Triad Kids Dental - Winston-Salem University Parkway

Fantastic experience: My first time being at the Winston-Salem office everyone was friendly! This was my grandson 2nd time and he was happy to go. Facility was nice and clean friendly staff, doctor's all very friendly!

Fantastic experience: Dr Orr, Avionna and Nayeli were all great. My son has sensory issues and has always done so/so at the dentist but this appointment he did everything even X-rays. The staff was very professional and helpful. We will definitely be back in 6 months. Thanks again

Fantastic experience: We were a few minutes late and still got to see the dentist. We were treated with respect and my child was made to feel comfortable and everything was explained to her as it was being done so she was aware and felt in control. We have another appointment next week to have her procedure done. I have high hopes that her appointment then will go as well as this one.

Negative experience: This place is HORRIBLE. A puppy mill for kids! My child got his first filling done here. The laughing gas mask kept popping off throughout the procedure. The dentist seemed irritated the entire time. After work was complete they informed me he did horrible and that they refused to do any sort of work without sedating him first. I was watching the entire time and thought he did great! Chalk it to mothers intuition we switched practices to Mt Airy Pediatrics and he got his other cavity filled as well as one tooth pulled in one visit and the doctor kept raving about how well he did. Said he was one of her best clients ever. If this practice recommends work other than cleanings on your child...RUN!! They are just in it for as much money as they can make meaning they won't take time to explain things to your child or you. They want to set a 20 minute appointment to get you in and out as fast as possible so they can move on to the next paycheck. I can't recommend Mt Airy Pediatrics enough...they are phenomenal, honest, and patient. We will never recommend Triad Pediatrics to anyone!

Fantastic experience: Excellent care. They treat all children gently, with respect and kindness. They also specialize in bringing anxiety down and working with special needs, such as autism. Nothing is forced and everything is explained to help parents and children feel comfortable. Wonderful, understanding staff!

Fantastic experience: Staff is always friendly. Dr. Hsu was amazing with my son and was able to get a procedure done with no issues that other doctor were unsuccessful before. Dr. Hsu is the best!

Positive experience: Just had my son’s first dentist visit and was very pleased with the care he received! We encountered gentle and caring staff. Updated review: we have since found a different practice we prefer. They were playing Maleficent in the waiting room and on every little tv screen in the place, it about gave my 3 year old a heart attack. Maybe I should’ve spoken up at the time but also, it’s a kids practice I wasn’t expecting something scary to be on.

Fantastic experience: Finding a Pediatric dentist for my special needs son has been a challenge to say the least. I feel like we hit the lottery with Tiad Kids Dental. They not only welcomed him, but treated him with care, compassion and were so sensitive to his needs. The WHOLE staff is wonderful and amazing!!

Fantastic experience: Myself and my three kids love Triad Dental! My oldest had a traumatic experience at a different dentist office and he has been terrified of the dentist ever since, but Triad dental is very patient, friendly, understanding and does everything in their power to make my kids feel comfortable. The inside of the building is very kid friendly with a play place, tablets, and a kid movie playing on a big screen in the lobby. Every exam chair has a tv on the ceiling playing a kid friendly movie to help the kids be distracted & comfortable. They are pretty quick at calling you back for your appointment, the longest I’ve had to wait was 10 minutes but with everything in the lobby for kids to do they are occupied. All the staff members are friendly & professional. The ONLY some what negative thing I have to say about them is their scheduling is months out so if your needing work done quick, it’s hard to get an appointment that’s not at least a month to two months out. Recently they have been booked 3 months out so don’t cancel your appointment or you’ll have to wait another 3 months more than likely! Other than that we absolutely love this place!

Fantastic experience: Triads Kids Dental (Winston Salem) is so great! My kids really enjoy going there AND getting their prize, sticker & ballon when their cleaning is finished! All of the staff members are very friendly, kind and knowledgeable. They are very caring, and they really take their time with cleanings. They are also gentle! We have been going here for several years and are always very happy with them! The office is always very clean and well organized. 10/10, Highly Recommend!!

