At Western Dental & Orthodontics in Redding, we're all about teeth - young ones, old ones, shiny ones, crooked or chipped ones. Our general dentists, specialists and hygienists are all under one roof. Which means that treatment for implants, braces, or periodontal care can take place at the same office. Negative experience: This place pulled my tooth without numbing it. Threatened to make me leave halfway through the procedure because I was crying because I was in pain and traumatized me to the point of needing therapy to see the dentist again. If I hadn't been so young (2.5 years ago) I would have had a lawsuit. DO NOT GO HERE

Negative experience: DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME, LISTEN TO THE WARNINGS IN THE REVIEWS! I am a pretty understanding and patient person having worked customer service my whole life. Please listen when I tell you that this place is a literal waste of time and money. Complete scam! I was seen earlier in 2025 and that appointment went... so-so. There were long wait times and I wasn't that happy with the work done on my teeth. Unfortunately, this is the ONLY place in Redding that takes my insurance. I scheduled my follow-up appointment well in advance, for them to cancel on me the day before! Rescheduled and waited over a month... got cancelled on AGAIN! When I finally got in at the end of December, which was the last chance I had before I was cancelling the insurance, I sat in the cold exam room for 2 hours with no one acknowledging me or updating me. When I finally had had enough and needed to leave for work, I left the room and attempted to speak with the women at the checkout counter. She was on a call, so I waited patiently. Instead of acknowledging me with a look or a smile or literally anything, she finished her call, completely ignored me and just picked up another call. I walked out after cancelling my appointment with the check-in employee. The WORST service I have ever received! I honestly don't care about your excuse of only having one doctor and that he does everything, including the cleanings. Not only is that an inefficient business decision, but it completely disrespects your patients' time and needs. Don't schedule patients if you can't see them and staff your clinic properly. Please listen to the warnings and figure something else out for your dental care!

Negative experience: This place is absolutely the worst dentist I've ever been to. They're off office staff lies constantly and doesn't keep you informed on anything. Do not go to this dentist if you can go to someone else.

Negative experience: Scheduled appointments for my 8 year old and 2 year old over the phone, we live like 2 hours away- no providers have openings or take our insurance where we live. Get to the office and find out they wont see my two year old, even though they told me over the phone they would and scheduled the apt for him. Well whatever, so we still wanted the 8 year old seen after driving for 2 hours to make it to the appointment. Waited 2 hours just for xrays then get put back in the waiting room because he has cavities and it was our understanding that he'd AT LEAST get a cleaning? No. We waited 4 more hours so that the dentist could put a mirror in his mouth and move on to the next patient because they were getting close to closing time. AWFUL practice, extremely long wait times. Seriously need to work on scheduling if theres only one doctor and the excuse is that their too overbooked.

Negative experience: I took my son to Western Dental in Redding as a new patient, hoping to finally get help for the spacer that has been hurting him for weeks. I regret ever walking through their doors. His appointment was scheduled for 1:30 PM. We sat in that waiting room until 3:30 PM, watching every single person who came in after us get taken back before my son. Not one update, not one apology, nothing. I kept going up to the front desk because something clearly wasn’t right. Every time, they told me they were “waiting on an X-ray transfer.” Then finally—after TWO hours—the front desk casually told me that because he’s a new patient, they couldn’t even do an X-ray in the first place. So we were literally waiting for something they knew wasn’t going to happen. My son sat there in pain, and we were completely ignored. The way we were treated made me feel invisible and dismissed. No child or parent should ever feel like that at a dental office. I walked out furious, frustrated, and heartbroken for my son who still didn’t get help. Please, trust the bad reviews. Do not bring your kids here. I wouldn’t wish this experience on anyone.

Negative experience: One star because I had to Had a 8:30 appointment left after waiting 3 hours they somehow forgot about me!! No way to run a business! I asked for a refund and we’ll see if that happens

Negative experience: Waited over an hour past my appointment time without being seen before walking out. How are you running over an hour behind schedule at 8:30am? Thanks for wasting 2 hours of my PTO, I'll send you a bill. Then when you try to call customer service to complain. No matter who you are transferred to they say "oh actually you need to talk to _____" and put you on hold again. This entire company is an incompetent joke.

Negative experience: One star because the location. But my goodness this place is ridiculously slow. A 10am appointment led to being seen at 1pm. With one provider is atrocious.

