Fantastic experience: I went to The Smilist Dental today for a teeth cleaning and had a great experience. The office was very clean and welcoming, and I didn’t have to wait long to be seen. The staff was friendly from the moment I walked in, and they made sure I felt comfortable the entire time. The hygienist did a thorough job cleaning my teeth without causing any pain, and she explained everything she was doing step by step. The dentist also checked in on me.

Negative experience: If I could give a zero star I will, I am a new patient who is three weeks postpartum it took a lot for me to get out of my house rushing to make it to my scheduled appointment on time to be greeted so rudely the girl at the front desk does not have any manners. I spoke to some one for 17 minutes the day prior who confirmed my appointment, took all my information down and to be rejected when I arrive is so unprofessional and disorganized. I have never been treated this way at a medical office before this is not a great first impression I am definitely not coming back.

Fantastic experience: Another fantastic visit to The Smilist in Amityville. The office staff are great. Stephanie was so sweet helping me get into the office, explaining the cost and options. She is such a pleasure all the time. Jeannie the dental hygienist is always so nice, accommodating this white knuckler with sensitive teeth. Dr Cekada has to be one of the nicest man I've ever met. Im afraid of the dentist and he is always so calming. Both of them do excellent work, pain free, skilled at what they do and truly care about their patients. If you've tried other places as I have I promise you this will be the last place you land. I can't recommend them enough.

Negative experience: Terrible!! Didn't even get an appointment, I filled out the online request form for a next day 911 appointment. The receptionist called me back so intent on basically not getting me in. First, she said "you really should go to the one in Babylon" I said no I am 7 minutes from Amityville, and it seems there is a vacant spot for tomorrow. I went over the issue I was having - she told me oh they'll probably send you out to an Endodontist! Not a clinical professional at all so I was confused how she would know that. Even if I told her the symptoms I was having which is acute sensitivity that does not mean a patient needs a root canal. Then she told me for the other reason I was coming in which was just a consult that they would need further information which is/was fine! From the time she called she was basically discouraging me to not come in b/c they couldn't help. If this is a practice that is trying to grow their patient base, I would focus on what can be done as opposed to what can't be done. Also what is the purpose of an emergency visit then!! Most people with an emergency have tooth pain and to be told basically we can't do anything is strange. I would suggest training your front desk staff to be more positive.

Negative experience: Back in March, one of their dentist ruined my tooth. He claimed that I needed to get a filling when I don’t believe I did. I went with his authority, and I instantly regretted it. He drilled all the way down to my nerve and ruined my tooth. This practice tried to fix it twice, but to no avail. Now I have to get a root canal. Do not use this dental practice!! Check your own x-rays and Go with your gut. Dentist just like to drill to make money and that’s what happened in my case.

Negative experience: I have not been to this practice in 10+ years nor have I uttered the thought of calling them. One of the receptionists called and began rattling off my personal information such as name, date of birth, address etc prior to saying who was even calling stating that my number was "on their caller ID" This violated many regulations and you should be ashamed of giving away someone's personal information over the phone without identifying yourself nor verifying that youre speaking with the correct person. After the second call in a row the response I received from the woman was "no need to be nasty". What's nasty is giving out personal information of a patient that hasn't been there in 10+ years. Despicable health business practice.

Fantastic experience: Best cleaning I’ve ever had. I have extreme cold sensitivity and cannot normally handle the cavitron. After letting my hygienist know this she provided a stronger numbing gel I didn’t know existed which worked wonders. She was able to give me a thorough cleaning without me pulling away or stopping her completely midway. Everyone in the office was friendly, thorough and made me feel very comfortable.

