Crabtree Valley Dental: Reviews
Fantastic experience: Jenet was outstanding and delightful. I really like the vibe of this place when I go in and I'm quite anxious when it comes to dentist offices!
Fantastic experience: Very professional, great bedside manner and everyone was pleasant, helpful and kind.
Negative experience: I can’t get this dentist office to stop texting, emailing and calling me with spam. I’ve reported and blocked them repeatedly. I haven’t lived in NC in over 4 years. NEVER GIVE THEM TOUR CONTACT INFO.
Thank you for communicating this glitch; if you don’t mind texting the number back so we can ensure you won’t get the automated ai messages.
Fantastic experience: I wanted to thank Megan and Taylor for being so accommodating careful and professional with me today. Megan worked really hard to make sure I was ok at every visit. I totally appreciate her and the comfort she provided.
Fantastic experience: Really had a great experience with Angel and Dr. Ali. Both were very caring and professional. Had two crowns taken care of. Best dental experience ever.
Fantastic experience: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Best Dental Team Ever! Taylor and Megan are absolutely amazing! From the moment I walked in, they made me feel comfortable and cared for. They are professional, kind, and incredibly respectful. They take the time to explain everything clearly and make sure you feel at ease throughout your visit. It’s obvious they truly care about their patients, and that makes all the difference. Thank you, Taylor and Megan, for turning what could have been a stressful experience into something positive and reassuring. Your compassion and professionalism mean so much! Highly recommend this team to anyone looking for outstanding dental care.
Negative experience: They took 4 tries to install a crown. Couldn’t get it done and i lost the tooth. Now i need an implant. On another occasion they told me they had misplaced the crown and that id have to come back another day. At a party i randomly ran into their supplier that mills the crowns. He told me that Crabtree doesn’t pay their bills so they withheld crowns. I could not recommend this dentistry to anyone based on my experience. They did ultimately as much harm to me as good, and their service went from professional to sloppy over a few years. To demonstrate their sloppiness, it is a Sunday and they just automated a message asking me if i can come in. They aren’t even open today. Read Jessica’s review too. I would have originally given a five star review like you’re seeing but I was a patient long enough to see through the facade. Go to lane instead!
Fantastic experience: Very professional as always. Pleasant experience once again. 5 stars.
Fantastic experience: My family has gone here for years, this place is the best! Thank you especially to Naomi and Bianca who are wonderful. Cheers,
Fantastic experience: Megan and Dr.Taylor were amazing they weee informative and kind and I appreciate their amazing detail and Megan’s professional and comfortable spirit
Fantastic experience: My crown decided to fall out Sunday night. I was devastated! However I called Crabtree Valley Dental and I had to leave a message. They immediately called me back and I was able to schedule a same day appointment! My provider was Dr.Taylor and her assistant was Angel and they both were very professional and solved my issue. I was so pleased with my visit that I am going to be a new patient tomorrow and see the hygienist! Great job Dr. Taylor and Angel!
Fantastic experience: Had to have an extraction and Angel and Dr Sadykov made the experience as comfortable as possible and I can’t say how much I appreciate it. Thank you!
Fantastic experience: I had a wonderful experience at Crabtree Vallley Dental. My hygienist Julia was very thorough and professional. The assistant Natalie was extremely helpful and patient. Dr Sadikov was very experienced an knowledgeable about the dental field. Overall Great experience an Crabtree Valley Dental. Would highly recommend to everyone.
Fantastic experience: I enjoyed my initial visit at this office. There is a cozy vibe that I really loved. Naomi did a great job explaining treatments and answering all of my questions. Would definitely recommend!
Fantastic experience: Had an old crown crack. Angel and Dr. Taylor took care of me the next day with a temporary. My family and I have all been going here for a few years now after our previous dentist retired. We love the weekend availability. The staff is always kind and oddly attractive.
Fantastic experience: Julia was excellent! Made feel very comfortable ! and YES, I would recommend her and the whole office staff !!
Positive experience: Dr. Sadykov and Angel were incredibly professional and friendly from start to finish. Both are seasoned in their careers and it is evident in their skills. Very thorough in the their explanation during the procedure, as well as the communication that flowed between the two of them.
Negative experience: I have had a couple of appointments at this office. The first time, they mixed up my information with another patients which caused a long delay. I didn't mind because everyone I encountered was friendly and helpful. I came in again to get work done on a couple of cavities. Again, everyone was helpful and friendly. I paid in full day of. I had another appointment scheduled for a root canal, but cancelled it as I went to a specialist instead. Now 5 months since my last appointment, they sent me a bill for close to $600 with no explanation. I have called the billing office many times over the last two weeks. I have left voicemails and my information with staff to pass along the message. I have still yet to hear back to get this taken care of. The staff I have encountered is all incredibly friendly and helpful. However, the billing department is incredibly frustrating and makes coming to Crabtree Valley Dental not worth it!
Fantastic experience: Okay Besties By far my best dental experience. Megan is AHHHHMAZING! From personality to playlist she made getting a terrible filling almost enjoyable even! She and Dr Taylor are outstanding. 10/10 would recommend. If this isnt your dental office it should be!
Fantastic experience: My hygienist Julia and Dr. Sadykov treated me very kind, they are both very understanding I received many options and pointers , both very knowledgeable , I highly recommend thank you crabtree
Fantastic experience: The staff a Doctors are amazing!!! I feel like family when I’m there.
Fantastic experience: I received a text message to my phone about same day visits so I drove to Crabtree Valley Dental and I was greeted by Ashley the receptionist and she checked me in as a new patient and then I went and saw Caroline and KK and they are the women that took care of my cleaning and we’re very informative to me as to the condition of my teeth as well as any precautions of payment that was due And they went ahead and scheduled me for a follow up appointment Christina, who was the lady who took care of me at the end of checkout was very informative to me and I felt really welcome there and I look forward to returning thank you for outstanding service. I really do feel comfortable here. Thank you.
Fantastic experience: I really love this place! The staff are so nice and welcoming. They make my kids feel confident and comfortable every time we come. It’s a great environment for families — highly recommend!
Fantastic experience: My experience here was great. All the staff was very professional and easy to deal with especially Angel.
