Negative experience: Today they lost a client for about $65. I’ve been going there for a few years. Went for a cleaning and was advised on a treatment that I had already partially paid. But those funds were used for an x-ray charge that I was not advised I had to pay for. All charges are suppose to be told up front. I’ve never had any issues until today. I was told the X-ray was needed. I’m sure there are plenty of things needed but I’m suppose to be told if there is a charge beforehand. This was a mistake on their end and no accountability was taken. Just that it was “needed” was their response. I’m not one to argue but I’m definitely going to share my experience. Keep my partial payment for my treatment, for an X-ray service that was done and not advised of any charge beforehand. What if next time the “needed” service is a more expensive one? Definitely upset on how it was handled. And then they want to call after I leave instead of addressing it at the time I was there.

The hygienist walked me through everything she was doing from X-rays to the cleaning. I saw the doctor and she explained what concerns she had for the future and advised to make an appointment should I experience any symptoms.

It was about as fantastic as a trip to the dentist can be. Zoey was my hygienist and she provided one of the most thorough cleaning I've had. Negative experience: Our family was using their services over the last few years. My mom even got her all in one dentures from them both upper and lower, which cost her around 50k. During the consultation they said is going to be like her own teeth can keep permanently and for maintenance will be only $300+ half a year. However, it wasn’t the case. She has continuously discomfort for the first year and they can’t do much about it. Also, they suggested cleaning every 3 months instead of 6 and there’s certain parts need to be changed out every 1-2years. Meaning the maintenance part cost twice or triple amount compared to what they quoted. For dentures they can only guarantee 5 years of use and as gums shrinks, they can drop off or breakdown, most likely won’t be permanently use. These are under our expectations especially considering the price. At that point, might still be the best option for us. However, I would expect a better communication. Not doubting Dr. Rich’s expertise but the fact is, I asked for a dentist referral at the new location twice to keep up with the maintenance before we move out of state. It has been half a year now and yet, didn’t receive a single word. Needless to say, he doesn’t care about his patients. If you’re looking for regular family dental care, it’s a pretty office and they have good staffs working but I won’t suggest getting dentures or implants through this facility.

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend this practice. Even though I am a dentist, I need to find someone to treat my dental needs too. So as a licensed, board-certified dentist (I work for the government and not a civilian practice) I do have some knowledge of what makes a good dental office. Not only do they use quality equipment, advanced technology and safe procedures, they are friendly as well. My experience as a patient there was a solid 5 stars. Lindsey (from Killeen) the Hygienist that provide me a great cleaning was professional was gentle. Dr. Craig was kind, knowledgeable and clearly a skilled dentist. This would be a good choice if you are considering a new dental office.

Negative experience: I am writing to formally express my concerns regarding my recent visit to your office on 27 May 2025. I came in for a routine dental cleaning, which is included as one of the two free cleanings provided annually by my dental insurance plan. However, I was informed that I needed an additional gum treatment, for which I would be charged $95. This was unexpected, as I had not been informed in advance that this treatment would not be covered under the standard cleaning. I believe this lack of transparency is not only frustrating but also misleading for patients who are trying to make informed decisions about their care and expenses. Additionally, during a previous visit in 2022, I was charged $36 for “pictures” despite being told that the visit would include free x-rays as part of the covered cleaning. This has led me to question the consistency and transparency of the billing practices at your office. Unfortunately, this experience has left me feeling that Lakewood Trail Dentistry prioritizes upcharges over patient trust. I urge your office to be more forthcoming about potential charges before services are rendered, especially when patients are coming in for routine cleanings they believe are fully covered. P.S. there's nothing wrong with my gums they're perfect just a money grab you should be ashamed of yourself.

Fantastic experience: I was in extreme pain and these amazing people got me in within hours of my desperate phone callnwhich turned into my needing a root canal . So they referred me to another incredible place the very same day. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted with nothing but smiles, kindness and compassion. Five is not enough stars!!!! I found my forever dentist. I can't recommend them highly enough.

Fantastic experience: My hygienist was Hailey again today and I’ve never left a dental office so satisfied before! She was so sweet and gentle and never hurt me. I’m very sensitive and she took very good care of me. She was very thorough and very informative. I hope I can always see her for all future appointments. All staff was very welcoming. A big plus was having the TV to distract me from the anxiety of bad experiences in the past.

Everyone was so nice . I cannot ask for a better dental experience. Today visit - fabulous dentist, everyone was so caring and knowledgeable, local anesthetic did not go away for 6 hours, I had 2 crowns done so probably double amount, my only bit of a worry. Dr Kern and her assistant are fantastic.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Stern and Dr. Vu have both been outstanding dental surgeons in skillfully placing my crowns and implants. Their staff and dental assistants have always been cordial and helpful in supporting the whole process. I’ve been impressed with the professionalism of the whole team on each of my visits.

Fantastic experience: As most know, looking around for any type health care can be tricky, especially when kids are involved. My daughter has fought us about brusing her teeth and just terrified to go visit the dentist. She got out of the car in tears but left with the biggest smile on her face. She even went home and wanted to brush on her own and try to use her floss(with her new toothbrush and floss). The atmosphere was absolutely warm and inviting, no at all intimidating for kids! Love it when we find a great place the first time!

Fantastic experience: 4 September 2024: I had a WONDERFUL experience at Lakewood Dental Trails! Signing up as a new patient took less than 20 minutes and the front office staff (Natalia) made the entire [online] process painless for the digitally challenged like myself. The day of my appointment I was warmly greeted by my hygienist (Zoe) who made me feel welcome and put me at ease with her detailed explanation of what my entire appointment was going include from the initial x-rays all the way through the cleaning and fluoridation. Her attention to detail and chairside manner were OUTSTANDING! Dr. Kern capped off the entire experience with a thorough exam and a clean bill of dental health. I was very comfortable with addition of the pillow and blanket that were offered. Lee cleaned my teeth thoroughly and adjusted her hands and my head so that she could get the job done with me being comfortable. Negative experience: There used to be a younger lady that was kind of heavy set that used to work here, she was one of the sweetest people that I have ever met in my entire life. Upon my last visit I learned that they had fired her. I have no clue what their reasons possibly could have been for firing someone who is so nice and sweet, but I honestly do not know if I will be going back to this office if they are firing people for being "too nice".

Fantastic experience: I have had really bad experience in the past with other dentists, as far as developing really bad anxiety to where I’ve had to be sedated for cleanings. I was really nervous going in to Lakewood for the first time, but they really reassured me and kept me calm the entire time. I would highly recommend if you have ever experienced anxiety with dentist. The staff was great as well and explained everything so clearly and in detail.

My 3 year old son had an appt after me and he was already having a horrible morning when we arrived. His “threenager” attitude had kicked in and he did not want to be there, but the two dental hygienists that greeted us were super patient and helpful. They got him settled in with a stuffed animal and some toys and I was able to sit in the chair and get my teeth cleaned while he played. They DID NOT make me feel like I was a burden because of my unpredictable toddler and I greatly appreciate that! Dr. Kern was amazing as always and very patient with my son! They were even able to get my son’s teeth cleaned and looked at which is major progress from the previous time we went. Overall, I am grateful for the compassionate and caring team at Lakewood Dental Trails who know just how to make a mother and her son feel welcome and cared for.

Fantastic experience: I had to go for a tooth extraction, which is never a fun or good day. The staff was so friendly and understanding. They made me feel comfortable the whole time. The dentist was super sweet and gentle. She was very detailed in explaining everything to me. I will definitely be going back for routine dental care.