Today we had Avionna assist us through out our visit, she was very pleasant, very attentive with my son. Both her and the dentist answered my questions and concerns. Fantastic experience: We had an amazing experience at this dental office! My son, who is 5, was initially hesitant about his visit, but TISH, the dental hygienist, was absolutely wonderful. THANK YOU TISH FOR ALL THAT YOU DO YOU'RE AMAZING!!! She made him feel so comfortable and at ease, and by the end of the appointment, he didn’t want to leave and even looked forward to his next visit! Dr. Olivia was fantastic as well, she was very thorough in explaining everything about my son's teeth and future needs, which gave me great peace of mind. Fantastic experience: This was my first time visiting this facility because I just moved here. Olivia at the front desk was great and very patient with me with working the iPad and signing in because I didn’t have my insurance card. Nelson was very gentle with my som while doing his X-rays as well as his cleaning. He was also very polite and did a fantastic job. And then Alexander the dentist looked at my baby teeth and her energy was amazing. I am thankful that I found my son an amazing dental office in Winston Salem and I highly recommend them ❤️

Fantastic experience: Had my son’s first dentist appointment here today and the customer service was amazing. Leslie, Alexis, and Dr. Gordon were all super friendly and helped my son feel welcomed and safe even though he was very nervous. Everything was really clean and had lots of toys for kids and even a little play place. We can’t wait to go back!

Positive experience: We typically love coming here because they always make our girl feel comfortable. This past time not so much. We couldn’t do an X-ray the previous visit because my daughter struggles with sensory processing disorder. So this time, when we came in and did the weigh in and height, the nurse completely rushed her, which most definitely put her on edge. So then I had to talk her through the weigh in and everything because of it. So by the time we get to the room the nurse mentions that they wouldn’t “even be trying the xray because of how the weigh in was” today. That really hurt to hear that they didn’t even want to try…because of her being upset over being rushed earlier, which wasn’t her fault. I didn’t care for it. Please don’t rush the littles, I know everyone has somewhere to be and do, but these kids are already a little on edge being at the dentist’ office alone. Luckily we’ve moved and won’t be coming back to this location.

Fantastic experience: Great location. Wonderful decor for the kids. They have up to date technology and activities for the children. There is also a mini theatre beside the mini jungle gym built inside for the kiddos with lots of energy. Triad dentistry has friendly helpful staff. The dentist is one of the smartest sweetest women I have ever met. They are exceptionally excellent.

Fantastic experience: I've been taking my kids here for about a year and a half and they absolutely love it! I've always had a phobia of the dentist due to past experiences, but the all the staff here are great! Dr. Zac and Mrs. Tish are amazing!! They work with the kids so well! The lobby has also been renovated very nicely to provide the children with things to do while waiting.

Fantastic experience: Our receptionist was Olivia, our dental assistant was Morgan K, and our dentist was Dr. Orr. They all showed kindness and compassion to my son and I. They made sure my boy was comfortable and treated him with great care. This staff is amazing!

Negative experience: We had the worst experience!! Do NOT trust their watches if they tell you your child has one. They will turn into a crown treatment plan in 6 months...they also told me they put sealant on my daughters 4 molars. When I went for a second opinion bc our experience was so awful. My child did not need a crown like they had said she did and there was 0 sealant on her upper teeth. They only sealed one tooth!!! Now I've called to discuss this and was promised a call back and haven't heard a word!

Fantastic experience: ***UPDATE..... immediately after my initial review, they contacted me, got right down to the problem, and completely fixed it (that employee had previous complaints on her and was let go... thank goodness). Since then we have had no other issues and my kids still go to their office for services. They've been really great since and I appreciate all they did/have done for us, especially my oldest son. (Initial review) I'll make this as short as I can but I was referred here by a friend who raved about this place. I've also heard good things from a few other ppl and since our dentist retired I decided to take my kids there. My oldest is autistic so before I even went I called, explained my concerns, and they were confident they could provide the care he needed. They even have an extra form to fill out for children on the autism spectrum so they can be more aware of each individuals specific needs..... unfortunately, after the initial effort they put thru (convincing me this would be a good experience for him), the DA that helped him was less than concerned with his needs. She wasn't very sympathetic at all to what worked best for him. Even after I expressed my concerns and provided info for her to help him (which was also provided on the specific form I filled out), she still disregarded everything I said and did her own thing. Now my son surprisingly did a lot better this time than he's ever done but he is also a lot older and the DA didn't really give him much choice so I stood over them and helped him as much as I could since she didn't. I will say I was most impressed with the dentist who came to examine him tho. He on the other hand asked me everything he could to help my son feel comfortable. He knew what was going on and explained it all to my son and for that I am truly grateful. He even went above and beyond telling the DA that because he is autistic he was creating his future appointments to fit his needs and not going by what she had originally suggested and he came to this conclusion based on my son's disability which was greatly appreciated on my end. My son has another appt with this office in 3 months. The only reason I want to try again is because of the dentist and the environment of the office because it does seem to be a very kid friendly place but if next time doesn't go well I'll be looking to move him again, unfortunately.

