Negative experience: Had an ortho and cleaning appointment scheduled for my daughter at 1:30. Took nearly 3 hours for appointment to be completed. When ortho only appointments are scheduled, we’re in and out but the general dental side always takes forever. The location is never appropriately staffed for the amount of appointments scheduled.

Negative experience: Schedule a appointment at 4:30 to be seen for 5 mins for them to say we can't do a cleaning today due to hygienist leaves at 5pm. They did not inform ahead of time. Didn't get called back until 5pm for a appointment that was only 5 mins.

Positive experience: The hygienist was excellent, explaining what she was doing. The first tech to do bite wings hurt me with her placement of cards in my mouth. My anxiety kicked in and with her it only deepened. The second tech was very good - she completed the bite wings quickly with no pain for me. The dentist was worried more about my anxiety and past experiences. He did not explain what he was doing neither did he talk to me personally about his recommendations. My rating reflects that. The manager was excellent in her recommendation explanations. i am an elderly patient with major mental health issues. i explained these in the hope they would have an understanding - they may have but anxiety issues overtook all. I still will go back to them , hopefully their skills as dental professionals will compensate for their inexperience working with disabled vets with mental health challenges

Negative experience: Cannot speak to anyone as they us AI. And then loops to extension that is never answered. Attempted leaving messages which have yet to be answered.

Negative experience: The orthodontics and medical assistants are very good with the patients. The front office staff including the manager Amber however is very difficult when scheduling and understanding what is going on with the appointments. They’re rude and have “they don’t need to explain mentality”. When choosing where to have my daughters orthodontic treatment I put a lot of thought into where I wanted her to go for the next few years and now the financial coordinator who spoke with me and handled the insurance and helped get my daughter started is no longer with the Smile Center. So I’m being sent back and forth with the front office schedulers who can’t answer questions about the insurance. I would definitely go to another center if I could easily switch over.

You arrive on time for your appointment and still have to wait over 2 hours or more to get seen and get procedure done. When you ask what the hold up is they say Dr will be in another hour goes by still noting worst experience ever

From the very first phone call to schedule my appointment, I was impressed by how professional and friendly the staff were. They took the time to answer my questions, help me navigate my insurance coverage, and made sure I felt comfortable before I even stepped foot in the office. When I arrived, I was greeted warmly by the front desk team and immediately noticed how clean and modern the office was. The waiting area was cozy and welcoming—not sterile or clinical like some dental offices can feel. Everything was spotless. I was called in right on time, and my dental hygienist introduced herself and made me feel completely at ease. She was kind, gentle, and incredibly thorough during the cleaning. She explained each step as she went and made sure I was comfortable throughout the entire process. I could tell she genuinely cared about doing a great job. Dr. Robert Araiza came in afterward to do my exam, and I was just as impressed. They had a calm and reassuring presence and took the time to review my X-rays and discuss what they were seeing in detail. I never felt rushed or like just another patient on the schedule. Dr.Araiza answered all of my questions in a way that was easy to understand, and even used digital images and diagrams to show me exactly what was going on with my teeth. It was clear that they value patient education and transparency, which I really appreciated. I had to return for a follow-up appointment for a small filling, and that experience was just as positive. The procedure was quick, completely painless, and the dental assistant was attentive and kind throughout. Dr. Araiza made sure I was completely comfortable and checked in with me several times during the process. It was probably the least stressful dental procedure I’ve ever had. Beyond the excellent dental care, what really stood out to me was the overall atmosphere of the office. Everyone—from the reception staff to the hygienists and the dentist—was kind, attentive, and genuinely seemed to enjoy their work. It’s rare to find a place where you feel like more than just a patient, but that’s exactly what The Smile Center offers. They treat you like a person, not a number. I highly recommend The Smile Center to anyone looking for compassionate, skilled, and trustworthy dental care. I’ve already referred several friends and family members, and I won’t be going anywhere else. Truly a top-notch experience from beginning to end.

Negative experience: The dentist Araiza, told my daughter that she had 3 cavities and referred me to a different dentist, when I took her to the other dentist he said she only had one, she also had fillings done that when she went to another dentist he said they were done wrong, he did this twice, to my son he also said he had multiple cavities, when I took him somewhere else they said he did not have any. When I voiced it to the dentist and asked if I could have a second option he became upset. So I would not recommend this place to anyone they seem to want to do unnecessary treatments on people ontop of that they keep you in the room forever, the only reason I return here is for ortho and once I'm done with that I won't be coming back.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Ahmida is very good with children of all ages, explains what he is doing and so is Dr. Araiza. Marcy, hygienist is very good and funny. Ambrosia, dentsl assist is very good and quick and Angie, manager is very helpful and quick.