Fantastic experience: The staff were so pleasant, Gabrielle and Dr. Mallari were so kind and patient with me through my appointment and really made me feel like I was being heard. Yes there is always a wait time but if I can wait a couple months to get in, then I can sure as heck wait a couple hours. I see so many patients yelling at the front staff as if it's their fault for the wait, it's not, so if your going to be rude and yell bring it to corporate, not them. They are just doing their job. Anyways, this place is great, and I'm grateful to have a place in redding that accepts my insurance!

Fantastic experience: They definitely have horrible wait times.... But the most important to me is that the dentist actually did a great job. He took his time and did a great job. I am very happy with my new denture. I have been going to western dental for years and I know that I'm going to have to wait when I have an appointment and that's the only bad thing I can say. I have never had any problems with cleanings, fillings, root canals, crowns and now dentures services. They always do a good job

Negative experience: This office is a joke, I went with my husband and we were there for 5 hours before they accidentally checked him out without him even being seen. Then when I asked what was going on, they put him in a chair just so he could wait another hour before being tended to because of how over booked the Dr is. They have no concern for their patients and no professionalism in their staff! And I work for a dentist office, the only person I feel for in this office is the Dr. because he is under paid and over worked! If I could give negative stars I would!

Negative experience: After visiting this office for a 2:00pm appointment and waiting 4 hours to be seen by the dentist, I was done with this office. The subsequent days I called the office asking for a release of records form to be emailed to me. Each time the receptionist promised to send it and I received nothing. I have now called their office five times over the course of two weeks and still await my transfer of records waiver to transfer my medical records to a different office.

Negative experience: Very understaffed, one dentist for the entire office. My daughter waited two hours AFTER her appointment time to be seen, then another hour and a half in the chair, then had to reschedule for the cleaning to come back again; not looking forward to it. Avoid this place if you are in any type of hurry and don’t have at least four hours blocked out of your schedule.

Negative experience: The worst place ever. I can't post unless there is one star. When I went to write a review there was one already with 5 Stars already with a review I did not write. Unbelievable. Checked in and waited 5 hours then told that they did not check me in and to try tomorrow. Dentist dropped my dentures prototype and broke a tooth off. Put it back on the wrong way without a refit and it does not fit. Got stuck in my mouth cut my gums and broke when getting out. It's the second ones because the prototype was wrong and he will not stop man explaining why he can't take responsibility for dropping the prototype. That is why it won't fit. Insurance has to be refunded. I will go elsewhere. Totally a waste of time. Almost a year.

Negative experience: I wouldn’t go here because I waited almost 2 hours close to three hours and the woman talk to you like a little kid. I wouldn’t suggest I would not go here. There are so many better options of dentist. These guys should be out of business.

Negative experience: If I could give 0 stars I would. I made an appointment and had to wait 9 months to just have them cancel on me. So I waited and made another appointment to wait 5 months for it. Finally got an appointment and after waiting for 30 minutes in the waiting room, it turns out that it will be about another 1.5 hours or longer to just be seen. They even said it’s only for X-rays and no cleaning and it is because they only have one doctor on the floor. I was told for many years to not go here and I definitely agree to this at this point. Don’t go here unless you want to waste time.

Positive experience: The wait is ridiculous. They keep me coming back for every thing that needs to be done. I've come back 4 different times to get dentures and still need to come back at 2 more times. I don't have the dentures yet! One day I waited 3 hours so I got a new appointment and left. I am on Medicare and partnership. So I don't have a lot of choices.

Negative experience: 10/8/2025 Ever been "gaslighted?" When office manager tried to accuse me of not following their instructions to get properly seen for emergency extraction. I originally went into office before noon after seeing my dentist who doesn't do extractions. I went to Western Dental knowing they do extractions. My dentist offered to send Western Dental X-rays via e-mail to get findings and referral to request oral surgeon to extract my tooth. The receptionist said that they wouldn't take my X-rays done that day by my dentist office, they have to do their own. (AKA greed $) The receptionist asked "can you come back at 2 pm?" Yes! I need this tooth pulled! When showing up for my appointment the same receptionist "Ashley" laughed that I actually showed up for my 2 pm appointment (Huh?) The office manager rudely said "we need a referral before we can see you!" I said "I was going to get one in the 1st place, when coming in that morning!" The front office were non professional, and I called my dentist office and had them FAX the referral over so I could be seen for WD evaluation. The dentist never introduced himself and actual 2 minute dentist visit took place, in and out, rushed. The office manager, not X-ray tech had to point out my cracked tooth to dentist!?! Other patients were angry at the wait, one cancelled her appointment because she was told "your next" to been seen and called someone else who had walked in after her. (Same with me) She was so pissed off she cancelled her appointment and asked for a card to report them to the corporate office. This office manager lied to me when I was told "you owe Western Dental money, and won't be seen to have my emergency extraction done unless you pay." I said "how much do I owe?" She said * "IDK"...WTH! I asked for corporate card not only to call about supposedly fee I owed but to REPORT rude, unprofessional office procedures and lies about knowing I owe but don't know the amount. Do not use this corporation full of GREEDY liars. My last appointment was in 2021 with WD and agreed they take out automatically 1 of 2 payments, 1 the day of treatment✓ $75 and the last payment the following month! So WTH? They had my card info?!? GREEDY liars.

