Fantastic experience: I was referred to Winter Park Family Dentistry from the Lake Nona VA dental office and I am so glad they did. I had my initial appt and everyone there are super friendly. I am in a wheelchair and the place is really easy and accessible to enter from the parking lot and in the office. I was very happy to find out that I will be able to get dental implants as the Lake Nona dental office wasn't sure due to thier lack of not having a 3d x-ray machine. I can't wait to start this new journey to a new great smile that Ive wanted since I was a teenager. After talking to Dr. Resnik I am very confident that he will do just that.

Fantastic experience: The Hygienist, Dr. Resnick, and his assistant gave me an all encompassing cleaning of my teeth and went above and beyond when I complained of a tooth that had been not properly cleared which caused my teeth to not close properly: this improper alignment was caused by a different doctor, but Dr Resnick and staff helped to fix it. This is a professionally run dental clinic. Meticulous!

Fantastic experience: So this is an update to my initial review, which was wonderful. Dr Matar and his staff are the most genuine, caring and empathetic human beings I have ever met in the medical field. I would drive two hours to go to the dentist just for this level of care alone. This is not fake nor is it trained in the Staff or Dr Matar. They are truly genuine, good people and an excellent dentist as a sidenote. My very healthy dog had to be admitted to the emergency room for numerous reasons, Dr Matar and his staff quickly rescheduled my appointment without blinking an eye. When I attended the rescheduled appointment a day after I had had to say goodbye to my best buddy. This is the hardest thing that I’ve had to go through and was not in a good place. The Staff and Dr Matar were so caring that he allowed me to spend some quiet time with his dog that he brings to the office who is the sweetest girl. I cannot tell you how much this meant in a time where I was hurting. So it made that hour car ride a little less heavy I wanna say thank you to them for their kindness.

The entire staff was incredibly courteous and welcoming, making what could have been a stressful appointment surprisingly enjoyable. They were all so fun and personable, which really put me at ease. Fantastic experience: Second time being referred to WP Fam Dentistry through the VA. This time for an extraction. Mind you my last extractions were in 1980 for my wisdom teeth as a private at Ft. Riley, KS. Was informed that the numbing agents are better now than they were 45 years ago. Great! Spoke with Dr. Valle prior to procedure and explained what my issue was and why I chose extraction. So my mouth is numb and Dr. Valle comes back in. I'm in the dentist chair with eye covers on (I dread needles/can't look) and a death grip on the chair as he informs me there would be some pressure. 1980 comes flashing back. He starts back and forth three, four, five times with what I would say is medium pressure and stops. I'm thinking he's catching his second wind. Meanwhile, I'm gripping the chair again awaiting Round 2. He then tells me, "You can let go now." I ask him why? "We're done; it's out." I was like, no way! I couldn't believe it. I was in disbelief remembering the tug of war of 45 years earlier. My mouth healed in less than a week. Dr. Valle, thank you and your excellent staff for an awesome experience. I’ve had to get four implants and I have not had any problems with them yet. Their work is impeccable. I can’t tell the difference between the implants and my natural teeth. I heard stories about them, hurting your mouth and other major problems. I have not experienced that. I’ve been going to them for over a year and now I am finished. My teeth look great and I’m not embarrassed to smile anymore. It’s also a wonderful feeling to be able to easily eat what I want, and not worry about breaking or damaging my partial. Thank you!

The care and treatment has Always been top notch, and today’s visit was again especially exceptional. I return in 3 weeks to get the crown that’s attached to the implant post. I almost want another implant to keep visiting the folks who work here! Please consider putting a priority on taking care of your teeth, and don’t fear recommended treatments. And then a follow up first thing Sunday morning with an appt at 8am Monday morning! They made a horrible situation so much better - beyond impressed!

My last appointment was to have my retainer and night guard replaced after using the previous one many years, the fit and comfort of the new hardware was comfortable immediately and no adjustments needed. Also, to have a dental office sending text messages on weekends and being adaptable to your schedule… the best in class. Negative experience: I recently had a tooth extraction at Winter Park Family Dentistry and Prosthodontics, and unfortunately, my experience has been far from satisfactory. A month after the extraction, I continued to experience persistent pain, and then noticed something sharp protruding from my gum. On February 18, I contacted the office and was able to get an immediate appointment, but that's when things began to take a turn for the worse. My concerns actually began earlier, when the VA identified a failed root canal and referred me to an outside dentist through Community Care. The first visit with the outside dentist was uncomfortable, as the dentist was a bit rough. I initially thought it was due to a stubborn tooth, but the pain persisted and worsened to the point where it became more noticeable than my usual migraines. As someone who lives with chronic pain due to military accidents, I am accustomed to discomfort, so I didn’t initially think much of the pain after the extraction. However, the pain and the sharp object sticking out of my gum (possiblya bone), which was cutting my tongue, became intolerable. I decided to reach out to Winter Park Family Dentistry again, hoping for a resolution. When I arrived for my appointment, I was taken aback by the disorganization in the procedure area. They seemed to struggle gathering the necessary tools. Once the dentist came in, his approach was aggressive. He immediately jabbed a needle into my mouth, administering numbing medication while moving the needle around roughly. It was clear that a topical numbing agent could have been used before inserting the needle, but this was not the case. The procedure was repeated three times. After waiting five minutes, the dentist proceeded to work without clearly explaining what he intended to do. During the procedure, he squeezed my lip against my teeth, which caused me significant discomfort. When I expressed that it hurt, he dismissed my concerns and told me, “You’re going to have to deal with it.” When I tried to adjust my lip to relieve the pressure, he scolded me, saying not to touch it because of the blood. He then aggressively yanked and filed at what I assume was the bone with such force that it was painful. When he finished and removed the tools, it hit my front teeth and he didn’t even offer an apology. Despite still being numb from the medication, I could feel pain. Rather than escalate the situation, I waited until the procedure was finished and then calmly voiced my concerns about his attitude and the treatment I had received. I am planning to report this experience to the VA and share it with my community and friends. I’m unsure of the dentist’s reasoning for such poor treatment, but I won’t condone how I was treated during the visit.
