Fantastic experience: Go on wednedays. As someone who is terrified of the dentist, Dr Jake and all of the staff on wednesdays have made me feel so safe and cared for. Today I had my cavities filled and Dr Jake was the only Dr in and even tho I was there longer than they intended because of it I was checked on constantly, had my cavities filled effectively, and didn’t even notice how long it took because the staff is so attentive! In the past few months, They never try to upsell their services and do their best to get your claims filed, communicate clearly about what is owed and what treatment is needed, and I’m grateful to finally feel less afraid of the dentist.

Fantastic experience: Excellent service and very professional approach to dental health. They were transparent with me about what I needed to get done, and what they felt was not necessary and would just cost me extra money with not much additional value. Will definitely be back!

Fantastic experience: I stopped in yesterday am with no appointment and an emergency situation. I explained my anxiety and hinted towards previous dental traumas I've experienced and immediately felt at ease due to the service given to me at every step. Reception, dental assistant, dentist, and the woman who checked me out and went over all things insurance and finances treated me with such care and eased my anxieties. I went from being seconds away from tears to laughing all while we worked together to confirm a plan for my immediate needs and the future care of my teeth. I am so glad I walked in yesterday and they helped to redefine what dental care can look like. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: Can’t say enough about how wonderful they were! I had an emergency and they got me in immediately and treated me so kindly!! They ended up waiving the fees as I needed to go elsewhere for emergency treatment. I’m so thankful for their kindness and Effie inch! Would 100%recommend if you have an emergency situation! Fantastic experience: We are here temporarily to visit our son. My wife had really bad tooth pain. We knew it was serious so we called the closest place we could find. It happened to be Metropolitan Dental Arts. They got us in right away, diagnosed the issue, which turned out to be a root canal so we made an appointment for the following day. When we told them we found an endodontist that could take care of it immediately. They not only had no issue with it, they waived the office visit/diagnostic fee. They are the kindest people we encountered on our trip. Thank you so much, really appreciate you guys. I just wish I had the names of the front office girls and the manager. You all are the best!!

Negative experience: Below was my initial review. But unfortunately it needed to be revised due to the lack luster service I've received overtime. . Ongoing care at this facility has deteriorated and I'm actually surprised. Dr. Bae is still the best dentist but the front desk staff is something else. They tell you one thing in the first visit and something else on the other. Initial review: The team at Metropolitan Dental Arts are amazing! Fantastic experience: Had cleanings done here for a few years, but never had a filing done. Went today for two fillings and the experience was seamless, painless, efficient and precise. It took less than 45 mins and I couldn't even tell I had work done, less than three hours after my visit.

Fantastic experience: I want to share my experience with Dr. Alexander Bae, because it is rare to find a dentist who is as honest, ethical, and genuinely patient-centered as he is. I have a complicated dental history, including a very difficult experience with implant work done in the past at another office. That experience left me confused, frustrated, and unsure about what was really going on in my mouth. When I came to Metropolitan Dental Arts, Dr. Bae was the complete opposite of what I had experienced before. Dr. Bae never pushed unnecessary treatment, never rushed me, and never made me feel pressured. Instead, he was sincere, transparent, and very straightforward. He clearly explained what was optional versus what was truly needed, and he always respected my comfort level and my pace. What I appreciate the most is that he understood the complexity of my situation and did not overwhelm me with information all at once. He allowed me to understand my case gradually, with clarity and without fear. His patience, empathy, and professionalism truly stand out. If you are looking for a dentist who genuinely cares about doing what’s right for the patient—and not just recommending procedures—Dr. Alexander J. Bae is an excellent choice. Fantastic experience: I have been a patient for almost 5 years and always have a great experience here.

Negative experience: Went in for a cleaning / exam and was told I had three cavities that needed to be filled right away and two more starting that they wanted to “preventively” fill. It didn’t sit right, so I got a second opinion — turns out I had no cavities at all. They were pushing unnecessary work at $150 a filling.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely wonderful service and a state-of-the-art facility. I was in town visiting my sister from SF, and I had the most unbearable tooth pain. MDA was able to fit me in same day, did X-rays and a thorough exam, and recommendations for dealing with the pain. Thankfully it didn’t need any crazy work done, it was just a gum line recession, but I was so relieved and impressed with the level of service and kindness. And I am SUPER picky about dentists!! I 1000% recommended it to my sister and her husband.