Positive experience: The only issue honestly is rhe amount of time it takes to get it done I have to rely on partnership transportation, they really don't like waiting for like 5 hours to pick me back up I have to hear it every time but aside from that it was great experience so far

Negative experience: Front desk staff, and the woman who took my x-rays, were wonderful. This is the only reason I have given 2 stars. On my first appointment, I spent an hour in the waiting room, just to be told that I would only be getting x-rays that day due to the dentist being too busy to do my exam. They said that they would make an appointment for me to get my exam done, so I agreed and went on my way. On my second appointment (That was supposed to be my initial exam) I waited for 50 minutes, just to be told that there was no way that the dentist would be able to get to me that day. I truly don’t understand why they make appointments if they can’t stick to them. It was very frustrating. The very sweet front desk girl tried to make an appointment for me again, but I just asked to have her call me later to figure out an appointment date. I have since decided to try and find another dentist. It is so hard for me to make it to these appointments to begin with, just to be turned away after waiting for an hour. I understand that things happen, but if you can’t accommodate your patients, what’s the point?

Negative experience: This place is just bad all around and i’d avoid it at all costs. Wait time’s actually crazy for having an appt, and then they double book and try to say it will be a short wait, the lies are crazy…THERE’S 1 DR BTW and he’s extremely exhausted looking every time I see him. Negative experience: They blame corporate on the scheduling issues they have while still over booking their one and only dentist. It's sad that they over work him and neglect all there patients. Patients are to come in on time or early to then wait for almost 2 hrs before being seen. If you ask about it they instantly try to get you to reschedule witch puts the patient out again to re due all the waiting. I'm super disappointed in my experiences.

Negative experience: The people are great, but their schedule is completely mismanaged. If your appointment is at 11am, you'll be lucky to be seen before they close. If you need work done you can get it, and the work they do is not bad.

Negative experience: If I could give a quarter of a start I would. How can an office that serves a fairly small area not have any appointments available for over a year? It doesn't matter to them if you can't eat or if you are suffering they don't have anything available until some time in 2026. I would love to tell you about the care they give there but they never have any appointments available. Try again next year, you can figure out how to manage your dental problems until then! I could barely understand the person on the phone and her unwillingness to try to figure out a way to get me much needed help are absolutely unacceptable! This is not a medical (yes dental is medical) that cares at all about their patients!!!!

Negative experience: Walked in with my vested registered service dog was scolded by the little boy behind the counter and told dogs aren’t allowed and then forced to wait hours for a scheduled appt while listening to the waiting room full of people telling their horror stories about their prior visits here… what a absolute joke..

Positive experience: My card scheduled one appointment but thankfully my notifications let me know that it would be an hour earlier so I did show up an hour early. Honestly I waited 59 minutes. I went into the back and I was out of there in 20. So good job! I hear people complain about how long they're waiting often, but realistically I expect to wait and I don't mind waiting too much 3 hours no but 1 no real issue.

Negative experience: Hours long wait just to get my teeth cleaned and then the 1 dentist in the office (happens most of the time) finally cleans them. Not done well or at all thouroughly. Do not go to Western Dental unless you want a 2-3 hour stay with lackluster results, and not at all discounted.

Positive experience: The dentist and assistant were wonderful. Cody was also wonderful. The wait times were a little ridiculous. First time we got there they rescheduled our appt. Second time we waited for 3 hours before being seen and 4 hours before we left. Third time we waited almost 45 mins before being seen. The doctor was very good tho and very general. That was my 8 am appt but didn't see anyone till 8:45. Great once you go in but scheduling sucks.

My husband's dental appointment is now set for a year since he originally set the appointment. He made the appointment in October for March. Now the earliest he can be seen is September. After they did this to me the first time I just scheduled the different dentist. Needless to say we will not be seeing them. As we are not the lottery winners.

