Millersville Family Dentistry

Negative experience: This place will sneak in non-covered services to vulnerable patients that have Medical Assistance. My Autistic 24yr old son came in for an extraction and signed what he thought was consent for the extraction. Apparently it was a treatment plan they had put together that included services that weren't covered and none of this was verbalized to him. Normally I would've been right with him however that day I was sick and I stayed in the car so I wouldn't be around everyone in the office. It is my understanding that providers work within the perimeters of the patients insurance and an extraction is a covered service. For them to add non-covered services and not verbalize them to a vulnerable patient is wrong-plain and simple, just to hand him a clipboard while he's in the chair and have him sign with no explanation is shady business. When I called the insurance they looked at what the practice submitted and everything was covered so there shouldn't have been any copays. The woman at the office who handles billing kept trying to shut me down and gaslighted me saying over and over that "He signed the treatment plan..." and there's "Nothing that can be done..." Patients Beware!!!

Negative experience: Do not recommend. My first appointment there the tech talked about her at home problems the ENTIRE time with my mouth wide open for over an hour. super awkward as I wasn’t talking back. Second appointment went by within ten minutes with the doctor so idk what that lady was doing the first time. now this third appointment they forced me to do x-rays or would not do my cleaning. I have no prior dental problems or anything that would indicate I needed mandatory x-rays to do a CLEANING. so i left and i went to talk to someone on the phone… i left a voicemail over a week now and have not heard a thing back. I do not recommend. very slow, long wait times and mandatory radiation is absurd.

Fantastic experience: I want to express my sincere appreciation for Millersville Family Dentistry for their outstanding service. Once, had to switch due to a change in insurance. During that time, I visited another dental office and quickly realized the superior customer service and dental care I had grown accustomed to at Millersville Family Dentistry . As soon as I was able to change my insurance back, I returned to Millersville Family Dentistry. The quality of care and the professionalism of their staff truly made a significant difference to me.

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience at the dentist on Wednesday. Dimitri was great and make me feel calm. Usually i am very nervous at the dentist. Thank you. I went back on 8-4-2021 for a cavity fill-in. I really had an awesome experience with the dentist. I always have a nice visit here. Definitely will be staying here for as long as possible.

Negative experience: Update as of 9/25/25: I'm not sure if something happen with this staff or what but this office is has changed. Canceling appointments, charging for services not rendered, making us do an appointment (waste time in pain) knowing you don't handle the type of service that needs to be done. They are no longer the dental office I used to know and we are changing offices to Dr. Cherry in Glen Burnie. And it just so happens we've also been notified that they are no longer accepting the Federal Dental plan come October...so it was great timing. Review 2 yrs ago: Great experience and super friendly staff. The front desk staff were all smiles! I was seen at my appointed time. They even squeezed me in for my cleaning, which was actually a month later, saving me time off work. The doctor and dental hygienist were thorough with the exam and cleaning. This was probably the best cleaning I've ever had. Highly recommend and this will now be my dentist of choice.

Negative experience: I've been a loyal patient at this office for years. Never missed an appointment. However today I was running 25 minutes late due transportation issues. I get a call from Stephanie who chastised me for not showing up on time. I tried to push the time back or reschedule. She seemed like she took it personally. She insisted that I pay $50 for my 1st time being 25 minutes late. Personally I feel like thats a bit of an extreme penalty to fine someone $50 for being 25 minutes late. So I called Erin the manager. She was also unwavering and stood on policy as if that fee has never been waived before for a 1st time offense. Oh well, if they don't appreciate the long term value of their clientel then I'll just move on.