Negative experience: A few weeks ago, I was in their office and everyone seems okay.. It's dirty and looks like a third world office. Someone named Katie or Cathy was yelling at people and not very nice. I asked the receptionist what was happening and she kind of filled me in, but it seems so unprofessional. Not sure I will ever return.
Fantastic experience: I had a fantastic experience at this dental office! Dr. Sadykov and Angel were incredibly professional and friendly from start to finish. They took the time to explain everything clearly and ensured I felt comfortable throughout my visit. Their attention to detail and genuine care transformed what could have been a stressful appointment into a surprisingly enjoyable one. Dr. Sadykov’s calm and confident approach, coupled with Angel’s warm and reassuring demeanor, really stood out. They make an excellent team. It’s evident that they truly care about their patients' comfort and experiences. I also want to recognize Julia, my hygienist, as she was gentle, thorough, and very kind, she made the cleaning a quick and easy process. Lastly I appreciate, Kathy, the office manager, for her kindness, transparency, and candor. It’s rare to find a team that balances professionalism with genuine friendliness so well. I highly recommend this office to anyone seeking top-quality dental care.
Fantastic experience: Dr.Taylor is amazing she cares about her patients and is conservative. She listens to her patients and makes them feel like family.
Negative experience: Editing my review as the last year I have not had a good experience here and my last visit was the final straw. I have emailed twice and it’s been over a month and 0 response. For a very long story short, the hygienists and assistants are not trained properly and are careless. The dentist I saw was also careless and performed a treatment on me that she did not get permission to do. My partner and I have left this practice. We used to love it here when Brittany (hygienist) and Dr. Butler worked here, however it appears that there has been some management change and I can no longer recommend this practice.
Negative experience: I have been a patient of this practice for many years. I enjoyed Dr. Wirick and the hygienists were always great. The last year or so, the quality of service has taken a big hit. They canceled my appointment over and over even though I placed it 6 months in advance. Upon arrival we had to wait for them to finish a two hour staff meeting for some reason. The front desk was absolutely unprofessional. The dentist had awful bedside manner and tried to convince us that we all suddenly need extensive dental work. The hygienists were still really good, and they were apologetic, but I can't come here anymore.
Negative experience: I have been going here for years. Years ago I gave this office a 5-star review. Since then I have deleted that review. Here’s why this office has gone down: 1. I had two separate dentist give me a different treatment plan within 3 weeks. The first dentist said I needed the root canal, the second said I just needed a filling… wait… what 2. Another time, I got a filling in another tooth . The filling fell out that tooth 2x within a year. The first time it fell out at 3 months after the filling and the second time it fell out 9 months after the initial filling. After they refilled it a second time, it eventually fell out again a year and a half later. And I was then told that the tooth was no longer COVERED. I have fillings in my mouth that are over 10 years old… I have NEVER heard of a filling coming out 3x in less than 2 years…. In the same tooth. 3. My final straw was when I was scheduled with the male, Indian Dentist . Sorry, I forgot his name. But he has the worst bedside manners I’ve ever experienced. He was so condescending and made it clear I was just a number, not a person. Here I was a Retired Psychologist being talked to like a 2nd grader. I’m still trying to find a new dental office that I can trust. I now have Dental Office PTSD after all these bad experiences. But I would be remissed if I didn’t mention that the Hygienist here are AMAZING! That was the only thing that kept me coming back.
Fantastic experience: Julia the Dental Hygienist was truly amazing! She took great care of me and my smile. She explained each step of the appointment in great detail and I could tell she wanted me to feel at ease. My teeth / gums are very sensitive and she made so many helpful recommendations to help me fix this issue. I will request Julia for each of my next appointments :)
Positive experience: It was a good experience. Done in a very timely manner. Received a cleaning. I was treated very well by my hygienist. She gave me good reviews about my efforts in keeping up with teeth hygiene.
Fantastic experience: I called to schedule appointment, however my insurance was out of network. Shonta’ was very nice and welcoming on our phone call and referred me to an office in net work with my insurance.
Fantastic experience: Brianna, Julia and Dr. Taylor did a wonderful job for a quick and through check up
Negative experience: I felt like I wasn't wanted at Crabtree Valley Dental. I am from Virginia and I wanted to be seen asap because it felt like something was coming from my tooth into my mouth. My appointment was at 10:30 am. The dental assistant told me that I had to come back at 2:00pm. I said ok. Then, she said come back at 2 30pm. I said ok. Then, the dentist Dr. Sarah came in, looked in my mouth and said she didn't see anything wrong except an edge that needed filing. She filed my tooth and told me to go to my regular dentist. I was charged and there is still something leaking in mouth.
Negative experience: After today, I’m switching dentists. Each time I visit, a different doctor offers conflicting advice that contradicts the previous doctor’s recommendations. However, the dental hygienist did a great job on my teeth today.
Fantastic experience: A few years ago I switched from another dental practice to Crabtree based on a recommendation. I’m still glad I did and I plan to stay. The staff is friendly, compassionate AND of course talented and professional. Thanks guys!
Positive experience: I've been going here for many years and never had an issue with the dentists or hygienists but I'm very concerned about changes to the billing and reception staff in the past couple of years. Bills being sent to collection without any communication. Appointment reminders being sent to the wrong person. When you call, no one answers the phone and you get an automated text to reply to instead. I'm okay with texting but it's so slow to get a response via text, if I get a response at all. I love everyone I've seen for my actual dental care but the admin support is getting so stressful, I'm planning to look for another dentist office. Edit: I can see the office has asked me to call so they can discuss further. I've already called. This review followed a call about my experience with their collections agency - which they again sent us to without any bill or communication. If I call, I get a voicemail and an automated text. No one picks up. This feels like a very empty offer to improve.
Fantastic experience: This was the most pleasant and efficient visit I've had in the ten years I've been a patient. Very pleased.
Fantastic experience: Jenae H. is a skilled professional, and caring dentist. She is thorough in her explanations of the technicalities of keeping the teeth in the best of health, and she follows up with skilled cleaning and very good results. She is highly recommended.
Fantastic experience: So thankful for Crabtree Dental! They saved me in a dental emergency and got me I’m asap to fix it! I couldn’t have asked for a better experience from the front desk to the dental providers!
