Negative experience: Terrible experience!!! Dentist and staff do not care about their clients and it shows!!!

Fantastic experience: I thought that the denture specialist is very professional and she is intelligent and pays attention to detail! She is extremely excellent at her profession.

Positive experience: Great service other than dentures breaking af ter a year and then charging to make new ones. 13 months old eating pizza and they snapped so I had to pay out of pocket for another pair and it wasnt cheap

Negative experience: My experience has been terrible i will never go here again and i recommend no one use them i make minumn wage and scraped enough together to purchase a parshel denture for my bottom and today went in for a tooth cleaning and they said they would adjust my parshell well they shaved down the part that hold it in its ruined i wasted 700 down the drain because at least before i could wear it it was just tight now it wont even glue in my mouth as far as im concerned they owe me 700 because this is crazy ever since i paid them i havent been able to use and now definately cant wear save your money go someplace else with it because they dont guarantee anything and are not fixing it crazy too me

Fantastic experience: There was a time that I would not have recommended anyone to go here, however there has been some changes to the staff and the ladies that work there now that I see are absolutely amazing. They are kind and knowledgeable at what they do. Specifically JULISSA at the Elfindale center location is absolutely WONDERFUL. She went above and beyond to make sure and help me with my teeth and has been incredibly kind and knows what she's doing. She shows pride and compassion in her work and that's something to be acknowledged. I made this review specifically to give Julissa her do. Thank you!

Negative experience: Came to this place with the hopes of preserving my smile. Like most I don't have extra money laying around for dental work. I've been going to this office for a year and made it very clear I needed my front tooth filled before it was too far gone. Over 6 months went by and here I am needing 1600 dollars out of my own pocket when my insurance fully covered the tooth for the last 6 months to get a filling done. Now its 1600 dollars or pull it out. When i went in this last time and was told about this development and expressed the fact ive mentioned it for over 6 months and kept getting told how insurance works. Dude i know how insurance works and shouldnt have to pay for a Dr's negligence. Highly recommend a different dentist no compassion and they clearly don't care because its not their mouth or money. Dont matter what your concerns are when they ask because they gonna do whatever they feel like anyways, and clearly this dr doesn't know best. If you do have to go to access dental and implant because your unfortunately broke like I am go to a different location. The only dentist in this office is a joke, incompetent, and as long as he gets paid it don't matter what happens to your mouth.

They take medicade, and I called this morning because I had a dental emergency needing a tooth pulled they got me scheduled in to be see the same day in a couple of hours! The staff is so welcoming and they had me out within an hour! I'll forever go here they are great!

Negative experience: Absolutely hands-down, some of the most incompetent people to ever work in the dental industry. They do not care about their patients they care about volume. The regional manager is absolutely unhinged. Had a horrible experience today she literally called the police when I questioned my bill. Wasn’t able to get the emergency care I needed due to their poor scheduling if you ask for an explanation or you catch them doing something wrong, they will deflect. Again, the regional manager for these practices is part of the problem McKenzie you should not be working with the public. I will literally go to a dental college before I would ever go back to these people. If you do go here you better check your bill because they will charge you for things they don’t do and they will constantly play with your dental plan. This is a money making office only their dental work does not last, and all of the complaints on here are legitimate.

Fantastic experience: I have gone to two different dentists in Springfield besides Access Dental to have my upper partial done with terrible results. I finally found the right dentist that did them correctly and quickly. Today, Dr. Rhodes worked on a tooth that needs a crown and that is used by my partial. Went home with a temporary crown until my permanent one arrives. Very professional and awesome care by all. Perfect fit! Everyone at Access Dental are also friendly and professional! Thank you Dr Rhodes for your gentleness, compassion and expertise!!!

Negative experience: I would not recommend the springfield office in the elfidale center. The dentist is really great but the office is so disorganized. I got a pre authorization in October of 2024 for a bridge it took until August of 2025 to get my bridge so the pre authorization had expired well when they sent for it in 2025 my insurance coverage had changed so I ended up paying more because they lost my bridge and keep giving appointments dates that were 2 to 3 months out. I was told that I wouldn’t be charged anymore because it was their error but i got a bill for over $400 dollars in September of 2025. If you go to this dentist office be very careful about all the billing issues

Negative experience: Took xrays then had me see a dentist that was out of network but said they have a dentist in network in the same office. They of course charged me a OON fee. My plan only pays for one set of x rays per year, asked for my X rays and no one will contact me. Really bad business practices.

