Dr. Trapani was very professional and gentle when it came to handling my smile. Might i add, super funny to lighten the anxiousness ! As well as the amazing dental assistants who have an awesome level of care. I was taken care of my Mikki who was super down to earth and reassuring. I couldn’t have imagined my appointment with them to be any better. Everyone should be able to experience a dentist like this !

I haven't had a single bad interaction with anyone from this practice. It is hard to find a dental practice that makes you feel comfortable and cared for during your entire visit. Thorough explanations, compassionate care, ready for any questions, always ready with additional options, and kind staff. They have integrity and pride in their work. (Also a rare find) Love this place!

There is never a surprise charge, you're always given an estimate for future procedures, and they now have a Patient Loyalty Program which covers cleanings with discounts on all other procedures and purchases. The entire staff are always very friendly, helpful, and answer any questions I have. They still deserve more stars! Love this Office! They're very accommodating, friendly, and provide a happy upbeat atmosphere. You're in a semi private room with a provider, and you can't hear what's happening in the room next to you. Negative experience: This place is nothing but a money grubbing scam. They can't manage to do a filling effectively. They recommend expensive services that are unnecessary and have little scientific proof of efficacy. They will bill your insurance for higher cost codes with no proof of diagnosis that will follow you for life. I am thrilled to have switched away from Magnolia to work with a dentist that is honest and will help right the wrongs that Magnolia has made my problem. Avoid at all costs.

Negative experience: Beware ! They charge a 3% credit card surcharge without telling you first. I even had a positive balance on my account, and I could have paid the charge with a check or even in cash.

The office staff and hygienist were very friendly, answered all of my questions and got me in and out in a timely manner. I was even able to bring my son and they helped with keeping him entertained while I got my X-rays done, which made the appointment go so much smoother!

Fantastic experience: As someone who has worked in the dental field for many years, in the Yuba City Area, I am pickier than most people when choosing a dental provider. I was looking for a total package (In-Network with my insurance, Quality Care, Personal Recommendations and reputation as an overall office from front to back.) Magnolia Modern Dentistry had checked ALL of my boxes. I will say that getting "in the door" initially was a challenge. They are a popular choice with patients and this made it harder to get a sooner appointment to get established. But I will say, that when my husband had an urgent issue, they were able to accommodate him rather quickly. I was willing to wait longer to get established and don't regret my choice at all. The staff is friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. The doctors I have seen thus far have been great as well. I didn't feel rushed, unheard or encouraged to schedule unnecessary treatment. At this point, 3 of my family members are now patients and the last 2 of us are scheduled. I recommend this office whole heartedly. It has been worth the wait.

Negative experience: Had a procedure done by one of the dentists. She mentioned another procedure (in the same area) would need to be completed. The recommendation was made with strong urgency even stating to not chew on that side. At the following visit (3/4 months later) another dentist was examining my teeth and I mentioned what the other dentist had said. After looking he said that the existing procedure looked good and there wasn’t a need for another. After I told him what his other dentist had recommended, he said “I disagree completely.” - Very unprofessional for dentists working at the same practice to have differing recommendations. Especially when thousands of dollars are involved.

Fantastic experience: Needed a new dentist after moving. Contacted Magnolia and got an appointment within 1 week. All were friendly and professional. Dr Cruz was very thorough and explained everything. I will be back!

Positive experience: Edit on 5/7/2025 After my somewhat negative review, I was contacted by Reese from the office. She apologized profusely for the delay in scheduling, acknowleded that it was an issue that the office was addressing. We talked for a bit, and her call and understanding was most appreciated. At the end of the call, I asked her to please keep me on the priority list for a cancellation. She doublechecked the schedule before hanging up and lo and behold there was an opening the following week. This was really appreciated. I got my two fillings as easy as pie and feel goo about Magnolia Dental. Earlier Review after cleaning What a beautiful office! The hygienist, Yvette, was very kind and professional. I was impressed with all of the new gadgets. My cleaning seemed minimal. Are teeth no longer scaled? Does the ultrasonic device take the place of that? I am in need of a good deal of work - fees were not discussed with me. I need two fillings, and could not be scheduled to have these done until September! That is ludicrous! I had to wait 6 months for a cleaning appt! You have many dentists. I don't understand the wait. I feel as though it's being put off because it is a low income producing procedure. Had I been ready to start on crowns or implants I probably could have gotten right in. You may lose a patient over this, as 5 more months with decaying teeth does not appeal to me.