Positive experience: My initial thoughts of this place of business was not good. I talk with the office manager about why my son was not being scheduled for his procedure. It took them months for him to even get scheduled and they had no valid reason as to why he was not being scheduled. Only that there was a “waiting list” which we never got put on. Scheduling sucks. BUT…………..Once he got scheduled and we started the process, the doctor { Dr. Gordon} and the woman assisting her {Mrs.Morgan} not sure her title, were the best thing that could have happened to my son being there. They made his experience so easy going, comfortable, warming and inviting among other things. Their vibe and cohesiveness is amazing and I would trust them with all 4 of my kids. They were truly a blessing to my son during his procedure and I thank them so much. They are the best thing that office has. That doctors skills are amazing and she’s amazing at dealing with children.

Fantastic experience: If you have multiple kids, this is the place to go. I was able to have 3 of my kids seen at the same time and they were so great with them! And while we wait or fill paperwork out my kids can play in play area or watch a movie !

Fantastic experience: Great place compared to my childrens old dentist. Everyone is super friendly. This place is definitely kid oriented. Play area for kids, games and a TV all in the lobby. Back in dental area there are tvs on the walls and cealing, very nice in keeping children distracted. Very happy I am able to go back with my children and be there for them. It definitely makes puts them more at ease. I recommend this place to everyone I know with kids .

Today his visit went very well and we were all so happy.. she entertained him to help by singing along with her assistant.. I recommend her!!!

I was surprised by my granddaughter 's response to her teeth cleaning for 3 year old I was very proud of her nd the gentleness of the stff nd doctors.

Fantastic experience: Triad Kids Dental is amazing. I had an appointment schedule for my 3 littles 6 and under and it went so smoothly. We checked in and were seen within 5 minutes of check in the entire appointment for 3 children went by in only 1 hour. I totally recommend!

Negative experience: This place is terrible. They have given my 4 year old the run around for months just to do one filling. We went for a cleaning last month and ended up finding another filling on the tooth beside it. Considering my daughter has asthma, they decided they will need to go to a surgical center. We knew that back in the last appointments and still no sense of urgency to get my daughter an appointment to have them filled. Here we are month June, they cancelled her appointment OVER THE PHONE the same day. Misplaced her forms the first time. I didn’t complain about redoing them in June because I just want it done asap! This place is trash! They do not make YOUR child a priority when it’s THEIR turn. Lack urgency, make it very inconvenient for parents, and couldn’t care less about easing children’s pain. Done with them!

Fantastic experience: The ladies on the phone were very friendly. The place is very kid friendly designed. The dentist Dr Hsu was very informative. He was very patient with my kids, and made sure us as parents understood everything we were told. I'm very thankful for a place that can give my kids a pleasant experience, so they will continue going, willingly. Been visiting this office for a few years now. Still only positive experiences.

Fantastic experience: This entire organization is amazing!! This particular office on university parkway, is amazing-Tastic!!! From entry to exit they helped me get my appts set and with the right location, took care of my child’s dental work with ease and care! We love it here! 10/10!!

Fantastic experience: My daughter Aubree had dental work under conscious sedation for the first time, with Dr.Hsu at Triad Kids Dental in Winston-Salem yesterday. We are so thankful for them providing exceptional care & making the experience magical for her!✨ He first gave her the “Magical Princess Potion” before heading back. They removed the small “Cavity Bugs” & replaced them with little sparkling “princess crowns”! He even SAVED the two back teeth another dentist told us would have to be extracted! Aubree was so calm the whole time, even when getting the numbing shots! From the moment we walked back, they made her feel so comfortable & explained everything to her & to us, he was answering alll of our questions without us having to ask any! They gave her a blanket, a little pillow, played soothing music, let her pick the movie to watch, & darkened the room. They would tell her that her teeth were sparkling & how beautiful they were as they were doing their work. We couldn’t thank Dr.Hsu & his assistant enough for providing such great care! I wish I could remember the assistants name, but she was so sweet! When finished, she kept us for a few more minutes just to make sure Aubree was doing alright before letting us leave & brought her some water to drink. She also went over everything Dr.Hsu said with us again & we appreciated her taking the time to do all of that!. 10/10 phenomenal job, definitely exceeded our expectations!

