Fantastic experience: Very fast check in and no wait time upon arrival at the office. Modern office equipment including hand-held x-ray equipment and 3D imaging of my teeth. Charmaine was an excellent dental assistant letting me know what she was doing at all times and gave me an in-depth review of my X-rays and imaging. Dr. Mike was very personable and provided a thorough exam. He answered all my questions without hesitation.

Fantastic experience: I have been seeing the Team at Atencio for a few years and have now brought my 83 year old mom to the practice since she has been in my care. You will be hard pressed to find a more compassionate, kind and professional dental practice in the Reno/Sparks valley. I have lived in a few states as a military family and now settled as permanent NV residence. The office is immaculate and their equipment is state of the art in technologies. My mom is soon to take delivery on a set of dentures that has been several months of a treatment plan to accomplish. They offer an affordable discount plan too for a fair monthly premium too covers e rays and cleanings. In addition, credit contingent, their are third party payment plans available. The quality of care at Atencio is consistently extraordinary. If you are in need of care, make an appointment. You will be glad you took the time to read reviews. I always make 8am appointments at time of opening and they are always prepared and ready for treatment - always! No wait times. The staff at Atencio genuinely enjoy working there and it shows they are a quality employer too. Thank you tremendously for all your kindness and care to me and especially my mom who also will says she is so happy to have her smile back. Fantastic experience: Where do I even begin... this office has changed dentistry for my significant other and absolutely changed our lives. From our first visit we were met with nothing but kindness and smiles. My s/o is TERRIFIED of the dentist (I mean.... TERRIFIED...) So much so that he has outright refused care he so desperately needed for broken teeth, fillings, etc. One visit to this office and everything changed.... Dr. Atencio made it a mission to change his view of dentistry and has done just that! We have now had 5 extractions and a deep cleaning done with ZERO ANXIETY OR ISSUES! After his extraction appt my S/O was actually bright, cheery, and in good spirits! This is completely flipped from our previous experiences of tears and breakdowns.... just today he had his half deep cleaning (No sedation! - Gas only) and FELL ASLEEP in the chair! I don't think there is any better way to express how comfortable he feels in their office other than that. I cannot reccomend this office enough as they have literally changed our lives. Thank you sooo much Dr Atencio and all his amazing staff for everything you do. Nothing short of a miracle in my eyes! We appreciate you!!! - Tristen and Hannah

Fantastic experience: This was my second visit to Atencio Dentistry. First appt was a large painful tooth to be pulled, which was done with ease. Second was for impressions, X-rays. And a full exam. I’m no lover of the dentist. Maritza was amazing, she was gentle, kept my mind on other things, made me more comfortable than I knew I could be there, and before I knew it the hard parts were done. I hate X-rays. This appt showed me they aren't all the same! Dr. Morales was another pleasure to work with, while I don’t currently have the funds to complete my dental plan, she explained in detail what I needed, how she’ll help, and that the lack of confidence I have in my smile can be fixed. When it’s an option for me, I will be back.

Fantastic experience: I visited with The Amazing Dr. Morales and her wonderful assistant Maritza on Aug 21, 2025. The doctor efficiently patched an ancient filling (pre-Atencio's) with NO pain during the procedure. Maritza and I laughed it up and practiced my Spanish speaking. I would have her as my backup if we were in a cop buddy TV series. I admire Dr. Morales and the entire assistant team- they're great!

Fantastic experience: I have only great things to say about Dr. Attencio and his staff at his office. From the second I walk in to the chair to the exit door. The staff is so pleasant and knowledgeable. His assistants are very good and attentive and of course Dr. Attencio is so good at what he does. When he gives you a shot he is so easy on you. I hardly feel it when he administers the novacaine. Then things move quickly and the reason I went there is all done! I use the gas when I get procedures and I hardly get to enjoy it and my procedure is all done. I really feel good when I go to the dentist office. Everything is good there.

Negative experience: For a couple years, Dr Morales was great for my daughter but for some reason they stopped taking my MetLife dental insurance. When I made an appointment for her regular cleaning and x rays, the office reassured me that even though they no longer took MetLife, I would pay “very little” or even nothing out of pocket so I still made the appointment. I got billed for a couple hundred dollars, and this after saying they already “wrote off” a few hundred dollars in charges. Had I known I’d have to pay this much out of pocket, i would have gone to a different dentist who takes MetLife instead.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Antencio saved my life. I was butchered by a former dentist. I didn't dare go to anyone again. I saw his ad that he "catered to cowards. . I broke a tooth and had to go. Dr was so very gentle. And his assistant " Maritza" took extreme care to me. Very professional. She is fantastic chair side manor. Christine at the front desk makes sure all your schedules and payments are affordable. GO TO DR. Fantastic experience: Maritza was so helpful today. I have a lot of anxiety going to the dentist and she joked with me and made me feel comfortable - even while doing procedures like X-rays and imaging. Dr. Mike Atencio also made me feel calm and came up with a plan to help me (my teeth are not cute ). I felt the calmest I’ve felt in a dentist office here. I avoid them as much as I can. I actually, kind of, look forward to seeing them for my next procedure (an extraction ). I know they’ll make me feel at ease.