Fantastic experience: I genuinely hate going to the dentist, but Crabtree Valley Dental made it surprisingly pleasant. Everyone was cheerful and kind, and the whole place had this warm, familial vibe. They walked me through the agenda before getting started (a dental agenda=iconic), and explained everything as they went, which completely eased my nerves. It was efficient, friendly, and dare I say… enjoyable? Highly recommend for anyone who wants clarity, kindness, and zero dental dread.
Positive experience: Dr and all staff were amazing to me. I get extremely nervous and they listened to my concerns and alleviated them. Unfortunately something not planned occurred so I have to go back. Best dentists I've ever been to.
Negative experience: I had a dental implant procedure last December, 2024, but the dentist left the office. I was advised to continue my procedure with another dentist, but he does not accept my insurance and requires payment up front. Given the necessity of completing the abutment and crown for my final implant procedure, I proceeded to pay the full amount. I received multiple reminders via text and email about my upcoming appointment, and I was looking forward to completing the implant crown procedure. Unfortunately, the dental assistant called to inform me the day before and told me that the crown was not ready and that she could not provide a new date for the appointment, as she and the dentist have no control over it. She assured me that she would contact the dental lab and follow up with me later that day or the next morning, but she did not fulfill her promise. I called the office and requested my appointment, and the front desk person provided me with an appointment for June 10th but cautioned that she could not guarantee the crown would be ready by then. Here comes again! Mel, Crabtree Valley Dental's assistant, emailed me two hours before my appointment, asking me not to come for my appointment because they do not have my crown ready and didn't provide any definite day for rescheduling. I attempted to reach Crabtree Valley Dental multiple times, but my calls went unanswered. I contacted Mathew Wirick, the owner, and left an email and voicemail, but did not receive his response. This is an unprofessional, unethical, and unreliable service that Crabtree Valley Dental operates. I would not recommend this business to anyone.
Negative experience: Overall not a good experience; I felt very ignored. I got there 10 minutes early, was brought to the back room by one dental assistant where I waited for 40 minutes with no communication before a different dental assistant came and did a very rushed cleaning. The dentist spent no more than two minutes with me.
Negative experience: Warranty Refused After Procedure My dental cap (with a 5-year warranty) broke after just 27 months. The doctor initially assured me it was covered. But after the initial procedure was done, the office refused — pointing to fine print requiring annual cleanings at their clinic. I was shown this condition only after the refusal. Disappointing and misleading experience.
Fantastic experience: I had a very great experience coming in getting my cleaning done. Especially from Genny who made sure all my questions and concerns were met with. I’ve been so conscious about the financial burden that dental work comes with and Genny sat me down and was able to work out a plan to help the problems with my teeth in a helpful way. The rest of the staff are also so pleasant and it’s great to know that these people are looking out for me.
Negative experience: I’ve gone to this practice for over 10 years, and it is now at the end of a good run. I was in last week for what I thought was an extraction after a cleaning. Mass confusion - nothing was ready - so I had to come back this week. Went in again, and nothing was as I was told it should be. No work performed, and the new rent-a-doc refused to do anything saying that I needed sedation dentistry. They tried to ‘hand me off’ to a dentist in Wake Forest that they googled. That dentist says they never received a call or handoff, so maybe they got it confused with another of the same name. Tried the other same-named office, and nothing. So I’m left with a blown-out tooth for over 2 weeks, kicked out of the office, and with nowhere to go. Save your money, folks. When they get to rent-a-doc status, they’ve already gone downhill.
Negative experience: Unfortunately, I can no longer recommend this clinic. They have become completely unreachable—I've tried calling over 10 times with no response. Every time I visit, I confirm in advance that all procedures are covered by insurance and pay any remaining balance at checkout. Despite this, I continue to receive unexpected bills months later. When I bring it up during my next visit, they acknowledge the mistake and assure me it’s resolved—only for another bill to show up again a few months later. The letters threaten further action if I don’t pay, yet they remain unresponsive to calls. This has happened repeatedly, and I'm not the only one. A friend who referred me here had the same issue, and I’ve heard similar stories from others. While the dentists and staff are great—I’ve never had issues with the quality of care—the billing and communication problems make this place feel like a scam. Please be cautious if you choose to go here. The care is solid, but the administrative side is seriously flawed. This was my previous comment: I had a great care/treatment at Crabtree valley dental. They are quick and efficient and the staff is very knowledgable. Thank you.
Positive experience: I really liked this practice initially, the staff is still very nice, but what is going on with the cut backs? No more sample bags after cleanings, the water fridge in the lobby is empty & turned off, & they don't even replace the toliet paper & paper towels in the bathroom. They are sitting on a stand far away from the sink & toliet. For such a nice facility, this is tacky at best!
Negative experience: I had a handful of work done over a 3 month period. With 1 filling left, that insurance won’t cover. I’ve been attempting to call for 2 weeks to get a price quote and set up an appointment. The first time someone answered she told me she couldn’t help me, and to call back the next day. I’ve called 5 times and have gotten the voicemail box every time, with no phone calls returned.
Negative experience: Had kids go in August 2024 since they were covered by pediatric dental through BCBS. Their staff didn’t know how to “Bill medical insurance” so we paid out of pocket ($1,200) and we filed. BCBS denied as they will only take a claim and reimburse from CVD directly since they’re in network and CVD refuses to file or even respond to a billing email or phone call. Been trying to reach them for 6 months, calling and emailing weekly. They’re always “WFH” and they’ll “call me back” but they have never. BCBS has been calling them as well. Seems we’re out a grand for no reason. Now the whole family needs to find a new dentist.
Fantastic experience: Meesha, Lauren, and Emily are the epitome of great customer service. Crabtree valley dental is lucky to have a team like them.
Fantastic experience: I cannot say enough great things about Crabtree Valley Dental! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warm smiles and a welcoming atmosphere. The front desk team—Meesha, Emily, and Lauren—are absolute gems! They are always professional, kind, and incredibly helpful with scheduling, insurance questions, and making sure every visit is as smooth as possible. The entire office runs efficiently, and you can tell they genuinely care about their patients. Whether it’s a routine cleaning or a more in-depth procedure, I always feel well taken care of. If you’re looking for a dental office that combines top-tier care with outstanding customer service, this is the place to go! Highly recommend!