Negative experience: The definition of dental crooks. I had a night guard pushed on me despite not grinding my teeth (verified after by two other dentists, at least to the degree of not needing a night guard). Probably worse, waited 30 minutes for my appointment only to be gaslighted by the hygienist that it was actually only 15 minutes late. Felt bad for complaining until I double checked after, confirming that they literally lied to me, no remote effort at humility or apology. People make mistakes but gaslighting is hilariously unacceptable. Now I just feel bad I ever gave them money. It's very clear that they are just trying to upsell you, do not fall for their trap. Got a cavity replaced as well the first time I came in and now I'm doubting that was necessary, though that one is hard to prove (which is probably why they do it, similar to the night guard).

Fantastic experience: I had such a fantastic experience here. Dr. Bokhour was incredibly sensitive to my anxiety around going to the dentist, walked me through everything they needed to do to get my mouth back in shape after a seven year hiatus from the dentist, and assured me that we’ll keep an eye on things over the next few months. My hygienist Michelle was just as sensitive and super gentle when cleaning my teeth. She was amazing!! They had bob Ross playing on the tv and a stress ball for me too. Seriously can’t recommend this place enough. Even the front desk folks were so kind!!

Positive experience: Great dentist for adults, but not for kids! They only see children once a month. My son had his front tooth fixed here last year, but it unexpectedly came out again. I understand that these things can happen, but when I tried to make another appointment, they said the next available time for kids was a month later. I can't just wait that long to get it fixed...

Fantastic experience: Came for a tooth extraction. Dr Miller was the fastest, easiest dentist appointment I’ve ever had. He was done before I thought he had started. The assistant was awesome, too! Would recommend anytime.

Negative experience: I've never put a card on file at a Dr office, in case I cancel, in my life. And a $400 fee for a late cancellation is wild. Also I've never payed for a crown and $250 for a PFM (porcelain infused metal) crown is ridiculous. My insurance covers my crowns 100% and they cover zirconia ones. They told me that’s a co payment. Don’t just pay call your insurance company and verify everything.

Negative experience: This place is a massive scam operation. RUN. and whatever you do don’t leave a card on file. They’ll charge you whatever they want to and then tell you they don’t provide detailed invoices. Just account summaries of all the random amounts they deduct. They’ll also get you to book a whole procedure and then wait until you’re in the seat to give you the second page of your pricing plan. Seriously. Run.

Fantastic experience: Been coming here for years even after moving to the Upper West Side. Love the staff who is always so friendly and Dr Heller is great! Will continue coming back :)

Fantastic experience: I never leave reviews, but after moving to the area and dealing with some mouth pain, I was able to make a last minute appt here. All of the staff and dentists were amazing and made me feel at ease. A week later I had to get 2 of my wisdom teeth out. They calmed my nerves and made the process feel so simple. So glad I found Metropolitan Dental Arts and Dr. Miller!

Fantastic experience: Had an emergency appointment with Dr Roe. She listened attentively, showed me amd explained the X rays that were taken, and suggested a deep cleaning to try and find the root of the problem. She was gentle and explained what she was doing and finding. More importantly, she was able to find quickly something lodged in my gums which was the root of the problem. I am so relieved , she was very competent, heard my pain descriptions carefully and then made the correct recommendation. I would recommend and go again myself!! No more popcorn for me in the foreseeable future!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Heller was absolutely wonderful, he talked me through the entire process, recommended an incredibly skilled endodontist for my root canal, and truly gave me the best experience one could hope for when getting a crown. I can’t thank him enough! Lani at the front desk is also such a gem, she’s always so kind, upbeat, and super helpful with scheduling (not only with their office but even coordinating with the endodontist). A true ray of light! Such a great team with great vibes. I’ll see you all again soon for my cleaning!

Fantastic experience: Its a beautiful place with great customer service nice and clean with good music it was a short wait and wonderful medical service and one of the best receptionist I've ever come across who went above and beyond to get me the help I needed to have my work done the very next day personal experience 10/10

Negative experience: Great for Adults, Not for Kids! If you’re an adult, you might love Metropolitan Dental Arts. My husband did. Unfortunately, our insurance changed, so my son (who used to love the dentist, seriously, he’d skip into Bitesize) had to come here. He now thinks the dentist is something to survive, not enjoy. They only see kids twice a month. My son ended up having to see both pediatric dentists each comes for one day a month. The male dentist was technically proficient, but his bedside manner is somewhere between “grumpy uncle” and “interrogating customs officer.” He felt very judgmental which isn't great when your kid has to get some work done. At one point he implied my son was exaggerating his pain. He wasn’t. I know my kid, and he’s tough as nails. My husband took him to the appointment with the female dentist who was warmer, but during his visit the numbing didn’t work meaning my son had a very painful half-procedure, which then had to be repeated on another day. By this time he was terrified to go back. Basically, they didn’t check in enough with my son or believe him when he said he was in serious pain. Now my resilient, honest, previously dentist-loving kid is scared stiff of dental visits. Adults are probably fine here but kids? I’d pass unless you enjoy explaining to your child that not all dentists are scary, over and over again.