Positive experience: Was a patient here over the last few years. I admit that my dental health was poor however, not everyone has dental insurance or trusts dentists. Let me say that from the beginning the treatment plans, services rendered and billed are questionable. On one visit the dentist had me there for hours for cavities in which the dentist would work on me and then leave to work on another patient. I highly believe that this affected the treatment and filling of cavity. Later the tooth cracked and I was called out by this location for raising concerns about the cracked tooth - mind u I have had cavities since childhood that lasted longer until my adulthood! I don’t know if it’s the product being used for the cavities or the dentists. Let’s talk about the hygienist they once had who talked uncontrollably while the cleaning was performed- the talk was rambling and not anything related to dental health and hygiene- the water temp was cold and uncomfortable and the cleaning was terrible. It gave me a panic attack! I learned nothing from this place other than to keep receipts and records of every treatment plan, payment and when I questioned a root canal I was later told I didn’t need it. The dentist and the front office lady both verbally told me I needed a root canal- later turns out only a crown was needed. I do have the receipt and it did show crown but the verbal statement made was “ root canal “- I paid a deposit that was needed for “root canal “ and when I went elsewhere to get a second opinion this place refused the refund of the deposit- had several of their staff call me to question me and dispute what I was verbally told on the day I paid deposit. dental work should be guaranteed and now I have to pay higher fees for a service on a tooth/teeth this place previously handled. I was sent a termination letter after they refunded the money however their services, plans and patient rights were violated & all questionable. The board of dentistry does exist and patients can write about their experiences and file a complaint but not a complaint about fee disputes. Mu dispute is against the treatment plans and treatment towards patients. What gives them the right to question a patient about delay in dental care- especially when the patient’s health has been impacted negatively by surgeries, cancers and aging and the patient financially is struggling. When I originally voiced concerns about the dental treatment in the past it was obvious the staff was annoyed by my later visits . Thankfully I found a professional dental location that actually helps you understand dental health and hygiene and treatment plans and listens to your concerns. I hope this place does better. Where is the patient care and compassion?

Fantastic experience: Millersville Family Dentistry has always been friendly and professional. I love the dentists and staff. It really is a very nice practice. I have been a patient for quite a few years now and as of September 2025, I still feel the same about this practice.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Ziad and his practice are fantastic. They were able to see me the next day after calling. Everyone was super nice, friendly, welcoming, polite and professional. I was in and out seamlessly. I had not been to the dentist in a while and they took great care of me. They took x-rays on two different machines. Dr. Ziad took his time, gently and methodically examining and cleaning my teeth. He was very careful and aware of the sensitivity to some of the cavities in my mouth and made sure I was alright, which was a relief. Dr. Ziad thoroughly explained the issues with some of my teeth. He also gave a number of different courses of action that he could perform to rectify those issues. I highly recommend Dr. Ziad and his practice. I am very happy and thankful to have found a great dentist that cares about his patients wellbeing and shows it by taking his time being very careful NOT to cause pain! THANK YOU!

Negative experience: STAY AWAY!!!  I was a patient here for over two years, longer than I should have been. Twice in less than a year this practice cancelled my appointments without my knowledge, and without any notification that this occurred. It wasn’t until I showed up for the appointment when I found out that my appointment had been cancelled. The time taken from work, time spent to go there, were all for nothing. I was even turned away from schedule appointments due to “training,” in which I was told it was a, “training day, and I would need to come back another time.”  The customer service is outright non-existent.

Negative experience: Absolutely DO NOT GO HERE. Everyone has horrible customer service, down to the receptionists. My mother got a crown here and has had to go back twice after it cracked. Go to ANY OTHER DENTIST IN THE AREA.

Positive experience: I had to have scaling done on both sides, and the receptionists, dentist, and dental hygienist were very friendly and professional. The office is clean and there has been little to no wait times at all of my visits. I highly recommend this practice.

No other dentist has ever been able to convince me to take flossing and gum care seriously but Dr. Ahmed succeeded .He takes the time to explain what he's doing and why. He truly wants you to take care of your teeth, not make money by suggesting procedures you don't need or badmouth other dentists for previous work on your teeth. I've experienced this in the past, but as true professional Dr. Ahmed took the time to explain why one could have done things differently through objective, criticism-free and plausible reasoning, and when it comes to cosmetics procedures I go every time knowing in confidence the potential good outcome! The assistants and receptionists are very friendly and helpful - I was even able to change the appointment via text message. It just makes you feel like they legitimately care about you as a patient. My experience was still five star from the receptionist to my new dentist, same good hospitality and same excellent treatment! I was in and out! and was very comfortable, 6 stars, thanks.

Fantastic experience: My family has been going to Millersville Family Dentistry for years. Dr. Ahmed is professional and has excellent bedside manner. The dental hygienists, Dmitri and Jenn, are caring and skilled professionals. We are always impressed by the staff’s professionalism and friendliness. Jenn is an incredibly thoughtful hygienist. My wife and I typically schedule our dental cleanings in staggered appointments, but recently booked our first same-time cleanings with Dmitri and Jenn, leaving our highly interested and energetic toddler to wait in the room with my wife and Jenn. Jenn graciously spent her time entertaining our daughter during the dental cleaning. Between each step of the cleaning process, she welcomed our curious little one to observe and participate. She gave her a mask, gloves, and hair cap so she could play hygienist for the day. She even explained how she uses each of the tools and let her help out with “brushing mommy’s teeth”. She is easily the most warm and nurturing hygienist we’ve had the pleasure of visiting. Millersville Family Dentistry certainly removes any of the stigma and fear of going to the dentist, and we are so happy to have found them!