Negative experience: Shy away from this place if you can. I went in for a chipped tooth and was suggested a few options but was strongly recommended braces because they had to “extract” my chipped tooth and apparently the same tooth on the other side was bad so they would have to pull that one too and have the braces close those gaps. Fast forward 2 days later, they did my fillings and put my braces on all in the same day with my chipped tooth still there. Everytime I would go in for my adjustments the Ortho doctor had no idea what was going on with my “treatment plan” he kept asking when I was going to get my tooth filled. The whole reason I have braces is because YOU people told me I needed them once I get my teeth pulled. Which also was never done. I kept having to ask when my extractions were going to get done. Never got a straight answer. It was the most unsettling feeling going here. Most front desk girls have attitude and are rude. I ended up getting a second opinion at another office and they found I still had cavities that were supposed to be “filled” from this office. Took me a month to finally get my braces off and get my money back. Everything at this office was so rushed and fast paced. Do your research of of a reputable office and stay away from this one.

Fantastic experience: Such a good experience! I’m normally very nervous at the dentist but Dr. A and his assistants help put my mind at ease they walked me though the procedure at every step! I always have a good time coming here I love chatting with the front too!

Negative experience: The front office was very nice! Once we got to the back, it was all downhill from there. First, the dental hygienist said my daughter had no cavities, and that she was very pleased at how well we had been taking care of her teeth. Then the dentist (his name starts with an A) came in, looked over her images, and said she had 6 cavities! So in minutes we went from excellent teeth to needing 6 fillings, all in the same office. The dentist nor his assistant, showed empathy for my nervous 11 year old. At the start of the procedure, I noticed my daughter’s legs were trembling. I kept telling her she was doing such a great job, and that it was almost over, since neither the dentist or assistant we saying anything to her at all. The entire 20 minutes, not one word of encouragement, or check-in to see if she was doing ok. The worst part of it all, the assistant was touching the computer mouse, the keyboard, drawer handles, reaching in her pockets for her pen, touching her phone, all with gloves, but then using those same gloves and hands to pass the dentist his instruments that he was then using in my daughters mouth. I was in disbelief! The tool he was using with the blue light over the filing had no plastic cover, and the assistant touched it several times with the same gloves she was touching the mouse and keyboard with. I spoke up and told him, “excuse me, she is touching EVERYTHING” and then handing you the instruments you’re using in my daughters mouth. He asked me if I wanted him to put a plastic cover over the blue light device?! Really?! Is this something that even needs to be requested? Isn’t that standard procedure??? I was livid. After I spoke up, the assistants attitude got worse and I could tell I had touched a nerve. That’s my daughter and you’re procedures are unsanitary. No telling what kind of cross contamination happens there! Needless to say, we WILL NOT be back there. Stay away from the Marbach location!!

Fantastic experience: Great service, went in for an extraction and was treated by Dr. Araiza, who was very attentive, helpful, and professional. He was very knowledgeable and told me exactly what to look for and what to look out for during the healing process, I must say after all of the information he provided me with I felt like a professional myself and was confident everything was healing properly. I will recommend him to anyone I know.

Fantastic experience: The smile center never fails! I love this location! The manager is always so welcoming and kind and so incredibly sweet to my children. EVERYTIME i go in, it’s always a great experience. The assistants are always ready to help with my children while I get my cleaning done and make sure I’m comfortable and my children are okay. They are never rude to my children and so helpful! Dr. Araiza is honestly the BEST DENTIST I have ever had. He is so thorough and caring about my teeth. Always has great advice and so kind to my children! Thank you! I will continue to recommend and go to this location!

