Fantastic experience: Fort Dental has truly erased my fear of going to the dentist. They are gentle and caring. They don't try to push procedures or products. They provide options, but are honest about things that aren't urgent.

Fantastic experience: I can say with utmost certainty that Fort Dental is the best dental clinic in the DFW area, if not in the state of Texas: very experienced and wonderful dentists, and amazing staff and assistants. My wife, children, and I have been seeing Dr. Cheng for twenty years, and he has never let us down. Dr. Cheng is an honest and truthful dentist; his decisions are made in the patient's interest, not his own. I personally have never decided on the best course of treatment when it comes to my family, and I let Dr. Cheng make his decisions because we have full confidence in his medical judgment. Dr. Cheng works miracles: twenty years ago, four other dentists decided that they could do nothing about my wife's teeth after examination. While Dr. Cheng was working on my teeth, I asked him if he could do something about my wife's teeth; at that time, he had never seen my wife before. After he examined her teeth, he said, "Oh, I can fix her full mouth." Honestly, I had my doubts, but by the time he was done working on her teeth, it was nothing but a master piece. Since then, my wife has never had any complaints about her teeth, and her teeth look so beautiful. Finally, I must mention the staff and assistants, who are so gracious and helpful, and friendly.

Fantastic experience: Hi, I got on here to say these people took great care of me yesterday morning. My company is going through a buyout at the moment we just lost all of our benefits and we all have been avoiding the offices where we need insurance. But I had an abscess on my front tooth, yea I know perfect timing but anyway I went in I explained the situation and they still saw me , didn’t treat me any differently and actually got me in and out pretty quick on top of it. Everyone was super nice and I just so happen to go on the best day because everybody was dressed in there Harry Potter gear, so cool. But yes please go visit , it’s clean , friendly staff and like I said I was maybe there 45 minutes thank you guys so much. It was much appreciated

Yes, that is correct - he is so upbeat that you don’t realize you are at the dentist which no one enjoys. He has the latest tech tools, a friend office staff and they are all beyond competent. Best dentist in FTW and possibly the US.

He is great at what he does and also a great person. The staff are wonderful and kind and efficient. The group always invests in technology and equipment for the best patient outcome and their facility has the best view, again investing with patients' comfort and pleasure in mind. I loved the ability to make all my arrangements via text messaging. And I was in and out for a new patient exam, X-rays, and full cleaning in right at an hour. No wait. Also, got great guidance on dental issues that I had not gotten at my previous dental practice I was using previously. Also, lots of great information on additional services I can get, but no pressure at all.

Really talked me through my options and helped me feel at ease. She is very compassionate and great at her job. I would love to remain a patient there permanently but unfortunately they aren't in network with my dental insurance but I recommend this office to anyone. Wonderful experience for a trip to the dentist.

Fantastic experience: I'm not one to write reviews but I absolutely have to give credit where credit is due. Visiting this practice has been the best dental experience I have ever had!! From the moment I walked in, I was treated with care by the front desk staff. Went in, my dental hygienist took x rays and I was explained everything in detail by Dr. Luk. We set up a treatment plan and within a short time frame I was able to get all my work that I needed done. I cannot speak more highly of Dr. Luk! The way he explains what he's doing step by step while he's working on your teeth is unmatched. Once everything was complete, he provided visuals and explained what it was that was fixed. Out of this world really! Not once did I feel rushed and he took the time to patiently answer each and every one of my questions. I've always wanted to find a dentist's office that I would look forward coming back to every 6 months and I can finally say this is the one! P.S. The dental exam rooms are wonderful! When you walk in, you quickly notice the nearly wall to wall window that lets you see out to the forest/creek that is situated behind the building. So much wildlife is attracted to the area. Within a few visits, I've been able to spot all kinds of birds (hummingbirds even), squirrels and more. Having a view like that before starting any work/cleaning that you need done helps relieve dental anxiety almost instantly!

Fantastic experience: This was the best dental experience I have ever had. I am extremely anxious and have sensitive teeth, and this team was accommodating and considerate, throughout the entire appointment. The exam rooms have floor to ceiling windows with bird feeders outside and a TV that shows live cameras from all over the world, giving the office a calming feel. Dr. Cox was very knowledgeable, and she educated about everything she saw from my exam and made me feel informed about treatment decisions. I could not recommend this dental office enough.

The reception area and waiting area were immaculate. The personnel were all extremely kind and polite and Kayla was one of the most gentle hygienist. I’ve had work on my teeth. It will be my pleasure to return to Fort Dental within the next year for another follow up.

