Fantastic experience: I literally cannot say enough positive things about this office. From the counter staff, the nurses, hygienists, the doctor himself— they are OUTSTANDING PROFESSIONALS ANS EVEN BETTER HUMAN BEINGS. This is the definition of community, providing affordable me, quality care— you want you come back to. They not only literally saved my tooth, I had a severe infection and they went above and beyond to get me in. I am like many, dentistry terrifies me. Process was painless and so well done. I had to return for another dental issue, and I was treated like family. Could literally write a novel about how this place is the definition of humanity, care, and good humans doing SOLID WORK. Recommend TO EVERYONE! Only place I will go.

Fantastic experience: I have excellent service when Dr Kellogg and assistance Shelby performing the service needed to bring everything up to date. All of the service that Hometown Dental gives their patients is the best. I have been a patient with them for 30 years. Just had a cleaning by Samm it was great.

Fantastic experience: I had a dental emergency and they got me in that same day. It was my first there. Dr. Lena Yagoo got right to it and fixed it. The doctor and staff was very friendly and professional. I strongly recommend Dr.Yagoo and West Highland Dental Care for your dental needs.

Negative experience: I was referred by the hospital because I have a broken tooth hurting me I wanted to get pulled. I came here because they told me they could pull it next day for $190. I went in and waited a long time for them to finally come to my room and tell me it possibly doesn’t need to be pulled and could get an implant and being it’s a front tooth, I want to save it. So I decided to leave without getting any work done in my mouth. When I left they still made me pay $100. Basically just to tell me what they told me. So here I am in pain again, and $100 less in my pocket. I definitely can’t afford to go back here.

Fantastic experience: Recently moved to Hometown from UofM to complete my care with snap in dentures. Initial observation of the physical office is exceptionally clean, cozy and very nicely appointed. Office staff...well, let me say I've never been to ANY medical facility that had kinder, more knowledgeable, cheerful or helpful staff (every single person I've met there is WONDERFUL), from insurance coverage to appointments and obtaining my records from UofM (no easy feat as they rival War And Peace in volume from 2008). Prothdontists are not easy to find however Hometown has an absolute GEM in Dr Aly (a Disney Prince of a fella and his side kick Veronica) and I've met a bunch in the last 17 years of extensive prothdontic work! From the moment I met with him I was at ease with his knowledge and moreso his chairside manner. The entire office top to bottom is the epitome of exemplary service. Thank you all and I LOVE my new teeth. Lol

Fantastic experience: Samm was amazing today with my 3 & 4 year old, our first time here today and she made the experience so nice.

Positive experience: I decided to change dentists when my work went to Work From Home and my previous provider was in Wixom. I must say, the facility is huge. The lobby is "modern rustic", like a cottage, but very comfortable and inviting with casual seating, a TV and a kiddie activity area. The receptionist was friendly and prepared for my arrival. I only waited about 5 minutes to be called to the back. I was impressed by the size of the space and the modern equipment. My hygienist was Samantha. She was very friendly asking a lot of questions to make me feel comfortable. She seemed genuinely concerned and very attentive. The devices she used to take x-rays and digital pictures of my teeth were high tech and non-intrusive. The dentist then came in and did his consult - he was very down to earth and detailed. The visit ended and Samantha walked me back out to reception to end the visit and make my next appointment. Overall, it was a pleasant and efficient visit and I would recommend Hometown Dental for all your dental needs. Note: For some reason I keep getting overcharged for procedures (not teeth cleaning). Their estimates are 4 times the O&C. I am now in the habit of letting them know I will pay once I receive the EOB from Cigna. Update 21Jul2025: My cleaning went well. The hygienist and doctor were great. My issue arose when I went to checkout and was advised I owed over $100 because: 1. I saw a different do tor who was not in network. Why is this my problem? 2. A periodontal exam that I was not informed was an extra fee. On my previous visits, I am asked to sign a list of procedures and associated fees BEFORE we commence. This time I was not. I have had repeated issues with billing and fees/extra charges. I also want to point out that the young lady who handles the fees developed an attitude while we were discussing the fees. I will not be going back.

