Fantastic experience: Have been going to Dental One for 25+ years. Dr Val , my dentist, takes time to explain what work needs to be done and is always available. See Dr. Khleif for periodontal work. Very pleased with the service and treatment. Had a new hygienist this time, Courtney who was fantastic. The girls who works the checkout are extremely friendly and helpful as well. All in all I am extremely pleased with all the staff who work very hard to make things as pleasant as possible.

Negative experience: They cancelled my appointment with no notice even after I confirmed it. The women I spoke to said it was because I didn't complete a registration form 48 hours before the appointment, which is fine if that's their policy. However, I wasn't informed about this beforehand and this conversation took place Tuesdays morning and my appointment was Friday morning, which means apparently I should have still had a day to complete the form. Very inconsiderate and poorly handled on their part, would not recommend scheduling with this office if you are a new patient.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Thomas was very professional, knowledgeable and genuinely interested in my concerns and other things. She addressed every single issue I had about my Orthodontic issues I’ve experienced these last several months without an orthodontist through no fault of mine. (Numerous turnovers of Orthodontist at Oxon Hill & Steeplechase.) For the first time in what feels like decades since I started my braces nightmare I feel I can relax and breathe. Thank you Dr. Thomas!!!

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience at this facility from getting dental work done by Jennifer the Hygienist who is very professional, accommodating and supportive encouraging me ti ask questions. Front desk staff is very friendly and helpful and the facility is very clean

Negative experience: The completely botched my estimate and charged me hundreds of Dollars after the operation was completed, taking no responsibility for the oversight or acknowledging the billing change until I was literally walking out the door.

Positive experience: As service providers, they are excellent. But they don’t always think about their patients finances. If you quote a price for a test, make sure to say that the person who provides the test results is separate and may ALSO charge. The service could be TWICE as much. Now you may get a surprise bill. No one likes that. Medical Insurance in America is medieval. I wish we lived in a civilized country like Canada.

Fantastic experience: Upfront, I hate the dentist. A big fear. However, Dental One somehow made my experience less stressful. Both the dentist and technicians were sympathetic with my life long fears. They were thorough and explained what they were doing along the way so no surprises. I still hate doing the x-rays because I have a quick gag reflex. But they were very skilled and quick get the pictures that it didn't trigger it. The only complaint would be I had to make two different appointments to see the dentist and get a cleaning.

Positive experience: Very mixed experience. I went in as a new customer and it had been YEARS (decades) since my last time to a dentist. I was first brought back for x-rays and the person seemed very disorganized and when taking the xrays, hurt my mouth with the items I had to bite on. When the Dr came to do an evaluation, they stood behind me examining said xrays for several minutes before introducing themselves, did their exam, and then was fairly cold when advising I needed to go to an oral surgeon for wisdom teeth removal. Up to that point, I felt very clinically cold and I was already telling myself that I might not go back after my wisdom teeth removal. But then I went and had my cleaning and the woman was amazing and so friendly and nice and didn't make me feel horrible for not going in so long. She was wonderful. So, how do I review this? Half my time spent there was uncomfortable and the other half was a great experience.

Fantastic experience: I finally found my forever dentist - Dr. Val at Dental One Annapolis. I'm 80 so it took me a looong time! I didn't grow up w/ fluoride, floss, or water pics. As a result, my dentition is an ugly mess. Dr. Val is helping me smile again. Hey, I might have a decade left; so why not smile again. Plus, whenever there's a real problem, she thoughtfully proposes solutions and at the same time, estimates the cost. No surprises. I adore her. Thank you Dr. Val!!