Fantastic experience: I have been running out of dental offices from here all the way to California nearly in tears (& a couple times literally in tears) for as long as I can remember. I finally decided to just stop going all around because I had completely lost faith in finding a dentist who I felt listened to my concerns and actually took those concerns into consideration during my appointments. Well…… time eventually caught up with me & after completing my 2nd round of braces, I needed dental work, bad. My nana referred me to Atencio Dentistry. I was extremely hesitant. I am now approaching my last few appointments with Atencio & I honestly could not say enough great things about them. I don’t have insurance and they made my treatment as affordable as possible & I have never been able to say that before at other dentists. They took the time to ask me about my concerns/fears about going to the dentist and there has not been one appointment where I felt they did not remember those fears & concerns. Dr. Morales has been so kind and gentle with me. I could honestly go on & on & on hyping them up. They are truly a ONE OF A KIND dental office. You absolutely will not find anyone better— they provide beyond 5 star service no matter who you are or what your story is.

Negative experience: Maritza is super unprofessional, and the stuff she posts on TikTok shows. Not a good representation of this practice. Disgusting.

Fantastic experience: Dr Atencio makes a plan for dental needs and then he proceeds to do other work witch I did not agreed too. Mainly a money problem. Need to ask what he will do before he just runs up my bill. He is a nice Doctor and I know he likes new filling but if it's not broke , I can't afford cosmetic dental work on old fillings. But I paid more then I could afford.

Negative experience: Went in for a cleaning to see a copy of “Elephants are not Birds” proudly on display in the waiting room. This is a normal looking childrens’ book that claims to “teach complex Christian and Conservative values,” but is essentially an entire book telling kids to be ashamed for being transgender. Interesting to see a copy of a book that demonizes and excludes children (and costs 25 dollars a copy, presumably from the money they make from patients) in such a prominent location in the facility. I just want everyone to know that if you support this place, you are giving your money to a business that will use your money to spread hate and shame. The service was fine, but there are cheaper and better dentists out there that wont use your money for this garbage.

Fantastic experience: So…I chipped my front tooth trying to open something with my teeth like a total caveman (don’t ask, I was desperate and hungry). And even though it was totally my fault… I still cried for TWO days because I felt so ugly lol. I was embarrassed, self-conscious, and just not myself. That’s how I ended up at Atencio Family dentistry and somehow, I left SMILING. Like, genuinely smiling. That’s only happened once in my entire life after a dental visit. Maritza, Dr. Atencio, and the lovely receptionist were all incredibly caring, professional, and down-to-earth. Their energy is truly refreshing and let me tell you, you can’t fake energy like that, I felt it the moment I walked in. The office? Immaculate. The equipment? Modern and high-tech. The experience? Actually enjoyable. I felt safe, cared for, and honestly… like a new person. I had such a great time (yes, I said great time at the dentist ) They fixed my little caveman crisis and my confidence in one visit. I was so impressed I booked appointments for my mom and husband on the spot. They’ve officially earned a new patient.. and maybe my whole family too. ‍♀️✨

Positive experience: Got some work done a little over a year ago. A piece of my root canal broke off,went in to get fixed,come to find out needed crown was not informed previously. Have to pay for fix and now $1,800 for a crown.

Fantastic experience: Having lots of fear and anxiety of going to dentist, I neglected the health of my teeth. After mustering up the courage to go, I did my research and found Atencio Dentistry. I read about them and all the reviews and seemed good. I thought, I would go .... and I did! Everyone was friendly, no shaming but mention what they would have to do to get me back up and healthy. I had a tooth pulled cause it was infected and had a deep clean done, still need one more, but it all went well! Negative experience: I really loved my experience here never wanted to change dentist but it turns out they are really missing out best customer they would of kept me here but due to my father insurance which he does have delta insurance which he does have the best I really loved it pains me to leave this place because they helped me so many ways I was very upset because even my dad was going to come here but since they get me out because dr Morales wanted more money wanted Platinum PPO or gold PPO people that make more money. My point is my dad is hard worker he flys a lot he even gotten pay raise because Southwest wasn’t giving enough money that all customers. And Southwest picks good insurance plan. Getting kicked out have to drive further distance to not nice place. And the fact it’s hard to get dentist here in Neveda because they all cut insurance Because they don’t negotiations don’t work personally it hurts me as a customer that last year we have to go through the all process to find a place take new patient and next year you kick me out like that is in fair poor for your business. This dentistry will have huge loss of one of there good patient they should have kept. It’s good that cleaning was now I have to new dentist. Pretty soon I may have to drive up to Truckee if this keeps happening to me. It’s just pains me when you get so comfortable at one dentist office takes new patient then leaving is really hard. so really dentist places really do make people life hard. So I will miss being here but it sucks when place are so close to me now I have go somewhere else!.