Negative experience: I have no words for how horrible my experience here was. Yesterday I came in. I have photos and voice recordings . I experienced scamming at its best. I came for a free consultation for braces. They asked of a debit or credit card upon arrival. Something never heard of before. I know what I need to get done and I just wanted a second opinion and pricing. They didn't take imaging , pictures. Which is fine but they brought in Emmy. Who Im assuming is Part of their finance department. She came in with an orthopedic agreement which ill be posting later. I asked why im signing anything without actual information as to what would be the procedure and time. Nothing but a paper to sign that I would liable for 8500. GOD HAVE MERCY, for those who get scammed into this. $400 in filing fees. Unheard of . 400 if your cancel. The list goes on. DONOT SIGN ANYTHING HERE. PLEASE READ WHAT THEY ARE ASKING YOU TO SIGN. Ive been to a few consultants braces related, nothing this absurd. I dont care about the cost but I cannot believe what I experienced here. I hope no one else has to.

I’ve also appreciated how they handle the logistics: scheduling is smooth, wait times are minimal, and they’re clear and transparent about every step. They always explain options in a way that feels grounded and not overwhelming, and I’ve never felt upsold. In fact, a few times they’ve found discounts for me or even issued a refund when a procedure ended up being simpler than expected. That kind of honesty builds real trust. They’re also mindful of comfort during procedures—always checking that I’m fully numb, and giving me time when I need it. After my implant surgeries, they even followed up to make sure everything was healing properly. It’s also clear they use up-to-date imaging and tools, which has made things quicker and more precise. Overall, I truly feel like they have my best interests in mind. For someone who doesn’t love going to the dentist (understatement), this place has changed my perspective. I’m grateful for the care I’ve received here, and I recommend this practice without hesitation.

Fantastic experience: My first time experience with Metropolitan dental was great. I received a detailed examination by Dr. Alexander Bae. I was explained the process of my dental work. His bedside manner is compassionate and professional. I felt comfortable and taken care of. Every employee I interacted with greeted me professionally. Everything was clean and the vibe was relaxing. I am a nurse myself and it is challenging to feel comfortable being a patient. I am looking forward to completing my dental work with trust and confidence in metropolitan dental arts. Fantastic experience: Dr Roe was incredible. Straightforward, budget conscious, caring, communicative during treatment, thorough, calm and patient. The practice is larger that most which offers the benefit of not having to travel outside of their office for dental referrals. The lobby is modern, clean, and comfortable and there is no constant 'sell' you get at many dental offices. Would recommend Dr. Roe and this practice!

Fantastic experience: I have had significant dental problems my entire life, been thru at least 16 dental offices. Metro Dental Arts is by far and away the best I’ve ever seen. Thank you to all of the staff for fixing me, I used to feel embarrassed to smile in public and now I think I can be a model for crest!

Fantastic experience: I had a good first appointment a couple weeks ago, and am even better second appointment today. I was a little anxious about the procedures I was going to undergo, but Dr. Bae took time to explain what he was going to do, why it was the best option for me, and then did a fantastic job. Even though I was in the chair for hours, I experienced virtually no pain and was able to watch a movie on the ceiling, which helped to distract me. Was also deeply impressed by their ability to photograph, scan and then mill a partial overlay for one of my molars, all in house and so quickly. Most of all, I am grateful for the professionalism, thoughtfulness and skill exhibited by Dr. Bae and the dental technician who assisted him. So relieved and satisfied to be a new client of Metropolitan Dental Arts. 2 years later: I just wanted to add a postscript to my review above, and state that I have continued to be impressed by Dr Bae and the whole team at Metropolitan Dental Arts. I feel so lucky to have come across their practice two and a half years ago. I realized today that for many years, I had competent dentists who were fine, I guess, but who were happy to let me come in for a cleaning and a check up every six months and leave it at that. Metropolitan Dental, on the other hand, has been a real advocate for my dental health and has redefined what I thought was possible. Today, Dr Bae easily repaired a small chip in one of my front teeth that I had for 23 years and did not even know could be repaired. Over the past couple years, he has replaced a number of old metal fillings which I would have otherwise left in place until they were a serious problem. However, thanks to his foresight, it was all a piece of cake.