Fantastic experience: I have my teeth cleaned every three months there. They do an awesome job! I also had to have fillings and the Dentist was exceptional. I usually hate getting needles to numb you, but he did such an awesome job that I barely felt them. The staff is friendly and helpful. Highly recommend Them. (West sunshine location in Springfield, Missouri)

Negative experience: Very disappointed in how I was treated . I don’t care to go into details other then it wasn’t the dental assistants but rather the office manger and the person at the window on your out from seeing the dentist.

Negative experience: I’m pretty sure a lot of these five star reviews are from friends and family of the employees there. Check out their Better Business Bureau profile, they have many complaints and are not accredited. From the treatment my elderly mother received there in the process of getting dentures, if I could give zero stars I would. Do not go here. Try James River Dental.

Fantastic experience: Staff, did an excellent job. Had an extraction done and Dr numbed the area. Waited and numbed again, waited and numbed a third time. He wanted to make sure I did not feel any pain from the last two injections... Excellent Job!!!

Fantastic experience: So far...OUTSTANDING!, from the Dental Staff & right up to Regional Manager. All these folks are the epitome of professionalism with bar none customer service . I'm not the most patient person to satisfy but Access Dental & Dentures far exceeded my expectations at today's visit. I can be a spoiled brat with real corny jokes but these folks treated me with incredible kindness, dignity & respect. I HIGHLY recommend them. Thank you to everyone-Bill

Negative experience: I had an appointment that was cancelled but did not receive a call or any e-mail. When I told the staff I didn't get notified they argued with me and said I did. This was a lie I spoke to manager Mckenzie and she argued and said I received it, this is worst customer service ever! They don't want to apologize or compensate me for the mistake on their part.

Negative experience: UPDATE: When I got to my scheduled dental appointment today, and got the chance to personally speak, face to face, with Dr. Calen Rhodes, he was more than willing to help correct my issue. The implant is still and intact. However, Dr. Rhodes removed the top cap off of my remaining implant and placed a small screw inside the implant to "close it so food doesn't get into the implant and cause infection". This simple, 5 minute procedure was painless and left the existing implant back to gum level. My broken, permanent bottom denture was temporarily repaired, and a new cast for a new bottom denture was obtained. I spoke with Dr. Rhodes about previous encounters with certain staff and he was deeply appalled by their behavior. He also apologized and was thankful that I let him know what was going on behind his back! Thank you, Dr. Calen Rhodes for being such a wonderful doctor of dentistry and person of integrity! Dr. Rhodes and his clinical staff are so caring, patient and knowledgeable regarding their field of practice! They also have a warm, sensitive bedside demeanor. The front office and scheduling staff leave a bitter taste in one's mouth! Everything was going well, until one of my implants fell out! So now, I have to schedule my 2nd post implant issue appointment with Dr. Rhodes, just to be able to speak with him directly and bypass the front office staff, who actually recommend that I contact an attorney to get "my problem implants" taken care of! Instead of being able to simply have my other bottom implant removed in office and a new set of permanent bottom dentures made, since they snapped in half due to imbalance The front office staff also had us pay off my bill first, even though my husband's procedures and dentures were completed 6 months prior to mine. Every time we went in, we asked what our balance was. Most of the time, they would tell us there wasn't a balance that day! Then, they turned around and billed us for my husband's balance of approximately $2600. We paid it in full, just to have our check voided by the front office and returned to us, and they proceeded to send his balance to collection!!!

Negative experience: ***Update**** After being a patient for almost a year I recommend never using this place. It has to be the worst customer service experience I have ever had. My first review was done to early. Their true colors didn’t come out until after a few visits. The front desk girls are different every time I go in now and every single one of them are horrible. They have no clue what they are doing. They will try to over charge you and after today I decided I will never go back. I am not sure the dentist and owners realize how bad these girls are. I wish I had listened to those before me who said to avoid this place**** I have been in customer service for over 20 years and I have seen the level of great customer service as i have with this dental office on Sunshine. I would have never got the courage to finally get my dental issues fixed if it wasn’t for the office manager (I believe that is her role), Ruby Weyrauch, taking the time to encourage me and give me an idea of the steps in the process. I can’t say this enough, she is truly amazing at what she does! Everyone was so nice and welcoming that I did not feel any of the things I was so worried about. If you are like me and keep putting off going to take care of your dental issues out of fear of judgement then rest assure if you go here you will not feel any judgement of any type.

Negative experience: They will cancel you lr appointment and not tell you they have canceled it. They say do check in or we cancel the appointment. When the appointment is made that should tell them that you will be there. They will also argue with you and say they have sent text messages when NO they haven't sent any and you prove that to them. This is not the first time having problems with this place. Last time we were here they took a 2 grand payment then told us we owed them 2 grand. Watch out for this office because they lie and blame you then try and take more money that they are not owed. Sitting here tying this out they again have canceled another person appointment and didn't notify them. I do not recommend this office at all save yourself a head ache and go elsewhere. They don't like to take care of their bathrooms either even after being told there is an issue. Horrible customer service.

