Fantastic experience: I really cannot express how wonderful this office is. I've been to countless dental clinics over the last two years trying to fix what should have been a routine procedure that went really awry at other practices. Dr. Paulson and his staff are so kind, patient, and generous with their time and expertise. They're genuinely trying to help, and have gone way out of their way to accommodate my needs. My options til now have been to either be entirely dismissed, pay thousands out of pocket for no relief, or a drill and bill approach without much investigation or inquiry. Their kindness and integrity is really restoring my faith in dentistry.

He treats every patient with genuine care, takes time to explain each step, and makes you feel completely at ease. His gentle approach and precision show how much pride he takes in his work. It’s rare to find a dentist who combines such skill, kindness, and sincerity. I trust him completely and feel grateful to be in his care.

Negative experience: I am a senior on a fixed income and have Ohio Medicaid. I have a gay child and many gay friends, so was thrilled to see an ad about a dentist who didn't discriminate. What I didn't realize is the Bauer Dental Group DOES discriminate against those of us who are poor, although they did say they could set up a payment plan for me. I can't afford groceries so how can I adhere to a payment plan? Thanks anyhow. P.S. Please note the lady I spoke with was very kind.

Fantastic experience: Great atmosphere of dental professionals. Highly recommend Dr Bauer @ Bauer Dental Group. I was afraid of dentists and having some procedures used for cleaning or in preparation to get dentures. They helped me manage this fear with their caring approach to my dental needs.

I went in for a cleaning with my favorite hygienist, Jake, who noticed a small issue with a tooth and don’t you know, Dr. Bauer took the time right then to correct the problem so I wouldn’t have to make another trip in. Hinkle owned the practice at that time. Ownership and leadership due to death and retirement have changed over the years. However, personalized, patient centered, high quality dental care and services has remained constant. No complaints, nothing but good things to say about the practice.

The dentist was very professional and my discomfort was almost non-existent. The attendant was wonderful and very informative. I left with plenty of knowledge for my follow-up self care. These are the folks to see if you need dental work.

Fantastic experience: The check in receptionist was cheerful and helpful. The hygienist, Jake, was very kind and professional. He made sure I was positioned comfortably as I have had previous neck surgery. He took full mouth X-rays and cleaned my teeth as he explained what he noticed about my teeth and gums. He made recommendations about how to best clean my teeth and care for my gums. Dr. Paulson went over my X-rays and examined me. He recommended the immediate replacement of a cracked filling. Fantastic experience: It would be difficult to find a better dental practice than this one. Every encounter with the staff, including the lovely ladies in Reception, the dental hygienist, Mya, the dental assistant, Nadia, and of course Dr. Bauer himself, has been excellent. Each step of the process, no matter who it involves, is well explained with a friendly, yet professional demeanor. Beyond that, I recently had an issue that came up three days before a flight overseas. This incredible team went above and beyond to make sure that I was taken care of before my departure. Fantastic experience: My family and I have been seeing Dr Bauer for many years. He and his colleagues are wonderful: friendly and highly skilled experts. They've been there with us for twice yearly checkups and dental emergencies. They're the greatest.

Positive experience: All good except I had to make an extra trip to the office to get crown put on that didn't show up from the lab. Everyone was nice, especially Crissy, who took the time to answer all my questions about dentistry. 5* facility.

Fantastic experience: The overall experience was excellent. The office was efficient and I did not have to wait. This was my first experience with Dr. Schumacher and he was thorough in explaining my crown issues. Due to time constrains on my part, he took care of my problem the same day. Date: oct 16th 2023. This was 2nd visit. Jennifer the dental assistant was excellent. Took xrays and did a thorough cleaning and discussion with Dr. Schumacher. He checked my teeth and took care of a tooth that was causing my lower lip to impinge. Overall the experience was very pleasant. 5/16/3024 I took my wife as a new patient and she was very pleased with Dr. Schumacher's treatment. She was scheduled for refilling of cavity and crown. 5/22/25 My wife and I switched dentists as Dr. Schumaker retired. Dr. Paulson who has taken over the practice was excellent. As usual the office is on time and efficiently run. Faith my hygienist was very good.

