Since 1967, Jefferson Dental & Orthodontics - West Dallas Dentist continues to provide the most compassionate, high-quality, affordable and convenient dental and orthodontic care to our communities. Negative experience: Today I had an appointment and my normal dentist wasn't there she was out on vacation so the person she has filling in is very rude raises her voice talks to you like you don't have no understanding and I cancel my appointment for today and made it for next month with my dentist that already started working on my teeth.. but overall Jefferson dental I would recommend longest is the person that's normally there and not a feeling person

Negative experience: The staff is not friendly. I came in to this location to inquire on dental cleanings. When I walked in both girls just starred at me. I walked right on out because who would want to be a patron with services like that. No thanks!

Negative experience: Very disappointed. In March I went there and they said they called my insurance to make the numbers of how much I would pay from my pocket. I paid on site what I was supposed to pay. Weeks later they started sending me mails stating that I owed 470 dollars because of the treatments I got. Very hard to contact someone who knows about you're inquiring. They said that the insurance didn't want to cover one procedure. I called my insurance and they said that they didn't have any record of Jefferson consulting them about the coverages of my treatments, plus that they would not cover the use of certain antibiotic close to a periodontal surgery, which I didn't have. I called back Jefferson and asked about all this and they asked time until next Tuesday to find out. They didn't call, but again they're sending me now a new letter saying that since I haven't paid they're sending my case to a collection agency. Very tired of all this. If have known that I would to pay above the budget I have I would refuse the services that got, and especially since they weren't clear with the information and I not sure about what procedure I had that I don't recall. Probably I'll end up paying since I don't get responses, only delays, but for sure I won't come back to this clinic even if the last one in the world. You cannot play with the budget of people. And don't fool your costumers.

Fantastic experience: The Team at Jefferson Dental & Ortho West Dallas was great (Evelyn & Maria). They went over all my payment options & discounts. I was able to get all my services done in one day as well. Everybody on staff was great. I'm usually real nervous coming to the dentist but they made me very comfortable. The hygienist dept numbed my mouth down to perfection to where I didn't feel anything. I even closed my eyes a few times during treatment, which I've never done before. They will definitely be my permanent place for my dental needs.

Fantastic experience: Jefferson dental has always been my go to dentistry!! I've been going to different locations due to convenience but I found my clinic! I adore the staff here and the manager Alma. My daughter and husband received treatments here. Alma was very helpful and knowledgeable she made our experience here great. Positive experience: Evelyn deserves a raise. She is always so accurate. She is always professional, serious about her work Everytime we've come into the office. Evelyn understood what we were saying regarding our bill concerns but her manager DID NOT seem to get the whole picture when Evelyn was speaking with her manager about our account. Afterwards Evelyn corrected our bill and saw where the discrepancy was right away, then, showed her manager what needed to be done to get our account rectified. That is excellent customer service. Evelyn deserves a promotion to be a supervisor/manager. She's Very detailed oriented. She made sure to clarify the problem because someone some how that works at Jefferson Dental mistakenly applied a wrong charge on My husbands account. My husband and I are so grateful for Evelyn which is your employee. She is a very useful and valuable member of your organization at Jefferson Dental and is always contributing significantly to your company's success through her skills, accuracy, professionalism, reliability, and positive attitude. Fantastic experience: Dr. Lin was amazing. My case was pretty difficult as I needed two oral surgeries to complete my treatment. It was all worth it in the end. My teeth are finally how I've always wanted them to look and I couldn't be happier. I've also had Jessica and Matthew take care of me multiple times and they were both great and very attentive :^) I hate that I've finally reached my last appointment but overall it was a great experience!

Fantastic experience: The dentist was very gentle, answered all my questions and concerns. The staff here are also very professional and caring. I was looking for a new dental office to get my dental work done. and after my first visit there, I'm definetly coming back. They also discussed the prices with me before any procedure was done which I really appreciated. Hand down one of the best dental offices I’ve been too! Friendly and Down to Business!! 10/10 recommend!
Negative experience: Dr shaved some of my Caine tooth when putting composite on my other tooth also made it fat on the bottom ): Dr also put the needle in my gum a second after asst put numbing gel idk if she was is a bad mood or something or also asking how old i am when im the patient also threw me off i dont feel like i was being heard carefully or she understood what i was explaining to her she just seemed kinda like ugh i explained 3 times i didnt necessary need caviaty composite redone from Jefferson which she said i didnt need it it was feeling rough i said i know i was telling her the bottom of my tooth wasnt as straight as it was when i got my chipped tooth fixed ): not the middle i did say it was okay and just left because i did not feel wanted there ortho side is well 100% im just sad because i liked how sharp my Caine was now it has a weird straight side on it / i do like ortho but before treatment is done look at the side of your braces and see if you will be okay with slanted teeth if that’s your anatomy because if you aren’t you will be recommended Invisalign & will pay more after braces off i ended up being okay with it though /+ laser gingervitus treatment is considered a quick fast treatment 100$ the last time it was recommended to me as a fast fix but i would be able to clear up if i just had kept up with my flossing and mouth wash & appointments for cleanings ( i did it last time because i had braces ) but i had a small amount of build up from over a year not being at the dentist the laser treatment shouldn’t even of sneakily try to be added even after the nice hygienist said (nothing a cleaning won’t fix and good flossing and brushing will resolve it ) which i did admit i wasn’t following good practice to her I’m just never coming back to this location