Positive experience: The music playing in the back on orthodontist side is way too loud. Parents sit under the TV and it's blaring music over their heads... can't hear doctor, hygienist or anyone clearly... and the girl had actually walked up to turn it up... unprofessional a bit. They are explaining this to my kid and I can't freaking hear them. Annoyed. Let's not mention that it was more like club music than an office... yuk. Ewww, gross lol

Negative experience: This place scams you for fees. I was told a price for dental work. They kept trying to upsell me with additional services. I kept declining. And when I was brought an invoice it was 3 x the price of a year ago. When I finally agreed they came back with an additional $300 dollars added to the price. They could not itemize or explain the additional $300. They just said I’m not sure what she discussed with you but this is the price. So in 2022 I paid $300 for a Partial and 2024 $1300 for the same partial. At the same office. I believe they are price gouging people here. Save yourself the hassle and go somewhere else. You will thank me later.

Fantastic experience: I had an excellent experience at The Smile Center on Marbach! Coming from the blanco location I had low expectations, to my surprise the staff was incredibly fast and efficient, making the entire process smooth and stress-free. Everyone was so friendly, and the front desk team did a fantastic job explaining my payment options. They were thorough and made sure I understood everything, while also being flexible and willing to work with me in any way they could. What really stood out was how they went above and beyond by helping with my infant while I was getting my X-rays done. It was such a relief knowing they were so accommodating. I highly recommend this office for their professionalism and kindness!

Positive experience: I would suggest somewhere else first before coming here. I've been to three different Smile Center/Jefferson Dental locations over the past few years and each time I felt something was unresolved, not settled, or just had a bad experience with customer service. Sometimes it was the dentist, other times it was the front desk staff, or the office manager, I would just try somewhere else. Also if you call the number to schedule an appointment you have to call twice because the first time they ignore it or forward it to voicemail. They'll charge you a different price for the exact same thing someone else is getting, they'll tell you a promotional price to get you to come back in the office only to switch up the promotion at the last minute, the level of knowledge of the staff seems to be low. I liked the dental hygienist Marcy and Dr Araiz was alright, so that's why I gave 3 stars. Otherwise it would have been 1.

Negative experience: I have gone to the smile center to get my cleanings since I was a child so I thought this establishment was a trustworthy place and well I couldn’t have been more wrong. February of this year I was coerced into getting Invisalign but after the smile center cancelled and rescheduled multiple appointments I was finally able to get my first set of trays in april BUT since then more cancellations and reschedules. June 4th was when I had my most recent appointment and I’m expecting to go to this appointment because usually the smile center calls about 4 days before to cancel and reschedule my appointment BUT on June 3rd I get a call by you guys saying my treatment has been refunded so because of that my appointment that was a day later is canceled which I thought was perfect because I was paying for NOTHING literally after months of not receiving my treatment due to the smile centers fault. I looked at my bank and noticed I was still being billed for the Invisalign so I called the bank I pay y’all through and to my surprise they say they didn’t refund the Invisalign treatment, that id have to call the smile center to have you guys tell them what y’all told me. So I proceed to call you guys and for the whole month of June I kept getting rerouted to the call center and I got a lot of “oh they must be at lunch” ,” please call back tomorrow” “ the regional manager will get in touch with you” I HAVENT BEEN ABLE TO GET IN TOUCH WITH ANYONE finally in the last week of June someone decides to tell me oh the ortho is closed and they don’t know when they’re going to open again that’s why you haven’t been able to get in touch with anybody but I’ll put in a request to have the regional manager call you (I have yet to receive a call from a regional manager) and nobody decided to tell me that after I had been calling for a month. So I call the bank yall finance through they put some type of request to refund and y’all had 20 days to respond and y’all did in fact respond so I wasn’t able to get a refund SO YOU MEAN TO TELL ME I HAVENT BEEN ABLE TO SPEAK TO ANYBODY HELPFUL OR ANYONE WHO CARES ENOUGH I LOST MY JOB THIS MONTH IN JULY SO NOW IM EVEN MORE STRESS OUT y’all can respond to them but don’t care to get my issue resolved. And last I was told by a smile call center representative is that if I get refund there will be a cancellation fee FOR WHAT?! When you guys have been the ones canceling and rescheduling my appointments and just recently “refunded” my Invisalign treatment but LIED to me and didn’t actually refund anything. Super unprofessional though I could trust you guys. Definitely posting this on tik tok.

Fantastic experience: The Jefferson group/ the Smile Center located over at 410 and Marbach, had a great experience there either though I do not like the dentist they made me feel very comfortable and relax. And to all the staff there they were great awesome, professional. I would highly recommend this place to anybody my son also goes to this dentist as well and they always treat him great.