Fantastic experience: I’ve had lots of work done on my teeth in the past and nobody anywhere took care of me like these women have. Veronica and Al-Hammadi are amazing! I hate shots so bad so Veronica always holds my hand. This time when I got my tooth fixed I fell asleep! I couldn’t believe it. I HIGHLY recommend this practice. Also, the receptionists are very kind as well.

Fantastic experience: After several attempts to have my autistic daughter have her cavities filled, Hometown Dental was the best. We may not have made it to a completed procedure, but they were able to get her closer than anyone else. Their patience with my child went above and beyond any dentist we have tried. So much so, we are giving it another go and I feel confident with how far they were able to go with her, the next appointment will be a success. From our initial phone call to meeting the dentist, every employee was top notch. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking such great care of our daughter.

Fantastic experience: Staff is very kind and caring. Priority is to patient comfort and follow up care, to matain good dental health. Also Kellogg Dental is a very child friendly environment. There is a beautiful tree house in the waiting room. We would recommend Kellogg Dental to anyone. Update. Even though the name has changed, the staff remains outstanding. After every visit, I have always been happy with the attention and care that I have received. I continue to recommend Home Town Dental to any one looking for compassionate care.

Fantastic experience: My family and myself have been patients of Hometown Dental for as long as I can remember. We are happy with the service we receive and that timeframe speaks for itself. Our experience with this office has been a positive one. I began with Dr. Kellogg and any work he has done has been top notch. My hygenist Sam has always been the sweetest, and always does a great job cleaning my teeth! They are efficient and up to date on their procedures and will listen to any issues that you have. I recommend this office for your dental needs!

Negative experience: You have wonderful dental service. However, the fact that today was the first time in the ten years I’ve been coming to your office, that someone informed me that I was out of network, is insane. If I had known my insurance was not covering as much as it could have been somewhere else then, I would have certainly gone somewhere else. Usually all I hear from you guys, is how great my insurance is. Not once that you were out of my network. After the insane copay today, as much as I like your office and staff, I am definitely going elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: I've been taking all four of my kids to Hometown after a not great experience at a pediatric dentist and they've been absolutely amazing with the kids! They're so attentive and my kids feel so comfortable there

Fantastic experience: I came into hometown dental because my temporary crown had broken in half and Kaeleigh helped me with making a new one! She was very gentle, sweet and asked questions to make sure I was comfortable! She fixed my crown in less than 20 minutes and sent me on my way! Overall very satisfied and will be requesting her again!! :)

Negative experience: I had forgotten about my 3 and 5 year olds early morning appointment the other day because my 5 yr old woke up with pink eye so scrambling to figure out who’s going to take her to the doctors and telling her school and who’s going to call in to work, I completely forgot about their dentist appointment at 8:30 despite it being in my calendar…Well a $150 lesson learned. We have been coming to hometown dental for a 4 years now and almost everyone has been great but after being charged a $150 fee for rescheduling my two children’s appointments, because we cancelled last minute and then rescheduled ($75 per appointment slot), we will find a new dentist. It’s an unfortunate way to run a business when sometimes things are beyond our control.

Fantastic experience: I made an appointment because I read the qualifications of the Dentist. She has a very impressive biography. Also a U of M nod to her grades and achievements. Most patients skip an important part of finding a good dentist. Meeting her in person didn't disappoint. A soothing voice and pleasant disposition. I actually felt relaxed at a dentist office for the first time.

Negative experience: Nice lobby. Good location. Had Dr. Bob and some lady i forgot her name as my dental assistant, both seem nice. This place just won't be the same without my old dental assistant and dentist

Positive experience: I had a new dentist today. He did not greet me nor introduce himself. I found him very off putting. However, I love my hygienist.