Negative experience: This is my second time visiting Dental One Associates in Annapolis. Both visits were years apart and were each for a root canal. I was there 11/6/25 for a root canal with Jessie Dixon, DDS. He was FANTASTIC and I would certainly use HIM again. After initially visiting him on 10/16/25 for an initial evaluation, it was determined that I needed a root canal. They used a special type of Cone Beam CT scan that cost me out of pocket $275. I knew this, although I think it was an “add-on” for more money. That day, I paid $475 by credit card, which included $99 towards the actual root canal cost. I went back on 11/6/25 for the actual procedure, which went flawlessly. I went to check out, and my fee was $652.00. Again, I paid by credit card. That totals $1,127 in out-of-pocket expenses. Adding that my dental insurance paid fees as well, this is a nearly $2,000 procedure. Even though the contracted amount for the pulp vitality test was $80.80 and not $101.00, they are charging me full price instead of the contracted amount. Pure Greed! On my treatment plan provided by Dental One, the pulp vitality test was listed as being zero due from me. On 11/7/25, I checked my bank account and now saw that they charged me an additional 3% credit card fee both times. This is another $33.81 added to my bill unexpectedly. I had the same cashier/checkout lady both times, and not once did she mention the fee. Otherwise, I would have brought cash, used a debit card, or written a check to save the extra fees, as I am on a limited income. So, my wife called Dental One, and a snippy lady on the other end said that the checkout lady should have told me, and that they had signs posted (I didn’t see any), and I certainly was not told by the cashier that I would be charged an additional fee for credit card use. It was also not posted on either of my checkout receipts from either visit. I believe this place is gouging unsuspecting patients. The reason I say this is because before my root canal started, another regular dentist came in and said, since I didn’t have a regular dentist that I saw, she had an opening so I could get a crown on my tooth after my root canal. I said I do see a dentist every six months and have done so for years. She asked if I had a referral, and I said yes, but not for this office; it was for another endodontist. I told her I came back here because of the positive experience with the first root canal doctor. It then clicked to her. To me, it seems like they were trying to get more money out of me, knowing my insurance benefits were drained for this calendar year, as I only get $1,000/year. This clearly exceeded that! Later in the procedure, someone came and told me I didn’t have a regular medical doctor that I see. I have seen my regular doctor every three months for many years, so I felt as if they were now trying to refer me to a medical doctor for more money. I just know that I likely overpaid again and will figure this out when yesterday’s explanation of benefits is available. Not looking forward to that headache again. Before scheduling this procedure, Cigna Dental online, my insurance carrier, indicated that my total cost for the root canal would be $866, and I would pay out of pocket approximately $167. As you can see, that’s way off. Even if I added the additional $275 Cone Beam scan, my total out of pocket would be $442. Somewhere, there is a $685 disconnect in addition to the 3% credit card fees they charged. I, for one, will never go back here as they seem to want to bleed you dry by tacking on extras, soliciting regular dental work that is unnecessary, and potentially medical doctors, who knows? Just be smart and analyze your explanation of benefits from your insurance company and match it to what they submit. Maybe just once, it’s an error, but this is twice for me, which leads me to believe it’s a pattern until someone gets caught.

Negative experience: Deceiving. They do not get pre-authorizations even when you ask. They just do the xrays, and excessive pictures etc. Next thing you know a bill for $300.00 shows up in the mail.

Fantastic experience: I have been using this practice for years and think the best of Dr. Val ‘s service and her personality. I am from that generation where dentist were not as kind and caring, so just overcoming the panic I have when going to a dentist is a win.

Fantastic experience: As a new patient, I felt genuinely welcomed and heard. Dr. Everett addressed my concerns thoroughly and explained the next steps clearly, which made me feel confident in the care I received. Her dental assistant (I’m sorry I can’t recall her name) was very friendly, creating a warm and professional atmosphere. There was a slight delay at the checkout window (no one was there) but overall, it was a pleasant and reassuring visit.

Negative experience: Just not happy with way whoever's doing billing. For the last 3 years it's always been some confusion on fees I'm billed especially associated with my Invisalign. Everytime I come in there is a new bill. There always added fees that I'm unaware of. I waited hour on my last visit to get some clarity for billing secretary before I left for another engagement. No one has yet called me to explain where I go from here with my Invisalign. I'm on my 3rd Dr in 2 years. Not feeling secure on the handling of my Invisalign. Have less than 3 t4 trays to go but the following trays don't fit properly. I'm still left in limbo. Waiting to find out where I go from here. Very unprofessional.Not happy with the way this is being handled..

Negative experience: I first went to your Annapolis office in June 2025 with a discounted dental plan as well as sharing my member number with the intake person. It was incorrectly added as a dental plan. Thus creating different fees for my portion of a treatment plan. This was not my error as I feel as though it should have been done correctly the first time The fees did not match up, as there is a difference between a dental plan and a discounted dental plan. I started on this path with your folks because I liked the staff and office, I was given a $500 credit for the error as I am thankful, though I feel more can be done. I can’t go anywhere else at this point Thank you, Toothless patient.