Negative experience: Don't come without insurance expecting kindness. NO PAYMENT PLANS DESPITE THE ADVERTISEMENT OF IT!! I put off getting a broken tooth looked at for a year to avoid the issue this clinic has. Tried to push me into getting a credit card (by beginning to put in my personal information on the website for me!!!!) and when i showed aversion, they rushed me out of the exam room. didn't even give me any final papers, no consultation form- just the 10k bill !!

Negative experience: If I could give this dental office a zero I would. If you value your time and most of all your money do not I repeat do not come here. The staff is incompetent. I took my son for a few visits and everything was preventive which my insurance coververed at 100% I have been getting bill after bill from them saying I owe over 800 dollars. I have been dealing with thus problem for a year now and now they have sent me to collection. This is by far the worst dental office I have ever been too. Do not come here!!! Update...... they never helped me at all. I had to pay before they screwed me even more. And for the person replying to all of the negative post. Giving out the same number one calls which is the number to the office to get help isn't considering helping!! Do something and reach out. That just makes people angrier do your job and help the customer. This dental office is a complete joke!!

Positive experience: Love the staff treated me with the upmost respect considering that I have a disability of site impaired only reason why I don’t give it all the stars is that the dentist themselves although chop it up to them being too busy and attending to other clients I wish they were just time manage better But that’s definitely minor. Other than that it fires on all cylinders and I appreciate that they accept my kind of insurance. I definitely recommend it!

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience here and would definitely come back. Today i was helped by a dental assistant named Aliah, she was so nice and had great patient care skills! She was very polite, respectful, and made my experience enjoyable.

Negative experience: Definitely don't go here. They will lie to you are ONLY about money. I went in got x-rays one week and talked about a cleaning plan for following week. I arrived today for my cleaning plan that was discussed and they tried to up sell me a different plan that was waaaaaay more expensive. I asked about the initial price that I agreed upon last week when I scheduled and they were like "oh we need to talk to the doctor and see if that is possible" . I definitely don't recommend them unless you don't care about getting shafted for your hard earned money. I was warned before but gave them the benefit of the doubt but boy was I wrong.

Fantastic experience: This team was amazing.They were fun to talk to you but very professional.I highly recommend. I came for my 6 month check up and needed my dentist (Dr Araiza) to sign a paper for a study abroad trip. He was very helpful and signed it the same day.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Araiza and his assistants are amazing. I look forward to coming in just to see them! Dr. A is so patient and we always have a laugh. May God bless everyone is this office.

Negative experience: I have been attempting to receive a refund for over 2 years due to Invisalign Services not being completed by this office. I have been trying to get ahold of the regional manager for a while now as the local office had stated they were going to give me a refund. I have yet to see the refund or actually talk to anyone that can help me that will actually return my call. They always say they will look into it and I never receive a follow-up. I call the customer care number and they state that they will include the regional manager but can't give me any information past that. I would steer clear of this location.

Negative experience: This is the absolute WORST office I have been to. Went in for a cleaning and was there for 3.5 hours. They didn't bill my insurance correctly and now I continue to get bills and NO ONE returns my phone calls. The billing center and customer care center are both useless as well for resolving this issue. I am told I will get a call back within 72 hours and NEVER get a return call. I will be filing a claim with the BBB.

Negative experience: I had gotten a root canal done about 1 year ago by Dr. chito and some other work. Back in December I had to go back to get the crown put back on and was charged $29 to get it glued back on not an issue. Couple weeks later it fell off again and the new Dentist said that since he didn’t do it he shouldn’t be doing it because it wasn’t his work and was persistent on me getting an implant. Paid $150 to get the crown put back on and he said it would only last 2 weeks. Not even 24 hours later it fell off. I ended up going to a different dentist office and they said that it looks like they barely used any glue/ if any. and no reason for it to fall off that fast and there was absolutely no reason to get an implant. I had to pay to get the tooth glued on again.. and no issues now. Every tooth the smile center touched has had an issue with it. I will not be going back and I definitely will not be referring anyone here.