Fantastic experience: My copays are lower than all the other places I've gone for similar procedures. They are very patient centered and professional. Dentist actually accommodated my urgent appointment to suit me the absolute best by adding me to the end of her schedule. Very compassionate. They even have a comfort menu including pillows blankets sunglasses lip balm heated and massage chairs. Very in tune with past trauma concerns. I went there overwhelmed with worry about cost and how much I needed taken care of to coming home crying I was so greatful and relieved about all they could accomplish on my regards without causing undue financial burdens. She actually took picturesof my teeth so that i could see what she was talking about. I fully understood what was wrong and why and the best treatment.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Sable did my wisdom tooth extraction today and he makes it a smooth process. He does an excellent job. He had previously done a root canal for me. And that also went great. I highly recommend Dr. Sable

Fantastic experience: Sherry greeted me warmly, and made me feel more comfortable with conversation. She expertly directed me through my x rays and began my notes based on x rays and verbal history. When she began to clean my teeth I was very nervous because the last time I had it done it was quite painful. The only word that comes to mind to describe the experience is “masterful”. When you have people that are good in any sort of profession you know it quickly. And I knew. She continued her work on me and explained what she was doing and different options that could be taken if I was experiencing discomfort. I did not need them. She had the doctor come in and examine me part way through the cleaning so I would not have to wait a long time for him to finish with a longer appointment that was coming up. I appreciated her professionalism and easy way she guided me through the entire experience. I highly recommend Sherry and this practice.

Fantastic experience: I've seen over a dozen dentists this office puts them ALL to shame! The way they actually care for their patients is unsurpassable! The extra mile they go to ease my anxiety isn't wasted on me they offered a neck pillow, blanket, chapstick, etc and let me know I was in charge during the procedure if I needed a break, could feel any pain to just let them know they'd accommodate! Highly recommend to anyone with anxiety about dental work.

Fantastic experience: Not having been to the dentist in many years, I was very apprehensive about my first visit. The majority of my consultation was done with Veronica. She was amazingly kind, and offered clear explanations at each step. She did a wonderful job putting together a treatment plan, and my refusal was always on option. Initially I was going to explore other dentists, just to be sure, but I felt confidant to choose Hometown Dental as my new dentist. I would 100% recommend them to other people.

Negative experience: Extremely long wait times. Poor communication and high prices. I have been disappointed with the service at this office. I had an appointment at 11:30 that did not start until 1:30, 2 hours of waiting. They misled me about pricing. I was told I could get a " 5% discount for paying in full". They did not tell me that it only applies to cash or check, costing me an extra $155. The first time I went, I paid with card and discount did apply. They had a sign out that said if you refer someone you get special rewards. I wrote down the person who referred me and they got nothing. The staff seemed nice, but the overall service has led me look for other options.

Fantastic experience: It was my first appointment. I had a deep clean done, The hygienist was amazing, all the staff have been amazing. The building and the waiting room makes you feel like you're in a beautiful log cabin. I love my new dentist.

Fantastic experience: My family and I have been coming here since 2015. We love the staff, they make you feel like family. I had Dr. Al-Hammadi fill a cavity yesterday and could not be more pleased with the results. She is a perfectionist when it comes to making teeth feel “right”. She’s patient, kind and extremely capable. I felt no pain and was treated so well by both my hygienist and Dr. Al-Hammadi.

Fantastic experience: Have seen Dr. Patel and Michelle for over a year for my Invisalign and they are both absolutely fantastic. Kind, welcoming, and good at what they do. So sad Dr. Patel left. Recently saw Dr. Al-Hamadi and Shelby to get my Invisalign attachments removed and scan for my retainer. They both were very kind, attentive, thorough, and made sure I was happy with the results before I left. Shelby provides A++ patient service and has such a friendly disposition!

Fantastic experience: Very pleasurable staff, the dentist isn't my favorite place to frequent, but staff makes you feel warm and fuzzy, I wish they would take down appointment reminders a level or two, but I get it.