Negative experience: I used to like this place but now there are alot of new employees and customer service is not good. I am going to change who I go to moving forward. This is a horrible place to go to; the dentist is loud and yells at you because your teeth need to be cleaned um, that's why I am there, DUH!!!! Also they cash your insurance checks then send you unpaid invoices and say you still owe, AND THEY NEVER PICK UP THERE PHONES. WORST PLACE EVER KEEP AWAY

Negative experience: I had an appointment at 8:30 am , when I walked in the front desk lights were off and the front desk girls were sitting there talking and giggling and did not acknowledge me or tell me to sign in . I had to figure it out myself to sign in on the clipboard after standing there for 5 minutes.

Negative experience: My appointment was at 8am, so when the staff walks in, no one spoke. It was very poor customer service. They acted a little racist. They where very rude in the way, they was talking to us. I do not recommend this place.

Positive experience: The front office is helpful and answered all my questions and concerns. I got braces i just wish i was told a treatment plan or any details on what is to be expected on the current and future visits. I saw the ortho for less than 10 minutes. I feel like there should have been more conversation about my teeth or the braces. Overall great experience though!

Positive experience: My first time going I had a very good experience which is why I returned but my most recent appointment was not good. It seems like they’re trying to pull off of a scam with people with insurance & when paying at the end of the appointment. Dentist & hygienist are professional…not sure about the employees in the front.

Negative experience: My appointment was moved without my authorization and I wasn’t told about being rescheduled until I received a text trying to confirm the appointment. Negative experience: I called to make an appointment to get my teeth checked. They told me my teeth cleaning was covered by my insurance, so I went in thinking I was not going to be charged. They checked my teeth and started telling me all the problems I had. Then comes in the financial aid person who breaks down all the prices and plans they have for me. After almost 2 hours on the chair, she tries to get me to agree to almost $6,000 plan. I told her I was alright. That I just want my teeth cleaned. She then tells me it the insurance covers 80% of the cost which was like $260. I ask her how much I had to pay. She said $150. In my head I knew that wasn’t right if the insurance is paying 80%. While I was sitting there, I could hear the same thing being said to all the other patients. It sounded more like a bunch of scammers trying to milk people out of their money. What a waste of 2 hours for me, and also, I got out of work early to make it here to not get anything done to my teeth. Be aware people.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Chaula is very nice and very gentle when it comes to caring for her patients. I went in on 7/8 with a big face from an abscess. I was given prescriptions and went back on 7/12, and now I’m 2 teeth free from pain. I know that I can be a handful, but it did not change the professionalism of Dr. Chaula and her staff. Positive experience: High quality dental work, with a dysfunctional front house. My review will primarily tackle my frustration with 3 specific and avoidable persistent problems: 1. Scheduling is inconsistent. I have had appointments that were scheduled, confirmed over the phone and sent a text within 2 days of the appointment as a reminder. Ensuring that it is possible for this to be done properly. However, on several occasions I've had serious time wasting issues; there was an appointment I arrived to where they actually had no idea why I was on the schedule, the receptionist simply apologized and told me there was a mistake made and I wouldn't need to see the doctor. Or the time I specifically set an ortho appointment, came in was scanned and set a return appointment for 3 weeks later. I arrived, signed in marking ortho on the sign in sheet. Then I'm examined and told that I can leave, which was confusing because I was told I'd be receiving my next set of trays. The dentist was confused and while I had already been there an hour, I was told that everyone left for lunch and wouldn't return for an hour. 2. Confusing financial processing. I have been a Jefferson dental client for over 10 years. This is the first year where I've paid my copay, received treatment, and on 3 separate occasions received a separate bill in the mail days later telling me my unpaid bill is going to collections. When I asked about it on a separate visit the receptionist seemed to be confused as to how to help me, which was a bit frustrating as she was the individual who came to take my payment before the treatment. 3. Exceptionally long wait times. I work in education, and have for over 14 years, I'm aware that there are many times where appointments run over time, or communication break-downs occur. It's understandable and not uncommon. However, I have had maybe one appointment in the last 2 years where I didn't have an idle wait time of 20-30 minutes. Often I'm either on time or early so having to schedule time off work, aligning my schedule to receive services and due to inefficient practices, and a lack of communication I've come to expect long wait times. I want to clarify, I have for the most part received great dental care at reasonable prices. However, inconsistent communication surrounding scheduling, finances and treatment are pushing me to seek services from a different company. I value my time, money, and treatment; please make adjustments, thank you.