Regardless, I wanted to update my experience. I was able to get a same-day appointment at Palo Cedro Family Dentistry, where the front desk staff was kind and helpful, the dental assistant was amazing, and the dentist actually cared about my pain and treatment. The difference in care was night and day. It’s clear that Western Dental does not prioritize patient care, and I highly recommend people look elsewhere if they need real help.

Negative experience: Its always such a long wait time even with an appt. No air conditioning! Everyone in the waiting room is complaining about the wait time. Hopefully they get better about taking care of their patients, my poor mom already paid for her dentures May of last year and she is still going through the process. Sadly sometime the dentist doesn't even show up!

Negative experience: I called in July of 2024 to get an appointment, I was given one mid October. When I arrived they told me it had been canceled. I did not receive a call telling me this. They rescheduled for February 7th 2025. They called today 2/6/25 to tell me it was yet again canceled and July was when they had openings. This along with my wife scheduling my three kids for appointments and arriving to find the office closed. We will not be coming back. Waiting a year to get an appointment with no attempt on their part to fit me in sooner is unacceptable.

Positive experience: The Staff was pleasant, but the organization is awful! This is the second time we've gone there, it's a little over 4 hours driving each way! The first time we went, the dentist had an emergency, so we went away having not been seen. I get that it was an emergency, but why does an office with 15 people waiting to be seen only have 1 dentist? This time the dentist told me they needed prior authorization to remove the four teeth that needed to be pulled. They knew my insurance would need prior authorization. Now I have to wait until next month to be seen again. If your insurance will let you go anywhere else, you might want to take advantage of it.

Apparently people were scheduled to come back in over my appointment And then they let us know that it’s always 2-3 hr max wait time for scheduled appointments. Negative experience: Original review Sept 2023- Slooooowwwww!!!!!! Insanely slow service. Prepare to wait 3 hours minimum to MAYBE see the doctor. Took 3 months to get an appointment. I never got a reminder call. Now they want me to wait for another appointment to get my filling filled. Did i mention they're slow?? Update 1-23-2025 - They are still unbelievably slow. I keep coming here bc they're the only dentist in town that'll take my insurance. They do ok work but I spend 3 hours waiting for a 10 minute cleaning. They also NEVER call to confirm appts and ALWAYS change my appt time or day without letting me know. I call to confirm all appts the week before. I have come here for about 10 appts now and twice I have ad to leave after waiting 2.5 hrs bc they told me it's going to be another hour plus before I get seen (today being one of those times!). I hate this place. I dont know how they have 4 stars.

Negative experience: This place is horrible!! The red head at the front gave us the wrong information and I got braces put on and can’t be seen there for any upkeep like she said we could. The ortho is only there sometimes on Saturday!! Do not go through them for anything!! I spent 5000 for braces, a band came off in one day and they can’t do anything like the RED HEAD said we could!! Do not give false information. It upsets people!!

Negative experience: Almost one hour after my appointment time, I got called back to do my X-rays . Multiple x- rays redo totaling four retakes almost doubling my exposure to radiation from a standard x-ray appointment. Then waited for another 45-50 minutes to be seen. Then waited another 45-50 minutes to get assessment plan to sign before I could get discharged. I was offered to get my cleaning done but would have to wait another 45-50 minutes for Dr to come back from lunch, which I declined and decided to just go home. My appointment was for 11am I didn’t get to leave until 2:30pm and the only thing accomplished during my visit was x-rays with multiple retakes and brief exam of my teeth and gum. I never complained because staff was nice. They were short staffed due to it being Christmas Eve. It was my fault for taking that appointment in the first place. I didn’t want to be grinch on Christmas Eve. Although it was my fault for taking that available spot on Christmas Eve, I was disappointed that nobody cared enough to acknowledge my extremely long wait, everyone just passed the bucket. Three stars for staff nice demeanor, one star for the crappy experience, so two stars overall.

Negative experience: This is the last time I go here. Had appointment for 0800 in Redding. I was Finally seen at 0845 for an xray. Then I was told the doctor won't be in until after 0900. I sat in the chair until 0920, and then walked out. It's the third time I've had to wait, even after having the first appointment for the day. I also note that last time I was told my teeth are in good order. I had a second opinion and found I had 4 cavities, 1 was extreme. Doctors are rough, and in my opinion, their practices and gear are outdated. The ladies at the front desk and the dental nurses are very nice. It's pretty clear they are trying, but to over book and have to constantly wait for a poor service, is just not worth it. My wife waited 2.5hrs some time back, and finally walked out. How in the hell they can continue to run this type of service and survive is beyond me. Do yourself a favor, and go elsewhere. I will be from now on.
Negative experience: I arrived at 9am for my appointment. Was called back to do X-rays and then proceeded to wait another 1 and 1/2 hours to be called back. Waited another 1 1/2 hours for the doctor. Then was told it would be another 1-2 hours before I could get my teeth cleaned. Came back the next morning at 8:30 and was done at 9:45. If I had another choice for in network services I would change in a heartbeat.
Fantastic experience: Today was the first time ever WD really made me smile and feel so good about my plan now that I have a team that listens. Not like when I first came to WD and I needed 4 front teeth,top and 2 bottom back teeth. And they took my whole top out and never got to the bottom. I ended up with denters that didn't work and destroyed my bottom teeth. But today makes me feel better about WD, thank you for your time listening to me.