I woke up very early this morning with extreme pain in my wisdom teeth, i called them as soon as they opened, told them what was going on and they got me right in!!! i’ve never been here before and the fact that I called them with such worry and in so much pain and they got me in and those teeth extracted in the same day!! i cannot thank you guys enough for the relief i have. i will definitely be coming back. see you guys in december for a cleaning:)

Fantastic experience: I recently had six crowns done by Veronica and Dr. Sable. They were amazing to say the least. I have been seeing Dr. Sable for a while now, and I have nothing but great things to say about my experience with him. Veronica was very helpful by talking me through the process as it was happening. She also took a lot of time and focus to make sure my temporary crowns looked great until I get the real ones. My experience at hometown dental has been exceptionally positive all around, including the amazing lady’s at the front desk who are always happy and helpful. They also have a very comfortable environment throughout the building. I would recommend Hometown to all family and friends.

Fantastic experience: Holly was super sweet and quick with cleaning my teeth. She made sure I knew what she was doing and let me know the goods and bads with recommendations as she was going. The whole staff at Hometown is super sweet and do everything they can to make sure your comfortable.

Negative experience: I went here to get a tooth extracted. A tooth that had been in stabbing pain for weeks, that they themselves had said had ‘major decay’. I sat there for over an hour begging for them to pull the tooth because I simply didn’t have the money to pay for a roote canal. They called me emotional, saying I was “just a 19 year old girl and would regret it” the tooth was my pack right tooth you couldn’t see if I smiled big. So after begging for easily an hour, apparently my dad called the dentist to see if I was ok, the person who answered told him I was being stubborn and told him what procedure I wanted, and he said to do it since I couldn’t afford it and was in pain. So after my dad gave “ permission” (I’m over the age of 18 and don’t need adult permission) they came in and took it out. Two days later I get a call saying they noticed more cavities while I was getting my tooth out. No one told me that when I got it out. I told the secretary that the dentist broke hippa and she said I’d get a call from the manager within the week. It’s been 3 weeks. I hope they figure out soon that the “just 19 year old girl” has been working in health care since she was 16. I know what hippa is. Not to mention that I paid the “emergency appointment” fee and they took me in 20 minutes late and no one came to help me for 10 minutes after. They also tried to scare me out of it saying a bridge would be 4000$ after insurance, its not. It’s about 1500$ on the higher end WITHOUT insurance. Can you guys stop dodging my calls now?

Negative experience: I don't know who is writing these reviews but they are misleading. One cleaning everything looks good. Next cleaning 6 months later I have 6 cavities. I have had to have 2 root canals from them not properly filling a cavity and getting to close to the nerve. They also hurt my husband who feels no pain. I went to Howell Family Dental to have them fix the mistakes. Dr Andreas is gifted. Never looking back. They called and wanted to know why I gave them a bad review. Because you have people go through procedures that are unnecessary.

Fantastic experience: I can’t say enough about how well I have been treated by the Home Town Dental staff. Today I was faced with a difficult decision, and all of the staff were very supportive in helping me understand the process and cost options I faced. I was not pressured at all and received complete cost options so I clearly knew what to expect. They make me feel like more than a patient and more like family. Kirsten has always gone above and beyond to help us through out the years and Dr Kellogg’s perfection is unmatched in the area. I would also like to thank Kerri and Shelby too, your the best

Fantastic experience: I have been a patient of Dr. Kellogg’s for 30+ years. I trust no one else to work on my teeth! His assistant Shelby is beyond fantastic as well. Fantastic experience: Working midnights as an aviation mechanic makes my schedule a bit hectic, and they always do their best to work with me if I get stuck late at work to try and get me in the same day. I love everyone that I met so far, and they always seem to be having fun while working hard to get you feeling confident about the dental work. Unlike my last dentist before going to Hometown, I didn’t feel good about the work they did on my teeth, and they’re working hard on fixing it and are make me feel a lot better about how my smile looks! I usually work with Holly, and she is super sweet and really caring, but since I had to change my appointment time a bit because of my job, I got to meet Kaley today. She was awesome, super nice, and quite understanding with some of the problems I had going on. Hopefully I’ll still see her or even get an appointment with her again sometime!