Negative experience: My personal experience was good for the cleaning and explanation on when it came to what I would have to pay out of pocket. The pricing was a bit crazy to me for a deep cleaning. I paid around $380+ for a deep clean out of pocket. I do have dental insurance and was just going into do a cleaning at the Jefferson Dental location on 9820 Potranco Rd #106, San Antonio, TX 78251. My insurance does cover a cleaning along with other things of course. But this was not the case. I personally ask for a full explanation on what I will be paying out of pocket and what my insurance will cover. I just like to be prepared and organize my bills and finances this way. Long story short. The women who was going to do my regular cleaning mentioned i needed to do a few other things so I said okay and asked what will payment be with insurance and ect. She had someone from billing speak to me and after going over it all I would have to pay the$380 out of pocket. I agreed to just do it so its over with and wont cause all these issues in the future. I was also quoted a crazy amount to remove my last 3 wisdom teeth that was not going to clearly happen with them for the price they wanted. Im talking a few thousand and even a payment plan with care credit was hot going to happen even if i was approved to go that route. After this It was getting close to closing time for them so I agreed to reschedule the next day at the location on 1539 SW Loop 410, San Antonio, TX 78227 since she will be at that location the next day instead. I scheduled and went did the cleaning and all. (Found another dental location to get pricing on removing my wisdom teeth since they suggested I remove them soon before it caused my teeth to crowd. So luckily I found the dentist that use to work with them and did work on me before and he has his own practice and the pricing was perfectly in range to do with him.) Also yes i did pay out of pocket the day before i went to the next day appointment for the cleaning. After all this i figured great everything is taken care of right since iv been all paid up since day one. Well wrong, apparently they charged my insurance for a deep cleaning and my insurance covered the portion for a regular cleaning that was around $130. and they sent me a bill for the remaining of around $113. I been trying to reach the billing department for over a month since I first got the letter in the mail. Fast forward I called both locations and tried to get ahold of billing and management to help explain the situation and no one will call me back. One did actually call me back and was rude when I was trying to explain it and she just said she will have the manager call me back and never got a call. Called again and got the main office and they input messaged for someone to reach out and even followed up with me with a text asking if someone contacted me and I said no since they haven't. Any who this is not the first time dealing with a billing issue with the company. The time before this time I had the billing issue the women in the front admitted they always have issues with billing. That should have been the red flag for me. SO till today I have not yet spoke with anyone from billing to figure out this issue. I also updated my primary dental location for myself and my 3 children that we will no longer be customers of either location. Even though my family and I have been with them for about 7 years. I do think they have a lot of nice employees but its just not worth the over charges, miscommunication and reoccurring billing issues. They got the one star from me only because 98% of the employees are nice and some tried to be helpful on leaving a message with billing and management to contact me.

Fantastic experience: The Jefferson Smile Center is the best dentist I ever been to. They made me feel so welcome the waiting process to get signed in and actually get my appointment was about maybe 5 to 10 minutes after my actual appointment was set which is really great then when I got into the back, the service was so lonely the people were so welcoming. Everybody was in an upbeat mood. I had different people that wasn’t even assigned to me to actually Cater to me as well. Then, when I saw the doctor, the doctor just was straightforward straight to the point I mean, gave me multiple options made me feel comfortable and. That I may have had it that time then when he got to the actual financing, I had multiple options to choose from being that I am a single parent mother I was not able to afford the actual care that I really wanted to receive but with the options that they gave me, I was even more satisfied, and everything was affordable I actually am being expedited in my situation which makes it even better because they take my concerns is it consideration and to give me results a brand new smile within two weeks you can’t beat that you don’t get that every day, especially when it comes to dental care, I really really really am happy and not only that my daughter goes there and gets her dental work as well and they cater to her as well. I’m just so grateful that I actually found this place and then they’re right down the street from my house. Don’t forget everything is affordable if you just express your concerns , I know that they’ll work with you no matter what your circumstances are. Thank you, Jefferson Smile Center.

Fantastic experience: Thank you to the entire staff, everyone at the front office was very welcoming beginning with Angie, the manager. I was excited to see Alexis because she has treated me very well with my visits. Dr. Ahmida checked my teeth and was happy how I was taking care of them. I have been very happy with my Invisalign! Vanessa couldn’t attend to me at the time and I was nervous to have someone other than Vanessa to clean my teeth, she assured me the hygienist she was training could take good care of me. I liked that Vanessa kept dropping in to make sure I was okay. I am happy to say Jill the hygienist in training did a great job! Thank you Alexis for your professionalism, you did great with my granddaughter! She’s very excited and feels comfortable with her Invisalign. Keep up the great work!