Negative experience: My daughter had a loose tooth, and the doctor recommended taking it out at home. If I went to the clinic, it's because I can't do it at home. They make you go and they don't try to do the treatment because they don't have time, because they don't have doctors. If you don 't have staff , you shouldn 't schedule appointments .

Fantastic experience: Wonderful environment for kids. Kid friendly, the office it self is kids focus to help keep kids freely safe and assured. With tv and play area. My son been going to them for years . I have never had a complaint.

Fantastic experience: Hygienist ashley and Dr. Zac did a phenomenal job with my daughter. Having a child with ASD you never know what you're gonna get when in the doctors or dentist office but they handled her quickly professionally and had a happy patient when we were done. Having a welcoming environment for children makes this place an amazing option for parents of littles who don't like tooth brush time. 10/10 best experience.

Fantastic experience: I switched my son to Triad Dental from Kidsmile because they’re more professional and friendly. My kids love the electronic games and movies in the lobby and I love getting in and out of office within one hour or less.

Fantastic experience: Awesome! My son was previously scared of his old dentist (Smile Starters on Peterscreek) and it was making him fearful of even his Pediatrician too. On his first visit he said he had FUN . The people there where so nice he really enjoyed the environment and all the kid amenities! Thank you so much he is looking forward for his next visit! I am still in shock !!

Fantastic experience: We love Triad Family Dental! My kids enjoy going to the dentist. The environment they create with the games, balloons, stickers and prizes makes it enjoyable for the kids and they want to come back! The staff are very friendly and always make me and my children comfortable.

Negative experience: The dentist herself was very nice to my daughter. However, I feel the staff overall could have been more personable as I talked my scared 3 year old through the appointment more than the staff did. They seemed annoyed that she was crying and couldn’t sit in the chairs all the way laid back and needed a room where she could sit with me. The girl is 3 and has never been to a dentist before and was physically SHAKING!! I felt embarrassed, overwhelmed, and mom-shamed when I was told “let me figure out where to put you” like it was an inconvenience. The people at check in and check out were not even a little bit personable. I was visibly overwhelmed by the extremely high copay (I have insurance) and the referral to Greensboro for dental surgery and they didn’t really care. I don’t even know exactly which teeth (other than the obvious 2 front ones that need work) are getting fillings/crowns. They seemed like their only goal was to get me in and out as fast as possible . I will be asking my own dentist for a better referral before my daughter is due for another check up. I sat in my car and cried for 10 minutes before driving home. I will not be back to this office.

Fantastic experience: My 2 year old had her first appointment today and this facility and the staff exceeded my expectations! They made her so comfortable and happy that I’m sure she’ll be excited for her next visit. The care & compassion by the dentist was incredible. 10 stars!

Negative experience: MAJOR SCHEDULING ISSUES!!!! Major issues getting records faxed over to other dentists! They are not patient with children who make a little fuss about getting their teeth cleaned. We were back for less than five minutes and they said we’re not doing the cleaning, and just did a fluoride treatment. We switched to another dentist who is so patient and works with your child (when they may put up a fuss or are apprehensive about the dentist) and my daughter got her teeth cleaned no problem. Also Don’t go here if you expect to get any dental work done for your child…. My daughter is in pain and I’m need of a dental work via general anesthesia. This has been more than 1 month ago and still have yet to be scheduled for them to fix it, after calling they say “you are on the list to be called, we aren’t scheduling out that far.” Still waiting to be called. They don’t seem to care if your child is in pain, only if their teeth get infected will they do anything for an “emergency” appointment so you pay extra costs. Thanks for wasting my time and my money, because I now have to go somewhere else and start over with another dentist!