Fantastic experience: Update 8/14/25: All I have written before continues to be true. This is an outstanding practice in every way. The staff is all friendly and helpful. Dawn is an excellent, detail- oriented hygienist, who gets your teeth feeling really clean and good. Johnny is a great,, attentive, skillful dentist, who works within the parameters of your insurance, and never tries to upsell you on stuff you don’t need. Their technology Is state of the art. Our whole family goes here and gets top notch dental care. Highly recommended. Update 11/30/23: Hygienist Dawn is always super-friendly and congenial, and does an outstanding, detailed job of cleaning my teeth. Johnny remains a careful, conservative dentist, always looking to save you money even if you have pretty good dental insurance. Their staff is always friendly, helpful, and comptetent. A great dental practice in every way. Update 11/9/22: All below remains true, plus now they have a new, beautiful, sleek and modern dental clinic on Bryant Irvin, with state of the art equipment and technology. The treatment rooms have 12 ft. floor to ceiling windows that look out onto a densely wooded area near the river. Staff as always is friendly and helpful, and Johnny a super dentist, highly competent, concerned, and affable. Dawn is a great hygienist, thorough and detailed, who gets your teeth really clean and feeling great. Johnny Cheng is an excellent dentist, friendly and caring, and he has a wonderful staff who is helpful and competent. He is conservative in his approach, and has integrity in that he does not try to sell you on procedures that you don't need, like some dentists do to pad their profits. He stands behind his work, and explains everything very clearly. They have excellent technology and all the work I have had done there: crowns, cavities, exams, cleanings, has been first rate. Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Cheng is putting in a new bridge for me, because I managed to break the one he made for me a few years ago. He is always great at administering numbing meds. He removed the broken bridge and prepared my mouth for the temporary bridge. The permanent one will be put on in 3 weeks. Dr. Cheng has great assistants and hygienists. The office staff is cheerful and friendly. The office is immaculate and I really appreciate the amenities of watching Armchair Traveler on the overhead TV or watching the birds and squirrels out the window with a wooded area behind and feeding areas in the foreground. The entertainment makes time in the chair fly by.

Fantastic experience: The only dentist I’ve been to who can do my fillings completely without pain. I have a phobia of needles so having them in my mouth is a nightmare, but these guys managed to give me about 9 fillings over the course of 4 visits and none of them were painful or stressful at all. I flew cross-country just to have them x-ray my teeth because I didn’t trust anyone else in my new city. State of the art machines, I saw a 3D printer doing its thing on this last visit, very friendly staff, won’t fuss at you for slacking on flossing like some dentists I’ve been to. I’d give 6 stars if I could.

Fantastic experience: I was looking for a new dental practice as my longtime dentist had retired. On recommendation I decided to give Fort Dental a try. I was very pleased with my care there. From the reception area to check out my experience was positive. Jill was my hygienist, she was very personable and she did a very thorough job of cleaning my teeth. Dr. Luk did my exam. I appreciated his chair side manner. He is kind, caring and explained my dental health very thoroughly. He doesn’t push anything but gives you the facts so that you can make educated decisions. I learned some things I had not known before. Even the check out staff were friendly and wanted to be sure I had a good experience. I believe I’ve found my new office.

Fantastic experience: I have been a patient of this practice started by Dr Stovall since around 1976. When Dr Stovall retired, Dr Cheng became my dentist. The staff is amazing! Where do they find such competent and truly nice people? Every visit is a pleasure even accounting for the fact that people typically don’t look forward to the dentist’s chair. Dr Cheng is not only a fine dentist, he cares about the cost to the patient. I am in my 80’s and don’t want to spend more than necessary on my teeth. Dr Cheng sets priorities and only does what is necessary for me and my situation. I am so appreciative that this dental office is available to me.

Fantastic experience: I was very hesitant to proceed with Invisalign and later Veneers. After careful consideration and the continued care and insight from Dr. Thorburn and his staff - I could not be happier with my decision to proceed with a great smile and better dental care. Fantastic experience: I started as a patient with Dr. Thorburn when a crown came off, breaking my tooth and requiring an extraction. He has been thorough, kind, and made himself available (even by text!) throughout the process—he’s clearly a great dentist. What’s more than that, the office is run extremely efficiently, which can be a rarity in medicine today. Each member of staff, from the receptionists to the hygienists, have been equally kind, attentive, and easy to communicate with. There are plenty of qualified dentists out there, but the ease of working with Fort Dental is what makes the practice extraordinary. As a side note, his wife, who is a pediatric dentist with a practice next door, is just as impressive. I’d give 10 stars to them both if I could.