Negative experience: I haven't been a patient here since 2019. I came in for a cleaning originally and I remember it was a nice area so I felt taken care of. My first appointment, they told me I had 12 cavities and needed new imaging. They assured me don't worry, insurance covers it. Turns out, insurance didn't cover it, and I was charged out of pocket for all of those images. I went to a different dentist for a second opinion, and they told me I had zero cavities. Bad service, bad advice from this dentist, so I stopped going here. I moved to a completely different state within a year, but kept the same number. Five days ago, I received an email from collections for a bill of $700 from 2019. I checked my email and I have no record of any bills being sent to me, with zero emails from Crabtree Valley Dental trying to collect. I checked all folders. I have never received a call from them attempting to collect. I now have a mark on my credit for a bill that I can't even find from a dental office I haven't attended in 5 years and have not been contacted by. They don't even answer the phone when you're calling them. I've called them every day this week to resolve it and they only picked up the phone once, told me someone would call me back (they didn't), and I have left several voicemails with no call back. This is the worst run office I've experienced. Take this review and the previous ten 1-star reviews to heart and don't come here if you want to keep your teeth and your wallet intact. EDIT TO ADD: If you find yourself in this situation, you can do what I did: Call the debt collector and request an itemized bill sent to you, specific with dates. Request times of attempted contact that were reported to them. Request a note be made about their communication with you directly- I asked them to put down that I have called 8 times and have not been called back, even after speaking with someone. This can be done for anyone.
Positive experience: Updated- the customer service is nice and the facility is nice looking. I've had great experiences with Dr. Butler's bedside manner at this practice while I was a patient. I find it sketchy that one of their dentists told me I had a clean check up, and their next dentist Dr. Na took over my case and 6 mo later told me I had 6 cavities, had to get my wisdom teeth removed, it would cost $3,000 and they could "start today"... My doctor confirmed she had heard this same thing about this practice and recommended I get a second opinion and go elsewhere.
Fantastic experience: Really have their act together. Best dentist I've used. Also, lovely space that they're in, much warmer than the typically sterile dentist's office.
Negative experience: I’ve been trying to get an appointment since the beginning of December. When I finally thought I got one, 3 weeks later, I get an email saying my appt was cancelled with no explanation. I called them and I was told “idk why you’re getting that email, you’re still on the schedule. Just ignore the email.” So I drive 45 mins today only for them to tell me I am not on their schedule. So frustrating and absurd.
Negative experience: I’ve been a patient at Crabtree Valley Dental for over 6 years, and when I first started going there, the experience was top-notch. From the moment I walked in, the front desk staff was warm, professional, and efficient. Dr. Wirick was outstanding—competent, compassionate, and always provided excellent care. I truly thought I had found the best dental practice, and although, Wirick doesn't see patients anymore, the new dentists are knowledgeable and the hygienists are great. However, over the past year or so, the quality of service has significantly declined—specifically with the front desk staff. I’ve noticed a dramatic drop in professionalism, with staff often appearing disinterested and lacking energy. There’s been a distinct shift in the overall atmosphere, which used to feel welcoming and well-organized. On top of that, I’ve experienced issues with billing, including being incorrectly charged twice for services, which was frustrating and shows the lack of detail orientation their coordinators lack. While I try to maintain a positive outlook and understand that they probably just struggle more than others, the repeated issues with the front desk staff have unfortunately dampened the entire culture of what used to be Crabtree Valley Dental. The lack of professionalism and attention to detail has me seriously wanting to reevaluate my choice of dental practice. I truly hope the practice can get it together with the front desk, as it’s unfortunate that such a stellar dentist’s office is being undermined by poor customer service.
Fantastic experience: I’m always pleasantly pleased. My dentist is amazing, the staff is professional and they always have a smile. I love the beautiful architecture of the place as well.
Positive experience: The office is super nice and I really liked my hygienist. However, I will not be returning. I sought them out specifically because they were in network with my insurance and had good reviews, minus one that said they overcharged him as well. I should have listened to the one review! I expected to have it covered 100% by my insurance because I called my insurance ahead of time. They went over the fees before the cleaning and I told them all was fine because I had already spoken to my insurance but only to do preventive care like the cleaning. While leaving, I got a bill for $194. I was so stunned and just paid it, thinking my insurance would get it all corrected and I would be refunded. I emailed asking for a detailed receipt after and followed up with that question, to which they said once the claim went through, I would be refunded. It has been MONTHS of me calling the office with NO RESPONSE. I have called well over 10 times throughout the months and every time they say the insurance gal isn't in and will call me back. I cannot believe how unprofessional they have been. I ended up calling my insurance and talking with them about my EOB and discovered that Crabtree Valley Dental filed it incorrectly and it should've been 100% paid as my insurance originally said! The insurance proceeded to tell me that this has been an issue with Crabtree Valley Dental with many others and THEY KNOW THE PROBLEM and are choosing not to fix it/continue to file incorrectly. I now see since all this has happened, many reviews where others had the same experience. Let me just save you some time, do not go here if you are worried about money or even just common curtesy to get a call back. Edit: They have since contacted me back and are supposedly fixing the problem. Sheridan, the office manager was very apologetic and kind on the phone and informed me that they have made many internal changes to resolve some of the problems people are mentioning. Will update if the problem is actually resolved. Edit: They ended up reimbursing my money and were very nice about it. I have adjusted the rating to 3 stars because of this. Planning to give them another chance with one more appointment and hoping for no money troubles.
Fantastic experience: I had to get deep cleaning and a tooth extracted, 2 were done the same day. I have been very fearful of any dentist in the past because the way things were handled, but since I have been coming here I have been relaxed and stress free. I thank you all for making everything go smoothly.