Fantastic experience: Absolutely amazing! From the beginning to the end the staff was fabulous for my almost 1 yr old, 8 yr old, and 12 yr old. My two older kids were super scared about this first appointment until they walked into the super fun lobby and had the best staff help them with everything. I am incredibly thankful my kids now have a dentist they want to go see! The office was clean with a fun environment and most friendliest staff! My 12 yr old already told her best friend she needs to go to her dentist!

We made the switch a couple of years back and I have not once been disappointed or concerned during or after my kids appointments. They are so good with kids and genuinely care about them. They are gentle and kind and have the patience necessary when working with children.

Fantastic experience: The BEST dental experience ever !!! Dr. Alexander is the best pediatric dentist I have ever encountered. She is truly great at what she does, working with children is not easy but she does it effortlessly.

Fantastic experience: Excellent experience every time for us, my kids feel so comfortable here it's a place built with kids in mind for sure. From the decorations to the games and little surprises the kids get after each visit my kids look forward to going here. Also the dentist my children see is always so kind.

Negative experience: I've had 4 children that have been cared for by this practice, two of which are now grown. This place used to be awesome but it most recently seems more like a not so fun dental carousel for children. First, the lead times on appointments has gotten ridiculous. So to now get a cavity filled you have to wait 6 months before the first available appointment. Both my daughters conditions worsened since the last visit where they had to wait so long to get their treatments. My youngest daughter initially had one cavity that has to be filled today. Today we learned that more had developed now on the same side, requiring a different treatment plan around 8 times more than the initial plan (just to clarify, ITS NOT ABOUT THE MONEY). Her mouth has sooo much silver in it now. Regardless that she had an older crown which was ceramic. IMO, if one is ceramic would you not want the others to be? Also, I was under the assumption that the silver fillings can leave traces of heavy metals in your blood. In hindsight I should have demanded my youngest revised treatment plan be split up, but, then again lead times. Ironically her treatment plan was for a crown. Oh, forgot to mention my other daughter was also seen today. Surprise! She also required additional work from the extended lead times as her cavity had now spread to the nerve. Oh and her crown was silver too. The information was a lot to digest and essentially I was given a price and told to sign on the line. Never once was I told these were going to be silver. I was just told "crown". Unfortunately I didn't even notice these crowns until arriving home. Then my daughters were finally able to start smiling and opening their mouths. That's when I noticed that both of their smiles are now darker. I have never in my entire life as a grown man had my heart broken in such devastation as such as their once beautiful smiles now being gone. They were not walked out, given any of the normal prizes or balloons. Just a really bad experience today and as a parent I am truly heartbroken that my beautiful daughter's smiles are now darkened by these silver crowns. The worst part of it all is now they both have anxiety about the dentist and now and are already pleading that I never take them back.

Fantastic experience: Today was my sons first dentist visit, and my first time as a mom taking my child. It was very welcoming and my son thought he was at a play place! Even when we were taken back, he sat in my lap for his cleaning, and not once was uncomfortable. Triad Kids Dental of Winston-Salem truly does strive to keep both kids and parents comfortable!

Fantastic experience: I brought my 4 year old to his first ever dentist appointment today. He is autistic and has some sensory issues so I’ve been dreading the visit. Dr. Alexander and her assistant Brittany M. were amazing with him, they were both attentive and friendly and reassuring to me. The waiting room has a climbing structure that he loved. 10/10 best pediatric dentist I’ve ever been to (I have two teens as well)

Fantastic experience: Had a double apt for my 2 kids. They were both seen in a timely manner, I was able to go back and forth to check on them both. They have a movie playing at every chair and the staff was wonderful! Couldn't have asked for a better experience!

Fantastic experience: My 4 kids were seen today. X-rays, cleanings, Doctor's exams and return appointments were set all within a 1 hour window. They are amazing! Highly recommended!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Hsu was amazing with my son. He went above and beyond to help my son, who was scared, to feel better throughout his procedure. The staff was attentive, kind and professional, especially Brittany who worked along side Dr. Hsu! Also , the waiting area is very clean, decorative, as well a play place and technology for the children.

Positive experience: Loved the environment. Very clean and kid friendly. The dentist was excellent. The hygienist did not seem comfortable doing her job. She had to ask for input more than once and then caked sealant on my daughter's teeth. The dentist had to sand it back off. Not the best experience.