Negative experience: DO NOT GO TO DENTIST MOHAMMAD AHMED. Though the people at the front desk are kind and nice. He is an AWFUL dentist. He doesn’t take his patients concerns properly. And if confused, he has raised his voice before multiple occasions. Super hard to see in front of my own eyes

Negative experience: I was in desperate need for help nine days ago. I asked for an appointment online and called and left a message. My face was swollen and I had to have a tooth removed. No one ever got back to me, not even by today. Luckily I found a dentist in Crofton that actually cared and got back to me immediately. I get that you all are probably busy but come on. Maybe give a care for people in need.

Fantastic experience: I have to say that as a person who fears dentists more than a natural disaster I found my experience with this office both pleasurable and reassuring. All staff are pleasant, helpful and non judgemental. Dr Ahmed and his very gracious assistant Ellen were kind and knowledgeable. I highly recommend Family Dentistry in Millersville.

Fantastic experience: I've only had one visit with them so far but I can say it went very smoothly, everyone in the office is so nice, friendly and helpful. They had me in an out didn't wait to long to be taken back and seen. They get 5 stars from me so far!!

Negative experience: I came to this practice because they were the only one I could find that took the new adult healthy smiles medicaid program and that had openings to be seen. For background, I am disabled due to struggles with chronic illness, namely hyperacusis (too much or too loud noise causes physical discomfort and pain that can potentially be long lasting) from nerve damage, and an immune disorder that can trigger a variety of symptoms from often mundane irritants; I have to avoid many medications, use certain soaps, wear certain clothes, eat certain foods, etc. These both used to be so severe I was housebound for multiple years, and it has taken over half a decade of diligent work with a dedicated doctor to reach the point I can even do things like dental work. I mentioned the hyperacusis to staff no less than 4 times for my first appointment requesting simply to give me a few seconds break every little bit and respect if I need to stop for a moment; dental work has left me in discomfort for days before, once even causing a re-injury that lasted months. The dentist however did not only seem to not heed this, in response to the discomfort on my face and occasional flinch even had the audacity to stop and say "you're numb it's only pressure and vibration it can't hurt you" as if bone conducted drill noise wasn't feeling like a little knife being jabbed into my ear repeatedly. I also told them that I tend to react a bit to anesthetic but usually not enough to be problematic, however during a later appointment for an extraction the doctor used 3 nerve blocks and then more anesthetic local to the tooth and it reached the point I had a short seize; eyes roll back, repeated involuntary blinking, can't move or speak, etc. This is a symptom I had not experienced for about 2 years at this point. Not only did the dentist not even notice, as they put their instruments in my mouth as it was ending I made an alarmed noise and had to ask them to wait while I collected myself to make sure I was able to continue and during this time the doctor was once again impatient, dismissive, and even told me it was impossible for me to experience problems from the anesthetic because the area was numb (you heard it here folks, no harm can come to you from anything being injected into your body as long as the area is numb from anesthetic) and that it was just anxiety. So glad this dentist was also a neurologist, immunologist, psychologist and infectious disease specialist who was able to so quickly correct my diagnoses after 7 years of debilitating illness and disability! At this point my patience with this dentist was EXTRAORDINARILY thin but I still needed to get the dental work done somehow as the alternative of dying from an abscessed tooth infection doesn't seem pleasant, and simply insisted we stop after the extraction despite him wanting to continue and do more work. That was promptly shown to be a good call when I attempted to drive home and found my persistent sluggish feeling following my reaction to the anesthetic was more severe than it initially seemed and I struggled to get home with neurological issues like weakness in my extremities, drooping and difficulty focusing, etc. These symptoms persisted for most of the day. My doctor insisted I needed to identify what they used for the anesthetic and either try something different if possible or use less; family dentistry has still not complied with my request to know exactly what anesthetic was used that caused the reaction so I can be aware in the future, and simply required I bring someone to drive me next time. Now even after confirming my appt last week and yesterday and having a family member take off work, they call the day before and tell me the dentist is out and we can only reschedule in May after my insurance has run out and I can no longer afford to pay, leaving me with a large cavity threatening the loss of another tooth unable to be addressed. This is the 2nd time this has happened. At this point I unfortunately feel like I have no choice but to give this practice a bad rating.

Fantastic experience: I found this new dentist through my new Kaiser Permanente/Liberty Dental plan. They were friendly, efficient and used up to date equipment to assess me as a new patient. I was out on an hour including making my next appointment for a six month check up. I give them an A+.