Fantastic experience: I've really enjoyed my experiences at Metropolitan Dental Arts. The staff is really friendly & the office is welcoming. The dentists & dental technicians that worked with me were also very pleasant, made sure I understood my procedures & that I was comfortable at all times. They gave me a comprehensive dental plan for my oral health which I really liked. Easy to see everything I needed done all in one place. Would gladly recommend this dental office.

Negative experience: Didn’t honor their night guard replacement policy (supposed to replace free of charge if breaks within less than a year). Also, recommended this place to a friend with the caveat that I had only had night guards made there, but he was really unhappy with the quality of service and care.

Fantastic experience: I came in for my first in a few years for a cleaning. I had a great experience, everyone was warm and welcoming. I'm usually am a bit nervous for any sort of dental work, and the team here was great at making me feel safe and comfortable.

Negative experience: I have no clue why this practice has so many positive reviews. I gave them two chances, thinking the first was a fluke. Both general cleaning experiences were lackluster. My teeth still felt like they had plaque on them, they didn't floss my teeth, and the doctor just seemed bored. I remember asking them if I should get braces before I get a dental implant and the doctor replied, "Yeah, sure." Then they tried to set me up with a follow-up orthodontist appointment for that question. They don't use state-of-the-art equipment and the hygienists do a terrible job at cleaning teeth.

Fantastic experience: Honestly i like the vibe from the moment i walked in. Good music. The staff were friendly towards each other. Just felt like a good work culture, which is why i wasn’t surprised to receive great treatment.

Fantastic experience: Any type of oral procedures can be daunting. This place is heaven sent. The staff is so kind and down to earth. Dr. Miller is GREAT! I was freaking out and the staff was great at calming me down. Needless to say I DID NOT FEEL ANYTHING. Not the anesthetic shots, not the extraction of my four wisdom teeth, nothing! And best of all, Dr. Miller took the time to thoroughly explain the aftercare procedures I should follow. Thank you all so much

Negative experience: Had the worst imaginable cavity filling experience with Dr Bae. He went straight into anesthesia without explaining anything about what the numbing process would entail or asking if I had any questions - what would otherwise be the most fundamental first step of a process like this anywhere else. Would not recommend.

My hygienist Tammy was super friendly and gave me some really helpful tips to improve my gum health. I always feel like I’m in good hands here. No stress, no anxiety—just solid care. All the best.

Fantastic experience: I went to Metropolitan Dental Arts today for two appointments. The first was for a six-month check-up with Dr. Heller. He gave me a thorough exam including taking a full set of x-rays and photos of my mouth. The photos were taken with a special small instrument. Dr. Heller is very nice and runs a well-organized and extremely clean office. His staff are all very pleasant to deal with. My next appointment was moving from Exam Room 8 to Exam Room 10 where I had a tooth extraction done by Dr. Miller, the Oral Surgeon. He explained the entire procedure and the follow-up. What he thought would be a simple tooth extraction turned out to be more complicated. Dr. Miller was very reassuring throughout the entire procedure and made me feel comfortable and at ease. His assistant Javet was also very nice. I would highly recommend Metropolitan Dental Arts for all of your dental needs. They have every specialized dentist under one roof. I forgot to mention that you can watch TV on the ceiling, while you are having the work done!

Fantastic experience: Wonderful experience and team. I came in for a checkup and had a little extra additional work that needed to be done. Dr. Bae, Raven and the rest of the team were kind, informative and walked me through every step of what was needed, and very efficient. Fantastic experience: I’m not a fan of the dentist and have some traumatic experiences in the past. My initially appointment was like any other, taking x-rays, a cleaning. The nice part was that the doctor did the cleaning. I had to go back in for cavities and it was still a lovely experience, they even went above and beyond to fix a chipped tooth I was self conscious about.

Fantastic experience: Initially came in with so much pain from my wisdom tooth, and they fit me in their busy schedule to get it removed same day, an hour after coming in, which was so great. Everyone was so sweet, accommodating and comforting!

I was so scared and nervous,but I must say I had the best experience Dr Miller is the best I didn’t feel anything at all and he was fast with his work. Negative experience: Fine for cleanings but not good beyond that. Moved cities and my new dentist was appalled at the work I had done here, namely the material used for a crown, which is meant for cosmetic purposes but not great for my back tooth as it is fragile and will crack. I had reservations from the start as the tooth was in fine condition and no other dentist had ever brought up needing work. I feel I was mislead by someone either incompetent or setting me up to need more dental work.