Negative experience: My son had an appointment 1/27, was told he needed some fillings and some extractions. Two weeks later no one calls to schedules an appointment so i call and the receptionist told me they are full with scheduling and I should receive a call back by the second week of March. I called back 3/23 and a different receptionist told me they we’re waiting on clearance from his primary DR. So I then called his PCP, they never received any paperwork from 1/27. Now i called Triad Dental back within 10 mins and a different receptionist said they never sent the PCP any paperwork because they did not have the fax number in my son’s chart. So I provided the fax number , she basically took a message and told me someone would call me back. 2 months of waiting and they dropped the ball from day 1. I do not recommend

Negative experience: Im highly disappointed in this place. My children were sick and I had to reschedule and I could never get in without it being 3-5 months out. I canceled due to sickness. When they have cancelled on me I haven’t complained. They don’t care about the well being of the children. My children have gone without an appointment for over 7 months. They can’t ever get them in. The staff is nice I will say. The service could be better. I am searching for a new dentist.

Fantastic experience: From the second you walk in this office is impressive. The lobby was so amazing with all the play areas and theater, that my son did not want to leave. The front desk staff were so friendly and because I registered before we sat straight down. They called us back so quickly and I was happy to be able to go back with him. Everyone that saw my son was friendly, quick, more than willing to give information and answer questions, and really reassuring that he would be taken good care of. I wish that they took adults. They did a great job from start to finish.

Positive experience: I was really pleased with the service and kind treatment given to my four year old son today by Dr. Alexander. I was also impressed by the knowledge and bedside manner of one of the dental assistants named Kalandra. She went out of her way to get my son, who has autism, a clearer X-ray after he was struggling a bit. Empathy goes a long way, and I greatly appreciate small kindnesses.

Fantastic experience: They are ver great with kids. They work with not only the children, but the parents. While waiting to even go back they have a playground, some tablets, and some machine games. They are just great . Very friendly, accommodating, an very understanding. I highly recommend anyone in surround areas of Winston for dental to got to triad dental for kids.

Fantastic experience: When my kids and I walked in we were amazed, there are tablets and a play area for smaller children. The service was amazing as well. I was allowed to go in the back with my children, they were really really nice, and they did a wonderful job. We had a great visit overall and I recommend any and everyone to join.

Negative experience: We did NOT have a good experience today. First off, my son's appointment was at 10AM. They didn't call us back until 10:30 and they didn't even let me come back! Only one parent could come back and the nurse seemed irritated about it. So I let my son's dad go back with him. He ended up getting 3 fill-ins and that took THREE HOURS! Upon arrival to pick them up, they didn't even give discharge instructions. I literally had to call the clinic and ask what the instructions were. I don't even know when he's supposed to return because they didn't give ANY of that information. I'll be actively looking for my son another dentist because this experience was byfar the worst that I've ever experienced for a 4 year old child.

Fantastic experience: The facility and staff are superb snd extremely friendly. They took great care of my twins for their procedures and walk them through each step to have them remain calm and I felt very comfortable as they too kept me relaxed. I love this dental office it is very clean and children friendly and is the best dental office we've been to in winston-salem. Check them out you won't be disappointed.

Fantastic experience: The entire staff has been phenomenal. All of the dental assistants and hygienists are amazing and friendly; warm and welcoming, calming and reassuring. It’s nice to see consistent faces every time we come to the office. You’re treated like a member of their family, not just a patient/chart number. Dr Orr is great, very thorough and careful with her work and makes sure you understand what’s going on before during and after procedures. I love it! My kids look forward to coming to the dentist. Every experience has been awesome.

Negative experience: Took my son in October. My appointment was at 9 waited for 15 mins in waiting room. Got put in a room for 1 hour before dentist came in. He was supposed to get 1 thing fixed and then they tell me he needs more done. I regret letting them do it. He didn't need all that work done. Not happy with the results. I feel bad because I let them do it and ruined his smile. I don't recommend this place.

Negative experience: Was told the only way to have my child’s teeth corrected was for general anesthesia to be used. That she was too small to try to do a few at a time. And when I spoke to the anesthesiologist, was told we could try my way first and see how things went. Tried to calling to get an appointment scheduled was transferred around and around and never got to talk to anyone. I will not recommend this place. Went elsewhere for treatment and my child did not have to be put under general anesthesia for treatment. Please don’t let this place try to bully you into only doing it their way.