Fantastic experience: The last three times I’ve been in to see Dr. Atencio his assistant for me has been Maritza. I very much like the fact that try to keep his assistant consistently the same for each patient. It adds a personalization to their overall service and a friendly familiarization that I think is pretty rare and very cool. Dr. Atencio is a great dentist. I’ve moved around a lot and had dentists in multiple states and he is by far the best. I’ve had a lot of work done… for that matter the whole office is well run, professional, friendly, and very competent. They know most folks simply just don’t like going to the dentist and they go the extra mile to ensure that the patient experience is as pleasant as possible. They simply do a great job. Maritza also has conducted herself with high professionalism, very personable and very serious about making sure the patient has a great experience.

Fantastic experience: My first experience with this Dentistry was amazing. I have not been to a dentist in over 10 to 12 years. I came extremely fearful as I always do but, everyone from the front desk to the dentist Dr. Atencio (Mike.) and everyone in between were amazing. Through the years, my experience with dentists have been painful. This was just the first day but I am very excited to call this my dentist home. I was listened to & was heard. Fantastic experience: We've been in Reno for 6 months and was in need of a local dentist read the reviews thought we'd give them a try. Was very pleased with the results the staff are very professional and polite a couple of the emails are a little over the top but that's electronics these days, other than that the service was top notch and we'll be returning and using them. 09/06/22 Had to make a little emergency visit today to them as the plate that I had made several months back actually developed a crack they were very quick to get me in and assist in taking care of it (free of charge) cannot say more good stuff about this dentist office highly recommended. Had a issue with a denture plate and they still honored maintaining it and correcting it not once but twice even though my insurance has changed since I'm hoping that they will take our company's insurance shortly these guys r great, I cannot say enough good about them. Hada nuther visit t'day to make an adjustment, always a pleasant experience at this office. Still very recommended

Fantastic experience: I’m so happy I found this new dentist! Last month I received a very thorough cleaning and discovered that I had very old fillings (like 25-40 years old) that needed to be replaced, had that done today, and it went very smooth and quick. Dr. Mike made the shot pretty painless as well. Next visit is another old filling replacement and a 25 year old crown going on the Fritz to be replaced. Do not hesitate to switch dentists if you’re not happy with your current one!

Negative experience: Took them 12 days to notify us about this. Doesn't really impress me since the receptionist would always mess up our appointments and make us waste work hours. Thank God I changed dentists long time ago and save your reply, take that time an train your people in how time works.

Fantastic staffs are wonderful especially Felicia who cleaned my choppers.. Dr. Atencio is very knowledgeable & nice. Both my husband & I totally recommend them for your dentistry care. We went through 2 other dentists before finding Dr. Atencio & we couldn't be happier especially when they are moving very close to us. Wish I can give them an extra star just because the environment is so relaxing.

Fantastic experience: I recently had my scheduled cleaning at Atencio Denistry with Felicia. She has been my hygienist for several years now. She has such a gentle hand when cleaning my teeth and such great energy.That same visit, I had a couple of old filings replaced by Dr Morales and her assistant Maritza. They were both fantastic!! Both of them were extremely gentle when working on my teeth and so very kind. Thank you all for the outstanding care you give. I’m grateful for all you do.

Fantastic experience: I received a reline on my dentures this morning and was able to pick them up this afternoon. They feel great right now. I realize I may need an adjustment in a few days, but I am real satisfied at the moment. Everyone in the office is so nice and helpful and Dr. Atencio’s assistant Sue is the best. And of course Christina at the front desk is always so kind. I’ve had fillings and crowns here also and he does excellent work. I highly recommend Dr. Atencio and his team.

Fantastic experience: I was happily chewing English jubes when I located a solid object It was my crown and I had 2 broken teeth I got an appointment at Atencio dentistry expecting some sort of temporary replacement & a return visit. Sue checked & X-Rayed the area. Mike swooped in cleaned, abraded, filled and replaced the cap and filled the other tooth. 1 hour from surgery entrance and I was ready for coffee and a new day. Mike the wizard!

Fantastic experience: I had a crowned molar that needed to be replaced. I’m picky about dentists. I appreciate those with years of experience and expertise, especially when it comes to doing crowns correctly. My endodontist recommended Dr. Atencio. Dr. Atencio has a modern office and friendly staff, but most importantly, he has the dentistry skills I was looking for.