Fantastic experience: I am a new patient and really enjoyed my visit. First, I was 30 minutes late because there was an accident on the freeway, but they made time to see me and didn't make me feel bad at all for the mishap. Heather was my hygienist and she was very friendly and did a great job cleaning my teeth. The doctor was friendly too. I can't wait to go back! Update: Still love this place, everyone is so happy and Dr. Bauer is the best. They have a new doctor joining the team and sent out a mailer to patients, and I thought it captured the friendly and happy vibe of the place.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Matthew A. Paulson is very professional and very personable. His skill level is one of perfection. He makes sure his patients are comfortable and satisfied. His work is excellent! I've never had an occasion where I felt or had a thought he did not do his best work. He explains what he is doing. He explains the whys and will answer questions until you understand. When he installed an implant, I had no pain. When he put fillings in, I had no pain. He always asks if it hurts. If it does he works his magic to make sure you are not in pain. Dr. Paulson transitioned from the practice he worked at for many years to the current location. I was unsuccessful in locating where he had moved. The dental board had no updated information. Therefore, I went to the old location to get my cleaning. The atmosphere was not welcoming. No one said hello. There was no soft music playing. You could tell he had been the core of this dental business. It was like the good spirit had left. The hygienist at the former location told me she thought I was going to be late........ because I was on time? It made no sense. No hygienist should say such a thing to a dental patient. I was offended. The dentist did not introduce herself and thought she had serviced me before. No. She also did not provide a satisfactory resolution to the pain in my tooth. That's when I knew I had to try again to find Dr. Paulson. I searched the internet, Facebook, and Instagram. I found him! I made an appointment and he fixed my problem! Of course I laid into him for leaving me! LOL!! The staff at this dental office are so friendly! They laugh. They can relate to my unique personality. It's like being with family, and I've met this staff only twice as of today! Dr. Paulson is the best dentist I've ever had. I'm not a spring chicken so I have experienced many dentist . Dr. Matthew A. Paulson has topped them all!!! What a blessing!!

Fantastic experience: Yesterday, 9/10/2024, I was at Schumacher and Bauer, DDS, to have two cavities filled and a crown placed on an implant. Dr. Bauer and Tasha were consummate professionals in addressing the filling of my cavities and the placement of my crown! Every action these two dental professions did was almost pain-free (filling the cavities) and left my teeth looking great! Dr. Bauer was so careful in making certain that the color of my crown matches the color of my other teeth. I consider myself fortunate to be a patient of the excellent dental practice!

Fantastic experience: I was experiencing pain on a Saturday and called Dr. Schumacher. He was great and determined what the problem was and what to do so that I was comfortable thought the weekend until I could get in first thing Monday morning! He and the staff are wonderful and highly recommend to anyone looking for a dentist that cares about their patients.

Fantastic experience: I was notified by mail to schedule my annual cleaning. Within a week , a canine cap came loose. I called and got in at 7:30 the very next morning. They did a cleaning AND reconnected the cap. They were awesome! I felt very comfortable in my visit. They are knowledgeable, respectful and very warm and friendly. I trust them % and recommend that you'll be happy. On a scale of 1 to 10 (highest), I'd give them a 10 1/2.

Fantastic experience: S & B are the best of the best dentists in central Ohio. Trust me all dentists are not the same. We had both retired, my wife talked me into going to her dentist in a small town where we live in Madison County about a year ago. I had had a number of health issues in the past couple of years and she worried about me driving on 315 to get to the dentist. Long story short. I needed emergency dental work done. The local dentist had not impressed me. She called Dr. Bauer and told them I was in pain with a tooth that was infected. Would they take me back as a patient? Not only did they agree they got me squeezed in the same day! I had been going to S & B since a boy, when it was Dr. Schumer and Dr. Hinkle in downtown Columbus. It is well worth the drive if you want quality dental care at reasonable cost. The staff is welcoming and wonderful. I missed them all. Since it appears I will be hanging around for a few more years. As long as I am still able to drive I will be going to S & B for my dental care. It was a very busy day on Wednesday when they took me in on short notice. I really appreciated it! They were so busy I didn’t get to say hi to my dental tech Heather. I did hear her mention she heard George talking with Nadia. Hopefully Dr. Bauer wasn’t too worn out. He had to take his son to the first day of kindergarten today! My wife and daughters are calling me Popeye now! LOL believe me I got a good nights sleep last night and an feeling much better today! ❤️❤️❤️