Negative experience: My son has been a patient/client at Millersville Denistry since 2018 with consistent positive outcomes. Our visit today was not as positive. We were waiting in the dentist chair waiting for our hygienist for almost 10min. Although Mike is friendly it was very difficult to understand his questions. Additionally, he had gloves on to he the PC then immediately begins to treat my son in his open mouth. I politely asked him to change gloves before proceeding. We had a new Dr to clean his teeth. My 11yo mentioned during the X-ray the Dr and hygienist were not efficient. Per the 11uo “they didn’t know what they were doing” after several adjustments were made and Mike finally figured out how to operate tge PC we were on to the cleaning. The cleaning was uneventful and my son is cavity free. But the service at the dentistry has declined regretfully we may have to find a new dentist.

Negative experience: I usually go here for my cleanings, but my last appointment I was very dissatisfied. I got an on-lay done by them months ago, which then came off a few months later. My first appointment to get the new scan done again was fine and booked my future appointment to actually get the onlay put on. My appointment was at 5pm, they didn’t even take me to the back room until 5:30, and the doctor finally came in at 5:45. They are very behind on timing at almost every appointment. After the doctor looked at my tooth, he said the onlay wasn’t exactly right (based on the scan THEY did) and said I needed to come back another time when it is correct. They wasted an hour of my time for them to not even do anything at that appointment. Everyone there is nice, but don’t have respect for their client’s time.

Fantastic experience: I love this office! Everyone is so nice and friendly. Especially at the front desk. Due to a previous experience years ago, I was terrified to go back to a dentist. I found this office on google when I was having a dental emergency. They brought me in as quickly as possible and analyzed the tooth. I was given very clear instructions on how to resolve my issue and given a great referral to an oral surgeon for wisdom teeth removal. Later, I had a comprehensive exam and they gave me a treatment plan, that I am currently still working on. It has been a wonderful experience and I have been feeling so much better since having some extractions, fillings, and a root canal. Which were all quick and painless. Dr. Ahmed is so good at what he does. And is very gentle. Assistant Rose is also an angel. She is thorough and explained my procedures and aftercare in a way that was very easy to follow. Fantastic experience: I love this dentist. They are customer friendly. They are very accommodating. The office is clean and the wait time was under 10 minutes. This office and staff are amazing. This is not my first visit I have been attending for years.

Negative experience: This place deserves less than one star. Did a root cancanal, after 2 hours they said oh we can't do it. Went for a crown, got all numb and set there for 2 hours and was told it doesn't fit. This has happened 4 times with the crown. These people are stupid. Ridiculous idiots that only want money. I will be reporting them to the board. And I want my money back for my crown that I still don't have.

Fantastic experience: The office staff was fabulous and greeted before and after. The office is always clean. I've been going here for about 3 years now. The Dr was wonderful with the cleaning process this morning yet again and very informative about what I need to do to keep my teeth healthy. I would recommend this Dentist's office. I've seen Jen in the past and she's great too! You can't go wrong with this place.

Fantastic experience: Excellent service as always! Dr. Ahmed and his team are my favorites. Front desk staff always pleasant, no long wait for appointments, and very efficient. The procedure is painless. That being said, I am assured I’m well cared for every visit!!!

Fantastic experience: Since Covid our favorite dentist have taken things up to another level for cleanliness and care for their patients. Our kids have grown up under this great care and they treat us old folks alrighty too! This is a GREAT staff that works here! When I’ve called for service in between cleanings, the front office make sure I get the first appointment possible. They are an amazing team at this office.

Fantastic experience: Staff are always pleasant and helpful. My Dental Hygienist is quite meticulous and thorough with the cleaning. Dr. Ahmed gives a very careful examination and, unlike some previous dentists I have had, does not recommend additional expensive procedures unless clearly needed, and then only after fully showing and explaining why the work is recommended. In brief, professional service without pushing additional work unless it is clearly required.

Negative experience: DO NOT GO HERE!!! The do not care about your concerns, the hygienist destroyed my mouth cleaning so hard because she was mad her boyfriend was cheating on her (i know this because she gave me all the inappropriate details while doing so) I had a root canal and was supposed to receive a call back once insurance cleared it to have the cap put on and I never did and now they have dismissed me as a patient for missing 2 appts in 7 years because I got covid! and I have only gone there so long because I tried and couldn't get another dentist who took my insurance so I was forced to go here. but if you don't than please steer clear.