Fantastic experience: I recently visited Jefferson Dental a few weeks ago and was informed that I needed a deep cleaning with laser therapy. Prior to my visit, I was unaware of the severity of my condition, but the assistants showed me my teeth scans, and it became clear to me. The treatment coordinator, Jackie, was incredibly kind and informative. She assisted me in finding a financing option that made payments manageable. The hygienist, Keiyon, truly made a significant impact on my life. Previously, I suffered from bad odor and swollen gums, but his cleaning not only improved my smile and oral hygiene but also boosted my overall confidence. This experience at Jefferson Dental was by far the best dental visit I have ever had, and I highly recommend scheduling a cleaning with Keiyon as soon as possible.

Negative experience: Let me preface my review by saying the dental technology great. However, when it came to my treatment plan that’s where things went south. Prior to getting a second opinion I was ready to go through with my services until I discovered that the $700 plus for deep cleaning that I didn’t need was way too much as well as the $1488 partial for 1 tooth on the bottom and the $1488 partial for 3 teeth on the top. I was educated that I could get those partials for $500-$700 each. I had a few small cavities that were also priced too. My quote landed somewhere around $5800 plus. I feel as though they found a weakness and planned to exploit it. This is upsetting, as I was excited and prepared to have the work done. As a TAKEAWAY: If you ever feel uncomfortable always get a Second and Third opinion if necessary.

Positive experience: The orthodontist receptionist with the dark hair,thick body frame wearing the tightest blue uniform she could find . wouldn't give her name have the worst attitude. All just on this list I really wish I could switch my daughters clinic this was my 1st encounter at this location, our city is under a floor warning, and I was so many wrecks coming that way she wasn't understanding at all didn't give us a grace period or nothing just gave me a hard time.

Positive experience: I always have a great experience when I seeing the Ortho side but for some reason the wait is always longer with the general side. It wasn’t just me today it was so many others looking around huffing and puffing and probably wondering the same as me, what’s going on? Overall the dentist takes care of you, just be prepared to wait 30 minutes to an hour before getting called back to the general dentist side.

Fantastic experience: Started my braces treatment with Dr. Lin it was an amazing experience with the whole staff I also got my cleaning done the same day! Dr Sura was making sure I was ok the whole time. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for orthodontic or dental treatment.

Negative experience: TLDR; They have a horrible scheduling system that leads to double booking. I called and made an appointment that was scheduled 2 weeks out on a Thursday without any problem. They called to confirm the Saturday before, and we did. However, the day before the appointment I see a missed call during work with a text a few minutes later saying I need to confirm or I might lose my slot because they've been unable to reach me. I called and they said they were "just calling to confirm" so I confirmed (again) but then the young lady asks if I can come in an hour before because they were overbooked. I told her I couldn't because I had other commitments, and she said she would put it in her notes. Then, the morning of the appointment another rude young lady calls with an attitude that they need to cancel my appointment because they won't have a general dentist. I asked her how the whole week of communication no one was able to notice that before? She said that it was because when I called to schedule an appointment, people not located inside this office answered the phone and they don't know what's going on at this location. So I asked how I can call them directly to make sure I get someone who knows what's going on at this location? She said they can't assure they'll answer the phone since they are busy. On top of this my boyfriend has also been asked at the time of the appointment to wait because of overbooking.