Positive experience: My husband has been going here for years and I'm a new patient to this Dentist. I have visit them twice so far. Everything went well except lack of communication when I was not notified that my appointment time was changed and including the person (Valerie V.) who was handling my teeth that day. All I received was a text for me to confirm various appointment times. Valerie was very awesome as well as the side chair assistant and they both get 5 stars. I am hoping my review is a wake up call that communication is very important to the patients that seek dentistry care from this facility. I would also like to change this 3 star to a 5 star in the future.

Negative experience: Ive spent my entire ortho journey with Dental One, Ive been to 3 locations (not by choice) and I have not had professional service since the start of my journey. My expectation for medical/dental service providers is high because I personally feel that, when someones life is in your hands you should not do it if you dont have a passion for that field of work. No one is perfect but kind, considerate and able to communicate professionally is what I desire and require, unfortunately you cannot switch providers mid treatment without it affecting the financial aspect so I have stayed and hope to end my treatment without any additional disappointment.

Negative experience: I am giving this location a 1 star because of the receptionist. Her tone was condescending when I tried to confirm the instructions back to her so that I could properly relay the instructions to the other dental office. She squinted at me and said, "They know what to do." Her attitude was very nasty. Also, the fact that she gave me the run around and a hard time put a bad taste in my mouth. Based on the interaction that I had with her, I wouldn't return to this office. I went to get dental x-rays on September 30th. Everyone that I encountered that day (the receptionist, dental assistant and dentist) was friendly, professional and efficient. However, on October 6th around 9:00am, I had an appointment for my follow-up cleaning. There was a different receptionist that I encountered. She was very rude. She refused to check me in due to me passing the grace period by 2 minutes. I had to call a different dentist and was lucky to get an appointment. I had came back into the office to speak to the same receptionist (she was the only one working) about retrieving my dental records. She refused to provide me my dental records. She told me to have the other dental office call her office to get the dental records. I knew that I could retrieve my records if I provided proof of self. I had to drive to the other dental office to have them help me with retrieving my dental records. I would never return to this office. I don't recommend places that display poor customer service, even from one staff member. One staff member can ruin it for everyone.

Fantastic experience: As I indicated in an earlier posting, I have experienced nothing but caring and professional dental care at Dental One. Dr. Val and her support team rock as my unexpected broken front tooth was fitted with a temporary crown in a most efficient manner. As an addendum to the above post, the permanent crown was set flawlessly. Thanks again.

Positive experience: Service and professionalism were great. I do wish that they had told me that one of the procedures they were doing was extra money out my pocket.

Fantastic experience: Excellent experience prepping up for two crowns. One is in place, the next one is on its way. In a very short time, Dr. Everett (hope spelling is correct) and her assistant, Marlene have become very familiar with every space in my mouth. And they have done a great job making sure I'm happy with whatever they do in there - thanks. Next is Elli, Dr Katie's assistant. This perfectionist spent meticulous time, very late in the day resetting the two temporary crowns which had come off. Thanks Elli, and thanks to the staff who were able to get me a quick appointment. Then there's Lacy (spelling!) who covered for Marlene during my last visit - she seems to be always happy. Lacy teamed up with fearless Natalie (she is creative) to get me ready for my next crown. I have had the opportunity to be handled by these individuals and I'm quite happy with the outcome.

Negative experience: My appointment was at 2:00pm as a new patient. I checked in between 1:50pm - 1:55pm. I sat in the waiting room until 2:45pm and walked up to reception to let her know nobody came to get me. She walked in the back for about 5-7 minutes and came back and gave me a thumbs up. I sat back down in the waiting room until 2:57pm and finally just left. Having to use time from work for an appointment that never happened is very disappointing and unprofessional.

Fantastic experience: That was the best medical experience I've ever had. The technician was very kind and understanding during the somewhat painful X rays and she was extremely patient. Dr. Benson was just amazing. Kind, understanding and extremely knowledgeable (and patient) of all my questions. And gave an awesome recommendation for pediatric care. And the staff were incredibly kind and made me and my daughter very comfortable. One hundred percent recommend.