Fantastic experience: This office is marvelous. They are friendly, informative, and gave me great dental care. My hygienist, Kali, was amazing. She ensured my comfort at every step and really cleaned my teeth well. Thanks to everyone who helped me!

Negative experience: It's amazing how some of the reviews on here are made by people named Patil. Mrs. Patil is a dentist who works for this Company. Now my story I went in for my cleaning and X-ray that was supposed to be a 100% covered by insurance. I was denied service of a cleaning. Instead, the doctor's assistant did all my x-rays and said that they cannot do the cleaning because my Teeth need a deep cleaning in order to have a deep cleaning my A1C of 9.5 has to be approved by my doctor in order to do a deep cleaning. So they said come back tomorrow at 10 AM. They faxed my doctor a paper for my doctor to sign. My doctor signed it 4 different times when I told that to the dentist's office. They told me we never received any of them. And I said well. I don't understand I'm in between this. I don't really get it. Then the assistant offered to figure it out. That the dentists printed paper had the wrong fax number on it. So my doctor was faxing it to the wrong fax number and the secretary blamed me The secretary said you are now late for your appointment. I said I'm not late for my appointment. I was here 10 minutes before my appointment. And my doctor even called at 10am and my appointment was 10 o'clock and said. I'm scanning again for the fourth time the facts of the approval for. The procedure Well the secretary figured out that they gave the wrong fax number to my doctor it was 10:15 and she blamed me saying that I was late for my appointment. I said how could I be late for my appointment? When it's your fault that you gave the wrong fax number to my doctor. Then the secretary looked at me like I was the one causing a problem. Please save yourself the trouble and do not go to the dentist's office. Now I've lost my ability to get my free Cleaning and x-rays for the second time on my insurance.

Fantastic experience: My husband and I both give Hometowns Dental 5 stars after several years as a patient. We both thought Kaley, Cecily, and Dr Sable were all friendly professionals today and provided excellent dental care. We recommend this practice without hesitation.

Negative experience: After having multiple visits and experiences with Hometown Dental, I've amended my review and lowered their rating. Any experiences with Dr. Kellogg have been fantastic. He does exceptional work. The dental assistants are also very good. My primary issue is with the office. I've had more than 4 times where my visit needed to be rescheduled or it was scheduled on the wrong date. Then when the bill arrives, I get no show fees for the times the office made a mistake. I also had an issue over the phone with the billing secretary Carrie. She was rude and ignored what I was telling her. Her response was "I don't even care about it" and moved on to what she thought was pertinent. A better way to handle customers concerns is by responding with something like, "I understand you're frustrated. What are some steps we can take to resolve this issue and make it better for you?" Any level of understanding and empathy goes a long way. Especially considering my last two appointments that were urgent got completely derailed by their office. Another note that I left out of my last review but I'll be including this time is my experience with another dentist at the office. To be clear, he no longer works there. I had to go in for a simple extraction. He injected me with septocane and other numbing agents NINE TIMES to no avail. NINE TIMES! That's absolutely unheard of. How does someone not have PTSD from that kind of experience? He kept trying to pull the tooth even when it wasn't numb! Can you imagine how painful that was? Once Dr. Kellogg stepped in on the next appointment, he injected me one time and I was numb. Clearly the other dentist had no clue how to numb the tooth. I really didn't want to leave a bad review for Hometown Dental because I like the office setup and Dr. Kellogg, but after these multiple bad experiences I'll never go back again. The continue hounding me over a $275 bill. I've paid my bills in full After every single visit and they are hounding me over a co pay. Yes there is a 90-day period until it's sent to bill collectors. But being rude and not addressing a patient's concerns is not how you acquire a past due balance. I felt like I was being harassed by a bill collector. I went to this office for years and it's a shame I have to go elsewhere but I'm not putting up with rude and insensitive behavior. Be kind and understanding especially in a customer service role. I can't say I'd recommend this office... too many variables that can make you have a poor experience...