Fantastic experience: What a breath of fresh air I’ve had such a traumatic time with other dentist unfortunately for a while I could not go to The Smilelyst because my insurance change and I could not afford it after trying so many different dentist my insurance changed and I found out that I was able to go back to them The Manager ❤️ receptionist Amanda was so professional and so sweet Took all my information and she checked everything out with no attitude or problem I was accepted and she told me to not to worry And made an appointment right away for me I came in and I’ve never been so excited to come back to a dentist before You have no idea how much traumatic experiences I’ve had The Dentist she was been unbelievably exceptional. Answer all my questions and make me feel at ease Very understanding and caring that I can’t even express.and took time when I broke down in tears to to encourage me that everything was going to be ok I’ve never been excited more than to come and get everything taken care of. Fantastic experience: This was absolutely the best experience I’ve ever had at a dentist, maybe even ever at an office. I’ve always had teeth problem always hated the dentist and this was the first time in my life I’ve ever wanted to go back to the dentist and that’s someone who came in scared. Everyone so down to earth from Brittany who welcomed me in the chair toke images of my teeth and explained everything that would be happening next. Then I got the best cleaning I’ve ever had in my life by Maria who was also beyond sweat. But i do got to say my favorite was Stephanie one of the receptionist she was so kind from beginning to end answering all my question and giving me so many different option and ways to go about finally fixing my teeth and just making me believe I can finally get teeth I will one day be happy with. Just one of the nicest sweetest ladies I’ve ever met. Thank you so much to everyone at the office and I’m beyond looking forward to seeing everyone again.

Everyone's so caring, friendly and professional, the front desk ladies, Amanda, Virginia & Stephanie are very kind, helpful and understanding. And of course my doctor, Dr. Ma, she's very professional, caring and attentive. An excellent dentist is truly hard to find. Here's hoping, my search is over.

She came out to speak with me even before taking my daughter into the exam room. Inquiring about her health history and prior dental work. Fantastic experience: Having had a traumatic childhood dentist experience I have always walked into the dentist with high anxiety. That got so much better once I started to be treated at the Smilist my anxiety level has gotten so much better. They are attentive and make you comfortable as they can for you to walk out with a smile and low stress level.

Negative experience: I was lied to by a woman over the phone before making an appointment. I was told they do root canals, which is great because I need one. I called out of work and drove an hour away only to be told they can't do mine after I explained the situation over the phone and the woman said they can help. This is pretty horrible honestly. Someone should lose their job for lying to people like this and wasting their time and money.

Fantastic experience: I am Soooo Grateful I was told about Dr. Babeck's /the Smilist office!!! I'm a BIG CHICKEN when it comes to dental work! In addition, I also did research & was Completely Bamboozled and taken advantage of at an office that "on paper" looked fabulous! But obviously-if it looks too good to be true....it is; which was the case! The previous conived/encouraged, whatever you want to call it, to enroll in Care Credit, which They filled out all the information. I was Extremely nervous and just went with what they said bc I Did do previous research. LONG STORY SHORT...they sucked out all $5400 somehow and it Destroyed my credit...which I had worked Very hard earlier to keep in good standing! I went from 750 to 550 in the blink of an eye! So....needless to say....I'm now Extremely hesitant & worked Hard, AGAIN, to repair. I heard about Dr. Babeck & after Much hesitation, went for it & am Soooo Happy I did because I cannot say enough positive comments about this office! From walking in the door, to leaving the office, there was nothing but Amazing things I can say!!! The office staff is friendly, helpful and on point. When they say they'll do something, it's done over & above expectations! And Dr. Babeck is Absolutely The Best!!! Everything is spelled out with no surprises and he is Amazingly gentle, confident and gets the job done-no nonsense yet making sure his patients are extremely comfortable at all times! After going on & on, it's simply easy to say it's the Best decision I've made in quite some time! Thank you if you've read the Whole review bc I tend to use many words @times...LOL. It boils down to....they're AMAZING! Would Definitely recommend!!!

Negative experience: Do not go here! Two huge issues that I've had with them that I will be looking more into: I had a root canal, and needed a cap. They went in, took the impression and said that since it's around christmas time it will take a long time but they'll let me know. Two Months in, I feel a crack. I call them and they do not have any appointments. I ask them for an update on my crown and they ask if I've had a root canal yet. When I remind them that I have, they put me on a long hold and then tell me that they have the crown there. The entire time, they've had my crown! Since they couldn't give me an appointment I went elsewhere and that dentist said the tooth is now no longer salvageable and needs to be fully extracted. All the work I had done to prepare for the crown, and at the finish line, I've lost the tooth. Before this, during the appointment where I get the impression for the crown, I went and asked for Nitrous. No-one on staff knew how to operate it. The tank fell out mid-procedure, and as the room filled with gas someone else had to run in and it took three people to reinstall the tank. Later on at one point I hear someone in the room say "He should be feeling it, there's no oxygen, just the nitrous" and the last thing I remember hearing was "Dude, you can't do that". I then am woken up by them, with the look of fear in their eyes as I had gone unconscious. I called them before posting this and was told "our records show we called you once" and that they would refund me the $90 for nitrous, and my insurance for the crown, hardly a fair trade for now losing my tooth due to their negligence. I don't care what boilerplate response they reply to this review with, please for your teeth's sake, do not go! EDIT: 7 Months later, and they just reached out to me to schedule my crown placement for a tooth that no longer exists because of their ineptitude. They continue to find new ways to dissapoint. I reiterate, do not go there. Also, they have not reached out prior to "make things right" in any way.