It was already recommended by my former dentist to replace an old crown. Dr. Bauer concurred and explained why. The whole procedure went extremely well. Fantastic experience: I had 2 teeth knocked out in the 90’s. Got them fixed and didn’t have any problems until 2 ago. My son had his teeth fixed by Dr Bauer and the results were amazing. Over the last year Dr Bauer has prepared my mouth for the transformation that took place yesterday March 13, 2024. Clean, comfortable, accommodating. ***Additional review: Had a filling today. Opted for no numbing. Dr. Bauer did a solid, quick job, and by my choice to skip the numbing, I didn't lose my whole evening. Was fine as soon as he was done! Great!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to Dr Bauer for many years. The hygienist who does my cleanings is really gentle and puts up with my sensitivities and texture/sensory issues so well. My last one did too- when my last one retired I was really worried, bc I never had a hygienist that I liked before. These have been my 2 best- and it’s been several years with both of them. Dr Bauer is always super positive and very efficient. He is skilled and thorough and doesn’t miss a thing. I highly recommend this practice if you are also sensitive and have a low pain tolerance.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Schumacher is terrific! He does excellent work, explains the process very clearly, and gives you a beautiful smile. I made the mistake of switching dentists closer to home so I could care for a loved one. After a bad experience I went back to Dr. Shumacher to fix a crown that the other dentist put on crooked. Very satisfied with Schumacher & Bauer, DDS.

Fantastic experience: Thank you Drs. Schumacher and Bauer!!! After years of meticulous dental care from Dr. Schumacher I had a molar removed. It was very old (not telling my age) with a filling, root canal, and a gold crown. Dr. Bauer made this extremely uncomfortable situation as comfortable as possible. Fantastic experience: Another excellent experience. Dr. Bauer and his team are professional, efficient, and friendly. I came in with a broken tooth. Dr. Bauer explained what he was doing along the way and made me feel comfortable. The office has some cool technology and I enjoyed watching the process of having my teeth 3D scanned as they made and fitted my crown. Would highly recommend.

Positive experience: The staff is really nice, but they could be more clear about pricing. I called and asked in person at the appointment how much a retainer is and they told me it was $202 when I specified that I wanted both the bottom and top done. When I go to pay I got told that it is going to be $404 instead. If that is what it is for both arches, then that’s fine but I would have appreciated the total cost be presented upfront. I would probably go back, but be more careful about things like this in the future.

Fantastic experience: All the shiny facets of the jewel that is Schumacher & Bauer (and crew!) encourage my enthusiastic “You gotta choose this dentist’s office!”. Have children? Bring them. Feel shy about your teeth? Come. If there is such thing as a dental spa (because one leaves in better health and the treatments make better smiles), Schumacher & Bauer is that. Expertise and care abound.

Fantastic experience: All I can say is Dr. Schumacher is one of the most patient and understanding dentists I have ever had. Yesterday I had to get a bridge and this was a VERY emotional decision for ME because it involved my front tooth and having to damage two teeth that were perfect. On top of that I literally smile ALL THE TIME. I have a very PUBLIC job and it's my smile that I rely on to meet the needs and comfort my constituents. I made the decision tearfully to get the bridge versus the implant because of cost. Dr. Schumacher comforted me, and not one time did he ever get an attitude or have an unpleasant disposition. He continually spoke to me in that soothing voice and restored my smile to PERFECTION!!! He is such an awesome dentist and truly a gem! I fell in love with him the first time I ever visited his practice in 2017. My self esteem has suffered since the loss of my front tooth and to now be restored with a beautiful smile is AMAZING. I can not leave out his assistant that worked with me yesterday. I really wish I could remember her name. She was like my personal angel and she also guided me through this process. She listened to me, wiped my tears, and helped me make this difficult decision without bias. I swear angels work there. Thank you everyone even the ladies at the front desk. Fantastic experience: I have never had such a thorough dental check and cleaning. My hygienist Steven was fabulous. He made me feel comfortable the entire visit. Extremely knowledgeable and provided great patient education. Dr. Bauer was also fantastic. He spent a significant amount of time talking to me about my dental health and making sure that I understood the issues. The entire staff from front desk to dental chair were friendly and welcoming to me. I normally do not like going to the dentist; however, this group made it a pleasant experience. This is the way healthcare should be.