Negative experience: Possibly the worst dental experience I've ever had. I had a first visit, for just a cleaning, and all seemed good (nice hygienist, nice dentist, no issues.) Came 6 months later for a couple of fillings. Work seemed ok, but not stellar; I have resin left on the sides of my teeth creating rough spots. Returned a week later for a cleaning and had a HORRIBLE hygienist. So rough I had to stop her part way through the cleaning. I had also told the hygienist I have a connective tissue disorder, which causes my gums to bleed easily, and she blew me off and told me I should floss regularly (which I do every day.) Asked the dentist to polish the rough spots, which she did, but I can still feel rough areas, and my gums are still sensitive near the fillings months later. Paid my co-insurance and went on my way. Fast forward a couple of months, and I receive a bill from the dentist for WAY more than my estimate, saying to "pay in 15 days or be sent to collection." The bill does not reflect insurance payment, and I've not received an EOB, so I call Crabtree. The rep says the "insurance never received it" and she will resubmit it, and assures me that I will NOT be sent to collections. I finally receive an EOB, and expect to receive an updated invoice, but within only a couple of days of the EOB, I receive a COLLECTION notice from a COLLECTION agency. How can Crabtree send you to collection before they even send you a corrected bill Also, the amount on the collection notice is more than what my EOB says I should owe. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this practice and will NOT return. Take good reviews with a grain of salt: they offer people to be entered into a drawing for a vacation if they give a review.
Negative experience: I have an appt scheduled for tomorrow, and now that I see these reviews, I am a bit worried. I called and spoke with a "Chante" or "Jonte", who had an awful demeanor about her. She was mumbling and had no empathy whatsoever.. I'll update after tomorrow, but so far this is a bad start...
Negative experience: Can't say I recommend Crabtree Valley Dental. They fixed my teeth, but I ended up overpaying nearly $1000 after insurance about 2 months ago, and while the front desk and insurance coordinator seem helpful, their billing department has never returned my calls or emails. Update: I was able to file a dispute, since I paid via credit card. It was resolved in my favor after a month. I STILL have not heard from billing. Maybe they never responded to the credit card company, either. ♂️ Update 2: Got a call from the CTO. She said she started in July and is trying to fix things. She apologized, asked a few questions, and confirmed we are fair and square after the credit card dispute was resolved in my favor. So I'm updating this review and bumping it from 1 to 2 stars—can't erase what happened, and I'm still glad I filed the dispute to be safe, but I appreciate the effort. I've moved out of state, so won't be back anytime soon, but hopefully the billing experience at Crabtree Valley Dental will be better going forward.
Negative experience: Run!! Run as fast as you can to another dentist!! You cannot trust their treatment plan - they are just paying for their beautiful office. The phantom billing is relentless. We have not had treatment there in over two years, paid “in full” several times, and it doesn’t stop!! They are the devil - thank the Lord if you see this and are able to find a trustworthy dentist elsewhere. Predators!!
Negative experience: AVOID AT ALL COSTS! THIS PLACE IS THE WORST! First, Dr. Na -- phenomenal -- love her. Nothing in this review is about her. Second, the horrible experience I've had with Crabtree Valley Dental. - Rude front desk every single time I call them. Like have some freaking phone etiquette please. If i say "thank you so much" how hard is it to say "you're welcome" or "no problem at all!" - They booked me for incorrect appointments multiple times (was receiving a dental implant & they booked it for a cleaning) - They booked me as a new patient for one appointment, while being treated for a root canal and dental implant, thought that was odd because where did my history go? Can't you see in my documents that I was indeed not a new patient? - Incompetent financial advisors when discussing treatment plans. They did not know anything they were talking about but they definitely wanted my signature. Why does discussing my financial plan with them feel like I was being pressured into buying a new car?! - Ended up overpaying and dealing with insurance. That was a headache in it's own. They try to show you prices that "other" places could charge you to make it seem like you're getting a discount. It's a crappy sales tactic. Worst of them all: - My dental implant experience has been the roughest of them all - When fitting me for a flipper, the tooth was the incorrect shape, color, everything. Had to send it back to the labs, twice. Mind you, every time they got this wrong, I had to come back. Waste of gas, might I add. - When the crown/dental implant was ready to deliver, it was again the wrong shape and size, so again I had to return. More wasted gas and days off from work. - Every time they do that digital 3D scan of your mouth/teeth - it's done incorrectly and not to mention they dig it in your teeth and gums, causing pain. It's a camera, there's no need to DIG IT IN MY GUMS PEOPLE! Also like if you all suck that bad at it, I'd rather go back to the old goopy impressions. Learn technology or train your people for crying out loud. All in all, this place sucks, I hope they go out of business because of how crappy they handle patients documents, payments, crowns, cleanings, extractions, flippers, X-Rays, scans, etc.
Positive experience: I went for a cleaning yesterday. I told the dental hygienist that I have a sensitive spot and told her where it was. She looked, said, “Oh, I see it.” Then she touched it with her metal tool, and I almost leaped out of my seat in pain. She said they could cover it with a composite since the nerve was beginning to show and that’s why it was so sensitive. If she was so informed, I wonder why she chose to knock my nerve (literally) with a metal instrument. This kind of treatment is why I hate going to the dentist. She didn’t even apologize. I will say, too, that I have gone to this office for a couple of years, and I have never had this hygienist before. I had great and really smart work done by Dr. Hop and his awesome hygienist, who may not be there any longer? I also really like Dr. Butler—she’s super kind and has a calming presence that I really need when I go to the dentist. But I did not see either of them yesterday. It feels like a revolving door sometimes with the hygienists. But I imagine that’s probably true for many dental offices.
Negative experience: Absolutely avoid. This is a predatory place. They will push all kinds of expensive treatments and refuse the basic stuff covered by insurance. After my initial review, they recommended a $800 cleaning. I asked to think about this and requested just the regular cleaning for now. And they simply REFUSED! I get that a deeper treatment might be required but why COMPLETELY DENY the regular clean. As soon I said I would think about it, the whole tone of the attendant changed and I was literally walked out of the office. VERY UNETHICAL.
Negative experience: Went to this dentist for many years I was told when we initially started going that they were an insurance provider for our insurance we have secondary insurance as well for dental. Apparently there were employees there that were not doing their job correctly and filing insurance wrongly and we never received a bill for anything we paid fluoride out of pocket at time because it's generally not covered any other additional items other than the copay we always paid. After several years when new employees came on board someone realized they were no longer doing their job correctly and all of our previous insurance claims that had been filed we're not being paid at the correct level and they sent us a bill for over $1,000 for 2 to 3 years prior visits. They have been unwilling to adjust or help in any manner other than saying they were at fault for not filing it correctly. Just keep saying they'll report to the credit bureau.
