked him his name. She knew I was next. She never acknowledged me until she checked him in. Very surprised and very disappointed. And by the way. It was just me and my two daughters in the lobby.

Fantastic experience: Everyone is always very nice, Dr. Hughes is the best dentist ever, he is so gentle you can barely feel anything. I love this place!!!

Positive experience: Enjoyed my Dental Assistant Ariel. She was very friendly. And did an amazing job with cleaning my teeth. Had me in and out in a short amount of time. Would highly recommend

Fantastic experience: This is the best experience I’ve ever had having a tooth pulled! From the start to leaving, everyone was super friendly and made me feel at ease when walking in the door! Meeka I had spoken to several times just getting things set up to come in for my appointment! She’s is a doll, on the phone and in person, super happy with my visit, and will definitely recommend to all that needs a great dentist practice, this office will not disappoint! I was referred by my regular dentist in Winston Salem to Kristen Kilgore for oral surgery having a tooth removed! She was done before I even knew it! Highly recommend here and all the extra special staff she has! The best experience, and if i lived in Greensboro and didn’t have a great dentist here myself it would be well worth the 45 min drive! Thank y’all again! 5 stars!!!!

Fantastic experience: Previous to my appointment, I was contacted by an extremely courteous employee on numerous occasions to make sure all my info was received and documented before my appointment day. I received texts as the appointment date was getting close, reassuring me that everything was in order, which eased my mind. I arrived early and was greeted by the same extremely courteous employee that I had been in contact with on many occasions, I was made very comfortable and then was taken back early where every employee that I was greeted by from the X-ray to the dental chair, was very welcoming and so kind that I forgot to be nervous about my procedure. The surgeon was also very kind and precise (it was over with before I knew it) I stopped by the rest room on the way out and was even impressed with it as it was so clean and decorated with such taste. I will without doubt be returning here for all of my dental needs.

Positive experience: I went to get my wisdom teeth removed and it was such a seamless experience. And I was done in under an hour. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars because is a bit dated but the service and hospitality was great

Fantastic experience: Short Sam was a great hygienist and really was gentle with my sensitive teeth! Dr. Hughes was also kind. Was my first cleaning and with x-rays I was out in almost an hour! The dental plan they offer through dentalworks was affordable as well.

Fantastic experience: On today, I received my permanent crown! Extremely grateful for Dr Aguero expertise, she is certainly one of the best Orthodontists in the Triad! And I recommend her to anyone who want the best dental care offered. As with any medical professional, listen, learn, and follow instructions period. The staff is very professional, personable and friendly. Their attitude towards each other sets the tone for an important relationship between you and your provider. I am very pleased that I chose this DentalWorks location. Usually, my blood pressure rises when I go to most doctors offices mainly because the patient waiting areas are so noisy but not this one!!! My blood pressure remained normal. Thank you Dr.Aguero for your excellent service and wonderful staff.

Fantastic experience: Great, happy people helping me with a smile and new teeth! Makes me happy had all my teeth pulled with general anesthesia. I was scare but was put to calm by the Dr right away. Needles weren't pleasant but all in all, I had an excellent appointment with Dental works

You can tell they really care about their patients. Every time I go in, they greet you like they know you personally. I love this place!

Fantastic experience: I just moved back in town and wanted to re-fill a tooth filling asap. I've called probably close to 100 dental offices, and this was the only one that the lady over the phone was helpful and encouraged me to come in, and they could help within a day or two. I went to my appt, they have the sweetest staff ever. Shoutout to Ariana(dentist assistant?), Dr. Hugh, and the office lady with sparkle hair band (lol) Ariana was very thorough from asking questions to took care of me at every step of the way. She made sure I was alright and cleaned my mouth well. Dr. Hugh was fast and efficient. I've been to multiple dental offices in the past and he's the only dentist that ever examed my tongue and checked for sores. He was also very professional. Lastly, on my way out, that front office lady with the sparkle hair band was on her way out but she reloged back to her computer just so I dont have to wait. I kept telling her it's ok I can wait but she insisted that she can help so I didn't have to wait. Overall, A+ experience and already recommended them to my whole family lol I'll return for sure.

Fantastic experience: I absolutely love this place! All of the staff, the girls in the front, the office manager, the dental assistant and the dentist, they all make me feel like a special patient to them all! The warmth I feel when I come into the office is absolutely incredible too as well! And the dentist, there’s not enough words in the dictionary to explain how great she truly is! I w always been so anxious to go see any dentist, but not dental works Greensboro! The co plate and whole entire staff is just terrific and wonderful! Everyone needs to go there! I know I won’t allow anyone else to mess with my mouth!lol! Can’t say enough about this place but I will say you’re making a huge mistake not going there! They’re absolutely great! Good job guys! It says a lot for me not to be anxious about seeing a dentist and I’m not at all coming here! Thanks again guys, great job and just keep up all the great work! What a team! They all seem to really work great together too and that make a huge difference in my visits I know!