Negative experience: I waited 3 months for a teeth cleaning. I got multiple emails and texts asking me to confirm my appointment. So, I did confirm. I even got a call from someone letting me know that I had an appointment coming up. Then, after showing up on time for my appointment, they canceled me. And then scheduled me out four more months... That's unacceptable in my view.

Negative experience: the wait is outrageous! the appt time is not an actual appt. You have to wait another 3 or more hours to be seen by the dentist. Then they do t do anything to help you. The set another appt or tell you to go elsewhere. If it is not completely necessary to go there don’t! Find another place that will treat you you for your dental needs!

Negative experience: This is the 3rd time they have moved my appointment months out and they're now trying to schedule me in March which I said is my due date but they won't push it further out, they're just going to make me move it halfway through next year. It's already been over a year since I started making these appointments in the first place and they've just kept cancelling on me. Literally a few days before my appointment. I have a child and am pregnant, it's not easy to schedule for these things and have people to watch my kid, but they decide to cancel less than week before the appointment. It's getting really dumb. And these are the only people that accept partnership. Ive called every single place in Redding recommended to me and was denied or told they aren't accepting new people. If I was having a medical emergency this would be outrageous
Negative experience: Staff is nice but they are terrible scheduling. I was second appointment of the day and did not see doctor for an hour and a half. Just a check up with X-rays took 2:40. 8am-10:40. That’s wrong. It is this way everytime.
Negative experience: Not pleased with this place at all. My “temporary” dentures do not fit at all. They have had to “adjust” them several times and they are still extremely to big for my mouth. Now I am being told that the top denture is supposed to be my permanent one (I will have a new bottom denture because I got the implants), which will not work for my mouth. They had to have done crappy impressions or a horrible place that makes there dentures. They are so big I can barely reach my lips to close and forget it if I wanted to try to fit food in my mouth. Also, I am paying cash, so that cannot use my insurance as an excuse. Bottom line, if they can’t make my teeth where I can use them then I not only will never go to them again but they will also not get their money, almost $10,000.

When I asked how long I had to wait, they told me that it would be about 1-2 hours. I couldn’t wait because my child would have been left outside after school. Negative experience: We drove 3 and a half hours to get fillings and teeth cleaning because rural humboldt doesn’t have any open dental facilities. We get here and the dentist went on vacation without letting us reschedule or letting us know before we got here. So we leave with a “sorry come back in 3 more months” absolutely terrible dentist.

Negative experience: Cody was very helpful in explaining my procedure, and the cost of the work I need to have done. Wait times are atrocious, I can have an appointment at 4, and work won’t begin until 5-5:30. I went there on 10-2-24 with an appointment at 4, and they had to reschedule me for the next day on account of issues they were having. Keep in mind it was already 5:30 and I was waiting in the chair, with bib on, and tools at the ready in my room.

Negative experience: Well, first of all, it’s impossible to get an appointment annd then to be overbooked!!! I wasn’t even able to get done what I needed to get done. I came in to get my teeth cleaned. They’re insisting on taking x-rays and then for me to see the physician. I only got x-rays done now. They had no time for me to see the physician. I waited 2 1/2 hours. I have to make another appointment to see the physician and hopefully able to get my teeth cleaned on the same day. this is absolutely preposterous and A waste of time I’ve been coming here for over 10 years. I’ve never had this issue. I’ve always been treat like VIP I know certain people have left, but I sure wish I would’ve trained better.

Negative experience: Scheduled an appointment 2 months ago. I got a confirmation email and a text regarding my appointment and set up care for my daughter on this day and filled out new patient paperwork. Drove a half an hour to the appointment and when I got there, I was told that it was rescheduled by somebody for five more months from now and that I had a voicemail which I never received. All I wanted was a basic cleaning and treat potential new members like a number And reschedule an appointment apparently that you left on a voicemail that likely wasn’t even mine and you didn’t talk to me But I continue to get confirmation text messages and emails regarding this appointment I find very unprofessional.