Fantastic experience: I can not say enough about this dental group. They were quick in scheduling me in on urgent matter and able to guide me through a plain suitable for my needs. I also like the fact that they are open five days a week and rotating weekends.
Negative experience: I had a 2:30 new patient appointment today and I arrived 30 minutes early to fill out all the necessary paperwork and was told to wait for a nurse to call me back. After multiple people who arrived after me were being called back I decided to ask the front desk if the doctor was still able to see me at 2:50 ( I had been waiting 30+ minutes at this point). They paged back for the doctor’s team and no one came up so decided to leave after another 15 minute wait (3:05). I would have appreciated if the nurse or doctor could have communicated to me or the front staff that they were behind schedule. I took a half day off of work to make this appointment because of tooth pain and I didn’t feel like my appointment or medical concerns were taken into consideration at all.
Positive experience: The good: My children (5 and 7) and I had our teeth cleaned here recently and I felt our dental care was great. The dentist we saw was great with kids and they really liked him. They hygienist didn't seem as comfortable with kids, but she handled them ok. There are TV's on the ceiling which are wonderfully distracting when you are in a potentially uncomfortable situation. The not as good: The first time I called to make an appointment during business hours no one answered, I left a message and no one returned my call. I decided to call again after a week had passed and was able to talk to someone to make an appointment. Having been a dental office receptionist myself, I can say this particular person's customer service could use some help, but that's not indicative of the practice as a whole. At our appointment they hadn't called our previous dentist to get our x-rays ahead of time, so they scrambled to do that while we were there and were luckily able to get them pretty quickly. One of the reasons I chose to come here was their promise of child care on their website. They do have a children's area but it was closed. That was as far as their "complementary childcare" extended. I also tried to connect to their WiFi but it didn't work. Overall, we will keep coming here because it's close to our house, it's a large practice with a lot of available appointments, and their dental care was good, which is arguably the most important metric for a dentist office.
Fantastic experience: Going to the dentist is definitely not an activity I enjoy but this practice is amazing. Every dental hygienist I've had for the past 3 years have been amazing, specifically Heidi. They make you very comfortable, explain every step of the appointment, and thoroughly explain the condition of your teeth and gum health.
Fantastic experience: I've been to them twice and would continue except I'm leaving the area. I've had two appointments, one for a first time visitor and a second visit. Both of them were efficient (took maximum 45 minutes) and the service was good. I particularly like how they have great stain removal (coffee drinker here). Bonus is you can get appointments at 7:30 AM possibly before work.
Negative experience: Worst Customer Service Ever I chose this dental office because they offer Saturday appointments. However, my first three Saturday appointments were canceled, each time being told, “We can’t take you on Saturday, pick another day.” Despite this, I finally received a confirmation for a Saturday appointment, which was even confirmed two hours before my visit. I drove 30 minutes to get there, only to find the office CLOSED. Why you tell people you work on Saturday if you don’t?? You don’t respect your patients. Never will use your services again.
Negative experience: I was told that my insurance would cover all but $70 of my visit. To back this up, I was charged only $70 while in the office. Then 2 weeks later I was mailed an invoice for an additional $250. When I called in to ask about it, I was told someone from billing would contact me, which then never happened I will not be going here again, that's for sure. Just be honest about how much someone will have to pay!! Paying nearly 5x what I expected is outrageous
Negative experience: Update as of June 2024. I have left the practice for the reason I initially enjoyed going. I keep getting bills for services well after I received them and whoever is their Billing Admin is incompetent. It's not just me. I know 2 other folks who left for this exact reason. My husband goes to the dentist and never has issues with his provider so I know it's not our insurance that's the issue but rather how Crabtree Valley Dental handles their billing. I have had instances at other practices where the bill was reasonably off and I had to pay maybe $100 more than what was quoted but CVD sent me a bill more than a year later asking for another $400 or so. Nah. Get someone else to do it. Meanwhile the Billing Admin NEVER follows up as she claims she will and the frontdesk lady did initially follow up about 2x but I still don't have resolution. They also billed me approximately $200 for a CLEANING. Just save yourself the headache and go somewhere else. I went by today and they had a sign on the door saying they were closed due to a power outage but I wouldn't be surprised if that wasn't the sole reason they're closed. Lots of rotating staff. So yeah... I love the fact the new patient paperwork was sent in advance for me to complete. This saves so much time and I can't understand why more medical offices don't do this. Staff was friendly and very communicative. I never even knew cleanings had multiple options until today. The custom approach is nice. Looking forward to my next visit.
Negative experience: Hygienist and providers are great but everything else is nothing but hassle, especially billing. The pre-treatment estimate did NOT match the EOB's from our insurance. This has happened multiple times but this time their billing rep is refusing to process a refund. If you do go for treatments refuse to pay until they submit claims to your insurance! Lastly the owner no longer actively works in the practice and is clueless about day to day operations. We are looking into a new dentist for our family.
Fantastic experience: I’m found them because they accept my insurance but I’m so pleased that they were so accommodating with appointment availability, good prices, lots of smiling faces and crowns available the same day. A bonus is the atmosphere appearing similar to a plantation house. I look forward to my next routine visit in 6 months.
Negative experience: If you are planning to use your dental insurance, STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS. I went here for an emergency tooth extraction. They took care of it very fast and scheduled me another appointment to check the procedure area. I paid out of pocket for the extraction as my insurance would not cover. I had my dental insurance recently, so I decided to cleanse my teeth in the next appointment as my insurance covers two dental cleansing a year. In second appointment, they upsold me radiographic images. I didn't know at the time that it was not covered by my insurance. Also, I don't understand why they needed to get x-ray imaging for a dental cleansing operation. Anyways, I gave them my insurance info and then left. After a month or so later, I received an email indicating that I have an upstanding balance of $295 with them. I called the office and told them that my insurance should cover. They said my claim is still processing and I can disregard the email. Albeit, I received the email every single month till insurance notified me that my claim is declined because their ingenious front office took my last name and my address wrong. I called them and corrected their records. They refiled the claim. A month later, the insurance company notified me that my claim is processed and I owed them approximately $110 (x-ray imaging). Even though, I feel tricked I was fine paying this amount. However, when I checked my statement online, all of a sudden the balance jumped to $450 and they are charging me that amount minus the insurance coverage which is around $300. I proceeded with my monthly call with this office and told them that I won't pay any amount more than the insurance notified me. They yielded and told me that I was correct. However, now it is extremely difficult to reach out to them for some reason as every single time I call them I am being told that the person that I am supposed to talk is busy. They take my number, but no one calls me back. This has happened three times so far. I just want to pay what is due and be done with this dental office. Overall, it is a very fancy dental office with incompetent staff. The care I received was good, but the rest was horrible. Not worth your money or time.