Negative experience: Let me just start off by saying if you want to keep your teeth and not have any problems I suggest going somewhere else. For job security and to continue making a profit Access dental and dentures on West Sunshine Street will intentionally caused me to have more dental problems. The dentists, dental assistants, hygienists etc drilled holes in my teeth, exposing nerves on some so that I would have to have my teeth worked on more frequently. It's absolutely disgusting how the healthcare system operates today and everyone should know that they are intentionally doing this to people.

Fantastic experience: Doctor Rhodes staff was extremely courteous, with great attention to detail. I did receive implants in my lower jaw to hold my denture, and would recommend this procedure to anyone. Access dental and denture was a very smooth experience, and I was put at ease the whole time I was there. They're friendly approach and professionalism has won me over. I would highly recommend this dental clinic to everyone!

Negative experience: I used to like this place but now it has been months for me to even get my partial, it's only four teeth. The first partial they gave me had the wrong color and the one after that was about a half a finger long and it almost swallowed it twice, I've shown friends that have partials and all of them say that that should have never been anything from my mouth. All of those smiling faces are just a front. I asked for a copy of my records when I asked for a copy I called them today the first thing they said was that I picked him up when I only signed a release then they canceled all future appointments without asking me for . Now I have to start all over I definitely give them zero stars now waiting months for a four tooth partial is absolutely ridiculous. Not cool

Negative experience: I visited this place for the first time last week and I will never go back. The dentist was extremely short and rude. The one good thing I can say is the hygienist was an absolute angel. I was having a full blown panic attack over an extraction and she offered to go get her own headphones. She was very compassionate and I’m grateful she was there. I had the extraction on a Monday and was in severe pain by Thursday night. I called Friday and they were closed. I called the after hours emergency number that was provided that day, told them I might have a dry socket, and waited for a response. I woke up with a fever on Saturday and booked an appt elsewhere. And today, Monday at 8am and they are just now calling me back. Three days later? And now I have an infection? For post op I was just given some gauze. No syringe to flush the site. No call back after two attempts of contacting you for an emergency. I wouldn’t touch this place with a ten foot pole.

Fantastic experience: I experienced excellent care with my issues. Personnel more than happy to help you anyway they can. Went to a couple different places to get a full set of dentures, and went with them. So glad I did!

Negative experience: Not impressed with front staff or clinical staff. I received a text confirming my appointment, but appointment was canceled the day of. Update- I found a new dentist that was able to save a tooth that this dentist said would have to be pulled.

Fantastic experience: Lovely expirence the only complaint I have is the earliest appointment available is in April. It’s December and I was hoping to get my work done quicker.

Negative experience: I purchased a pair of dentures here in 2017 and went back in March of 2024 for a new set. It took them 6 appointments to get these new dentures to fit. So I didn't even get to bring them home for 6 months. I paid $2,000 for them and they are horrible. The teeth are half the size of my first pair and they are just cheaply made. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone for dentures. They use to have three different tiers of dentures to pick from now all they have is the one set and they are horrible. Fantastic experience: I've been going to this clinic about a year now. I've done cleaning, extraction and cavity filling. Young gentleman doctor did my filling very well. I'm sorry, I'm terrible with names. Definitely recommend!

Positive experience: Access Dental has implemented a new policy where they cancel appointments without informing clients if they have not confirmed within two business days. We were told our appointment was canceled after we did confirm. I witnessed three other clients come to their scheduled appointment and get turned away due to “not confirming.”

Fantastic experience: The staff are all amazing and it's obvious how much they care about their patients. I've been so insecure about my teeth for so long and they have gone above and beyond to give me a smile I can be proud of.

Fantastic experience: Access Dental has been wonderful with my 90 year old father. He has requested numerous changes, through no fault of Access. They have been very patient when trying to satisfy him.

Negative experience: If I could give it a 0 star I would. I wear a partial for my two front teeth that broke and had to get a new one. I made an appointment only to find out it was a new patient appointment (I've been there prior) and that my next appointment for the impressions was a month away. Having to go missing without my two front teeth they told me how much it would cost at my first appointment. I had enough in my bank account for what they told me, and when I showed up a month later for my impressions it was a totally different price that I did not have. They claimed to call me two days prior which was a lie since I never received any calls from them and they have the correct number since they kept sending me update text about my upcoming appointment. Extremely heart breaking and embarrassing for a single dad to have to take out a cash advance on my paycheck to have just enough for the amount they told me only to show up after being toothless for a month and told it would be a different price.