I will always have a special place in my heart for Dr. Babeck and Stephanie (front end) for their above and beyond service!!! I can't thank you all enough!

Positive experience: I have a great Hygienist in Jeanie. So Respect your Hygienist by arriving with a clean mouth. Floss, brush and rinse . And give her a heads up if you may have something lurking in your mouth!

My dentist answered all my questions and honestly I could not be happier I chose them:) if you read this, thank you for making my first visit comfortable and easy.

Negative experience: If you want a clear answer on a balance due after a procedure, DON'T GO HERE! THE FRONT DESK IS A JOKE AND HAVE NO CLUE WHAT THEY ARE DOING. if you go here you will have a bill out of nowhere with no explanation outside of call your insurance!!!!!

I was lucky enough to be referred to the Smilist Dental in Amityville, I had some major dental work done from the first time I walked into the door. The staff has been nothing but professional, helpful, and genuinely caring. I can't say enough about Doctor Cekada he did a great job on all my dental work and to was very caring and professional. Keep up the great work as I know you will and I would gladly refer anyone to your office. I only hope that this is seen by other patients.

Fantastic experience: The dentists are knowledgable, professional, gentle, caring and friendly. The staff is wonderful, especially the dental hygienist Maria, she thoroughly cleaned my teeth, ta great! The staff & receptionist are caring, kind, professional and friendly. They do wonderful work! The office is very clean and you never have to wait more then a few minutes. I highly recommend going here!

Fantastic experience: Jeannie is the best!! Been goin to her for a while, she is always telling me how to keep my teeth healthy. Haven’t had cavities in a long time because of her!!! Oh yes, the assistance I had with the front desk was amazing. Great group all over!!

Fantastic experience: Been to plenty of dentist and to b honest this is one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. The front desk staff is absolutely wonderful they have the best personality. They make you laugh they all greet you with beautiful smiles. The dentist himself does a wonderful job and he takes time to answer your Questions and explain in detail. I definitely recommend them. You will have a a excellent experience with them

Positive experience: App was on time. The staff really. Friendly office. Like always clean. My hygiene. Lady was really. Sift and profesional But not dentist went to see me after she finished and also they put me in one room .Then change to another. First time this. Happen.

Positive experience: Update: please be sure to make sure they don't book you for Dr. Kaur. She is extremely rude and a poor dentist imo. I had a filling in my tooth from my previous dentist that lasted for YEARS before it broke. Her filling lasted less than 6 mos. The way she has talked to me about my dental hygiene (which is admittedly poor as I am always busy working between 2 jobs) was so uncalled for and practically shamed me for it, saying to me, "oh my mother works at night and she has time to brush her teeth" meanwhile I work more than I sleep! I have raised these concerns to the front desk staff and they don't seem to care. Hygienists are amazing and from what I've seen so are the other dentists. I was apprehensive in having to find a new dentist after I learned mine retired as a good dentist is really hard to find but this office was very pleasant. Everyone is friendly and helpful. Hygienist was very knowledgeable and considerate during and after my cleaning. They will send you a bunch of appointment reminders so you definitely don't forget! If you don't have a dentist or need to find a new one, this is the place to go.

Fantastic experience: very happy with the service, the people are very attentive, they make you feel very comfortable, you don't get nervous, the place is very clean, especially the doctors, the nurses and the rest of the team, especially me, I have a phobia of dentists, but the Yesterday I had a great experience. I definitely recommend this Clinic.