Fantastic experience: This was my first visit to the Metropolitan Dental Arts, and it would not be my last. Everyone I came in contact with was very polite and welcoming! The Dentist that attended to me Dr. Bae, he was very helpful, kind, patient and explained to me what was wrong, and what he was about to do with regards to my teeth. I’m a fully grown adult with a real phobia of needles but when it was time for them to inject me, they were so understanding and made me feel safe and calm. Everyone here is extremely professional and nice, it was a good experience.

Fantastic experience: The staff is extremely nice ,warm, welcoming and patient. Dr Jake is really nice and explains everything with patience and care. The facility is beautiful , modern and spacious ; they even have a TV on the ceiling with Netflix that you can watch during your procedure. Most importantly, they really care about making your procedure as pain free as possible, your comfort is number 1.

Fantastic experience: Overall great experience. The office was very clean and smelled pleasant, not like a usual dentist office. Receptionist were kind and professional. My hygienist took great care of me. I told her my concerns and she made sure that I would not be in any pain. The dentist was also pleasant. I needed to schedule other appointments but the system was down. Not even an hour or 2 later I received an email with a treatment plan where everything was broken down and explained to me. I was able to schedule all my appointments. I’m glad I finally found a dentist office that I look forward going back to.

Fantastic experience: Upon having acute tooth pain, I scheduled an emergency consultation and was quickly seen by Dr. Heller. He accurately diagnosed my issue, which turned out to be subtle, complex and likely tooth-threatening. I required a specialty procedure and Dr. Heller went above and beyond to ensure I was receiving the best quality care and a fair deal. The staff have been very friendly and helpful too. Happy I switched to MDA!

Fantastic experience: It is just so easy to come here, and they take standard Dental insurance. Appointments happen on time, the place is open on Saturdays for folks whose work prevents midweek jaunts, everyone is friendly, and the office feels modern. I have been going there for about 8 years.

Fantastic experience: The staff here is amazing! From the receptionists to every doctor I had the pleasure of meeting, everyone was fantastic. A special shoutout to Dr. Matos, who handled my Invisalign treatment! I had so many questions, and he answered every single one with incredible knowledge and patience. He made me feel comfortable and confident in my decision to start my Invisalign journey. On top of that, the technology they use—from making and confirming appointments to handling payments—is a huge plus. Everything is done in-house, making the entire process super convenient. Highly recommend!

Negative experience: Dr and everything was fine but it feels very pushy. They were not happy when I said I need to take a few days to process the $8k orthodontic treatment plan... didn't even look at me in the eye when I paid the visit fee on the way out.

Negative experience: Wow, what a horrible experience. Went there before Christmas to get my upper Retainer fixed (had it for 20 years). Told me I should get it all new because it would eventually break every few months. Told me I should get the new innovative one that looks like waves - told them my concerns about good fit because of my very low bite. Was assured that wouldn’t be a problem and I’d get it before Christmas. Kept pushing the date and finally got it done mid January. It was all wrong. Just a straight wire, not what we’ve talked about. No one had any idea what was planned beforehand because my previous doctor wasn’t in. Had to remove the retainer and wait for a new one. Now it is end of February, had my appointment today to get the new retainer. Again - the straight one. Told me I couldn’t get the other one because of my deep bite - seriously? I told you that first thing in December. Glued on the new retainer - wouldn’t fit right, again. Told me I couldn’t have a retainer with my bite. Mind me: I’ve had mine for 20! years before!! They couldn’t find a solution and I saw in that moment what’s wrong: they glued it on 6 teeth instead of 4, even though it had only been on 4 teeth for the last 20 years. They didn’t even see that themselves! So they took it off again and told me they’d have to order a new retainer. Another 4-6 weeks of waiting. Even though I was assured I would get it all done within 4 weeks, because I am wearing the tray at night and I can’t sleep well with it. Which I told them from the beginning, that it has to be done asap. Will never come back here!

Fantastic experience: Excellent customer service and super professionalism. The young lady who did my cleaning is amazing and did an excellent job. In addition to the Dr. was excellent too. I will definitely will continue to go this amazing dental office.

Fantastic experience: I came in to get fillings done, and was in and out in a half hour. They made the whole process very comfortable, and the pillows + ceiling TV distracted me enough that I forgot they were even drilling into my teeth. Also, I have always experienced very minimal wait times there.