Positive experience: They were friendly….kind…efficient and seemingly thorough. Only negative—the front desk didn’t seem to think they took Medicare Advantage insurance…pretty sure they do- my husband just used his there!

Negative experience: They had me get a root canal at another dentist. After the root canal this dentist put in a temp filling. Went back to Access to get permanent filling and they want to charge me for it. Even called my dental insurance Co. and they called Access to get them to recode and Access refused. Poor way to do business!

Update I'm done with these people I have call stopped by to see how my insurance comes back yet to see if I could get dentures I got the same answer every time waiting to hear back from them I called my insurance they said they have approved the work so these people or just lazy or just don't care I think it's both I have been waiting for six months calling every week and still nothing stay away these people or useless

Fantastic experience: I had an appointment to get impressions for my new metal partials I got there early and after checking in and paying for the visit they called my name and they took me back very quickly I was really impressed with the staff and I was amazed at how they were doing impressions with the computer and how they did a CGI scan of my upper and lower mouth I've never seen this done before so that was a pleasant new experience for me. I love the staff there always friendly and they really care about the patients.great work !

Positive experience: All very nice staff and very clean but I just can't afford $1300 crown. I'll probably just have to have my tooth pulled. Devastating because I'm under the impression there's no where cheaper except maybe JV? Also I didn't like that a broken crown and all they offered was a consult and cleaning. Today on Tuesday April 30th I had an appointment at 11:00 I arrived right at 11:00 and yet I did not have to wait long before I was called for my appointment procedure everything went smoothly and timely and the staff has always been very courteous and professional I like those things and guess what they've got a good sense of humor great job!!!

Fantastic experience: I haven't been to the dentist in 7 years, since they told me I needed a deep cleaning. Foolishly, after my husband told me how painful it was for him, I decided my teeth could fall out before I have that done. I'm the transportation for a Nursing home facility (for 1 1/2 years) and saw that even my dementia residents handled numbing and teeth pulling, one getting dug out, just fine. Have a learned a thing or two about how important it is to keep our teeth and gums healthy. Was talking about my fear of dentists to Tami (one if the hygienist) and my residents one day. Found her understanding and kindness Very reassuring. Thankfully my insurance works with their company, first check up was yesterday. So far so good! Very professional people, very kind. Hate the necessity but I am now on a mission and they are my people! Update: Tami did the first part of my deep cleaning, pretty much a piece of cake. Kind, professional and funny! Not minding the next appointment. It's the one in August I'm not so sure about The dreaded appointment has come and gone. 57 years old and never had a needle in my mouth....nothing was as bad as I had imagined it would be. I was his last patient of the day, Dr. Rhodes was very kind, patient and profesional. Attentive to the sensitivity to my mouth. I wish to heaven I could remember the name of the woman who helped him! She was very hospitable and proved to be good company for a very nervous woman. I love this office and would highly recomemd them to any one, even those who, like me, are chicken! Got a job well done (3 fillings)by hospitable profesionals. For their services and their kindness I am greatful.

Fantastic experience: I love how quick you get to the filling part. No sitting there listening to another person getting drilled on for an hour while waiting your turn. Waiting always makes my anxiety jump sky high and there you guys get to it as quick as possible. Dr Manuela is a very swift competent nice person!

Update, I got 2 fillings today. Dr. Rhodes did a great job on them. His assistant did great job too. 5 stars again! I had another appointment and it went well. Very nice people and a gentle as they can be.

Fantastic experience: My first visit to Dr. Rhodes office went very well, as the dental hygienist and all others I met were personable, skillful, professional and efficient. I received excellent, thorough care. My second visit wasn't as successful, resulting in a swollen painful jaw due to intense drilling of a tooth. I was not given any advice on how to clean around the area -- just told to not floss and to not eat sticky or crunchy food. It's not the tooth that's sore--it's the entire gum and cheek area that are tender. My third visit--to put a permanent crown on the tooth of focus--which seemed to require an excessive amount of x-rays. The failed attempt to put on the crown lasted an hour--the crown didn't fit, so a new mold was made and a temporary crown applied. The third and final visit was more successful, with the crown fitting, with more x-rays taken. The dentist kindly removed some cement that had gotten into my hair. While the staff were all personable and friendly, I will not be back. I received a statement from my insurance, which showed me that Access Dental has an inflated opinion of the value of their services, even when mistakes are made.