Fantastic experience: It's hard to change your medical professional, especially after 40 years, but after much research I settled on Magnolia and Dr Reid. I am so glad I did! The office staff greets you as you enter. They are all very friendly and professional. The office was warm and inviting, the building very large with many rooms. All the equipment was modern and top notch. Dr Reid himself was personable, friendly and took time to answer all my question and make sure I was comfortable and happy. My hygienist was superb. After advising her that I was very sensitive she was extra careful and explained everything that would happen. Sometimes after a cleaning my mouth would ache, but she was so gentle I didn't have any problems. I highly recommend Magnolia Modern Dentistry.

Fantastic experience: I am a 70's child and I have a fear of Dentists for good reason. I had to find a dentist after mine retired after 35 years. After being terrified of every appt I had and leaving bruised and sore from the dentist I had been seeing the last for 4 years , not to mention having Dental insurance that pays 100%, though they found a way to add 35.00 to every appt.....and then coming home with a swollen bruised face that last almost 2 weeks , my husband said NO MORE. My co-worker told me bout MMD. I changed thinking who could be worse than the current Dentist who I've been seeing for 4 years? Dr Wallace was so kind and understanding. He fixed what had been bothering me without the root canal the previous dentist said that I needed. He just evened out a crown the other dentist put on. I just saw the hygienist who was also painless! I've only been to this office twice, but I am sold! Thank you MMD.

Negative experience: The business and service is great. My 1 star is due to them dropping my insurance. I have United Concordia. They kept UC insurance for active duty dependents and only dropped the UC that covers federal employees. Just super sad I have to find a new dentist and little frustrated that the letter implied they didn’t have control over it. Here’s to hoping I can find another dentist in Yuba City that is as good as they are.

Fantastic experience: Usually I do not enjoy visiting the dentist but after finding this place online and booking my first appointment, I do in fact enjoy going to the dentist. The Shasta street location is beautiful and my favorite place to go too. The staff is friendly and nice. The dental hygienists are well trained and do a thorough cleaning. The dentists are nice and will answer all your questions. This place does book up quickly so be prepared for that.

I saw Dr. Perry and she not only did a thorough exam with 3D imaging but she gave me practical advice on how to work towards needing no further word. My hygienist Jaycee was great as well - thorough and explained things. Plus I could watch TV while she worked!

Fantastic experience: My appointment was scheduled for April, but there was a cancellation, and I was called in March 20. The dentist, Dr Cruz, and his assistant, Fiona, were great! This was my first visit, full mouth X-rays. Dr Cruz examined my X-rays, then he made several adjustments to my partial denture, which was very uncomfortable when I came in. It fit much better when I left the office. I was so happy, I called my daughter and sister telling them about my great experience!

Fantastic experience: This visit was best in my life. Since I am 77 and started going to dentist at 7 years of age, this is saying a lot. Starting off with X-rays that did not have much radiology and did not hurt my gums was a super plus. The cleaning was fast and efficient. The dentist was fast and efficient also. I was able to watch tv with mindless content and made the time go even faster. My insurance pays the bill. Overall the appointment was great!!!!

I went in this week for a filling and the dentist (Dr. Wilson) took time to verify that I even needed the filling, and then upon finding that I didn’t, invited me to go home and keep up with my normal dental routine rather than just make a buck on another treatment. Fantastic experience: We love Magnolia Modern Dentistry! From the front desk who are always friendly and accommodating even though I am not the easiest patient to schedule. We are a family of 4 and we drive from almost 2 hours away and our schedules are so tight. The girls in the front always manage to make it work and do not get frustrated with us! So much patience and we are always greeted with smiles when we come in! I only go to one dental hygienist, I have always had anxiety about going to the dentist and my hygienist makes me feel comfortable and is gentle. I love her! My husband doesn’t really care who he goes to but everyone he has seen has been very nice and informative on care instruction's and things he needs to do at home. Even my 8 & 9 year old daughter love going in. The doctors are easy to talk to and are great at explaining everything. They never make you feel rushed. They make sure your questions and concerns are addressed thoroughly. The offices are clean and have more advanced technology that I have ever seen. Bathrooms have always been clean and tended to. There are plenty of options for dental services in our area. We haven’t been happy in a long time. We found Magnolia online and saw that they are a veteran owned company and my husband an I are both veterans and that was our first reason for wanting to support them. And you can tell from the atmosphere that not only are they taking care of their patients, their employees are happy and taken care of as well. Keep it up battles!