Positive experience: Editing this from 4 stars to 3 stars. At my last appt I was told I needed about 17 sealants to prevent cavities, but had never been told that in my many years of visiting my prior dentist. I needed to switch to a new office that was in my dental insurance network, and they did a great job and did not encourage me to pay lots of $ for likely unnecessary sealants. I was also told I had a cavity (first time in my life). I got it fixed the same day since they had time, and I just wanted to get it over with. Now...I'm questioning if it was even that urgent. I wonder if it would've gone away. (Occasionally, very small cavities can heal on their own). I take very good care of my teeth, but my experience at Crabtree dental did not make me feel that way during some of my visits...
Negative experience: This was the worst experience I have ever had at a dentist. I had a dental emergency and they were kind enough to see me the same day I called. I went in for an abscess bc of my own neglect and avoidance of not getting a crown that came off, replaced in a timely manner. I was told before I went that this was probably going to hurt due to numbing medication not being as affective. Dr Nah seemed very kind and explained I would need to get it removed or a root canal. I asked her if it could be drained bc I was worried due to me being on the second day of antibiotics and it still being painful. She agreed to perform the drainage. She then placed numbing on the surface and began injecting numbing medication via needle. She gave about three shots of numbing meds. Of course this was painful as expected. I was squirming in my seat and she said she would give it a few minutes to kick in. She left me in the room with no assistant to do any suction as the fluid from meds and abscess fill my mouth. I am left sitting there holding this in my mouth for a good 3 minutes. Assistant returns and I motion to her that I need suction. the assistant suctioned and then Dr Nah returns and begins to cut open the abscess. It is tremendously painful. I CAN FEEL EVERYTHING. I am squirming in my seat and moaning in horrible pain. I am pretty much doing everything to let them know I am in horrible pain other than jumping out of my seat. I left the dental office and cried for an hour. On my way out I asked if they had gas (nitrous). The front desk assistant stated they did. I was told that if they had gone deeper with the medicine and closer to the bone it would not have been that painful. When I returned for the follow up I asked why I was not given more pain medication or nitrous for the procedure they knew would be painful. Dr Nah stated I still would have felt something no matter how medicine she gave me. I was very kind when speaking but I explained to her that this was the worst experience at a dental office I have ever had and that i don’t understand if they knew that it would have been such a painful procedure why they didn’t attempt to make me more comfortable or even let me know that the nitrous was even an option. She stated that they would give me some today. I was then moved to the ONE room they provide nitrous and she came in. She did not place any surface numbing when I told her that the spot was still in a lot of pain. I asked for it and she said “we are just removing the suture”. I thought that they were going to be removing more of the infection and sewing the cut back up. I then proceeded to tell her that if that was going to be the only thing done then I wouldn’t have asked for the nitrous. She then proceeded to leave and slam the door behind her. After telling them how dissatisfied with the neglect I felt from the first appointment they still charged me $42 to receive nitrous for her to pull a piece of cotton out of my mouth. They never took my blood pressure before giving me nitrous, they let me walk out STILL high from the gas and drive myself home. I sat in my car for a few minutes trying to sober up and just really upset about the horrible service I had received. The assistant I had the second round was kind and really put in an awkward situation. I just can’t believe I was able to feel so much and that there was no kind of mercy or attempt to give me anymore medication. They closed at 2:30 during that first appointment and I believe they were prioritizing getting out the door over my comfort. They should have simply denied me if they were not going to be able to provide the proper service for my situation. I am never stepping foot in there again and I would never recommend this place to anyone. I feel extremely traumatized from the experience there and super disappointed that they didn’t try to provide ANY comfort. Who leaves patience with no assistant, no suction, and just simply no care for the pain. Thank goodness I am aware of better dentistry out there.
Fantastic experience: I suffered a fall after having foot surgery a week ago, the scooter took me down and I hit my mouth on the floor and my front tooth needed to be checked because I didn’t want to lose it. Well I ended at Crabtree Dentistry because my Daughter in law works there and I was checked out and got good news that my tooth was going to be a keeper. So thankful!
Fantastic experience: My six-month cleaning was great. All went well! I have been to many dentists in my 76 years. This was (I believe) my third visit. This will be my place for dental care until my years run out. Thank you, Crabtree Valley Dental, for excellent dental care.
Fantastic experience: The service was awesome from the time I checked in until the time I checked out. Dr. Butler was great! Dr. Na was great! The assistants I had were awesome, thanks to everyone that helped me today. Very welcoming atmosphere!!! Go see them for your dental needs!!!!
Fantastic experience: Great visit with Crabtree Valley Dental. The staff are fantastic and Dr Na is simply the best. All work to put you at ease and make seeing the dentist a much more pleasant experience instead of the nightmare it has always been. From someone who was traumatized by dentist in the past and has a huge fear of dentist I can highly recommend Crabtree Valley Dental!
Negative experience: The last few times my wife and I have gone to Crabtree Valley Dental, we have worse and worse customer service. Today was culmination when the staff could not verify my insurance before pushing to take X-rays after communicating that they would provide all the details for me. After taking me back without any information, I was informed that I could not receive any teeth cleaning unless I paid for multiple X-rays. I really wish they could be able to serve my family but they are proving otherwise.
Fantastic experience: Great staff. I was very pleased. My dentist of 42 years retired. So, I have been searching for a new dentist. I have finally found it! Callie my dental hygienist explained what she was using and why. Every step was explained in great details. Callie took her time. She did not act as though she was rushing to get to the next patient. Wonderful dentist office to visit. Awesome dental hygienist!