Negative experience: First of all i waited 4 months for an appt. I live 2 hrs away from Redding & had to get Partnership transportation to take me which means they also waited to take me home... After our 2 hr drive, I sat in the lobby for 3½ hrs & another 2 hrs in a room before seeing a dentist that didn't say more than hi. She never asked me if I was having any issues with my teeth or anything else! She did a very quick exam & told me the base of an implant was a broken tooth in my gum. I had some questions I was trying to ask as she left the room! I didn't know if I was done or what so I asked the xray girl (who was very nice) if the dentist would be back or what was going on! She went & asked & said they were working on my treatment plan??? I finally just got up & walked out!!! Save yourself a huge headache & go elsewhere! I saw so many people walk out of that office while I was waiting! One guys slammed the door open & turned around & flipped the office off as he was leaving... now I understand why! I will go someplace else!

Negative experience: I had waited a month to have my teeth removed and replaced with a new full denture. Only to get a cancellation notice. I called to ask what happen ? And was told their lab had broke my mold of my teeth and need to re-impression my mouth. The icing on this crap cake was they told me it will take 5 weeks to get my dentures made then. Put me on a list 2 pages long !!! For when they have their oral surgeon (who only come once a month really!!!) So it will now look to be 3 months I'm in pain and can't help I have medical!!!!! This is not alright !!! DO BETTER!!!!
Negative experience: This is the second time I went and had to walk out. This time they said they could not verify my insurance. I had asked the day before to give them information and they said no. The first time was just waiting forever because they over booked. I will never go there again.
Negative experience: Lies and exaggerates conditions to push you to pay out of pocket for treatments insurance doesn't cover. When confronted with it the dentist got annoyed and proceeded to be rough with my cleaning. He stabbed my tongue, cheek, and gums multiple times. Snagged my lip ring multiple times and rushed through it. Just over all was careless and unprofessional.
Negative experience: It was a six month wait before I could get an appointment. When I went in they couldn’t see me and rescheduled me for three months later. When my appointment finally arrived, I waited a total of three hours (I’m currently 38 weeks pregnant) and I was only actually seen for about twenty minutes. Ten minutes in X-rays and ten minutes chatting with the manager. The X Ray room had a bunch of trash that had not been cleaned up by the person previous and the station had not been sanitized. The attendant kept muttering under her breath and was flabbergasted when the receptionist asked her about a time estimate. A nursing mother with a baby had been waiting for two hours at that point (same as me) and she acted like it was so offensive to give the receptionist a time estimate for the mother. Her words were “I’ll be done when I am done” Over all I would say very bad service and experience. Although the manager Cody was very kind, patient and clear. I believe it is very inconsiderate to schedule people for appointments when there isn’t actually capacity to see them. Waiting for three hours (with three children of mine waiting at home for me with a sitter) and not even get a cleaning or any work done, feels very unacceptable.

Sat there for over an hour and no one was called in the whole time I was there and there was people that been there probably a half hour or so longer than me ask him to reschedule talking two months later I'm like forget it I'm so done with Western dental. So unprofessional overbooking and not enough staff to cover. Right now and my opinion they are the worst dentist to go to. Don't care about the condition of their patients. A lot of elderly with health issues mobility issues that cannot just sit there for an hour and an hour and a half and hope to get call to the back just to sit there for another half hour to 45 minutes not acceptable