I love that they offer appointments as early as 7am which works for my schedule. Negative experience: This is a review I never thought I would have to make but here it is. I've been going to this office since 2006 when it was run by Dr. Reading. I've had all my dental work done here and my family's teeth cleaned regularly every 6 months until they were old enough to receive dental care on their own. I retired about a year and a half ago and did not opt to purchase private dental coverage since it's really not worth what you pay for. I pay out of pocket. Having said that, I decided to only go once a year because I have pretty good dental hygiene. I take very good care of my teeth and cleanings are a breeze. Never any issues. A few days ago I went in for my cleaning. I was told that I was due for x-rays and an exam. The exams happen every six months anyway so no big deal. However, x-rays are expensive and all in all my total out of pocket would be well over $300 closer to 400 if memory serves. I informed my hygienist that I wanted to opt out of the x-rays. I just wanted my teeth cleaned. She didn't think they were allowed to skip it and said she'd go ask the dentist. I also offered to go get my own x-rays and a fraction of the cost they were charging since I had my own resources in another dental office. In addition, I would have signed anything indicating my choice not to have x-rays. She came back and informed me that the dentist said no that it was illegal, and I had to have the x-rays done. First of all, x-rays while recommended every year, are NOT required and a set of x-rays are good for 3-5 years. Secondly, the dentist never came to my room to review my chart or discuss my unwillingness to have x-rays done. So, I asked the hygienist are you saying that if I had cancer and didn't want to be exposed to radiation, or was poor and could not afford x-rays you would not see me as a patient or continue to clean my teeth? And her response was "no I guess not" This response was so out of line I couldn't believe it. I said I cannot believe after all the years I've been a patient here, you'd have this response. I promptly got up and left. In the days since this has happened no one has tried to reach out to me to discuss the issue. I have no problem with my hygienist. She's great and was caught between a rock and a hard place. But long gone is the familiarly of the small-town office of Dr. Reading but has been replace by a greedy corporation.

Fantastic experience: I finally found a dentist who explains everything, believes in preventative care and is willing to take the time to explain what is going on with my teeth, what treatment I need, and why. That is something that I haven't had for years now. I walked out of the office feeling like a ton of bricks had been lifted off my shoulders as I had not been able to find a dentist I could trust since mine left the area several years ago. I've only been to one appt so far but from what I experienced on that one appt I would recommend them.

Negative experience: I had made an appointment and waited about 2 months for my dental cleaning. I took off work and traveled 20 minutes to the office, just to find out they had canceled my appointment due to not answering a phone call to confirm. They did not even leave a voicemail. What even made me more upset was that I did not receive any email, or text message that they had canceled my appointment and to not show up to the appointment I had made. This is a very excessive policy, especially for new patients. I understand they do not want their time wasted but this policy does not take into consideration the patient's time. I can take my business elsewhere. I was hoping to establish dental care somewhere, and I thought this would be the office.

Fantastic experience: Dr Cruz was absolutely amazing and warm. The ladies at the front desk all greeted me with kindness as well. Thank you for my new dentist home.

Fantastic experience: Staff are very polite and attentive. Dentist are awesome at explaining exactly what procedures are needed and why. Very little wait time as well. Awesome place!! I had full upper and lower dentures installed due to having very BAD teeth from an ill begotten lifestyle when I was a youth. Alan Reid did a great job of getting everything done and I love the new look. Great place, great people, and GREAT JOB!!!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Reid and the staff were all professional & caring. Service was comprehensive & timely. Charges were all explained thoroughly. I have been “dentist shy” and was immediately put at ease. I went in for a root canal & crown. I was done WITH a new crown in only 1 3/4 hours. I’ve found my new dentist!

Fantastic experience: I was referred to Magnolia Modern Dentistry by four friends. I am so glad that I went. The staff is very courteous and professional. My dentist, Dr. Alan Reid, is very compassionate, gentle and understanding. I have a HUGE fear of dentists and he reassured me that he understood my fear and would treat me so that there would be little to no pain. I appreciated that he gave me several treatment options depending on what I wanted to accomplish and could afford. I wish I had found this dental practice years earlier. Just grateful I have their superior services now.

Fantastic experience: My experience was awesome. The office staff is very nice and friendly. The doctor that I seen was Dr. Perry. She was awesome very considerate, very kind. I was on a waitlist for a cancellation and they got me in very soon within the week. They were awesome and I appreciate that they went the extra mile to accommodate me. I would highly recommend this office to anybody awesome place great staff.