Fantastic experience: Wow what a great dentistry !! The entire staff not only make the experience of going to the dentist easy on your mind and body but also your finances. What started as a visit I’ve been putting off for years turned into a weight off my shoulders knowing with the help of Jefferson dental I am on my way to a better smile. Positive experience: The hygienist had an onlooker learning with him while he was doing a procedure on me. Instead of talking about the procedure he was trying to get to know the woman and talking about personal things with her. And when he would talk to me he was condescending. The surgeon was very respectful and tried making me at ease and that was good

Negative experience: When I was given the payment plan I was told the charge would be over $4000.00. I was told that my insurance would only pay half of the payment. I was told that I I would be responsible for over $2000.00. I was offered to finance the payment. I did not qualify from several finance companies. I went to Smiley Dental. My insurance company paid the entire payment for the same services.. Does Jefferson Dental receive kick back payment from these finance companies? I feel like there was an attempted scam. SHAME ON JEFFERSON DENTAL!!

Negative experience: I wish I can say the service is great but when it comes to documentation that is needed they lack follow through. Every time I call they never answer the phone at the clinic directly. Only the answering service which is offsite and unable to assist you with billing needs. I’ve been requesting a detailed super bill for my HSA and they have yet delivered it to me. I even went in person and they wasn’t able to complete it then and asked told me they will email it to me. If I can’t get the information requested to be reimbursed then the company needs to reimburse me.

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience at the Jefferson Dental Pinnacle Park location. Linda made my financial aspect of my dental visit affordable according to my insurance she was patient, helpful, and very understanding made you feel like a patient and not a number keep up the great work thanks for all your help! Dr. Chawla was amazing she made sure during my treatment I was comfortable and asked me numerous of times if I was okay everything was communicated effectively and she provided you with multiple options from most effective to least. You have a bit of a wait time that’s my only complaint but overall great experience.

Positive experience: Dr. Lin is amazing and so is the ortho staff, but the general denistry has a tendency to be very slow. However, the hygienist (African american lady) is very nice and amazing! The staff changes a lot, and they often get the appointments wrong. Overall, they are nice and the staff would benefit from more training to help them get better.

Fantastic experience: Came here to get my braces and the staff here are absolutely helpful and amazing. Dr. Lin is very caring and overall a great doctor. A year and a half later my braces were removed and teeth were successfully fixed and straightened. Very happy with the way they turned out and how great I was taken care of by the staff. Negative experience: Some of the staff are very friendly. But once it comes to treatment they get very money hungry. I came for an annual cleaning, waited over 2 hours to find out I needed additional treatment for other problems. They denied me my annual cleaning and tried to rush me out of the clinic after I declined paying $500 for everything they recommended. I wasn’t offered a treatment plan, they wanted the money up front. Don’t get me wrong I understand dental visits may be high. But this clinic was very adamant on getting money from me for what I initial came for, an ANNUAL visit.

Negative experience: Echoing a lot of reviews recently, the communication is abysmal with this location. I was told to come in for an ortho appointment to repair a retainer. I confirmed over the phone the purpose of visit, only to drive 30 minutes to the office and be told they don’t repair retainers. This is an unacceptable way to treat new customers. Negative experience: Got braces & experience was ok to start, I understand the pandemic has messed things up, but I've gotten nothing but poor customer service. Examples: I missed one of my brace adjustment appointments & took more than 5 months to be seen, (way too busy not enough employees) this increased time I need to have braces. Also have received text confirmations that I have appointment, take time off work to come to dentist office only to wait for 40 minutes to be told my appointment confirmation was a mistake. I asked if they could work me due to missing work & driving 30 minutes, only to be told by supervisor that wait time would be 1 hour or 1.5 hrs or longer. It's obvious customers are an inconvenience when dentist office makes a mistake. Also have to wait longer than what seems reasonable when I finally make it to the dentist chair to get actual work done. I really regret choosing this place due to the poor experience. Maybe should take on less customers or have a better scheduling system. I do not recommend at all, run from this place unless it's an emergency, they work hard to get your business & then its poor service & bad experience from there. All the good surveys are probably new customers. I've been dealing with them for over 2 yrs.

Fantastic experience: The Professionalism and courteousness of the whole team at JDO Pinnacle park location is second to none ! I have lots of anxiety about going to the dentist but after this visit, I have become an advocate. To begin with office staff is incredibly friendly as you come in the door. Vas and Leslie, the office managers were extremely helpful for any or all questions I had. My dentist Dr. Sachi Chawla was very knowledgeable, empathetic and great at educating oral care to her patients. She took the time to fully go over my dental health, presented several options on how to improve my teeth and put together a great treatment plan that fits me. I highly recommend her. Isabel, the hygienist that did my cleaning is the best hygienist I’ve ever been to. She was very gentle and personable. In addition, I had a consultation with Dr. Lin who is a very seasoned orthodontist at JDO, and he took the time to truly explain what was going on based on the imaging and his findings. Altogether, I am so happy to be a new client here and would highly recommend this dental office!