Negative experience: Took 5 hours to get xrays and see dr for 10 minutes. Worst experience I've ever had. Spent more time with the care coordinator who went over cost of what was needed than anyone else. He is only person who made my visit worth being there. Appointment time was at 10am and wasn't even called back till after 2:30
Negative experience: DO NOT GO HERE!!! first they went to clean my teeth and cracked one of my FRONT TEETH then proceeded to just fill it. When they filled it they put the filling in the root of my tooth. And it’s my FRONT TOOTH. When I went back they questioned me on who did my fillings and denied it was them, pretty much calling me a liar when I haven’t been to a different dentist in YEARS. Second they did another filling on my wisdom tooth and didn’t get all the decay and put the filling in and it rotted my tooth and I have to pay $500 to have it removed!!! Most aweful dentist in Redding. Do not trust them for yourself, your children, let alone anyone. They should be closed down. If you care about your teeth do not go here. Go to Greenville Rancheria in red bluff. Or western dental will mess up your teeth like they did to mine.
Negative experience: I was very disappointed that I drove 60 miles and had to wait over 2 hours for only a 10 min consultation of which I left before the consultation because I could not wait any longer I had to get home to my 88 yr old mother. No stars for ya’s
Negative experience: 1. Incompetent Call Center Service: The decision to outsource the appointment scheduling call center to the Philippines or another low-cost region has resulted in a significant communication barrier. I spent an extended amount of time attempting to schedule an appointment for my mother, only to encounter representatives who struggled to understand that I was seeking a location near our home in Redding, not one four hours away. This led to a frustrating and inefficient process that wasted valuable time. 2. Closed Office During Scheduled Appointment: After finally securing an appointment, I went to great lengths to transport my mother in her wheelchair to your Redding office, only to find the office was inexplicably closed. The disregard for your patients' time and effort was evident as other patients also arrived to discover the same problem. When I returned the following day to address this, the staff showed little concern or urgency, and I was told that the next available appointment would be months away, despite my mother suffering from a broken tooth. 3. Insurance Verification Issues: The final and most unacceptable experience occurred yesterday. After another difficult process of getting my mother to her appointment, we were informed after a 20-minute wait in the lobby that her appointment could not proceed because your team was unable to verify insurance on weekends. The irony of your staff scheduling an appointment on a Saturday when your systems are not functional is astonishing and unprofessional. How in the world can computer systems not verify something because it is a weekend? Their computers have banker's hours and weekends off? The place is a pathetic preview of what socialistic medicine will bring all of America.

No courtesy phone call to let me know they were closed. Could have saved me my time, gas & money..what business allows that to happen? No communication what so ever. The fact that you have to go through a third party to even talk and schedule with them is crazy. I even got an automated text message asking me to confirm the appointment (that I already confirmed days prior) the day of. I have not heard from anyone from Western Dental apologizing or calling to reschedule the appt I've been waiting for. Went to another dentist near the area to see what was up & they even heard horror stories from this place. Do not recommend. Will keep you on hold for 15 mins before you get hung up on. They wasted my time & money. You cannot get a hold of the office. This is ridiculous & I'm very livid about the situation. they do not care about their clients time, money or health situation. In and out of the hospital for dental issues (life threatening) & I cannot even get an appointment to get X-rays done. Even the sign on the door is confusing. What does the note even mean? What does call us at 4/23 mean? April was two months ago. It's like this happens often & they forgot to change the date. Cannot believe a business would allow any of this to happen. *Had to add this note, as of July 31, over a month after this, I still have not gotten a call apologizing or trying to reschedule my appointment. Very unprofessional. Don't believe the good reviews. If they cared about their patients they would never allow this to happen.
Positive experience: They welcomed me and made me feel comfortable and safe. They worked with and heard out all my problems areas. They worked with my on my budget and ma y different options. Great experience Staff was nice but they took a while to get people back into their appointment time.

Negative experience: They had a corporate overhaul or something. It's not for the better. Average wait time the last two times I've been had been more than 2 hours. Last time had a wait of over 4. You pay in time what you save via insurance. They pull people back in seemingly random order. Two 8 am pulls, one 9, (since it's 9 now, then one 8:30, then a 9, then an 8:30, then a 10, cause it's 10 now). Maybe it has to do with what they need done. But it's not a great system. They also won't call to tell you if they're running late, and you can't call ahead to ask that either. Must be present to check wait in time. While I've no overall complaint with work, I don't know good from bad as far as cleanings go. They seemed to only take 5 minutes for scraping and cleaning. Does that mean I clean well or they don't -. It's very frustrating. Not worth it. I'm more inclined to go to Shasta college and their training dentistry. Same price and actually less time. It's clearly time for me to switch

Negative experience: If I could would definitely give 0 Star! Wasted time getting the run around from Western Dental! Called us to cancel and reschedule iur sons appointment twice now.. First time said have a Corporate meeting and rescheduled for today October 30th .. got a call @8:30am saying under staffed and have to reschedule again to October 3rd! Very disappointing and tired of the run around. Management please take notes and make the necessary changes before you lose more business and the doors close on you.. People do have choices...