Negative experience: My insurance changed, so I visited Access Dental for the first time recently and was not impressed. I just went in for a routine teeth cleaning and the hygienist barely touched my teeth, even when just polishing them! Then she left, telling me that another person and the dentist would be with me for the remainder of my visit, and she went on to start on someone else's teeth. The dentist came in and had me stick out my tongue, to the left, then right, then said everything looks good and asked if I would be interested in any Invisalign or any other cosmetic dentistry. Everything just seemed very hurried, and they just wanted to move me along. I felt like I was on an assembly line, herded through like cattle, and my teeth were NOT clean. I could still see plaque on my teeth. I came home and scraped on them myself. I will not be going back. On a good note, everyone was very nice, and the hygienist was very informative.

Fantastic experience: Nice staff. I have never had to wait past my appointment to be seen. They provide you with a treatment plan so you can see what is going to be happening.

Fantastic experience: My wife Diane & I were very impressed with the staff at the clinic! There was not a thing we didn't like about our visit (except for the temperature in the waiting room.) "Old people like us" have very thin skin & freeze easily! LOL! The receptionist, dental hygienist, & dentist were wonderful! We are thrilled that we found your clinic!

Fantastic experience: The environment was really great, and I had an excellent dentist assistant. The only complaint I have is that it takes so long to get an appointment I can’t even get any work done until January 2025 and it’s July 2024. Meaning I’m loosing my my dental insurance for this year.

Fantastic experience: This is the best dental experience ever. They were so nice and explained everything before hand. The dentis came and explained what I needed to get my that and gums back on track. The dentist also explained what he would do to fix my tooth I broke last week They were very resonible in the prices. I highly recommend this dentist and his staff.

Fantastic experience: I have horrible dental anxiety and it took me years to finally get up the courage to get my teeth done! Hands down the best experience I have ever had in a dental office! The staff are so nice and amazing, from the receptionists, the assistants and the dentist! So patient, kind and caring! I appreciate them so much and would 100 percent recommend this office, especially if you are a nervous person like me!

Fantastic experience: They were very friendly, and explained what they were going to do. And the dentist told me what I would feel and I shouldn't feel any pain and if I did I was to let him know and he would numb it some more. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, I'm really happy I came to them to get my extractions and dentures. I'm very pleased with everything

Fantastic experience: I’ve been to Access Dental a couple of times now for a cleaning and fillings. This dental office is AMAZING! Not only are the lady’s up front super nice and friendly, the dental assistants and hygienist are too. Dr Rhodes is phenomenal. He has awesome chair-side manors and was constantly making sure that I was ok and not in any pain. I will definitely be going here from now on and recommending to family and friends.

Fantastic experience: At Access Dental the wait time is minimal, the entire staff from the Receptionist that checks you in, the nurses, Dental Hygienist is very gentle and caring, are all very kind, courteous and professional. Most of all Dr. Rhodes is amazing. If anyone asks me for a referral, I will send them to Access Dental, Sunshine location.

Fantastic experience: I was so so nervous about getting my deep clean done but they did so good putting me at ease! They used the topical and I didn't feel a thing! BONUS!!! THERE WAS NO BLEEDING AFTER!!! It's been 2 hours and I feel nothing. So awesome! I am 100% happy to be making this journey with this practice.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Krahn is fantastic. One of the things that impresses me most about a well run dental office is how good the communication is between doctors and assistants. I can't stand bossy people, I want kindness. Doctors need to not only be friendly to me but the people they work with. Dr. Krahn was five stars on all fronts.

Fantastic experience: All I have to say about this place is all good stuff I was amazed at how well my teeth fit with just having the initial fitting. Thank you Access dental you did a wonderful wonderful job I would recommend anybody to you.

Negative experience: was told I need to wait 3 months for composite filings. when i finally arrive, they only give me exam, and then set 2nd appointment another 3 months down the road, not for composites which i needed 6 months ago, but for general cleaning. they are quick to rip put your teeth to sell you services your insurance wont cover. complaint to healthy blue will also be filed you guys suck

Fantastic experience: I absolutely love all of the staff here. I recommend every one I know to this dentist. They also accept Medicaid. They are so kind and patient. My 25 year old daughter had a traumatic experience with a past dentist and she expressed her anxiety to the dentist here and they all took the up most care of her. They were not dismissive of her anxiety, they took the time to explain everything they were doing each step of the way, and constantly reassured her. My daughter was so happy with how they treated her and how gentle they were with her. I would recommend this place to anyone who is scared of the dentist.

Fantastic experience: Tristra made my experience pleasant. She worked hard to clear out deep pockets . I hate X-rays and she made special trips to find out if I really needed them today. I will soon be 87 years old and I enjoyed my day with her!