Fantastic experience: For the few times I have gone to Crabtree Valley Dental I have found the entire staff to be friendly as well as professional. My personal dentist is Dr. Hopfensperger who spends the time to explain and treat my dental issues. Also want to add that their patient waiting room is very comfortable.
Fantastic experience: I was terrified to go back to the dentist after 22 years. The office is converted residential space, nicely appointed. The staff helped me feel comfortable and did not pressure me to do anything. I’m so tentative letting somebody mess with my mouth…. My options were presented and clearly explained.. Now it’s up to me, taking the next step, deciding my plan. Dr Na understood my pain and dilemma. Thank you! I’ll be back.
Fantastic experience: Everyone is extremely nice and gave me the best care. I hadn't seen a dentist in a long time(shame on me) and was expecting a scolding but the staff and Dr's were so sweet and understanding. I am so glad to have found them.
Fantastic experience: I had some decay forming around a 20 year old silver filling. I’m generally pretty brave when it comes to dental work, but this had me rattled more than I’m used to. Throughout the process, I had an amazing hygienist named Mel who took the time to talk with me about all of my anxiety leading up to the procedure. She even got me setup with a doctor she believed would be the most understanding and comforting, Dr. Butler. Now let me tell you, Mel was not wrong! Dr. Butler and her hygienist may be the best team I have ever had during a dental procedure. They were as quick and painless as possible and even had me laughing and bopping my toes to the tunes they had playing. You can tell they love what they do and have each others backs and that is a huge comfort while you have 20 instruments hanging out of your mouth hehe. I feel bad for not recalling the hygienists name, but I will learn it soon because she asked if I would like them to be my team for all future visits and I pounced at the opportunity! I respect the roulette wheel setup in many medical offices these days, but once I discover people I can trust…I appreciate the option to have the same set of hands greasing up my gears :)
Fantastic experience: I absolutely loved my first experience here! The building is absolutely gorgeous (I bragged to my close ones that I was spending the day at a lodge). All staff are very friendly and welcoming! Cassie did an amazing job with the deep cleaning. Dr. Na was thorough and meticulous while also very patient while performing a filling during my first dental visit in years. Highly recommend!!
Negative experience: For the second time in one year, Crabtree Valley Dental has cancelled my appointment without any notification, and I have shown up for my appointment with no hygienists at the facility at all to clean my teeth. Will be looking for a new dentist due to lack of communication and care for their patients and their time. Update: After stating that they will investigate this event, Crabtree Valley Dental has yet to call me days later, much like they did not call me to cancel or reschedule my appointment. They have continued to show they have little care for their patients and have provided no service recovery for cancelling my appointment with no notification.
Negative experience: First of all I think it should be noted that this office persuades their clients to leave google reviews to win prizes and free trips. So people leave five star reviews in hopes to win their give aways- they not really true reviews. I have been a client here for over four years and almost every time I’ve come I see a new dentist. They have extreme trouble keeping all staff- even before Covid. I’ve had major dental work done incorrectly. I’ve been stuck here because it’s “under warranty” and they are fixing the issue- but only more problems have come of this. I’d also like to add that it was just by chance that an assistant told me it should be under warranty. They were not planning on fixing their problem to begin with. Do NOT come here! The office is pretty sure but it is overall managed very poorly.
Fantastic experience: Final wisdom tooth removal (as a person over 50) went very well. Dr agreed to my request to cut out the tooth instead of trying to loosen & pull. Made a huge difference in pain after procedure. Very professional and skilled team. I’ve been a patient since this office opened and have been very satisfied with all aspects of service. Highly recommend!
Fantastic experience: I have seen Dr. Nico twice now and he is the best dentist I have been to since I was a kid. He seems genuine and honest and I don't question his decisions (like I did with previous dentists). For instance, I was told I had multiple cavities but when he looked at my teeth, he almost looked incredulous and basically said I don't know what they were talking about. He listens to my concerns and has even made a few suggestions for follow-up care that I believe are truly helping. The front desk staff and hygenists and everyone in that office are truly kind. Just this morning, I was frustrated because I knew I was going to miss my appointment because I was so stuck in traffic (I had even left early to avoid it) and I am sure my frustration was heard on the line without intending it to be directed at them. The person who answered (I believe MJ?) heard me, empathized, and even offered to shift my appointment which was so unbelievably understanding. Even though they shifted my appointment due to my tardiness, they STILL apologized if I had to wait more than a minute. I've been going here for years but they really made me feel like a patient they cared about and not just a money bag.
Negative experience: Dr. Nicholaev and my hygienist were both very nice; however, nothing else about my experience was good, so I will not be going back. First, I submitted my new patient paperwork online to save time, but when I got to my appointment, the paperwork never came through so I had to fill it all out again. They had actually emailed me ahead of time for my insurance information, too, but I guess they never got the insurance in my response. I have Ameritas dental insurance, which I know isn’t the best, but I was not expecting my appointment to cost me $400. I have sensitive teeth so I did expect about $160 of this charge because the practice was very good about telling me what each scan or sensitivity coating would cost; however, when they told me at checkout that I owed them almost $500, I told them that did not seem right and asked for an itemized bill. They would not give one to me, but THEN told me they would bill my insurance. Why didn’t they even try to bill my insurance first? After all, I had given them my insurance information 3 times at this point. I left after paying my expected $160. Awhile later, I get the post-insurance bill in the mail, which was about $120 less than what they were charging me initially. However, they still didn’t send me what the charges were for, so I sent the bill back to them with a written request for a description of the charges. Awhile later, they did finally send the description of charges to me and I paid the bill. On top of all of this, my appointment was 2 hours (usually mine are about 30 minutes). It is a very visually appealing dentist office with top of the line gadgets, and it is quite clear in hindsight that this would be a pricey appointment.
Fantastic experience: I have been coming to Crabtree Valley Dental since I moved to NC about two years ago, and I love it! A friend of mine from work recommended them to me and I'm so thankful she did. Crabtree Valley Dental has great service, great dentists, and great support staff! A special shout out to Marcy who has recently helped me on my Invisalign journey! I appreciate you going above and beyond to assist me, for getting me what I needed so quickly, and for providing such amazing customer service. I appreciate you!