Fantastic experience: The office ladies and the staff are so kind here! They’re busy but don’t make you feel rushed. I appreciate the information they give and ask what you’d like to do not making you feel pressured or trying to charge you and your insurance for unnecessary dental work! Negative experience: My husband had to leave at 3am to be in Redding by 8 a for bis appoinment. They made him wait over three hours before doing Xrays. They did not even examine his mouth! 3 hours waiting and 2.45 drive there and 2.45 back again. Western Dental knows you are desperate for services you will suffer their negligence, and long wait times for care. Third world dental. I called the office to have some chick tell me that I had no right talking to her this way after ..what way? Speaking facts? Telling th truth? I asked her name and she hung up on me. FACTS OVER RIDE FEELINGS!! How do you think my husband feels as a patient being treated this way? BUT this little girl, is concerend about her feelings being scolded for lack of patient care? HORRID!! I would like to know where Redding Western Dental got their licenses to practice dental from? A CRACKER JACK BOX?? Update: Do not believe the responses from Western Dental to others who had bad ecperiences and apologizing, wanti g to make it right, THEY ARE LIARS! Instead of making it right and apologizing to .y husband, they sent him a letter, dropping him from any further services. Stay Away from this So called Dental Practice.
Fantastic experience: I haven't had any issues other than when you have an appointment make sure you don't have any thing else that day because you could be there all day. The issues they are faced with is they most likely have to many patients and not enough staff. If you see a notice up of a closed business could mean that staff may have come down with covid or maybe there could be a death in the family, communication is very important, so there's always room for improvement.

Negative experience: Id give 0 stars if i could. I spent 6 & 1/2 hours here just for them to tell me "did you see an emergency dentist?" And sent me away to go somewhere else.. When I scheduled the appointment they got me an "emergency next day appointment" after telling the customer service rep what was going on.. I show up and wait 3 hours before asking what's going on? The lady said my x-rays show in progress.. okay im clearly standing right in front of you so that's not possible. She said she fixed it and I'd be next. I waited an additional hour and a half for x-rays. Once I was in the back waiting for the dentist that took another 2 hours. Just to be told there's nothing they can do for me. Why advertise this as an emergency appointment!? I waisted a full day here when I could have gone somewhere else and had it taken care of.

Negative experience: After spending a few mornings and afternoons waiting to be served in this place and witnessing the disrespect shown to patients, I can't believe anyone would give 5 stars for that service. For them to deserve even 1 star, they need to improve a lot. You have to wait at least 3 hours to be seen there. I waited 4 and a half hours, and when the dentist finally sees you (there are at most two dentists working there), the service is so superficial and poorly done that you can't believe you spent so long waiting for that. I am never coming back and would highly recommend anyone to stay away from this place.
Negative experience: Had an appointment at 9:45am, it took them 3 hours to even get me in for xrays. After, all the exam rooms were full so I was sent back to the lobby to wait an additional 2 hours to get me in an exam room. Absolutely ridiculous wait time.
Negative experience: AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE, THE POSITIVE REVIEWS ARE FAKE. During your very first visit, they ask you to rate this place prior to having any services beyond a screening, rendered. When I went in for my original screening, the assistant was great, but that's the only praise I have for this clinic. My screening showed that I needed fillings and a cleaning, so I paid the deposit and set a date for 3 months in advance. Upon the date of my appointment, I was informed that I couldn't have it because "they didn't have proper insurance on record" despite me, the day after my screening, sent an email UPON REUQEST with my insurance info and even went in the following Monday to try and hand it in, in person because I was told that they are slow with replies. Trish or whatever her name assured me, "You submitted it via email, we'll get to it". But they didn't! And because of their ineptitude, I had to reschedule my appointment AGAIN. It gets better! They made me come in on 2 separate occasions for my cleaning because "We can't do both sides in one day", but this has been the ONLY dentist office I've experienced this at. ON TOP OF ALL OF THAT, I just got my teeth filled and now I can't chew on one side of my mouth because the dentist botched the filling. These people shouldn't have a job here, let alone a license to operate.

Negative experience: New patients go somewhere else they do not value or have common courtesy for their customers. They are ran by a big corporate and your only a number. I waited 5 months for this appointment and had to correlate with my optometrist to even have my bracket removed prior and had to schedule to have it put back on and when I arrive I see a computer paper that says that they are closed. I never received a call besides the call to confirm my appt to even let me know. Multiple people showed up after to me thinking they had a appt as well. I then call the following day and they say oh sorry we didn’t get to everyone and if you want a appt we will need to reschedule you in Oct which is another 4 months out. Go somewhere else unless you want to receive inconsiderate service. They do not care.

Negative experience: Took mom there for her appt . Was there for 5 hrs and they only did xrays and had her wait in the lobby. There was several people there that had been waiting for hours also. Many people started walking out complaining. The worst dental visit we have ever had. And then they decide to close for lunch and not tell anyone. 1 person ended up coming out saying no one was there. Then more people ended up Leaving. This isn't how you treat people
